Spirit Airlines Points

Credits: I was to be credited 7500 points back to my account (reinstated) to the original account reservation code TBED8L I need my points to book flights for spring break. I have spent hours on the phone with the complaint department to be told they would call me back and they have never called me back. I want this issue resolved today so I can book my flights, This was during the Hurricane hitting Florida. You were flying empty planes out of Orlando. It was reported I was a no show, How did my suitcase get to MSP if I was a no show? I ended up Buying a ticket on Sun County to get to MSP, The coat of that ticket was $148.00 I feel you owe us to the points plus

Desired outcome: receive points back. I expect to hear back from you today with a favorable outcome I'm sure the news stations would like to hear how to treat 64-year-old disabled women trying to get home to meet her new great granddaughter.

Spirit Airlines Spirit does not allow unsubscribing from spam

Spirit Airlines does not allow you to unsubscribe from their email list. I started receiving spam emails nearly every day after booking a flight with them. When I navigated to their unsubscribe page through the Unsubscribe link in their email, I found that the page is set up to *prevent* you from actually unsubscribing. The page allows you to check off what type of promotional email you receive from them along with a checkbox to "Unsubscribe from all". However, if you check "Unsubscribe from all", the button to save your changes greys out and does not allow you to proceed. You are forced to choose to stay subscribed to promotional mail. I have attached two (2) images and one (1) video to this complaint: These show my attempts to unsubscribe from all their promotional emails and how the page does not let you proceed unless you choose something.

When this first happened, I tried to contact their customer support via text. Their customer support was completely unhelpful: They claimed that they were not able to manually remove anyone from their user list. They tried to send me to pages that did not apply to my situation, e.x. sending me a PDF of their privacy policy. They told me to keep trying to use the link after clearing all my browsing history, which obviously did not work as this was a website functionality issue. When it became clear that this person was not helping me, I asked for their full name or employee ID #, which they did not give me - they directed me to talk to their customer support phone line and then ended the session. It was wholly unhelpful and they completely ignored my complaints about the non-functioning unsubscribe list.

I then tried to email them, including the same attachments as described above. All they did was redirect me to the exact same non-functioning unsubscribe link - they clearly did not read my emails at all. I had to email them *three* times, attaching the images and video each time, for them to say they would forward my concerns to their IT team. I have attached one (1) screenshot of their email to me to illustrate this point - all the emails were functionally the same, until the very end.

In the end, I used a third-party anti-spam program to forcibly remove my email from their list.

At absolute best, this is a company with a completely incompetent customer service team who go to all lengths to ignore a customer's concerns and provide solutions that do not help. At worst, this is an intentional tactic to force unwilling customers to stay subscribed to their spam promotional mail.

Desired outcome: Spirit's IT team needs to build an actual functioning unsubscribe page that works, and does not force you to choose to stay subscribed to promotional mailing.

I meant to submit this under Spirit, not BBB. I've contacted customer support to remove this.

I've had exactly the same problem. When I click the unsubscribe link, I get this error message. Then when I "Unsubscribe from all" the "Save Changes" button is grayed out.

Isn't this a violation of the CAN-SPAM Act? Will the FTC or some other government agency do anything if they refuse to fix this?

I'd recommend submitting a BBB complaint. I did, and Spirit said they'd forward the issue to their IT team so BBB marked it as resolved, but clearly they've done nothing.

I face exactly the same problem today. Tried to resolve in many ways but not possible. I don't want to block spirit email because I can lose important flight information. Anyone, please help. Thanks.

I submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. Spirit received it and their plan of action was to forward this to their IT team. However it looks like they haven't even tried to fix this if you're still having problems.

Please submit your own complaint to BBB! If enough people do, it might actually make them do something.

Spirit Airlines Missed flight and spirit automatically cancelled return flight

On 12/30/2022 I was scheduled to depart John Wayne Airport on a flight to Boise, ID. Due to traffic, weather and a closed TSA security line I missed my flight. Went to the Spirit counter to request another flight and was told that no flights were available. I then asked for a refund so that I could make travel arrangements with another airline, was told no refund was available. I booked a one way flight with Allegiant Air thinking that my return flight with Spirit was still valid. When attempting to check in for my return I learned that Spirit had cancelled my reservation at that no refund would be forth coming. All of this occurred due to the Southwest Airlines meltdown. This was my first and last experience flying with Spirit Airlines. Customer service and satisfaction are non exisitent with this provider. Confirmation code: PD556V

Desired outcome: Refund for the return travel cost.

Spirit Airlines Flight connection missed and alternate flight not available

My wife and I were in a flight from Los Angeles, CA (LAX) to Fort Lauderdale, FL with a layover in Austin, TX. Dec 20, 2022. Cont#VYI9YE (Kenneth Barton and Birgit Muller).

The flight to Austin, TX (NK512) left Los Angeles, CA approximately 3 hours behind schedule. When at departing gate I said I would rather try and find an alternative flight on another airline then be stuck in Austin if connecting flight could not be made. The gate attendant told me not to worry because the airplane was going to Fort Lauderdale after Austin and I could not miss connection.

The airplane was not the same to go to Florida and the connection was missed. (flight NK512) Dec 20, 2022 Cont#VYI9YE. I was then told at the ticket check in that it would be two days before they could get my wife and I on an alternative flight to Florida. Our luggage was also lost. I wend to the American Airline desk and purchased two one way flights from Austin to Fort Lauderdale, FL (receipts and tickets attached $478.60 + $478.60 + $35.00 + $35.00 = $1,027.20). Bags were delivered three days later.

Toiletries - $10.70 (receipt attached)

Ross - clothes $240.60 (receipt attached)

Desired outcome: Reimbursement of 1,278.50 plus 2 round trip tickets in continental USA

Spirit Airlines Airline ticket

To Whom it May Concern: December 20, 2022

Please be advised I had made reservations by phone and booked a ticket from Orlando Florida to Atlantic City, New Jersey from Nov 30, 2022 to December 14, 2022. My traveling number is MWHL3B-03 On November 29, 2022 the day before my departure, I never received the confirmation of the reserved flight. When I contacted Spirit, I was informed they had typed the incorrect email address. When I arrived at the airport since I never received the confirmation of my ticket, I paid the luggage ahead of time in the amount of $64.00 both ways, however when I arrive at the airport, they charge me again for the luggage of $99 and they had me flying to New York instead of New Jersey.

I called to complain if they had typed the correct email, I would be aware of the over charge for the luggage. I was informed by the Spirit Airlines to contact the Complaint Department as they originally had me flying to New York instead of New Jersey, I spent 3 hours on the phone trying to get this matter corrected.

I would like to be reimbursed for my ticket and the aggravation and time it causes me because the agent typed the incorrect email address. I can be reached at [protected] if you would like to discuss the matter in greater details.

Sincerely

Julie Hatley

Spirit Airlines Cancellation of flight #3159

We had reserved a flight #3159 on Dec 26,2022. from CLE to Miami, FL. The flight was cancelled, and we did not go on vacation as planned. My mastercard was charged $2073.54, $354.00 and $17.98 all on Nov 4, 2022. I am owed $2445.52 from Spirit Airlines. Not only did Spirits cancellation of this flight cause problems, we missed our connecting flight in Miami to Bridgetown, Barbados. We paid $11,000 for a resort in Barbados that was not used. I am asking for a refund of $2073.54, the amount charged on my credit card for a cancelled flight. Our reservation was for 4 people, myself, my husband and 2 sons. Confirmation #XB48JB. I have been unsuccessful trying to reach Spirt Airlines for 8 straight days now, as no human ever comes to the phone, and there is no opportunity to leave a message.

Desired outcome: I want a refund of $2073.54 on my credit card or in the form of a check. I do not want flight credit.

Spirit Airlines Complaint

I bought my ticket for a round trip on 10/20/2022 for $146.18. I also bought the flight insurance which sounded like it included date change for return flight. It did not and I was charged $99 to cancel, When I received my account statement, I saw that I was also charged $254.95 on 10/20/2022. I've called 6 different numbers so far...4 said I had reached a number that was no longer in service,

These were the first listed number on the Spirit Airline search for Miramar Fl - their headdquarters. the 2nd two took me to a recording that told me to go online, which I did. Online you immediately have the opportunity to chat with a representative who first seems very helpful & ask what the issue is, Then - - -

you are told they would be happy to assist and do whatever is possible if you pay $1 which is refundable... but when you read the fine print you see you are signing up for a monthly servbice, etc. It's a mess and a rip off. so far it is looking as if I will never see that $254 again, what I thought was a $146 round trip was actually $401.23 not counting the $71 I was charged for my luggage at the desk then another $99 for being 2.5 lbs overweight... so GRAND total was $571.23. then a month later $99 to cancel flight back & rescheule. The day I was flying back was Friday after Thanksgiving... so they made a whopping amount of money for that seat too. Unless, it is my absolute last option available & someone had died or deathly ill and it is my only option to get to my destination... I WILL NEVER EVER EVER EVER fly SPIRIT

Desired outcome: $254.95 returned, a number that is REAL, an online helpline that is REAL, & NOT PAY for it & how to make contact to speak to anyone- chat with anyone with Spirit - other than driving 2 hours to the Airport...

Spirit Airlines Baggage lost and time wasted

Hi, I am submitting this now because I am back from my trip and at my computer. Your site sent me in circles on my phone, preventing me from doing this sooner. I flew into Salt Lake City, UT, on November 22 to visit my daughter (who lives in Rock Springs, WY, so it's a good 3-hour drive). We had planned on going to her boyfriend's parent's house on Thanksgiving, and they are in Freedom ID, another long drive. Owing to the 22nd, I got off the plane late, and my luggage didn't show up. There was nobody there that could help. I spent an hour speaking to people and looking for answers while my daughter drove in circles waiting.

The next day I spent most of my day calling different Spirit numbers the airport provided me. I got rude reps, reps who gave me other numbers. One representative told me that if I didn't file a complaint online, she couldn't help me. When I tried, as I said, the website was going in Circles. When I finally submitted one online, I received an error message asking me to call you directly. I am trying to remember how or who I finally spoke with, but they took my info. I then had to go to a store and buy clothes and other things I needed from my luggage bag. I was so uncomfortable because I didn't have enough time to shop and nothing fit me.

On our way to ID, I received a call stating that they found my luggage; Boston Airports Spirit forgot to load it into the plane. They had it shipped out the next day and told me I could come to get it. I explained that I was about 3 hours out and didn't want to waste any more time on my trip. It was a six-hour drive to the airport and back! The rep told me she would call me right back... she didn't. We returned to my daughter's apartment on November 26 to find my luggage outside her door, just sitting there for anyone to take. I cannot begin to tell you how much time and frustration this caused. I didn't have the 150$ for the luggage, and now I had to buy clothes! Reaching anyone for help was almost impossible. I only see my daughter every couple of years. My time with her is more valuable than I can express!

To make matter worse I was supposed to have a window seat on both flights to WY, I did the first flight which was an hour, and I bought internet for my computer so I could work. What I read online was that I'd have it for the whole trip, but on my second flight, I was informed I had to purchase it again. Also, I bought wifi for my phone because I can't log into my computer without an authenticator sent to my phone. On the second trip, I was in the middle seat. The woman to the right of me was too large for her seat and sat on top of the arm rails and ontop of me! I certainly wasn't paying another 20.00 dollars for wifi I would have waited for that flight had I known. The whole thing was a gigantic [censored]show. Sorry, but it was! My b-day present from her was a flight out to see her, and this happened to stress me out almost the entire time.

Desired outcome: I would like a refund for my luggage fees, and for the clothes I bought. Another chance to see my daughter and confiscation for the horrible experience.

Spirit Airlines I am complaining about the Scale of Luggages

Dear Spirit Airlines Customer service

I hear a lot of complain about this Spirit Airlines and now it's true for me. My sister had scheduled flying from LAX to NEWARK and her luggage weighted only 38 lbs. But I don't know what something is wrong with the Spirit Airlines scale and her luggage went up to 42 lbs. The Fight Service guy said that: She had to take out 2 extra or being charged for overweight. My friends used to be like that, and they said that: - your ticket is cheap, but you are going to charge more money for the other things and the service on the flight is not good as the other Airlines.

If you would like to have a lot of passengers going your Airline, please change your way of doing business.

Thanks

Spirit Airlines Damaged luggage

August 22, 2022, Air flight from NYC to Myrtle Beach, SC 6:30am.

When I arrived in South Carolina at the airport. A yellow ticket was handed to me that indicated my luggage was damaged. The entire wheel/Cast was broken off. I couldn't even roll my suitcase across the floor I had to balance and drag it to my taxi. I filed the claim on 8/25/22. I sent Spirit airlines all the requested information, the flight number, the dates and a photograph of the damaged luggage. They said I had to wait 30-60 days for a response. I waited and inquired again, then they said how much was the luggage, which they did not ask on 8/25/22. I gave them all the info, the amount, the color of the luggage and where I purchased it. I am annoyed because they are still giving me the run around. I need assistance in getting my refund for my damaged luggage. Spirit Airlines are not being supportive in resolving my issue; therefore, I am filing this complaint against them. The incident # is MYRNK61603518

Desired outcome: Spirit Airlines to pay for my damaged luggage, $154.00 plus $100.00 for the aggravation they have put me through. I just bought this luggage and used it for the first time, they were irresponsible & negligent in handling my luggage.

Spirit Airlines Unauthorized $69.95 charge

I reviewed a credit card statement and found this $69.95 charge. The transaction date was 10/27/2022 and charged on 10/29/2022. I flew Spirit one time almost 10 years ago and it was awful. I called Spirit last night and was told it was a membership fee. I said I never authorized or joined anything with them. She said I was the right person to talk to but then said she couldn't transfer me. She said someone would call me back in 60 seconds. Never happened. This looks like it could be a class action lawsuit waiting to happen. How did they get my current Visa expiration and e digit ccv?

Desired outcome: Refund asap and an official letter explaining how this happened.

Spirit Airlines Flight time arrangements/ cleanliness

The conjoining flight you guys have from montego bay, jamaica to fort lauderdale, florida is timed to close for your passengers to be able to get their luggage on time and meet their next flight! My fiance and i just flew with you on tuesday [protected]) and we waited for our luggage for over 45 minutes. With the time change from montego to FLL you really should be more considerate of your passengers. Also the cleanliness of your airlines... I am appalled you are even still flying! there was a blood smear on the wall above the window seat in front of me. i understand to crack a joke about something that is truly funny! But to say, "maybe" after i had politely asked for him to clean it. Now my mother in law and her husband are stuck in fort lauderdale because of how close your timing is to the conjoining flight. How is this their fault that the flights were late but yet they still have to purchase new flight tickets! SHAME ON YOU FOR YOUR LACK OF HUMAN DECENCY

Desired outcome: DO BETTER FOR YOUR PASSENGERS!!!! AFTER ALL THEY KEEP YOU IN THE AIR!

Spirit Airlines Carry-on luggage and cost during an emergency flight

Good afternoon, I flew Spirit for the first time 10/10/22 from Manchester NH to Orlando FL. It was not a pleasure trip, it was an emergency - end-of-life trip. I landed and was to get a shuttle to take me to The Villages to be picked up to be taken to a family member who was in Hospice care at home. I packed a carry-on, which I always use to fly American Airlines, and it was an inch too long and the position of my wheels was at each corner, so I was forced to check my carry-on, at a whopping price of 79.00. I explained the nature of my trip and needed to leave the airport as soon as the flight landed, but was promptly told that this was the policy with no workaround. The flight landed in Orlando and it took them so long to get the baggage on the belt, that I missed my shuttle, and was massively delayed getting to where I needed to go. All I can say is the lack of compassion and understanding left an impression, not only on me but those who were waiting for me. I had no time to spare. I can honestly say, that I could not recommend your airline to anyone. Imagine if it was your parent or loved one you were trying to get to.

Spirit Airlines Cancelled flight left stranded in Atlanta

I am reaching out to you about this flight cancellation. when the information below will help. however, I like to

explain to you that the customer service offered a voucher to replace leaving me and my party stranded in Atlanta

the voucher is for $50.00 per person. and I really do not want this, I like to obtain my full reimbursement since

when I paid for my flight, I had to make a full payment, not a voucher for what i like to pay.

my information is SINJ4D

Our original departure was from Miami and connections to Atlanta to final destination to Minnesota,

as we arrive to Atlanta, we found out our connection flight was cancelled. we have no intention of staying in

Atlanta it was just a connection, with that we had to scramble to find a place to stay and find our way back home.

we had an event in Minnesota that started at 8:00 am

at this point not even for the expenses of the overnight hotel we are asking for, just the full reimburse flight, not in a

voucher, as the terrible experience of being left stranded is not something we like to experience again is.

I hope o hear something from you soon, (your assistant) I know how the world works.

Desired outcome: I like to have my flight refund and the hotel expense in Atlanta covered

Same thing here on June 22 2023. They cancelled, gave me no option other Than my spending 200 bucks to stay in Newark until the next day. Spent 38 minutes on phone with sprit, they booked me for next day flight and they never actually finalized my next day flight. They blamed the csr agent I talked to. They offered a standby OR yet another day overnight, had to choose one or the other. I could not spend a second night in Newark and paid thru the nose for a jetblue flight that day. 800 dollars in hotels and another airline ticket later sprit offered 50 dollar voucher. My 153 dollar spirit flight now north of 800 dollars out of pocket and spirit made zero effort to cover the expense I incurred because of their cancelation

Spirit Airlines Fraudulent charges

I have a charge to my bank account today for “SPIRIT AIRLINES ONBOARD” for $27. I did NOT purchase anything from spirit. I flew a few weeks ago but my girlfriend paid for the tickets. I did make one purchase on the plane with my debit card. I called spirit and was basically told if I don’t have an open reservation and number she can’t look anything up for me and to report it to my back. This is ridiculous! They are charging people fraudulently.

Desired outcome: I want my money back and I want them to erase my banking info if they have saved it. They are legally not permitted to save my debit card info.

Spirit Airlines Flight from Orlando to Boston

Flight on the 27 of September Orlando to Boston. Spent 13 years as a travel agent, Have been on 1,000s of flight all over the world including Aeroflot, Ethopian Airlnes, etc. and have never had as bad of service as this airline (except Frontier on the return). Charged almost double for my luggage then what I paid for my seat. Got to the gate and found out their check-in people sent me to the wrong gate in the wrong terminal, yes the wrong terminal. Then we waited for the flight attendents that were an hour late (we should have left without them because there was no service). The Captain did keep us informed. But that did not make up the time and we arrive late. Judging by the complaints on this board this company and Frontier need to be investigated by the Federal Government.

Desired outcome: Refund of the $132.00 for luggage and an apoliogy in writting.

Spirit Airlines Double charges for seat

This is regarding confirmation: PJLIRD from 9/17/22 from Las Vegas to Orlando. I purchased a seat for $35, and then the morning of the flight, I received notification that I received a flight bid for an exit row seat for $25. I explained the situation to the ticketing agent, and she said that I would not receive both charges. I did, and I was doubled charged.

I talked to custome service a week ago, and I was told that I would receive a reimbursement. Nothing has been credited to my account yet.

Please advise,

Marcia Thomas

Desired outcome: Refund for $35

Spirit Airlines Flight from Vegas to SNA

Flight was horribly delayed from Vegas back to SNA Aug 29th changed from 7:15pm to 6:30AM next day, we were notified last minute as we got to the airport around 5-5:30pm and almost ready to board the plane. There was not enough time to arrange for housing or switch. We did not have enough time to respond and they did not give advanced notice so we could have switched to another airline. This is for reservation DLN1RX.

Desired outcome: Refund of Ticket
