Ross Dress for Less Wait time to purchase

The last 3 times I have been at Ross Dress for less there has only been one person at the register and the line goes half way to the back of the store, after waiting 30 minutes in line I left without purchasing a thing, very poor management when 5 other employees are in different parts of the store, get self checkout if you don't have enough people to work the register, it's beyond ridiculous

Ross Dress for Less Shoes

I took a pair of shoes to the counter to check out. Both shoes had a 9.99 price tag inside. The lady at the check out took both tags out and charged us 15.99. She refused to honor the tag in not one, but BOTH shoes. She then stated "someone made a mistake and I can't honor that price" . She refunded my money and told me that was the "best she could do". She was the store manager. It isn't the customers fault if you put the wrong price on an item...let alone twice. The price tag in the shoes should have been honored.

Desired outcome: Manager reprimand, since it is now too late to get the shoes I wanted.

Ross Dress for Less Customer Service

I walked into my local Ross store tonight at about 10:40 pm. The security guard greeted me then said "we do close at 11:00. I told him I know. I knew I didn't have much time. They started making announcements saying they were closing. I think I was the only customer in the store. They made a final announcement I believe at 10:55 but she said it was 10:57. I corrected the employee about the time. I checked my phone. I told the lady who made the closing announcements the time my phone said. She said "we don't go by a phone ". I knew for a fact my phone had the correct time. It always shows the correct time just like my cable box. I said I knew what time it was. I said I knew they were ready to get out of there but I was already having a bad night. I tried to be cordial to the cashier. My nerves were shot. I walked out of the store at 11:00 pm on the dot. I was not happy

Ross Dress for Less cashier and manager/supervisor

-store 1532 windcrest, tx 78239 telephone #[protected].
-April 25, 2021 time between 1pm and 1:25pm cash register 4.
-young female cashier- early 20's, long dark haired latina with lots of make-up.
-termination of employee.

In the retail business all cashiers are to be trained no matter what register they are assigned at to deliver exchanges or refunds.
The lines are ridiculous to begin with waiting 20-30 min to be cashed out, upon my arrival at register 4 I asked the young lady very politely if she could assist me in an exchange, her words were exchanges are registers 1-2-3. So I said other cashiers have assisted me with no issues can you please make the exchange. she said i dont do that. i said oh so you dont know how to make exchanges, she said i do I'm just not going to do it. instead of her politely saying i cant assist you on that, what i can do for you is send you to register 1-2-3 and they can assist you on that issue. i was dumbfounded on her blunt response. so i repeated to her, youre just not going to do it then? and she said yup. so i responded thank you for not making the exchange. she said you're welcome very smug.
so there i went waiting in line for 15 more minutes. the other customers were also complaining about the managers attitude in assisting with questions. the manager wouldnt even stop to listen she would walk off and respond with short answers.
when it was my turn to make the exchange i went to register 3 which the cashiers name was Bobby(Assoc # 2069813), very sweet boy i might add(also heard the entire incident)
i asked if he could make the exchange because she didnt want to do it and he said sure i can help you with that. and she said no i didnt i told you only register 1-2-3 do that and i said thats not all you said you said you're just not going to do it. i told her in retail the customer is always right and she said no youre not and i said yes i am. she then proceeded to use foul language and told me "no youre not you stu*id f***ing b****!" i was in awe, the only thing i could do was laugh and told her that is the way you speak to customers? and continued on to ask where the manager was. she got even more mad and left the register. i dont know if she figured she was automatically fired or went to the ladies room. have no idea.
Bobby conveyed several times apologizing for her actions. he asked if i wanted to speak with the supervisor and i told her the incident. she said exchanged are on 1-2-3. after i had told her the foul language the young cashier had called me. she said oh! well... and asked Bobby where the young girl was at. i honestly dont know if the manager confronted the young girl on the situation, my honest opinion is probably not. the supervisor didnt even apologize for the young girls rudeness. i believe Bobby, only working there one month did a better job at handling the situation and should be promoted as supervisor of store #1532.

Ross Dress for Less Abuse cashier

Today I had a very bad experience, my mother had already paid for her things and she was waiting for me at the entrance of the store, inside, I was paying with my 2-year-old baby, he put his toys to pay for them, the cashier marked them and she give them to my son, I started putting my things and my son started walking to where my mom was with my daughters, and the cashier started yelling at him like crazy and I jumped from the cash register chasing my son, I snatched things from him, she pulled him and Everyone was watching what was happening without knowing why the lady was acting that way, what's wrong with you? I told her if you already marked everything and I'm about to pay you, you're wrong, I told her, my daughters are very ashamed, my baby is scared and I am very angry more than anything because she touched and pull my son who is only 2 years old, I made a complaint with hers manager and I hope they solve something soon, this happened around 4pm, I still in shock, this happens today 04/24/21, on Marana, AZ, she told me they're going to check the cameras, I have hers name but I don't know if I can write it here

Ross Dress for Less Service

There was a long line to pay. Two men decided to form a new line at the return line. . The cashier took them without a return. A lady in the paying line complained and she was made look like a fool by the man. The men laughing and bulling her. All these in front of others. No one stood up for the lady and told the men - these ladies are waiting in line- you can't cut in front of them.

I went to store area lady and she told me that cashiers are doing their job. I said - next time I can make that line ? She said - yes. I asked again - without a return ? Now she understood what happened. Still said nothing or did nothing.

The men kept laughing and bullying the lady that all she was doing was standing up for herself and all of us in line.

It is totally the fault of the cashier that should have said - if you don't have a return please make a line like all others.

And apology was needed. None gotten.

Ross Dress for Less Return not being honored.

I was waiting in line on the 12 the of April. A women was trying to get a refund on a small table she had bought earlier that day. She had the receipt. The casher told her she couldn't return it because she got 10% off on it. Then the PIC came over and told her the same thing. They said she couldn't even get in store credit. They told her that the associate that sold it to her would have told her. The customer said no one told her. They also said that it says it on the back of the receipt. It does not say anything about no return on merchandise that you get 10% off. I and everyone else was stunned. That is a horrible policy, if that how the company really does this. The customer should have got a full refund or at least in store credit. The table was to small for her TV. I mean she only had it for maybe an hour. Just bad customer service all around with her. My cashier had wonderful customer service. Please work on this policy and change it. Or at least have something on it letting the customers know without a any doubt. She played $110 for it to go in her new apartment. She was a homeless older lady for quite a while.

Ross Dress for Less Checkout process

the line at the checkout was backed up into the handbag dept. 2 cashiers were working and the line was moving so I decided to wait it out. half way thru 1 cashier stops waiting on customers and begins to S L O W L Y put hangers back, and fold a stack of clothing to the right of his register. at this point I've been waiting 15 minutes. the lady in front of me walks up to him and he tells her he's not open at the moment. meanwhile the line is backing up to the far wall and he doesn't seem to notice. he continues his uncaring pace working with the pile of stuff next to him while we waited. 1 cashier was working as hard as she could to get everyone through in a timely manner. even a female manager was hanging out doing small tasks and paying zero attention to their own progress. this was my last time to enter a Ross store...…..and ...I do have a picture of the employee who wouldn't open his register IF you want it. Ross could probably sell more stock if they had more workers who cared about their shoppers.

Ross Dress for Less Poor customer service

The Ross for leas on at City Place in Dallas is poorly managed. Ive been in this store two times this week on a Sunday and a Tuesday and on other occasions and the line is always at the back of the store. This is terrible customer service! Do you not want customers in your store? Why have two people checking out customers when there is a store full of people. I guess that you guys don't care that you are losing business operating this way. Its bit rocket science, when you have a line of customers wrapped around your store add more cashiers! Oh and at least have them act like they care that the lines are soooo long!

Ross Dress for Less Rude employee

I simply asked for the restroom for my 6yr old daughter to use. Employee said they were closed. I stated it didn't make sense to have a store open without the bathrooms open, and she was very rude and stated I could just go to another store and when I told her I certainly would, she sarcastically said have a nice day. That's when I asked for her name. She said (Mo) that was all that was on her name tag. I call the manager of that store and there was laughing in the background and she was rude as well. I will never step foot in that store again and will be sure to inform everyone I know just how rude the employees are there.

Ross Dress for Less The high school kid staff and the adults who behave like them

Employees and then having Rude Security guards following customers and harassment for masks even though Florida has no mask mandate. Literally came up to us and followed us.
While on vacation in Florida. We stopped in at Store: 3819 W Vine St, Kissimmee, FL 34741.
Very. Very rude with a rude service. You are greeted by a young curly bottle blonde if you can call it that. The blonde was greeting people sarcastically. The staff are even worse. The staff will talk, be on phones and if you ask where products are they pretend not to know English. One answered with "ohm. I do not know" and walked away. When I asked if they had men's soap and beard products. Well they did. All the way in the back near the blankets and ties section.
That's not all the very large older cashier was rude and refused to check us out if "we did not pull this mask up above knows now" very angry tone. Well we walked out.

Desired outcome: Train and hire better staff that do not have a toxic high school type attitude. more Security that is trianed in theft prevention than stalking customers for masks under no mask mandate

Ross Dress for Less Unprofessional and Rude Employee

UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE EMPLOYEE #945061
During my visit to Ross store # 1432 at 5353, Almaden Express Way in San Jose Ca on Tuesday afternoon March-30-2021, I have witnessed a very rude approach to one of the customers from the lady behind the register. the employee was offered the senior discount, But her approach toward the customer was so insulting that I couldn't help myself and decided to tell the employee that she should be respectful towards the customer, as it is practically everywhere else. Not only she didn't empathize with the customer but she kept repeating herself with an unfriendly approach. Since I objected to her rude approach toward the customer she totally ignored me when it was my turn. she had the same attitude with the bad tone of voice towards me at the checkout too. She didn't care that customer concerns are a big deal. I am hoping the manager should remind the employee put yourself in customer's shoes and determine how their action affected them. She completely forgot that saying sorry is the most effective, cheapest way to turn around a bad customer experience.

Ross Dress for Less Associate #387320

Patronizing and rude, said she was management, spoke down to me like I was a child. I have never felt so humiliated in my life! All I asked is if I could smell a cologne before purchase, it was in a plastic box, she said "you can't smell it through the plastic box" I said "obviously I can't, but can it be taken out to smell?" She said yes, removed it from the plastic box and put it on the counter. I began putting my stuff up on the counter so she didn't have to wait on me, she said "are you going to smell it?" I said "yes, I just didn't want you to wait on me" so I opened the box and took the cap off, but there was no smell, so I went to spray a little and she said "stop! Don't spray that! If you spray that you will have to purchase it, don't spray that ma'm, please don't spray it!" I immediately stopped and gave it back to her, I told her she made me feel like I was trying to steal something. Then she asks me if the stuff which she saw me put on the counter was mine! I said "everything on the counter" as she has rung stuff up, I asked her if she was the manager, she said yes ma'am I am"and I said to her"I too am a manager, and if I treated my customers the way you just treated me, I wouldn't be a manager"she said she didn't treat me any way and began her patronizing, saying,"it's going to be ok ma'm, it's a good day, don't worry, you're going to be ok"I'm putting the little things in the little bag for you, there see? Were not going to get into it, its gonna be ok" I never said another word. The security guard was standing right there and a customer behind me, how horrible the treatment, I want something done about this, she should not have the right to treat people like they are subservient to her. I am a paying customer, her job is to provide great customer service.

Desired outcome: She be taken off management until she learns how to treat people

Ross Dress for Less Service is terrible

I visit the Ross in Lawrenceville GA and usually end up walking out due to the horribly long lines. My time is valuable and so is my money. Customers should not be made to wait in long lines to spend their hard earned money. There are approximately 30 people in line and only 3 cashiers. Store is also disorganized and quality of clothing has decreased.

Ross Dress for Less Very bad customer service

I was there 3/21/21 at 3. With my daughter-in-law. She was in line 20 deep and I asked the security guard to call for help he did Elizabeth is who he spoke to line now to the back of store people putting stuff down and walking out so I call the store Elizabeth answered asked if she could come up now 35 people in line she said I'm working on it and I asked if she could come up and she said thank you and hung up. I have pictures 30 minutes later she comes up with another girl. The line was to the back and around to the children's department. I took pictures. But when I went out to wait for my daughter-in-law the security guard started saying that old lady was taking pictures big joke upfront. My daughter-in-law when she got upfront said that old lady your talking about is my mother-in-law.
Shame on Ross you lost sales and you lost me as a customer. No customer service and shame on Ross for hiring a manager that doesn't care about the customers. Yet being labeled as an old lady by security.

I am currently at the store
10261 north freeway
Houston tx.
And the part of a staff by the name Rosario,
Has been very disrespectful a long with an other lady, that believe to be in charge of security and maybe sales floor to, they both are treating us customers with bad attitude and not much caring for customers service at all, please can someone hire up look into this kind of behavior from your employees, I personally spend lots of money regularly and I believe that we the customers deserve a lot better, thanks.

This incident happened on Sunday, March [protected] Grand Pkwy New Caney TX 77357. I returned some clothes and the lady Stephanie at the store manager didn't give my total amount. I know that 11 dollars is not too much but why she has to steal my money. Is unavailable that someone who works here can be a robber and take my money. Ross Dress for Less Discrimination against mentally health

I began working for DD's discounts here in sacramento in january 2019. I was honest about my mental health from the beginning. There were several times that I was scheduled to work and then was told when I came in that day that I was taken off the schedule. Then on several days off would be called and told they expected me to come in and they needed me there in 30 minutes. Most days we were understaffed and I had to do my job at a breakneck speed so i could then finish the job of others who either didnt come in or were on there phone in the fitting room . I did have panic attacks at work and would always do my best to work through it. Even as I was hyperventilating I was still picking up merchandise and hanging it back up. I began to receive ill treatment from other employees as well as the manager. Calling me lazy under there breath, or rolling there eyes if I had a question about something. Often my breaks would be cut short and I'd be told I had went over break even though I didnt get my full break. After weeks of being harrassed I had a panic attack at one point in witch the manager told me to go home after I told her I just needed a minute to breath and I'd be right back to work. Another moth of the remarks, and eye rolling, scoffing etc. I couldnt take it anymore. I smoke to the kinder of the two managers and told her that due to my mental health I needed to put in my 14 day resignation, so that they could hire someone who didnt have mental health issues. I told her I planned to come back when my mental health was better. Thinking if I wasnt mentally disabled they'd be nicer and more professional.the manager told me she respected my decision and believed they would "welcome me back with open arms". She also informed she I would be put down as unavailable for the next two weeks so I didnt need to come in for anything further. This year 2021 I went in to apply for a rehire. I had an interview that went well. Was told they chose someone else because of my availability which was not possible because I had open availability. I then interviewed again and was offered employment which I then accepted. They only needed to do my background check. I have no criminal record what so ever. I called 3 days later and was told to call back on monday for my start date. When I called on monday I was informed they were told by HR they weren't allowed to employ me because of "how I left" but couldnt give me any other information . I called the district manager several times and left a message got no reply from him. Later I called back was given the HR number. I called HR and was told that there file says that I was terminated for job abandonment. I asked them how that was possible and what could be done to correct this .they said the store manager could call and they'd be able to walk through the steps to figure out how to get It taken of. I called the store, and the manager told me she would call. After several follow up calls she told me they still hadn't replied. I then went into the store to talk to her. At which point she said they replied a few days ago and said that my file said what it said and that's it. I never recieved a letter call or email saying that my employment was terminated. And I did resign myself and give a 2 week notice.

Ross Dress for Less Manager/customer service

I stood in line today for 20 minutes at the only cash register with a light on at the Ross Store on Magnolia in Riverside, CA. As I got next in line the lady asked if I had a purchase and I said yes. She said I was in the wrong line and had to go get behind the others in another line that had formed long after I had already been standing there. I told her I was here first and went to the only cashier in the store with the only light on.

She proceeded to ignore me and called all the others who were there long after I stood there waiting.

Suffice it to say, I left my $200 worth of clothes and shoes in the cart and walked out. I will never shop there again. Over the last seven years I have spent thousands at that store. You have lost a great a nd loyal customer!

Burlington is across the street, and they will now have all my business as well as all my friends.

If you fire that rude manager with the brown hair in a bun I may return, but only if she is gone permanently.

You don't treat customers like that and if you do you have no business being a manager. I am a Sales Rep for a large corporation...

Ross Dress for Less Merchandise complaint

I visited the ross store #1376 on 2/27/21 I placed a ring on hold with the cashier desk upon arriving to the store, I was reassured my merchandise will be available at checkout. I browsed the store to shop for other items after 1 hour I went to pay & spent $243.00 to find that cashier adriana sold my ring to another customer. Unacceptable service!

Desired outcome: To better train the cashiers when items are placed on hold while customers shop! Verify if the item placed on hold belongs to the individual before giving it to another customer.
