Rue21 Complaint regarding employee refusing to allow my child to use dressing room

On Oct 01, 2023 around 5:00pm. My daughter and I were shopping in Rue 21. Once my daughter found the items she liked I told her to go try them on. My daughter headed for the dressing rooms when a lady from rue21 said no you can not go back in the dressing room because we are closing at 6:00pm and they have to be sanitized. I then asked why can she not use any of the rooms since there are several and her response was no. I said that is pretty stupid we want to try the stuff on first before we purchase. She said well that’s not gonna Happen and you can leave if you should leave for calling it stupid. I asked are you serious I then asked for her name and she refused to give it to me. Mind you she was on her cell phone the whole time and said she is the manager she doesn’t have to give me any information and asked me to leave again. I would like to explain further by someone contacting me. This was terrible treatment to me and my daughter.

Rue21 Return and Refund

I purchased items in your store on 9/1/23 and some of the items were too small so I returned them.. I paid cash for them and the kind sales associate told me the new store policy was I could only get a gift card.. Before I even purchased the items as they were not for me I asked an associate if I could bring them back and they said as long as I had the receipt.. My problem with all this is if I paid cash I want the method in which I paid back to me.. Simply putting what you have on the receipt about your store returns is not specific enough and no one would know about that until they purchased the product and had to bring it back..

Desired outcome: Since the policy is never going to be know unless we are informed I would like Cash back. The same way I bought it.

Rue21 Amber at Opry Mills Mall

Hello!

I would like to file a complaint on an employee who works at the Rue21 at Opry Mills Mall. Usually I love to shop at rue21 and I shop there often, but usually I shop at the Smryna, Tn location, as it is less packed. I just so happen to be close to Opry Mills Mall, so I decided to go to that Rue21 to shop for my upcoming vacation. I arrived at the mall on 8/21 close to 7pm. I was trying to hurry as the store closes at 8pm. I look around, gathered a bunch of items I found interesting and headed to the dressing room. I felt very uneasy about being there and did feel like something would go wrong, but I usually hate going to Opry Mills in general as it is way too crowded. I try on my outfits and pick my favorites. I head out the dressing room with my Favorites and take one last look around the plus size section just incase I missed something. I ended up finding one more outfit I was intrigued by so I went back into my same dressing room, as I knew I would and usually do. I try on the outfit and stare in the mirror for a awhile to confirm that's what I want. While in the dressing room. I organize my clothes by order of importance and most likely to go on the trip with me. While doing so I hear a knock on my dressing room door. It was Amber. I grab my most likelies and head out. Amber does not say a word to me and I look around the dressing room noticing it was empty thinking she was rushing me because they were closing, but I check the time and realize it was only 7:33pm I was already done picking out my clothes and was about to head to the register. When I exit the dressing room Amber is mean mugging me and looking me up and down. I addressed her twice trying to understand why she knocked on my dressing room door, inquiring about closing time, completely disgusted by the looks she's giving me. I am walking away from the dressing room to find a size up in the dress I like then heading to the register. She finally addresses me as I am looking for the size up. I was questioning why she is staring and following me. She finally makes a smart comment and accused me of stealing and "popping tags" I am in the middle of rue 21 completely shocked as I have my three outfits in hand without any tags popped, ready to go to the register. I assure her that I was not stealing and showed her the articles I was ready to buy. But she insisted I was stealing and called the cops on me. I was completely hurt and taken aback as I never stolen anything in my life. Not to mention she is ruining my upcoming vacation as I was in a rush to buy clothes since I go this week. Based on how long it took her to address me, I whole heartedly believe she was racial profiling me in that store. I was wearing sweat pants and a crop top, not necessarily dressed to impress, but I do not put on hard to take off clothing when I know I am going shopping. I do not stand for racism and simply cannot sleep knowing I was embarrassingly and wrongly kicked out of a store. Please do something about this or I would be forced to take legal action as this is your company. Not to mention that I am no longer welcome in a store that I love, but until this is resolved I have no problem never returning to a racist environment and will be happy to take this to social media as well. I am a college graduate with an excellent job and I work hard for my money. This is ridiculous.

Desired outcome: I would not only like an apology from amber for wrongly accusing me, but I suggest further training would suite her. She needs to have training on stereotyping the customers because not all black people steal.

Rue21 Store manager

I currently work at Rue21, My store manager is very rude and doesn’t do anything. She expects her employees to do everything but she expects it to be done her way. If it isn’t done her way, she will tell you that it’s not right and will make you re-do it. She uses her power to override managers on duty whenever she isn’t clocked in and cannot keep employees because of her attitude. I worked a 4 1/2 hour shift, the manager on duty had told me to stay at the cash wrap to be available for the customers who were shopping. I had sat on a little bench that was right behind the cash register for quite literally a minute because my feet were in excruciating pain from walking around the store for 3 1/2 hours. The store manager walked in after her shift, motioned me to get up, came behind the counter to check something on the register, got on my case about sitting down, said she was sitting in her car watching me, and then accused me of not doing anything. I explained to her that I had just sat down and that I had already helped the customers that were in the store. I proceeded to leave the cash wrap although I knew that once I did, that the customers would probably come to the register. Sure enough, right after I left from behind the cash wrap, a huge line formed and the store manager called me back over. Had she not have been there, those customers would’ve been waiting until I got back from picking up the store. Everytime I have worked with her, all she has done is stand behind the cash wrap and do paperwork. I have never seen her folding clothes or making sure the store is clean. She doesn’t make Rue an enjoyable place to work, I dread going to work if I know she’s the manager on duty for that day.

Desired outcome: I would like her behavior to change and for her to actually work instead of micromanaging everyone

Rue21 Returns

On 6/23/23 I purchased close to $200 in items for one of my nephews from Rue 21 at Stonecrest Mall. The next day I went back to return them because the length was too short and I had already replaced the times from their website. The store manager stated to me in front of 3/4 workers that she do not do refunds on the weekend. I would have to comeback during the weekday to complete the transaction. I did not want to make a scene, so I exited the establishment. My work schedule is a bit chaotic and finding time to assist my nephew can been a challenge. I just have never encountered a store that does not complete returns on weekends.

Desired outcome: The company should consider revisiting this policy.

Rue21 Lost package / wont replace or refund

May 5th I placed an online order, spent $114.50. Tracking says it was delivered on the 12th at mailbox, however no package was there. Contacted USPS, but they were unable to locate the package and advised I reach out to rue21 customer service for help. I did and they told me they were not responsible for lost packages if tracking shows it was delivered. Tracking shows it was delivered to az but no information after that... doesn't even say it was delivered to my city. However I spent over 100 and didn't recieve my items, to me that's stealing. That package could have been delievered anywhere in AZ... there is no confirmation it was even delieved to the shipping address.

Desired outcome: Refund, I wanted a replacement, but after this I don't trust them anymore

Rue21 Store manager / district manager / regional manager

Store 338 in Hazleton Pennsylvania store manager Emily cook district manager Ashley regional manager Dan I was employed there and I gave a complaint I was uncomfortable to talk to my district manager because she is part of the problem there is sexual harassment toward minors by the SM and DM and regional manager said there was nothing he can do kids that work there are uncomfortable and even though I do not work there anymore the kids still come to me complaining about the SM the SM constantly talks about a certain minors sexual life and preference to others the DM likes a minor and is waiting until he turns 18 so that she could jump his bones words that come out of her mouth I called the regional manager to speak to him I introduced myself to him and told him what was going on he said that there was nothing that he could do about that situation that I should call the district manager I told him I am uncomfortable speaking with her and he kept urging me to call the district manager isn't he the regional manager my next point of contact shouldn't I have called him and gotten help by him something's got to give it is sad to see these kids all the time they come to visit me and they tell me what's going on and they still nothing happening to help the situation I feel that the district manager the store manager and the regional manager should be trained and district manager storm manager should be fired and have charges pressed on them don't they know that this can cause suicide towards teens that's all they work with is with teenagers it's ridiculous how nobody wants to help I feel like this company is going down the drain for not helping I was so excited to work with the company and it was such a letdown when I started working there first week it was horrible I am a parent of a 16 year old how would you guys expect me to feel about this situation please somebody do something store 338 Hazleton Pennsylvania

Desired outcome: Store manager district manager need to be fired regional manager needs to be retrained on all harassment and sexual harassments especially towards minors

Rue21 Manager/district manager

When I first started, it was a really awesome environment. then little by little each underage kid came to me crying about how they were being treated by the store manager at Victoria Texas. It was so bad and sad that some parents wanted to press charges because she was forcing them to take out the trash at night with no supervision, some of these kids have had mental breakdowns in front of me and they’re only 16 and 17 years old the district manager when I told her that the new assistant manager had an emergency because her mom was in a very bad car crash she said, are you sure her mom was really in a car crash and it’s pretty messed up because it’s only her second day of work. I’m gonna need proof that her mom is in ICU. There’s no way that in a small town do you live in that there was that bad of an accident Meanwhile, the young lady was on the way to see her mom in ICU just the fact that there is no humility and human decency is really terrible. I have seen several people walk out because of the same common denominator. We have all had to been there very very sick with fevers. I had blood in my urine, a kidney infection and a bladder infection and flu type b, and they still made me come in. Now the district manager is mad that everybody is sick. She is demanding that I know fire people and get new people in there then on top of that there’s over 100 boxes of freight that is somehow my fault and it’s my responsibility to get out onto the floor even though the stairs store manager is on vacation and left me hanging high and dry and lied to the district manager and said that all the walls were done because we are having to completely replace the walls. keep in mind that things are falling left and right I have been hit in the shoulder. I almost hit one of my underage kids in the face because of the massive amounts of crap that we are having to take on and it’s Unsafe I will not conformed to this type of human indecency, they keep saying we don’t need excuses, but people are really really sick. That’s not an excuse when people are very sick and have a fever and then we’re trying to do customer service freight, build the walls and do freight and make sure the conversion rate is right in the conversion rate is all I get yelled about I get cussed out all the time why was the conversion rate at this? This is not well I can’t help that Brenda with 12 kids has come in and out of the store five times I can’t help that we live in a small town and I can only control what I can control and I can only react how I can react I can only do what I can do. I’m only human. I will constantly get harassed. If I don’t get enough credit cards I understand but this world is getting really sad and people don’t want to spend as much money. I have kids that have burnout issues I can see there a little light, not shining as bright and I can tell you right now the district manager and the store manager are the ones who are very inhumane. One time I was told that I couldn’t go pick up my son until everything was done. She said I don’t care if I had to keep you till [censored]ing midnight. He will get it done and I said well I have to pick up my son by like 8 o’clock. She said well that’s not my problem. Can’t his grandparents take care of him. I said his grandparents are his parents I am his mother I said if I would’ve had this plan to stay late, then I would not have an issue with the fact that we are being run Literally like slaves is not OK they do not care about your health at all. They will literally watch you die before they do the right thing I have walking pneumonia as we speak. I had the flu for two weeks and I never recovered. I don’t have time to go to the doctor because I have no days off because the store manager is too busy on her gallivanting trip. That was so important to her and the district manager is now coming down hard on me and it’s not just coming down on me. It’s literally taking over my entire existence and I can only imagine as a grown woman feeling like this how these children feel. I’ve seen multiple parents upset and they talk to me about it because they know I’m the only reasonable person to talk to!

I truly believe this needs to be resolved because this is very not right and I really loved my job at one point and now I am just miserable and sick and I’m still supposed to build walls with kids with things falling down with no help and I’m telling you the entire store they’re making me redo and I’m telling you from nuts and bolts to shows to freight. I’m doing all of it and I was left there by myself to do it all and it’s not fair or right type of pressure that they’re putting on me or these kids Also the store manager has had proof that she’s been drunk in the store. She’s been so high that the cops got called cause she forgot her code and she thought it was really funny and the fact that they have proof of this and they still haven’t done anything is really messed up there’s been multiple complaints already and nothing has been done and I am very very sick and tired of it. It doesn’t look very good that the door manager has her girlfriend coming through the back to do freight who doesn’t work for us but then she will yell at somebody when they’re off the clock if they came in and she’ll say, are you gonna buy anything because if you don’t then you need to get out cause you’re messing up our conversion rate what type of crap is that? That is literally not OK to tell me they can’t come in and out of the store especially if we mean oh my goodness at what point does it stop really they have all the proof they need for the store manager to be removed from the situation and they still have let it slide.

Desired outcome: I want my kiddos to feel better ❤️‍🩹 I want the sm gone!!!! I want human decency from the higher up

Rue21 Rue21 south county store number 829

I work at rue and they way the manger amber treats people is bs Lbvs when I checked the schedule and I spoke to her about it she never gave me an answer I have responsibilities and a child to take care of she took me off the schedule for a whole week and when she do get me coming back she got me in a system out of my availability I text Ken I file for unemployment she never responded back to me and still to this day I still been texting and calling and she will not answer

Rue21 Rue21 red hand sanitizer

I had bought Rue21 red hand sanitizer on 4/18/2022, and I broke out with chemical burn on 4/19/2022(second degree burn). Haven’t been able to work for 2 weeks cause of it. I had bought it at the store in Aurora Colorado.

Rue21 items did not get

i had made a purchase at end of october it was 5 fragences i did not recieve i live out of state and called the day after told them io didnt get them and they said when im in this area again come pick them up.i told lady i spoke with it would christmas before come back so i called this evening the 27th and asked for manager and she said no one has told her anything i can send you receipt and show you i spent over 73. and i would like my items call me at [protected] thanks rebecca cashion p.s. manager at store was rude didnt even ask for exact date or nothing

Rue21 Cashier at rue21

I recently visited the Rue21 store in Richmond, KY on 10/6/21. I have not been in this rue21 before nor have had any issues with this company until now. I had two people checking me out a young woman and young man. The girl was extremely rude and disrespectful to me. She had attitude to both my son and I the whole time we were shopping there and acted like I was bothering or interrupting her and the coworkers conversation. She then spoke to her coworker the whole time and payed little attention to ringing me out. She scanned one of my items twice. When I mentioned it she was very rude and got mad I was questioning her. She took the item off and I went on my way. As I was leaving I heard her say she was glad we left and that I was stupid. She was blonde and wore glasses. I checked the receipt and it says I was serviced by a Megan.

Rue21 Service and shippents

I placed a order on the 18th of July I was sent an email stating that my order has been shipped I have been tracking my order since the 21st and all I can see is label has been created. I keep calling and the only answer that I keep getting is that I would receive an email about resolution I haven't received an email as of yet. All I want is my items that I ordered.

Rue21 Customer service

This store in Cumberland mall is so ghetto 2 of the workers were arguing right in front of all of us customers as if we were not even there. They were using profane language and honestly talking as if they were about to fight. I did not get greeted there was no assistance no music and we felt rushed to get out because the store was about to close. The entire situation was something out of a movie to be honest. I love rue21 but this is the worst location ive been to yet.

Rue21 Online order

I ordered items from their website for my daughter. And accidentally hit submit before I had the opportunity to select a free item it was a buy one get one free offer. I contacted customer service immediately and they told me that they could not change my order. I was again contacted by the customer service department who requested me to send out all the information via Facebook messenger which I did and again was told that they cannot modify my order. I did not ask them to modify my order I just asked that they shipped out the one item that I was supposed to receive for free in addition to the order that already will be shipping. They basically told me there was nothing they could do to help me

Rue21 One order, six pairs of jeans

I received a small bag and opened it up and great one pair of jeans, I ordered six in total. So I looked around thinking ok maybe there's another package. Nope no other package. Waited another day thinking maybe it will be in another package but nothing ever came. Went online says delivered. Emailed rue and was basically told I'm out luck because it was all mailed in that small bag. I want my merchandise that I Never received, this is not right. So basically I paid 134.00 for one pair of jeans due to their error? I want my merchandise that I paid for!

Are you certain that you ordered six pairs of jeans and that there was only one in the bag that was delivered? Perhaps you should look around your door for the other bags if this is the case. Delivery services are extremely reliable and it's unlikely that Rue21 would be the cause of this discrepancy.

Rue21 horrible place to shop online

I placed an order in november 2019 for a pair of leggings and a shirt. It's now December 16th 2019 I got an email a few days ago says my item shipped. got another email today saying my shipment was cancled. Called rue 21 they said i called my items but I didnt. Then they tell me ups cancled my shipment . So I have been waiting over a month for my items they say I have to get a refund and re purchase the same items completely ridiculous will not shop here in the future.

Rue21 unauthorized charges

Rue21 took my money on PayPal an I didn't placed any order I contacted rue21 they give me he'll to return to my money. PayPal have a hand in it as Well I contacted PayPal they couldn't return my money than pure [censored]ry. Please don't add nothing to rue21 Cart or even used PayPal both company are thieves. PayPal telling me to contact seller, I did seller said to wait 30 days ...PayPal stated can't received refund after 30 days .I send the screen shot to PayPal an they still doesn't see the [censored]ry rue21 on. Rue21 knows if I wait until after 30 days I can't get my money back .. I will be taking matters in my own hands if my money ain't return by Monday the latest

Rue21 online order

I ordered 7 items online and never received them although when I checked the tracking number they stated it had been delivered. When i tried contacting UPS they told me that they have a contract with Rue 21 where they are the ones who have to do the investigation. I called Rue 21 customer service and was told they were going to investigate on 05/12/19 and to this day i still have not heard back and have not received anything. Will no longer be shopping with Rue 21.

Rue21 manager

The manager at your Poplar Bluff location is RUDE! I've never been talked to in that manner and I don't appreciate it. I'll never visit that store again and neither will anyone in my family. Teach your employees to have some respect. I'm not a kid I'm a middle aged woman and I don't appreciate her talking down to me! I'm not sure of her last name but she's blonde and her name is Cindy. If she's treating people like this then she's ruining your business.
