Yahoo! the way articles have to be viewed

You click on an article and the you have to hit next after reading a short sentence or paragraph. I've stopped trying to read them because all I'm doing is hitting next. It's not worth the frustration.

Desired outcome: change the format

Yahoo! News story

I have just read a story about a police officer in Colorado shooting a puppy dead in front of it's owners. There is a video accompaniment. I did not expect Yahoo to show footage of the puppy actually being shot.
THIS IS INCREDIBLY DISTURBING FOOTAGE!
It is incredibly insensitive to show such footage. If it was a human being shot there would be no way it could be aired. Why should lives be separated into human and animal? A life is a life and to be shown a life being taken away on a news feed on a Saturday morning is just sickening.
Change your policies about what is ok to show and not.
Please do not show such footage again.

Desired outcome: No more disturbing footage of animals being killed.

Yahoo! The advertisement on Yahoo for the metal telescoping ladders.

There's been an ad on Yahoo.com for about a month for a metal telescoping ladder, of several sizes (ie: 10 to 15 feet tall).

On 8/10/21, I ordered the 15.5' telescoping ladder and paid $64.99 via credit card - Order ID: AZL40930. The ad indicated the company was "milanhm".

Today, 8/26/21, I received essentially a toy strap ladder. The "ladder" was made with thin yellow plastic steps strapped together with black cloth straps (not the advertised telescoping metal ladder).
- a prime example of "bait & switch".

Yahoo! Dashes and dots replacing the comma

I read your Yahoo news articles for years, daily, and would like to know since when have a series of dashes (- - -) and dots (…..) replaced the comma (, )?

I can't believe your articles are actually published with these blatant punctuation errors. Punctuation is learned in elementary school. Do you not have an Editor?

Yahoo! Jeopardy's selection of host's

I don't feel Mike Richard & Miyaim was a good choice to replace Alex trebak. I watched all the Host's except Levar Burton as the Olympic's prevented us from seeing the show. Mike Richard is the Executive Producer of Jeopardy & Wheel of Fortune, it would appear he appointed himself. He has enough on his plate already. Miyaim is not qualified to co-host except "The Big Bang Theory" She is just another NERD...

Yahoo! News

My issue is your news coverage. You are not a news outlet but a hollywood butt kisser. Who cares what hollywood does - they are as stupid as you. Nowhere is your so-called news feed do you ever talk about the real news happening around the world. Biden admin doing such a horrible job running this country - border control - afghanistan debacle - I could go down the list but your "news" will never accurately share the real stories going on in the world. You are a disgrace to the so called news information. You are in bed with cnn - and all the other lib outlets. The only reason I read your "news" is to see how the other side hide the real news. Fox is my station

Yahoo! Go back to previous page

Returning to a previously viewed page is often impossible or requires up to 10 clicks on the GoBack arrow. Why? This problem has become progressively worst starting about three weeks ago as a simple annoyance requiring double clicking. Today is 16 Aug. 2021.
As I click on Submit, I discover that my succinct wording of my complaint is too short for Yahoo to bother replying to or possibly fixing for me. Wow! Maybe I should ramble on for hundreds of words to say what a single sentence can convey. I guess I could just type poems or maybe pages from a dictionary or newspaper. Nah! I am just going to post this as is and hope that someone takes pity on my predicament and actually offers a solution before I switch to another email server with a news feed. Many of my friends use Gmail and have never had a single problem. Whereas for me, this is just another one of many times that Yahoo has "blessed" me, and many others, with problems. However, this may be last time.

Desired outcome: Single click on GoBack arrow to return to previous page which has worked since I started using a computer when Windows XP first was offered.

Yahoo! News article

Hi,

I want to urgently draw your attention to an incorrect and misleading article in your publication which wrongly states a student died after hiding from police.

Link here..

https://uk.news.yahoo.com/thomas-duncan-miller-fell-death-hiding-lockdown-party-100214926.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAGwWrXxJhzBNfm7hV6LpWZIDUSJGTcGdjVWNvmbSLxt619Hy3o1d_fcBODCgl9vXe1uZV9FNWuO0Vgzfg_IfgyGSiUxt592yDfK6CfxnA-K5V30A0GviNMtopbfmL7T75Y6JcWCcXWs1VcW-smlbTa9QwCBccCbkNobROgCQmyEq

In fact the police had no involvement in this incident until after the roof fall took place and we then started our investigation as a result of this incident alone. But in this article you reference PCSOs - who are part of Nottinghamshire Police being there ahead of the fall. This is not accurate.

The reality is that Nottingham City Council Community Protection Officers called at the address before the incident to ask them to turn down the music and then left. The details in here which suggest these had been police officers, or officers working for the police, and that Mr Miller was then hiding from police is inaccurate.

The Community Protection Officers (CPOs) are employed by Nottingham City Council and are nothing to do with Nottinghamshire Police. They were patrolling the area as part of a deal between the city council and local universities.

Any misconceptions around a uniformed presence being a police one are wrong.

The first police involvement was when the ambulance service called us to say someone had fallen from the roof.

The way the article is written clearly points the finger at the wrong agency.

PC Kate Gledhill, who was present at the inquest and quoted in this article from the inquest which your publication clearly did not attend directly, was doing that in the capacity of a police investigator, who was on the scene after he fell and once police had been called, not before. As is normal in these situations this officer was giving evidence of the facts on behalf of the coroner and explaining what had happened and she gave evidence about Community Protection Officers (council) attending before the incident.

We believe the copy you are using lifted the wrong information from the BBC website locally and they have since corrected their misleading article and we would demand you do the same. This is vitally important in terms of our reputation that this is amended to be an accurate reflection of what really happened that night.

Can you please correct your story urgently and let me know that this has happened.

Regards.

Jon.

Desired outcome: Correction of article

Hi Yahoo Front page news

This morning (August 3, 2021) all news carried Breaking news regarding NY Governor Cuomo regarding sexual allegations against him.

How come your front page does not have any news regarding Democrat Cuomo.? How come you (Yahoo front news ) "most honest site" in the world hides this news at the bottom of your pages ? You (Yahoo News) are completely discredited news information site. If you want to read about lies and some socialists gossips, yes, then, go to Yahoo.news. com

Sincerely your reader of fake news

Yahoo! HPinstantink.com and HP

I bought an HP Officejet Pro 9018 All-in-One printer from Costco. It came with a free limited supply of ink cartridges through their hpinstantink.com company. What they don't tell you is that if you don't continue to buy cartridges from HPinstantink.com, the initial free cartridges you receive from them expire at a certain date. Their ink cartridges have sensors, which disable the printer if the "free" introductory cartridges are installed in your printer. This happens if you have not opted to enroll in their service by a given time.

Desired outcome: to alert people to HP's bad sales practices

Yahoo! Cussing

I love reading Yahoo news every morning. But I don't understand why cussing is so prominent in majority of the articles today. Cussing taints the story to negative, and in some cases almost a bullying sense from the author.
I've seen even personal stories and following comments with cuss words.

My question is Why is Yahoo allowing cuss words so blatantly?

This is not a matter of Free Speech ... it's a matter of pride and professionalism of a business.

Desired outcome: Don't allow Yahoo to become just another news outlet joke.

Yahoo! Yahoo finance forum conversations

The racist hate name calling goes on and on and on and on. The perpetrator is screen name "Sue Nommy" formerly "Chester Charlie". I have complained using your "Something Else" category but nothing is done to punish nor cancel Sue Nommy. Its comments are usually quite anti-semitic and I can't believe Yahoo enables this considering your Rules And Guidelines. Why is this and will it be resolved? Thanks. Respects.

Desired outcome: Delete or cancel the screen name and its Yahoo account permanently.

Yahoo! Sanjati ads

This company advertised on your home page. I ordered from them and they did a bait & switch. I ordered a fleece lined jacket and received an unlined plastic jacket. Even though their website says that the consumer will not have to pay return shipping if they receive the wrong item, they want me to pay that. I think they do this knowing that people don't want to pay so much to ship back to China. This company falsely advertises and then counts on people not wanting to pay to ship back. I have received a refund from PayPal but I think that yahoo should not allow companies like this to advertise on their homepage.

Desired outcome: Don’t let Sanjati advertise with yahoo they are a scam

Yahoo! Yahoo allowing scam companies to advertise.

Products like the 4 "stain glass" birds for mothers day were actually a painted piece of plastic. They even had video showing the stain glass process. Being a china company, it's hard to communicate & get a refund. I think this difficulty to resolve is by design to make the customer give up on a return.
Yahoo should not allow these scamers to advertise & support customers in getting refunds.
There are a number of items i'm interested in ordering, but now i'm afraid to because of the Yahoo scammers.

Lynn Overton

Desired outcome: refund & better screening of advertisers.

Yahoo! Home page

Home page is very liberal. Specifically promoting black folks and ignoring other ethnic groups such as asians, latins, caucasians and more. Always promoting news and sports from chicago. Why? There are other more important news, events rather than focusing on african american issues. We are in no way racist but yahoo is taking it to extreme. I can assure you many folks agree with us.

Yahoo! Comment censorship.

Who elected Yahoo to be the censor of free speech? The auditing on story comments by a board of [censored]s is a direct confrontation to the freedom of speech. Any comment these bleeding heart liberals find truthful or disrespectful are not permitted. Any socialist comment is approved unequivocally. As far as I am concerned, Yahoo can kiss my conservative butt.

repeal section 230
Clearlake Oaks, US
Jul 14, 2021 3:30 pm EDT

I think the tech companies like yahoo and twitter should have their rights taken away (section 230)and be sued for the false crap they promote.
Just look at the home page of Yahoo. It is filled with junk about actors or actress bodies in bathing suit, stupid stuff that is not worthy of news that only ignorant people would read. It is no wonder this country is going to hell.
Tech companies sensor American citizens freedom of speech yet they allow dictators to promote hate and killings of others.
Tech companies will support China but not their own president, trump... They will support the killings in China and Iran, but not allow americans to say what they feel. They support BLM, and rioting and burning of stores that people have worked their whole life to build while thes scumbags steal and ruin peoples lives.
IT IS TIME AMERICANS STAND UP AND DENOUNCE THESE TECH COMPANIES FOR WHAT THEY REALLY ARE, COMMUNIST LIBERALS THAT WANT TO DESTROY THIS GREAT COUNTRY.
