A Better Choice

In September, ABC came to our place and put in some stuff in our basement. They said we needed 6 things called structural members, a new inside French drain, and a sump pump that's 1/3HP. They didn't tell us we needed anything else. We told them how much water was coming in and the problems we were having. They put in the structural members, drain, and pump. Then, in the spring of 2020, our basement flooded. When a worker came out, he said the thing that lets the water out was too small, and so was the pump. He said we needed a bigger pump and a bigger thing to let the water out. They put in a bigger thing to let the water out, but no pump. Then, in March , our basement flooded AGAIN. The fire department, some friends who do construction, they all said the pump was too small. I called and asked for the biggest pump they had ("the biggest one possible"). They put in a pump that's 1/2 hp. The difference is 540 gallons per minute. Asking for the biggest size and getting one that's just a little bigger doesn't work.

I got A Better Choice Inc to waterproof my basement. Me and my contractor noticed a bunch of problems when we were remodeling the basement. I also had another waterproofing company come and check out the project. The dimple boarding around the fireplace ain't put in right. The pros who came over asked if we were told that the fireplace could be taken out and the waterproofing system could go behind it instead of in front, so we wouldn't need the dimple board. I said no, we weren't given that option. They never told us that the dimple board would look ugly. It wouldn't look bad if it was put in right. We called them a bunch of times about the dimple board issue and they basically said we're stuck with it the way it is, there's no fix. The sump pump cover has a hole that's letting out a stinky smell, which they said is Radon. There's also black mold on a few walls in the garage and the pros who came to look at it said the drain pump wasn't put in right into my downspout and it's too close to my house, causing the mold and my foundation to erode. I got pictures of all the stuff I mentioned.
