Volkswagen Bad tires

October 14, 2022

To whom this may concern:

I am requesting a complete set of new tires. I financed a 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan in December 2020. When financed, the odometer read approximately 6,000 miles. I have driven the car, 11,000 miles. I was under the impression the tires lifetime wear should be anywhere between 48 to 60 thousand miles before replacing. The car now has 28 thousand miles and only 22 thousand miles of life remains. For what it’s worth, the car is new, but the tires are old.

The car has been driving rugged, since inception. There appears to be ongoing interior road noise. The vehicle has been inspected for possible CV damage. No issue found. I again took the vehicle back to the dealership for an inspection and had the service representative test drive the vehicle. It had been concluded that the tires were feathering and creating road noise. I strongly believe, if that be the case, then the tires should have been changed with a brand-new set.

Since the vehicle remains under warranty, Volkswagen should replace the tires or offer a fair credit for the additional mileage that I am owed on the tires. I truly also believe the tires were a bad selection for the vehicle. It is my understanding that Volkswagen has had some past issues with disloyalty, concerning customers. For the sake of peace and positive customer service, I highly suggest we come to some agreement, in reference to these tires. I am unequivocally certain Volkswagen does not want to be responsible for a possible blow out and/or medical claims due to faulty tires.

This vehicle is used to travel long distances and I need to know the tires are in good condition and safe to ride.

Regards,

Booker Washington

Desired outcome: Old tires replaced with new ones

Volkswagen 2020 atlas cross sport - faulty brakes and rotors

I purchased a 2020 Atlas CrossSport in December 2020. Since that time, I have had to replace the brakes and rotors 4 times in 27k miles. I've been told by the dealership this is a "driver error" and I'm not using the brakes correctly, or I am taking the car into a car wash when it is too hot. Neither of these "reasons" are true--I've never, ever had to replace brakes or rotors. I do not ride the brakes, and the rotors are WARPING--does this also mean I can't drive in the rain? Rotors warping shouldn't be caused by water or bad braking, and I'm doing neither of these things. When the problem occurs, the car shakes violently in the front. There is no squeaking or loud noises with the brakes, just the shaking. I am reporting this to the BBB and would appreciate some assistance as I see this is a safety issue.

Desired outcome: I would like a buy back and a different/comparable car. The issues I'm having are not sustainable. I'm not trying to be unreasonable--but this is ridiculous

Mickey,

I truly concur with you about this issue. I have a 2021 VW Atlas S model with the same rotor(s) issues. I took my vehicle in the dealership, and they advise me that the rotors would need to be resurfaced. my brake pads were still good with the odometer mileage of 28,067 as of today (12/14/22). Dealership stated that the cost to resurface the rotor(s) would be $575.00 plus tax. Mike R of Clinton, US.

Volkswagen VW T-Roc Problem with Mechatronik

Dear Sir, Dear Madam,

I am the owner of the VW T-Roc with the serial nr. WVGZZZA1ZJV049312, DFFA, 20A1146T in Rethymno, Kreta, Greece. With only 59'561 km I had to change the Mechatronik part which controls the automatic gears at Starenios Dimitris I.K.E. in Rethymno. The repair cost was 1'181.52 Euro! It isn't acceptable to me to have such a serious and expensive problem with a Volkswagen car of less than 60'000 km, all services done. Also, I have rented a car for 10 days, awaiting the part and the car to be repaired. Since it went regularly to the save mod, I didn't want to take any risk to damage the gears. So, I had additional costs for a rentaI car for 8 days.

Desired outcome: I kindly ask you to evaluate the possibility of a full or partial refund of the invoice nb. 14868, dated October 10, 2022, Starenios Dimitris I.K.E., Rethymno.Thanking you. Barbara Perret

Volkswagen We bought a brand new VW Tiguan in 2019. And since then, there has been a leakage from the roof.

After purchasing it as brand new , there was a factory recall by the dealer and they said they fix the rooftop seal. But after that, every time with the rain, I noticed there was water sitting on the right side of the passenger seat floor. But to complain the rooftop leakage never crossed our mind but we are blaming each other for leaving the door window opened or kids spilling drinking water in the car.

It has been actually a chronic problems now that last year, there was mold on the floor and smelling bad inside.

The floor was wet too. Why we did not noticed is because we did not carry passengers mostly. Only mostly two people in the car.

And in 2021, my daughter took it to the college.

But she got new one and this VW Tiguan was parked in my drive way.

With the rain last week with storm Ian, 3 days of rain and today I tried to start it, and saw about 2.5" of water sitting on the same right side of passenger floor.

And it has been for sure rooftop leakage this time. And smelling mold so badly inside.

Volkswagen Vw

My name is Richard Townsend. I have had 5 vw's in my life and up until now i would say i was a walking billboard for this company. I have been using the dealership in Germantown, Tenn. i always expect them to try to get me to pay for things when i go there just for an oil change, air filters, wiper blades, etc. Saturday 9/3 or 8/27 i was in for an oil change and my car was due a 36 month tuneup $529.27 was charged to my account 3times. I changed my battery myself and one guy at dealership told me i had to use a vw battery, 1 guy told me i had to pay $52 to get it reset, and i might have a problem with the batteries life. instead of paying $52 i had to pay $86 for the reset. now every time i go to this dealership i will expect to have an altercation at every appt. i would like to be compensated for a valued vw owner. Thank You

Volkswagen Vihicle CP58LDGP Audi A4

The above mentioned vehicle was defective and did not meet the standard of sale by MIOSA, Attached the Judgement. the vehicle has been repossessed due to non-payment after Audi Arcadia refused to repair a car that showed an engine light few kilometers after delivery in 2018. Audi Arcadia response to ombudsman indicated that they could not mount the gearbox control unit as a result the car could not be fixed. This was an unfair and inhuman treatment by Audi Arcadia. I humbly request VW not to make things worse than they are and rather contribute in resolving the matter by forcing the dealership to comply with South African Law

Desired outcome: Stop repossession and reconsider the decision and repair the vehicle as defective last resort in terms of NCR Act, I the customer can start with payments with a an amended contract.

Volkswagen Touchscreen radio

I'm the owner of a 2017 beetle with 38k mileage. I bought the car as new from Frank Keane in Liffey Valley in September 2017 and have had it serviced a couple of times with them.

Past few weeks I've had a problem with the touch screen radio in my car. It freezes I can't change the station or answer the phone and another time when it was in reverse the camera didn't come on. Its a distraction driving so I sent it in for a diagnostic check yesterday.

I was beyond shocked when the girl in Liffey Valley told me there was a fault in radio and it needed to be replaced at a cost to me of €1,946.91.

Two thousand euro for a new radio that had a fault when installed. It had nothing to do with me or my driving or my care of the car. But I have to pay this to get it replaced.

I raised this with her and was told it was just unfortunate and while these are not common, they are not uncommon.

I honestly don't know how Volkswagen or Frank Keane can stand over this price. This seems completely unfair and outrageous.

I don't know why I should have to pay 2k

Desired outcome: Please replace this at your cost or at least at a fair discount.

Volkswagen 2010 Jetta TDI Sportwagen

I have had nothing but trouble with this car since I got it but the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) has been the worst part, in may of 2021 the DPF warning light came on telling me to see the owners manual which told me to drive at a certain amount of RPMs for a certain length of time to get the filter to clear, I tried this for a while and couldn’t get it to clear. By June of 2021 the check engine light came on as well so I brought it to the dealership and they said I have a failed DPF filter and needed a new timing belt, they replaced the DPF under warranty due to the whole dieselgate isssue. The car only had about 97k miles on it at this point. Well about six months later the DPF filter warning light came one again so I brought it back to the dealership seeing as they just replaced this filter, they told me it wasn’t the filter causing the problem, that I needed new Glow plugs and a new thermostat, that the failed themostat was causing the DPF not to regenerate…so I replaced those things. Six months later the DPF warning light comes on again, I tried to get it to clear once again and it didn’t work and the check engine light came on again, I brought it to the mechanic and they said a failed O2 Sensor was causing the problem so I had that replaced, after having that replaced and driving away, suddenly my car lost all power and started making an extremely loud siren type noise, my car wouldn’t go over 15-30 mph. It was very scary but I barely made it back to the mechanic. The mechanic told me that it was a failed Turbo and I now need my Turbo replaced. The car only has 101,600 miles on it and it’s just been one problem after another. This whole thing has already cost me thousands of dollars and now I need to come up with thousands more just to replace the turbo and who even knows if the DPF issue is fixed. I am a single mom on a limited budget and this just isn’t feasible for me. How can a car that has been taken care of and has such low miles have so many problems? I sure wish I could just afford a different car.

Desired outcome: I’d love for Volkswagen to help me with the cost of repairing my vehicle.

Volkswagen 2019 Jetta Transmission Gurgling Noise

Frustrating transmission noise, 15 to 2000 RPM, this is my third VW and may be my last because of this issue. There are forums and groups everywhere complaining of this issue and yet VW has not addressed the issue on customer vehicles. It’s hard to believe that VW has not released a field fix. I was just into my dealer for an oil change and asked again about if there is a field fix and the answer was no.

Desired outcome: Fix or replacement of part, buyback!

Volkswagen ads

your full page ads popping up are the most aggravating things ever. They cover up the whole screen, refuse to go away and when they do they pop right back up after3 seconds. I will never buy a vw product because of this unscrupulous practice. In fact I have lived for 79 years of my life without this aggravation and when I`m thru writing this I will be done with your aggravating me anymore. This computer is going to see what a hammer can do, and what the inside of a dumpster looks like. As far as I`m concerned you owe me $800.00 for ruining my old age when I should be able to connect with my family instead of looking at your ads every 5 sec covering up my screen. you people should be ashamed of yourselves for ruining the lives of us old folks. one day you will be there and hope you like the ads. why aren`t they here? thats right this is your site can`t do that to your self, just others

Desired outcome: remove your offensive ads so we can use our computers the way they were meant to be used, without interruptions every 5 seconds that cover the whole page.

Volkswagen VW Customer Service

I recently leased (5/25/2022) a VW ID.4 and I am having problems with the information screen. The screen goes blank sometimes and the back-up camera does not work. I took the car to Piazza VW in Ardmore, PA and they are having difficulty obtaining parts. It is difficult to contact VW customer service. The problems are as follows:

1. Back-up camera does not work

2. Infotainment screen sometimes goes blank resulting in the accessories inoperable.

Desired outcome: It is unusual for a new car to be having these problems. Please assist me in resolving these issues.

Volkswagen New key purchase

My daughter lost her key to her 2006 Volskwagon Jetta. She purchased a new one through Volkswagon of Ocala Florida using the Vin number. The new key and fob came in 149.00. They never told her it need programed. She had the car towed in for programing. 100.00 later none of the buttons on the key fob work. They said it was the car battery. I had the battery tested at Advanced Auto, wear it was bought less than year ago, it is fine. The car starts and runs yes. But WHY none of the functions on the key fob don't work for 250.00.

Desired outcome: We want a key fob and key that works like the original that is why we went to Volkswagon.

Volkswagen A part called the "Clock Spring"... On a 2015 VW Tiguan

I own a 2015 VW Tiguan... The "Clock Spring" went bad on it approx Jan 2022 under warranty. As of today, 8/2/2022, it is still not fixed. I have called the dealership several times to find out what they can do... Initially, they told me it was a part 2 weeks to a month to get. Then, by Mar, they still didn't have the part. By Apr or May, they said the part was manufactured in the Ukraine. The dealership told me VW is trying to get another manufacturer and as of today, I called VW customer Care in Auburn Hills, MI and Jackie J said VW has not escalated this issue (really, a war in the Ukraine and no VW interaction?)... So, who is right and who is wrong? Jackie J also told me only the dealership could give me information about this part since it was "An awaiting parts" issue... Really? As far as I can tell, this may never be fixed if VW doesn't fix the manufacturer issue.

I am driving a car with no horn, no airbag and no way I can even change the time on the car or even use my phone to make phone calls using the cars system to talk without putting the phone to my ear. To me this is a safety issue and I would like VW to either fix this issue, give me a rental car until my vehicle is fixed, or trade it in a no cost to me.

Desired outcome: Communicate w/ customers! We're in the dark! Let > 9k customers w/ the same issue & reduced driving safety know what VW corporate plan is (sounds like nothing) 3) If no quick fix, VW should trade in the broken vehicle for a new vehicle.

Volkswagen Oil consumption

I bought a brand new vw jetta in oct 2020. After driving only 1000 miles, the yellow low level oil light came on. I checked the oil level, it was 1 qt low. I took it back to the dealer. He said that was " normal oil consumption" for a new vehicle. He topped off the oil level. I drove another 1000 miles, the light came back on again. I , again, took my jetta back to dealer. He said to drive another 1000 miles, then bring it back. I've been doing this ( wasting my time ) back and forth getting the same run-around for almost 2 years now.

I am so frustrated. This should not be happening with a brand new car.

I want another new jetta or fix my car .

Desired outcome: FIX THE OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM OR GIVE ME ANOTHER JETTA.

Volkswagen 2014 passat cpo - bad service from dealer

My car was running fine and had no "Check Engine" or any other dash lights before I took it in for service at the Silver Spring VW dealership. Within 30 minutes of servicing the car and on the drive home, All dash lights came on.

Alerted the dealership and they said that I should bring the car in for diagnosis but I will be charged a diagnosis fee. I alerted the person on the call that this only happened after service, they said it didn't matter because they had not touched anything that will cause the dash lights to come on.

I asked if there were any mention in the reports of any of the dash lights being on and they said no. Because it was late (after 5pm that day), we couldn't return the car till the next day.

The next day, after restarting the car twice, all dash lights went off with the exception of the steering wheel light. Call VW dealer and took car in, they refused to diagnose without the $250 charge. Why should I be held liable when there were no lights on till after the service was performed?

With this logic, if you took a car in to any shop for warranty covered service then all the shop has to do for more money is unplug something and make you pay for it. This is very disturbing!

After performing the diagnosis which we paid $250 for, it was determined that a wheel censor was bad and we will be billed $1200+ for it. This car is still under the 2yr 50k mile CPO warranty. We were told that the part will be ordered.

After leaving the dealership this time, the car alarm started to go off while driving and other lights on the dash came on again. Everytime we leave the dealership now, there are more lights. Unbelievable!

Called the dealership back and returned the car since I had just left and was only a few minutes away. The same guy who was steadfast and empathic in saying that there was no way that anything else was touched during the initial service that caused the lights to come on, Well it just so happens that he left the diagnosis tool plugged into the car DIAG port when we were giving the OK to leave which caused all the alarm to come on while driving and other lights to popup on the dash. He removed the tool and the alarm issue was resolved.

This car again is a CPO still under warranty, I dont think we should be charged a diagnosis fee for issues that only began after service and I belive the speed-sensor issue should be covered.

I have experienced a quite a difficult time with dealers covering these CPO cars. I bought two of these and most dealers make it very difficult and most times wont even provide a loaner as you car is held for multiple days.

Desired outcome: Want unnecessary DIAG fee refunded and want $1200 SPEED SENSOR cost covered.
