The Salvation Army USA Personal gains

I believe the salvation army located on the town square in marion illinois is doing some things that are not in good standards with the business. The manager there is buying things for herself, instead of putting out on the sales floor, and she is also letting her friend that owns an antique shop in on things before putting them out on the sales floor. They are also comparing prices to ebay and printing them out and putting on things with expensive pricing. I thought this was supposed to be a place for the less fortunate to shop to get clothing and home items through the public's donations.
I was there one day when workers was bringing in something and I asked how much it was going to be and she said she wouldn't know yet. Then as I was shopping, I overheard her tell the men to put it in the back because she was going to buy it. It was an antique bed. Also, why have they done away with senior discount day? I truly hope someone looks into this situation. People should not be allowed personal gain from a business they are running for charity.

The Salvation Army USA Box pick-up

Hello, May 7, 2020 I had an appointment to pick up a food box. My appointment was at 10:45 am. I arrived around 10:35 am. I got out the car and I starting walking toward the door, I noticed the sign said to stop at the blue line, so I did. I waited until someone came to the door. About 10 minutes later a young lady open the door. She asked with with an ATTITUDE could she help me. I said good morning I am here to pick up the food box. Again with an ATTITUDE she asked me for my name, the ages of the people and my age. I answered her nicely. Well she wasn't so nice. She took the cart and shoved it to me like I was nobody, closed the door and locked it. Well I am a woman and I know that nobody had to help me, but that box was heavy. I am not upset about picking box up. I am upset how she treated me. I am well aware of COVID -19 and we are social distancing. But the being UGLY and MEAN to me and anybody else is not cause for. I will not visit this Salvation Army anymore. I thought this was a Christian organization with christian peoples that are willing to help and care for people with needs. I do appreciate the box, but I will not reach out to this company again. Please hired people that love to serve others with a great attitude regardless of what's going on in their life. If you need to respond to me, please email [protected]@gmail.com Thank you! God bless!

The Salvation Army USA Rude and inappropriate manager

Yesterday when I was about to check out at the Salvation Army in Austin Texas off of W. Louis henna. There was a lady by the name of Joan at the register who is checking people out, while she was in the process of checking out my friend who was in front of me I was looking at some tank tops on the racks next to the register. Mind you my friend did not have a mask on, this employee by the name of Joan then proceeds to scream across the store at me that I am not allowed to shop in the store because I don't have a mask on. I proceeded to tell her that I was in line to check out and that I was with my friend who she was already checking out and that I was planning on leaving. When I proceeded to get in line she still continues to parade me and talk very loudly and very rudely to me while she was waiting on the person in front of me who happened to be my friend but she was not under the realization that we were together. Then when I moved up to the front of the line she continued to be rude to me and make comments to me about my daughter and how I was asking her to make sure that we are standing 6 feet away from her and that I was a very rude person and that I was insensitive and she was continue to embarrass me. She was very loud she was Yelling and continue to embarrass me while I was in line. After about two minutes of this I proceeded to ask her if this was the way that she dealt with all customers and was this an appropriate way to hold a transaction. Then she proceeded to scream and yell for the manager of the store and when I asked her is that how you get your manager she said I'm up here by myself there's nobody else helping me so I have to scream for her. After about 10 minutes of her screaming for the manager somebody finally came out and as I was putting my debit card into the machine after about a minute it said pull card so I proceeded to pull my debit card out and while I did this she screamed in my face and said why did you do that and I explain to her that the machine said pull card and she got very loud and very rude and Said that I jumped the gun and put the car in to soon and called me an idiot and as I put my card back and I was explaining to the manager on duty how rudely she was behaving towards me and the manager said fine we will take care of it and even had to ask the lady to calm down while she was continuing her transaction with me. And as a manager was looking at me and she kept looking at the other employee and rolling her eyes needless to say I spend a lot of money at the Salvation Army and I've always thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this one in round rock but I am letting you know that I will never ever come back to the Salvation Army ever again and I will continue to tell each and every person that I talk to how horrible my experience was until this lady is removed from that store. Her actions were completely inappropriate and no one should ever ever talk to a person that they're waiting on in customer service in that manner! I was completely shocked at the way that she was talking to me and the fact that she was yelling at me. I work in retail and if I ever talk to or treated somebody the way that she treated me I would've been fired on the spot it was that bad. Once again I was completely embarrassed she was completely rude and inappropriate by all means and I really hope that this is not the way that your employees are being trained to help customers especially in these hard times that we're going through.

Recently, a person shot a security guard for berating him for not wearing a mask. Maybe we need a little more of that to get the message across to the paranoiacs - we don't have to adjust our lives to make you feel safer. Getting up in someone's face and making demands is a great way to get hurt.

The Salvation Army USA Apartment manager mistreating tenants

I resided in one of the Salvation Army/McCormick Baron Apartments in St Louis, Mo. The Apartment Manager strives to retaliate each and every time I communicate any issues with her or property manager. Recently, I had my heat turned off, and was told that if I continue complaining I will be evicted. I have contacted the attorney regarding the intentional victimization, constructive eviction Nicole McKoy continues even after the attorney I've met with sent a letter to cease the illegal eviction. It has not ceased. Nicole McKoy is determined to continually deny my rights to peaceful enjoyment of my residence. I have kept several documents and the Salvation Army seems to also turn their back on folks like myself. However, presenting themselves as helping others though allowing management to mistreat tenants on their property. There have been many issues that is currently documented but NOT ONE Salvation Army staff would listen to any of my concerns. However, will listen to abusive staff members such as Nicole McKoy who utilizes her authority to project fear into those she dislikes and demonizing a person's character. Currently, I uphold as a commissioner Notary Public and her constant threats to evict is unnecessary but will help other tenants in need. I'm requesting someone to contact me regarding this matter as Nicole will not cease with constructive eviction after the attorney has requested her to do so. A little more information about me. I have been residing here for two years and it has been pure misery per Nicole McKoy doing since 2018 December she had residents to vandalize my car and so I've made a police report. Using tenants to violate the lease by shouting all late into the night and I've made several complaints on this matter and the police department is working with me on this. When I try to inform the office manager she refuses to take the police report on a lease violation. In the past, there has been the unauthorized entry into my apartment. So this is all to enforce an illegal eviction for me to leave the premises as this has been done to another resident no longer resides at 3010 Apartment. It appears my concerns have fallen on deaf ears. Nicole and staff management has also included certain officers to assist in victimization as I was threatened by an officer regarding a tenant here constant bullying and deliberate harassment on a daily basis. He stated it will not be good for me if he arrests this particular tenant. I did make a complaint to the internal affairs. Nicole McKoy has taken all neighbor violations and using it to build a case against me to evict me from premises. As I said, all is documented, and with hopes, I am contacted because I am not sure why the Salvation Army, The Corporate office is allowing this type of behavior from Nicole McKoy and calling me a liar without considering the facts which are documented incidents. I tried to communicate with her but she instead rather use psychology to twist my words and not provide any assistance. Such as taking all complaints of neighbors disturbing my right to enjoyment does not apply to me but this is the lease I've signed. I'm awaiting Nicole eviction per phone call because of the office manager Jenelle are pitting against me since I called the police on neighbor making excessive loud shouting and will do it all night and have inform office manager and Nicole and she has deliberately turned this complaint into me being evicted..basically, I don't have rights. I know this may be a bit redundant. But the Salvation Army failed me in many ways. Including me use to work for Salvation Army and Annie Rowe Along with Vatel used me to work out at O'Fallon to distribute medication to clients without a pharmacy license then Annie Rowe fired me along with Vatel at the Family Haven Salvation Army St Louis, Mo. This is part of the reason why I am going through such misery and it is all out of retaliation from Salvation Army Management. Again, no one has to listen to me yet.

The Salvation Army USA Disaster fire recovery victim / social worker

Hello my house burned down 10 days ago and I have been out displaced for 8 days due to not having money for a place to stay. I don't have family, I really have a life that was quiet and peaceful and happen to be with roommates as well to help with living expenses. I was referred to you from Red Cross and they said you can help provide assistance for a place to stay. I haven't seen anything that is a little hopeful yet. I have called numerous times, been transferred several times, told to go call this place, talk to that person, come down. I have done everything, I even started a fund raiser for myself that didn't help me yet. Everyday is a day where waking up is a chore, getting up to go where, do what, I have no place to even put my head to rest. I finally have been in contact with Yolanda from social worker sections for disaster recovery service, and she truly made me feel really bad for not doing what she thinks would've helped since the fire. I however am appalled, I don't understand the reasons to not deserve having a place because I am not working at the time, and my husband is a seasonal worker and nothing but rain here. I have no family to help me, I don't know really many people to ask the kind of help I need. Honestly, I am going on without a shower now over a week, I can't reset my mind, can't restart my life again without a place to start it at. I have lost a lot, nearly everything, memories, collectables, tools, hobbies, vital documents, ability to work from home, and I just needed to know someone was out there who cared about this situation. I am scared with the covid virus, I can't go to a drive up for I don't have a vehicle. So to be told no, and I am not helping myself was a devestating blow. I don't understand how it works when judging me comes first, and formost from a person who didn't have any empathy for my situation and would've done things different. So I don't know now, without a hope, a start, honestly it's more humane to euthanize us because it's a true nightmare to have been ignored by the world, to swept on by. I guess I'm hoping to find someone who has any way of getting my situation dealt without judging me. I have been trying all 10 days! And I couldn't quit if I wanted to, I still have to be out in this cold and scary pandemic.
Sincerely,

Jami Berg

The Salvation Army USA Director Korey Giordano, Drew, Dotty, myself

I was on bed rest for three days, from. 3/5-3/7/2020 with pnuemonia. On 3/4 I went to Med North to see my Dr, Dr. Gibble, and she treated me for Pnuemonia. She provided me with a Note that the Salvation Army requested for me to be placed on bedrest until 24hrs after my fever of 101° broke. I missed work onf Friday 3/5/20. My fever finally broke on Monday, 3/8/20. I went to work that morning.
I did not, nor was I allowed to go outside the building all weekend as I was in "sick" status and quite frankly didnt even leave my bed but to get medications. I was asked by staff to wear a mask, as well, so I wouldnt get others sick.
Because I was placed on bedrest, with high fever, (101°), I tried to participate in the Life skills classes via doing the only worksheets I could obtain. I was told that I did not need worry about said classes because I was sick. I went out of my way, above and beyond, to try to complete my classes even though I was sick with a 101° temperature.
On Wednesday, March 11, 2020 I recieved a write-up for not completing the four classes as my responsability alots. I vehemently denied these allegations as I had a very good excuse for missing the one class and only completing three of the Life skills classes. I was told to write why I was unable tocomplete the for classes in the space provided and I did so. I was also told that the write up would be overturned because being sick does indeed excuse someone from their liability if it is documented by a Dr., as mine was. I also wrote the director a request asking if I could meet with her, along with my Easterseals Counselor, Alexis Wagoner, as I felt I was being taken advantage of for I have five disabilities.
Today, Thursday March 12, 2020, I was called by the Social Worker, Drew, and told that the note from the Dr was worthless and that it was only a write up. I told him that it was more about principle than anything at all and that I would not cease fighting thisuntil it was heard by someone who would listen and lend their compassion to my viable reasoning. He said it wouldntbe wise to upset the director and again said, "its just a write-up." At no time was my side even taken into consideration, nor did anyone give creedence to the Dr.s Opinion of which I went out of my way to procure.
After I got off the phone with Drew, I called my Easterseals councilor, Alexis Wagoner, and told her about the incident. She said she would call the director, Korey Giordano, to find out more about why my being sick did not excuse me fromsaid groups? Alexis did, in fact, call Korey trying to gain an understanding of said events. She was told by Mrs Giordano that being sick does not excuse someone from the Life skills classes and that one must go to these classes no matter how sick they are. Not once was the fact that I did do worksheets while I was sick even matter. As a matter of fact it was utilized against me as if because I did the worksheets, clearly I was well enough to go to the groups too?
At any rate, what I have seen here is simple as the Director tries to keep a "paper trail" on the clients to have good cause to kick someone out and free up a bed for another. The shady side here comes when the Salvation Army recieves funding for each new client therefore giving the director incentive to create reasons to write clients up for. Recently 8 people were told to leave because they supposedly did not meet the Life skills group requirements, albeit, most of the individuals did indeed go to the meetings that they were told they didnot go to. They were asked to leave, each of them kicked back out onto the streets with no place to go to.
I have tried on multiple occasions to speak with Korey concerning this matter but have not been given even the slightestbit of acknowlegement. When I asked for a grievanceform to document this incident, I was told there was absolutely NO grievance forms and that I probably didnt want to do that. Why? Maybe because of retaliation? Only speculation but probably close.
I, and Alexis Wagoner from Easterseals are awaiting a time to be able to speak with Korey about these issues as well as to confront her on why it is she has to have these write-ups at all cost? It would have been simple for her to just look atthe paperwork and Drs notes to come to a compassionate understanding of this situation. Unfortunately, Korey was not willing to take a look at, nor meet to discuss this situation, instead, she maintains that someone with Pnuemonia, 101° temp, and on a ton of medication for this illness to maintain the groups at the jeopardy of the rest of the program? Something is not right with this? I know what Christ is about and this is NO part of a Chrisian way.
WWJD? I was taught to live by this creed. What I am not understanding is how Jesus feels about taking advantage of the disabled homeless in order to maximize government funding? Sounds sinful to me. Would Jesus not haveshown compassion for the sick?
Can I please have a meeting with Mrs Korey Giordano, Drew, Alexis Wagoner, and myself to speak about this incident as well as to prevent such foul ethics from being part of my life. I carry myself as a good man and treat others with respect. Is it too .uch to ask tobe treated with a little bit of respect in return?
Humbly Said,
David Peck

The Salvation Army USA unsubscribe

I have just gotten off the phone asking to been unsubscribed. This was my FOURTH TIME I have had to call and request to be removed. The last charge on my account was March 4 th. this very morning. It is easy to see that your raing is one star. I am disappointed with the Salvation Army. I have made many donations over the years. I have donated clothes, furniture and appliances for years. I always supported the Army, and have provided proof supporting the Army over Goodwill, which is more profit oriented and not supportive of their employees ( I used to work for Goodwill ).

The Salvation Army USA re majors. the interns

One time I was supervising in the gym during youth program so u see we were in the him. The children were playing ball. When a boy hits my grandson in the face with a basket ball. Wich my grandson was kind of upset mad so as a reaction he punched the other child. My grandson indeed get grounded for his actions. M
And then there was Monday night and the boys were playing tackle football when my grandson had both his hands with a defense position. When the other boy that he was playing with took his fingers and twisted my grandsons fingers. I felt there was nothing done about it.

Then this evening we were at youth program again. Well it was the end of it and we were getting ready to go home so as weather up the kids . So has we r leaving the gym I witnessed a boy and he had his brother buy his arm and was literally dragging him as he was laying on the gym floor. So then l as a leader asked the boy to let the. Other boy go. So then one of the majors told me that need to shut up and told me that the grandmother of the two boys told him to grab the small boy.you see when each child signs the rule sheet. But yet the rules arent being inforced. Like if a child does something know is wrong.and it is brought to the majors attention. I have been told to not worry about it and then major Laura says to me. Don't worry about it kids will be kids

You see last mother's day. I became a member of the salvation army. I have even done alot of volunteer work so when the new majors took it all away

The Salvation Army USA unethical behaviour

I am sending this complaint because I have been attacked in the Salvation Army store for being gay. Tim and I have shopped your stores for years as we sell upcycled items in our store. We have never had a problem. April 26 2019 my partner of 32 years passed away. Tim and I both knew Joe shraupp threw your store as he worked there. In May I let him move in with me as he was going thru a tough time, Joe is (straight). I wont go into full details but will highlight them since I am considering a lawsuit and also contacting my media friends to cover this story as it should never happen to anyone in your stores again. Since Joe moved in with me he has been harassed of being gay by management and employees of the store, he has been physicaly attacked with sexual body contact. This has been done by Mike and Richard of the store and has been ongoing. One day I came into the store and the manager was with Richard in the back corner of the store. Angala said hi Teddy bear, oh I am sorry only Joe can call you Teddy bear. I told her my name is Ted and Joe don't call me that. Richard then proceeded to to call me a [censored], queer and a sodomizer, Angala just laughed. I was upset and walked away. after I purchases my furniture i went to the back to load. I approached angale and told her how I felt and it was wrong, I also told her to stop and stop teasing Joe for being gay as they use me to do it. a month later while i was standing in line to pay she flys up holds up a pink shirt and yells Ted you should by this it's your color. In the meantime weekly Joe is still being teased about being gay. On January 31st I had the chance to meet Justin he is the overal stores manager for the area. I went in the office and tld him what was going on, he said he would deal with it. I heard Angale confessed to him about the issues but I don't see anything was done about it. Angala, Kristian are doing perscription klonopins and Mike suplies them. They are all flying high at times in the store. Justin knows this. recently Richard called Joe and was calling me a [censored], queer and told Joe I was just mad at him because I cant suck his d####. I still go in the store but not as much because I feel like I will be attacked again at any time . I can be contacked about this issue for further information at [protected].
Thank You
Ted

The Salvation Army USA clothing return

Normally I redonate items I purchase that don't fit me but after one shopping trip I had several things that didn't fit. I went to the store to exchange out for other items and the woman at the desk said that they normally do let customers exchange out but she needed to get her manager. The "manager" came out and like a broken record-"we don't take returns". I wasn't returning anything, I wanted to exchange. I spend thousands of dollars there a year, I'm at that particular store at least 2 times a week buying clothes. I have friends that shop there as well.
Now that I have had this experience, I won't be returning to any salvation army store unless this is resolved. If it isn't resolved, you have lost at least 4 customers that were devoted to shopping at a reputable charitable center to put money towards this charity to help others.
Not allowing for exchange after you were told they normally allow it was unacceptable for someone that spends so much money for this cause.

My email is [protected]@yahoo.com, I would appreciate a response and a resolve.

I went to the Salvation Army today in Las Vegas. I purchased several items and as I was walking to my car going over receipt that was not itemized so its hard to understand pricing. I also just noticed stains on an item that I just purchased 2 minutes before. I went back in the store to talk about receipt and exchange the stained item. I was told by the employee that policy is not to accept exchanges or return. I said to him you just checked me out and I missed the stain. He said they are donated items and would not exchange item and started laughing at me under his mask. I said it is not funny and in a sarcastic nasty way he says Happy holidays! I have donated and purchased many items to the Salvation Army. I will not be doing that any longer. This so called charity is overpricing donated items. I see pricing for $10 - 15 for tops, sweaters and pants that they received for free! It is also there job to go through the items and not put damaged or stained up items on the floor. How are you helping people with low incomes with those prices and the people who do come in to purchase items they treat badly?!

The Salvation Army USA repricing

This store receives items with price tags already on them and removes them and puts a new price that is double of that tag. I go to both stores in my area. Hesperia and victorville. This is the ONLY store that does this. I have complained to the manager and she said they can do that if they want. Most employees there are very rude and disrespectful. They are taking advantage of us that donate and putting prices that are excessively expensive. This is supposedly a non profit organization and in this store they are taking advantage of people of low income. I have taken pictures and taken video of how rude and humiliating they treat customers.

The Salvation Army USA poor customer service

I called in at the appropriate time this morning to inquire about financial assistance for my water bill this month. The lady took my information down and had another woman call me back named Demitri. After explaining my monthly income (which is currently only a small amount of child support a month that DOESN'T always come when it is supposed to, while I'm actively searching for employment)...She was VERY rude to me and lacked basic customer service skills and basically accused me of lying because I told her my child support payments have been less than the court ordered amount and have not come each like as scheduled (which I DO have a proof of that could be shown). She did not uphold the Salvation Army's code of conduct and was unprofessional and unpleasant to speak to. This was very unhelpful as I am already struggling and not having basic necessities such as water is why I was calling to begin with. This was a horrible experience for me.

The Salvation Army USA amount of garbage in salvation army parking lot

the Salvation Army in Oakland leaves mattress sprawled out throughout its parking lot. These aren't covered from the weather and the piles keep getting bigger and dirtier. I presume they do this so the local homeless can take a mattress but it just ends up in homeless people making forts out of mattresses, contributing to the garbage issue in Oakland. Furthermore, since the homeless come to this spot to rummage, clothes are often left scattered throughout the parking lot also, from the bins. I suggest the Salvation Army holds the mattresses and give one per person. I don't see how leaving a pile of mattress out all the time in the rain, will help anyone as they collect mold and dirt. I took a photo and this is after the lot has been cleaned up (which is a first in 2 months).

The Salvation Army USA pricing

We go to a ton of Salvation Army stores. I have visited from Little Rock to Memphis to New Orleans and this store has outrageously over priced every item. The ladies were plain out rude to my husband. We love shopping in every small town we pass through but I will not go back to this store. They have priced things at retail and when we asked to see a clock ($100) she put it on the counter and did not say a single word. My husband is twenty years military and great at small talk but they were plain out silent. He asked them about the prices and no response. It was like a twilight zone episode. I think you need to look into how they are pricing items for their own gain. If no one buys them they are probably marking them down later and picking them off.

The Salvation Army USA manager

I used to get stuff from the dumpster till the store put up no trespassing signs. Because the staff at the store throws donations away without even looking at them in trash bags never opened I have never made any money from what I removed from the dumpster. I am on disability and have very little money and the community where I live is a very poor community with a lot of elderly people who live there. So I took only what either I or someone in the community could use. If I couldn't use it I didn't take it. My house burned the first of December and I lost everything. So I went to the oxford store and told the manager that I used to get stuff from the dumpster and I never made a mess and even cleaned up after other people. I told her about what I was doing she was very rude to me and when I asked about could she maybe let me have some of the stuff she throws away she got even more rude and said everything she through away was trash. I didn't argue with her but a lot of the time the "trash " is really nice stuff. She didn't offer any help when I had just told her my house had burned and I lost everything. If you want I will get pictures of the stuff that is being thrown away. And I wanted to know if there was any way I could get the stuff that is being thrown away so I could keep giving to the people who need help

The Salvation Army USA unethical behaviour

After purchasing new furniture, I contacted the Salvation Army location to offer to donate a sectional and a corner cabinet. On November 7, 2019, after submitting photos of my sectional and china cabinet, I received approval via email and voicemail from Joe and was issued a ticket number (633870) and a pick up date and time 12/13/19 for my furniture donation. Three days before my new furniture was to be delivered, I emailed to confirm my SA pick up. At that time I was given several excuses why my furniture would not be picked up: It wasn't in good enough condition, Joe was no longer working there, they had no record of my donation, etc. I explained my position to Sean and his manager, John. The donation had been approved and I could prove it and now this left me in a very difficult situation. They were no help. I then spoke to Captain Peggy Jennings with SA to complain about this treatment and she told me she would have the person in charge, Lt. Joseph Swiftbak, contact me. I still have not heard from anyone. I had to pay $418 to have this furniture removed because I didn't have the time to find another donation center. I did not send in my annual donation nor will I ever donate to SA again unless I hear from someone asap. This is no way to treat your donors.
