Safelite AutoGlass Windshield replacement — 2017 q3 audi

Very disappointed with the services on 8/19/2023. Windshield has smears on the bottom right (new tech that came out today 9/9/2023 confirmed) and there is a label that the first tech said would disappear after a couple of days that reads: Pinkleton - Ulta Kool (cigarette label on an Audi windshield? How offensive as an African American, senior citizen. I have been taken advantage of and I'm requesting a discount, return of funds (paid a $500 deductible) and a new windshield, ASAP, or I'll be reaching out to the BBB. Also, when the first tech struggled to detach my rearview mirror and put it back on, he put it on incorrectly and the second tech that came out today (Jason) fixed it. I've also reached out to Geico and customer service reps, today, that tried transferring me, but no one picked up. I am a tax paying citizen and I expect better from this company. I am looking forward to a swift response in getting this matter resolved.

I should have done my own research. I definitely would not have used this company based on their low reviews! Shame on my insurance carrier for referring this company.

The windshield has to be used and not sure what I paid $500 for?!?! Very perturbed with Geico! Maybe that's why the tech kept laughing, he realized it too!

Please note, when I got into my car, the rearview mirror popped off -- it is not fixed! Also, why would a tech come out today with no windshield to replace? My window slot was 8 am - 12 pm and he arrived approximately around 11:30 am with no windshield, absurd! I am requesting a Caucasian to replace my windshield/ fix my rearview mirror -- and not subjecting me to hear about rocks/dirt!

What a day wasted!

Only availability for a replacement is on a Saturday.

Knowing that a part is not available and not contacting the client for possible rescheduling. Client arrives and is turned back.

Unable to reach the manager or personel at the sheduling location.

Manager should be on top of these issues.

Safelite AutoGlass Technician ran a red light stop while testing my vehicle after windshield repair

Please assist. On 12 July 2023, my vehicle (2018 Volvo) was serviced by a safe lite technician named Arthur (#[protected]) to fix my broken windshield. When he finished the repairs, Mr. Arthur drove our car to test the repairs. While out driving our car, he ran a red light stop at the speed of 15 mph resulting in me and my wife receiving a traffic violation (Citation # PSCP23019176) of 50.00 dollars. I called and emailed customer care to have this matter investigated and resolved. To date, no one has contacted me to fix my complaint. I am disappointed and upset at this point, and I would like this matter settled. Please get in touch with me for more information (I tried uploading a PDF of the citation; format not supported) and to help resolve this complaint. Thank you. Service work order# [protected]

Desired outcome: Reimbursement for the citation $50.00; apology.

Safelite AutoGlass Windshield repair

I went in yesterday for a windshield replacement. I'm going down the road after the repair. And all of my sensors go off on my information board. I go to Toyota dealer to find out. Taylor tells me as the windshield needs to be recalibrated. I returned today for a warranty repair. Your employees were rude, rude, rude and the service was terrible. They proceed to tell me that there's nothing wrong with the vehicle. After spending 45 minutes waiting. They tell me that they can't do anything to my truck. Your employees were rude and the service was terrible. I will never ever recommend safe light. I'm calling my Insurance Company, and I'm going to Toyota to have this replaced. USA a should take you off of their recommendation sheet. I will certainly give you a 0 rating.

Desired outcome: I wouldn't let you all fix a broken glass.Bottle

Safelite AutoGlass Windshield

Had a small crack in corner of passenger side windshield. Repair tech came out to fix it and we were told that it could be fixed no problem. We were never informed of the possibility of the windshield cracking during the repair. Well, now windshield has a large crack running up through passenger side windshield. The safelite in Hickory NC was the ones doing the repair and now they are telling me that they are not responsible for the crack and I will be responsible for $500 deductible for the new windshield. It would have only took them saying that during the repair that there is a possibility of a windshield cracking but they did not explain that to me. Which if I would have known that i could have had them hold off on repair. This is not having properly trained employees to make sure that customer is inform on things that could occur. I DO NOT feel that it is my reasonability to pay for the windshield

Desired outcome: NEW WINSHIELD

OMG same thing happened to us, from a Safelite location in Pine Brook, NJ. For us it wasn't even 48hrs later, that windshield cracked, because of the way their repaired the "pea size" chip that we could of hold off repairing for a very long time.

Safelite AutoGlass Windshield repair

Beware: Safelite never disclosed that when they replaced my windshield that they would destroy the dashcam mount, rendering the camera useless. (The dashcam was a Vantrue Element 1 Lite which utilizes an electrostatic pad and adhesive mount.) Safelite refused to repair or replace the dashcam, and they refused to offer any financial compensation. Very unsatisfactory.

Safelite AutoGlass Windshield repair

On July 3, 2023 my husband was supposed to have his windshield replaced or repaired on a new truck. The windshield was cracked from a flying rock on the interstate. However, it was not replaced it was supposedly repaired with a proxy and some kind of instrument. Due to the fact that we have insurance on 4 vehicles with the same company and Safelite is supposed to be their company of choice, the crack looks no different and is in eyeview of the passenger. As I mentioned earlier, it is a new vehicle and this is not acceptable. I will also make a call to your company tomorrow to discuss this in detail. We pay high price to have insurance and this is the 3rd windshield over the years that you have had to fix and it is always a patch never a replacement of the windshield. I know this is cheaper for you than a new windshield, but there is something to be said for pleasing the customer. I will also be calling our insurance company as well to let them know of the situation and our disappointment in your service.

Safelite AutoGlass Unprofessional rear window replacement work of my Truck.

I would like to share my negative experience and advise against choosing Safelite Auto Glass for glass repairs. Jamaica, Queens, NY

on July 11, 2023. Upon having my rear window replaced, I noticed that the new glass was not aligned properly. When I approached the manager to request a correction, they refused to address the issue and even exhibited unprofessional behavior towards me. This lack of willingness to rectify the problem and their disrespectful treatment were highly disappointing.

I believe it's important to bring attention to these matters so that others can make informed decisions when choosing an auto glass repair service.

Desired outcome: I request that Safelite Auto Glass rectify the misalignment issue with my truck's rear window and restore it to its original condition.

Safelite AutoGlass Rear view mirror detached from windshield

Good morning,

I worked on the 4th of July yesterday and upon returning to my car after work I shut my door when my rear view mirror completely detached and fell. The windshield where the rear view was has an indentation of missing glass. This was a very anxious drive home as I am just worried the integrity of the glass isn’t at its safest form. I left a voicemail for my local office or so I thought and attempted to call them again this morning. I was unsuccessful in getting a hold of a real person after three calls. I scheduled a warranty call online but the first available appointment isn’t until January 11th. I don’t have a rear view mirror so I’m forced to drive across two interstates with no rear view mirror, and unable to confirm with someone my options for glass. I do not wish to have my glass replaced with some thing that isn’t going to be strong or give me the same issue in the same matter of time. I don’t feel confident that my windshield will not causing issues again, causing severe harm to myself. Please if someone could contact me about this issue I greatly appreciate it.

Desired outcome: Replaced windshield/

Safelite AutoGlass Damage to my vehicle

I scheduled to have a technician from their Palm Harbor, FL location come out and replace my 2015 Nissan Armada windshield on 03/13/23. During the process, the technician damages the interior fabric of my vehicle and the exterior plastic base. I was told that the manager was aware of the damage and he would contact me regarding getting my vehicle repaired. After two weeks I called the location and was told by the manager, Chris that the parts was being ordered and they will call to schedule the repair. That was well over 3 months ago. It doesn't take this long to get replacement parts ordered. Every time I call customer service, I'm placed on hold for an extended period of time and no one takes my calls. The customer service representatives all say the same thing, "Chris will return my call". I haven't spoke to him since that first call, which I made. This is unexceptable and unprofessional. I paid to have my windshield repaired and now I can't get them to repair the damages made by their technician.

Desired outcome: Pay for my vehicle repairs

Safelite AutoGlass Ordered wrong windshield

They came to my house to fix a small crack but they said it would show soI opted to get a new windshield. They said they could not do it at my house and to bring it to the getto on Harmon Ave at 10:30, Appt is at 11:00. They come back and tell me they ordered a glass for a CX-3 and mine is a CX-30. So now I have to drive a half hour to get back to Harmon Ave. The guy was right in my garage when he wrote down CX-3 instead of CX-30. Stupid shoddy work.

Safelite AutoGlass Returned vehicle with wrong keys

My car was burned with damage to the interior of the car, headliner and driver seat mostly. The windshield was cracked due to the heat and the driver side window was broken as a result of putting the fire out. I took my car to Safelite to replace the windows and I made my appointment online. The morning of the service the tech contacted me and informed me that they couldn’t do the service unless I brought my car into a store location although I scheduled it to be done offsite. I arrived at the store that afternoon to drop my car off. The tech looked over the car and accepted my keys. About ten minutes later the shop calls me to say that I needed to pay for the service prior to them beginning work on my car. Mind u I had contacted Safelite prior to service and was told I could use a check to pay for service because my debit card was damaged and I hadn’t gotten my replacement. Safelite closed for the day without starting work on my car and I was informed they opened at 7 am the next day. I called the next day to provide payment details and was told they would not be able to provide service for me stating the damage was too bad to replace the windows. When I arrived to pick up my car I found my vehicle wouldn’t start even though I was able to drive it there which was about a ten mile drive the previous day. I had to get the car towed back to where I’m staying. And I was trying to figure out what was wrong with car since it was getting spark but wouldn’t start. Didn’t hear the fuel pump engaging so I went out and bought a fuel pump and dropped the fuel tank and that didn’t solve the problem. At this point it gets brought to my attention that the key I have is a logo one key but my key was a replacement transformer key. I attempted to call the store and got an automated service tried emailing the store and I even went as far as texting and calling the service tech that was supposed to work on the car and got no response for two days.

Safelite AutoGlass Windshield

I took my truck to have its windshield replaced as soon as I got there I informed them I will be taking the old windshield with me because I had my own dumpster and I did not need to be charged a $35 recycling fee. I had no problem with them at this point near the end of the job I received a text from my credit card company saying they were charged $239 that actually included the $35 recycling fee. I went to the front desk and I told them I’m taking my windshield did you put it in the back of my truck? They said they did I said, then you charge me for recycling fee they said they would fix it after not hearing from them no confirmation I contacted the head office they said they would look into it. They saw some type of a refund but they couldn’t access it. I woke up this morning to fine they charge me an additional $50 I contacted the front office I was told that because they change my order I would not get the $80 discount I told her, I did not change the order. I just took the windshield. There was no reason to charge me a recycling fee. They will be looking into it she said and try to straighten it out but if I did not jump on top of this, I not only would’ve gotten the $35 recycling fee charge an additional $50 with tax total of $90 overcharged from this company I have already contacted my credit card company and I will be disputing this with her. They fix this or not. I would recommend you go to someone else if you are reading this it has been nothing but a complete nightmare I wish I would’ve paid cash then they would’ve been nothing. They could do about this again they recommend find another company. The reviews are horrible and I understand why I wish I would’ve read the reviews before I went to them. I would’ve gone to someone else it’s been a nightmare.

I just scheduled an appointment and saw the recycling fee. never remember other glass companies charging a recycling or disposal fee. The did send me a promo code after I went to their website. Was going to have the windshiled replaced at the house but then saw there was a $49.99 service charge. I was planning on taking the windshield with me and dumping at work or taking to the body shop around the corner. Worst case I put in my recycling bin :D. Thanks for the heads up I'll take cash.

Safelite AutoGlass Road rage incident involving a Safelite driver

A Safelite driver (License Plate: 1HA0EJ) followed me into a parking lot in Tempe, Arizona. When I parked my vehicle, he parked in back of me. He then got out of the Safelite vehicle, stood in front of my car and blocked me in. When I got out of my car, he yelled at me: "That's how you drive?" He then accused me of cutting him off, stated he got a picture of my license plate and threatened me that his boss would be contacting me. The driver then left the parking lot.

I felt very uncomfortable about being followed, blocked in so I couldn't leave, and physically confronted. I will be reporting this incident to the Tempe Police, as a case of road rage, stalking, harassment and false imprisonment.

Desired outcome: The driver's behavior was unacceptable. I would like him to be coached that his actions are considered a form of road rage and it is unacceptable to follow someone into a parking lot, block them in and physically confront them.

Safelite AutoGlass Customer service

On the week of May 8th I scheduled a appointment with Safelite in Walker La for my 2022 Nissan Frontier. I showed up for my appointment Sat May 20th. I was asked do I want generic or factory molding, I said factory. Was not in stock and they said they would order and reschedule for May 27th. Get their this morning and they did not have it in stock. No advance phone call throughout this process to be proactive or the thought to at least call me to tell me that part was not available. When appointment was originally made the question of generic or factory should have been presented. The fault here falls on the manager Rico Barrera for not being proactive. To make matters even worse when they told me this morning upon arrival of my appointment that part was not in I asked to speak to manager, they said he was off. One of the Techs was nice enough to call the manager on his cell. The tech handed me his phone and I basically said all of the above, when I said it was poor management he hung up on me. Manager never said one thing to me on phone and dont let the manger fool you by saying I was out of line, no cursing but merely the above words. I do not know the culture of Safelites management style but in my opinion you do not hang up and ignore customers. The manager needs training if you plan to utilize his uncouth management skills. I am still in disbeleif that a nationwide company has this type of customer service and supports the poor management, remember Mr Barrera represents your company in a bad way. Please feel free to call me [protected].

Last year I had a crack in the windshield on my 2019 Toyota C-HR. I took my car in July of 2022 to Safelite and had the windshield replaced. It was painless, waited about 1 1/2 hours and it was done by 3 people at the same time. I was told that there was a lifetime warranty included. I paid my deductible from my insurance, as well as the additional cost. However, less than a year later, I was driving to work and noticed that the crack on my windshield had appeared on the driver's side all the way down. There was nobody was in front of me while driving. No rocks on the parkway. The road was clear. At least this time around, there wasn’t a rock damaging the windshield.

So I made an appointment with Safelite to replace it. They sent me an email with a confirmation on a date and time and approval that there will be NO COST for it. I was confident that the warranty would cover it and I was WRONG! When I went back to Safelite located on 950NIL-83 Wood Dale, IL location, the lady at the front desk asked me regarding the reasoning behind the damage. I did not know what the reason behind my damaged windshield was and they needed to replace it. They asked me to leave my car key with them and sent me to the waiting room. Inspections were done without my presence, and I was told that the reason was a rock hitting it. The guy showed me that it was a rock by placing his nails into the crack and scratching it. I was told it has to go through my insurance and I have to pay. They denied the warranty.

I then went to a different auto glass repair company and what I found out was shocking. Safelite did not replace the window properly. It was uneven and it had a big gap that was not clipped properly the way it is supposed to be. I have a video demonstrating my proof of it from top to bottom. It is unfortunate that Safelite did not save my time, my money, and only created false information to prevent their work from being completed the proper way. I’m requesting for my refund to be processed directly back to me for this unprofessional workmanship being done to my vehicle in the amount of $ 440.00 . Please let me know how soon you’d be able to process the amount back to me and contact me with any questions.

Thanks,

Had safelite come replace windshield they damaged a pillars on passenger side exterior chipped paint and the side trim came off in the car wash after a month. The regional manager keeps saying they will call but never does. They are giving the run around after admitting to the damage. Got a quote sent it and no response. My insurance company wich recommended safelite won't cover the damages and keeps just calling safelite. I am suing them if no response by end of next week. Both insurance and safelite . Scam going on here with both.
