Power Home Remodeling Waste of time

Had an employee come to the house for an estimate on new roof and gutters. He wanted to do a complete free inspection. I agreed and 2 hours later I had an estimate that I didn't really need for a new window and doors, but not the roof and gutter! He told me the roof estimate would be emailed to me the next day. A week later and at least 3 phone calls later, I find out that he never put in for the roof estimate. The person today said someone would have to come back out. I said no thank you! I wasted 2 hours, but I feel it could have been a lot more expensive if I would have chosen them for the job.

Power Home Remodeling Poorly trained employees

The sign on my door reads:

Line 1. NO SOLICITING

Line 2. PLEASE KNOCK

The individual(s) at my door can read because he opened the outer door and knocked on my door interior door.

When I opened the door and went out to meet your representative, one began explaining how a neighbors roof up the street had been replaced by your company. My roof looked like it might need replacing in two or three years and ... I cut him off. I pointed to my sign and read it for him...

I assume "No Soliciting" has no meaning to them.

Please inform your employees of the meaning of No Soliciting.

You probably should inform them of the penalty for repeatedly ignoring a No Soliciting Sign.

Desired outcome: Employee education

Power Home Remodeling - Windows warranty service

Over the years we have relied on the Power Home Remodeling Group to replace 25 of our old, casement windows with newer, sealed windows and screens. We chose Power based on their lifetime warranty (“95% satisfaction” per their website) and their many positive reviews. The window quality also seemed excellent. It became apparent within a few years that many...

Power Home Remodeling Soffit not nailed in and falling endangering homeowner and visitors

This is very disappointing and disturbing. This shouldn’t have taken months to get rectified. With strong winds approaching, this is dangerous for my family, visitors or anyone for that matter. Warranty should not look like this at all! I shouldn't be told that there isn't any workers to assist or fix the issue, when in fact you sold us with this quote "PROTECTION THAT LASTS. SERVICE THAT DELIVERS. At Power Home Remodeling, we have chosen to partner with some of the most highly regarded manufacturers in the business. As a result, we can confidently stand behind our products and services with warranties that are among the best in the industry."

For a said company that sought for our business (several items purchased through this company), All windows (including a Bay), roofing, gutters, trimming, I’m very disappointed because we never signed up for this. This is embarrassing and very dangerous! Our original appoint was scheduled for Oct 9th, only after I asked to speak to someone in headquarters, was only and scheduled for a much earlier appt. which is August 12th, at this point with strong winds and storms approaching, I fear for what is to come before our revised appointment on August 12th..

Desired outcome: Appointment scheduled for this Saturday, August 12, 2023. Soffitt has worsened and is now about to fall and danger my family. Problem report months ago..

Power Home Remodeling roofing

make decisions. They came to my door practically begging to get the job, so I cancelled my plans to be there for an estimate the next day. It’s basically like a harassment when they come to your door. The pitch took an hour, although I told the guy that I had a newborn. So I decided to cancel my plans. They harass you with phone calls to make sure the “man of the house” is home. So I finally picked up at 7 am, only to have them waist my time by telling me that the decision maker should be home. I am glad that I didn’t even have my husband accommodate his plans to be there because my neighbor’s roof looks like crap. I am glad I dodged that bullet.

Power Home Remodeling Bad project management on Window Installation

A very bad start to our very expensive window installation. Power is more expensive than other quotes we had but we liked our initial sale team and felt it would be done well with quality products. When they came to do the final inspection, the quote went up $1000. I was not happy with this but ok, nothing was said that the quote we signed was open to change. Now we are on our second last minute notification that our project has been delayed. This is after we rearranged for the second time our entire schedule, greatly inconveniencing our work and losing income because of it. The take no ownership in the fact that they can't manage the Manufacturing process and that they do not know what day the windows will be done? If you can afford to guess when your house will be torn apart for 48 hours any week last minute then maybe they are not a bad company. For us this is unacceptable

Power Home Remodeling Faulty windows. Nineteen in all.

Have called pre covid. Finally picked up phone and said 12 month wait. Have called numerous times after 12 months and got run-a-round. Last call no answer.
Windows were installed two different times because of cost.
First pre 2021. Project number 30-00086.
Second installed 3/29/22. Project number [protected].
Windows have numerous faults and blemishes in the finish. Some worse than others. Company sent a tech out they varifted the problems and agreed. He said he forwarded the information to main office.

Desired outcome: Just replace 19 windows. I paid in full with life time guarentee,

Power Home Remodeling Harassing sales practice

Hello. My daughter foolishly answered the door for a door-to-door salesperson (I was working). Not only is this generally unsafe, but she was six hours post wisdom tooth removal - groggy and anesthesia still wearing off. She conveyed several times that she was not the homeowner and did not make these decisions. The salesperson proceeded to pressure her into a return visit (she didn't recollect this when she told me later that night). The next day, I received mutiple calls from an unknown number. On the third call I answered, and was told they would like to confirm my appointment that day. I told them they must have the wrong number. At this point I put together that they had scheduled it with my 'loopy' daughter. They apologized. To make matters worse, the salesperson searched and located my daughter on Instagram to start following her - something I consider completely inappropriate. She is barely an adult (18).

Desired outcome: Local salesperson should be reprimanded for inappropriate behavior (pressuring into appointment, and ensuing social media behavior)

Power Home Remodeling Windows

6/2/21 I called Power Windows to complain about the seals on the upper half of my windows were broken. They agreed the windows are under warranty and will be replaced. It's two years and nothing has been done. I have spoken to them many times and get the same excuse-they are back ordered. Since then the seals on 11 other windows have broken. I keep being told the windows are back ordered 12-18 mos. This is not acceptable. Their windows are defective. I want all the windows they installed to be replaced.

Desired outcome: All windows are to be replaced.

Power Home Remodeling Siding for a house

An individual came to our screen door today calling into the house for attention. He was wearing typical clothes (jeans & a hoodie that said "Power" on it over his chest). He said they were giving free estimates. I asked if they had permission from the town to walk up on properties, call into houses, solicit, etc. He said they had approval, but the town has yet to confirm any of this.

He wanted to offer a free estimate, but asked questions about how many people lived in the household, financial questions, etc. I said I would let his team do a free outside estimate, but I expected workers with proper license numbers, etc. He said we would get a call when they were arriving (same day), but I should scan his card to add the number first to my phone so I knew when they called. I did not scan, but took a picture of the number. When that number called, it came up as "Spam" on my phone.

They were supposed to be here at 1:00, but at 1:40 when I got the spam call, they suddenly had to cancel and would call back another time to reschedule.

Everything about this feels wrong and like it is criminal activity. At the very least, it is very unprofessional and shady while looking like they are casing someones house and personal details.

Desired outcome: I would like other people to be aware that this company might not be legit. We are fortunate to have a 95 pound German Shepard at the house at all times with my elder mother, but other people might not be so safe or lucky.

Power Home Remodeling Replacement windows

I had this company install replacement windows. After a few years they ended up leaking. After many calls, I finally got someone to admit they installed ALL the windows incorrectly. They came out and took every wndow out and re-installed them. Another of couple of year later I had a seal broken on one of the double hung windows. I called the warranty department, because there is a lifetime warranty on the windows, to have it replaced, on NOVEMBER 23, 2021. At that time, I was told the window would take 10 months to come in. Someone came out on January 13, 2022 to look at it and, did in fact confirm the seal was broken. I was assured at that time the window had been ordered. I called back in November of 2022, to be told they are now 12 - 15 months out to get these. I told him it was already 12 months, and I would call back in February. I didn't. I JUST CALLED BACK, now being 17 months+, and STILL NO WINDOW. They have NO IDEA when the window will be in. Apparently, though, if I wanted all new windows installed, I could have that done immediately. I WANT MY WINDOW or I want to be compensated. This is the WORST company and the worst customer service EVER!

Desired outcome: Either get my my window IMMEDIATELY or refund all my money so I can have all the windows replaced again so they match. This time I would do it correctly!!!

Power Home Remodeling Front door and landing

Good afternoon, I have spent thousands of dollars with your company and right now I am not happy with the service I have been receiving. I have had 3 doors and a window replaced. My issue is with the front door that had to be re-stained due to discoloration. The front door hardware and doorway was messed up with the stain and they were to replace it, but they did not have both parts. The next guy came out and replaced the top lock with the numbers and not the bottom because again he was not informed that both needed to be changed. He gave me 2 keys and now I have 3 sets of keys to 1 door and when they bring the bottom – more keys. I will have to get extra keys made because they only come with 2 keys. Had I known it was going to be this much trouble to re-stain a door, I may have made other decisions. I am totally discussed and disappointed with your company and the service I have been receiving for this issue. I just want this issue resolved.

Desired outcome: I would like my front door, landing, and key entry to look like before these repairs were made, I want a new set of keys that go to both locks.

Power Home Remodeling Representative Brian handel

Representative flipped out on me when he tried to upsell me. Came back after my husband left & tried to tell me they needed to charge me more for a mull piece. I told him no, as I had already agreed to pay more for additional work. He wrote up a contract that said there would be an additional charge for it & for any defective trim in the other set of windows. I said that I would pay for the wood replacement but not the mull piece & the language on the contract had to reflect it before I would sign. He flipped out & told me he couldn't do it. I told him I immediately wanted to cancel the project, as I didn't feel like I wanted to deal with them. 5 minutes later, the contract was changed. I immediately called power to report the incident & their rep told me it wasn't that big of a concern & tried to minimize it by saying he didn't know, that it was a weekend crew. I reminded him he was their rep & should be properly trained to know.

Desired outcome: They need to train their representatives better. They need to apologize to myself & my husband & this incident needs to be in Brian's record as a concern.

Power Home Remodeling Warranty replacement

I contacted power windows and remodeling for warranty replacement windows in August 2021. As of today April 5, 2023 I have no windows replaced. I have contacted them numerous times and I keep getting the same answer. It’s the manufacturer and everything is on back order. In the contract that came with the windows that I purchased it says if a warranty replacement is not done within a reasonable amount of time I would get my money back. I’ve waited 20 months for these windows, and I still keep getting the same answer it’s the manufacturers problem they keep telling me a manager will get back to me and no one ever calls me back, they are not holding their end of the contract up to meet. It is a breach of contract. I believe they no longer deal with that manufacturer and they went with Pella and they refused to replace my windows with the new company that they’re using.

Desired outcome: I would like my windows replaced.

Power Home Remodeling Interviewing Process

From February 2023 - March 2023, I had spoke with the interviewing team about my transition from military service to the civilian world. I talked with a man named Chuck who was my liaison for these interviews. After being told how much of an asset I would be, how much they’d love to have me on board. I was rescheduled, Chuck has ghosted me and not responded to any of my texts. I’d say it’s unprofessional of a company to lead-on a potential worker, especially under the image of helping veterans find work. These are major life decisions for me to make when it comes to where I live and work. This is extremely important to know where my future is headed. I wouldn’t recommend working for this company.

Power Home Remodeling Incomplete work.

Contract 36-32570. We spent $15K on gutter replacement and windows. The windows were nice. I think they did a nice job with replacements and cleanup. No collateral damage which was a bonus. Then came the gutters, not so nice... There was a gap between the gutter backstop and the siding; which was blamed on the 20 year old siding. I was assured it was cosmetic only and would not pose a leak problem. Time will tell. The big problem is they failed to secure one of the soffits they replaced. I tried to get them back. Was told they came back but a squirrel dislodged the soffit again and that was now my problem and refused to come back to secure it better. Already paid them so now all I can do is write a bad review and climb a ladder to fix it myself (and hope to not die in the process) or hire someone else to finish their job. Both distasteful options. I don't have any specific advice for anyone. I think contractors hire sub-contractors and it’s a crapshoot if you get a good one or not.

Desired outcome: I have no expectations of resolution by the company. They have my money and have already said it's on me now. Would be nice if I didn't have to climb a 20 foot ladder or scale a 45 degree roof. I'm supposed to be retired!

Power Home Remodeling Customer service/warranties

On Feb 9, 2023, I had all the windows in my house reeplaced. The window in the 1st floor bathroom did not close properly. The instaler told me they would make a note on the the work papers and someone should be calling me within a week. No call. Waited another week, no call. I fnally called them on March 6, explained the problem and they told me they woud send someone out to see what the problem was on March 13, 2023 between 1-2. They never showed up. When I called their warranties line, the rep (no name) who worked from home was rude and unprofessional. She did tell me that I was rescheduled at 7:23AM on March 13 for July 13. I never recieved any calls, text, etc. When I asked why I had to wait 4 months just for a person to com eout to look at the problem, she hung up. I called back, spoke with Sheena, who again is very unprofessional but after a few words back and forth, she said she would put me on old and contact the insta;ation dept. After being placed on hold, twice, approximately 15 monutes, I was told they would squeeze me March 15, between 1-4. This time they will fix the problem.

I cancelled an appointment for the March 13 visit, which was a no show and now will be cancelling another appointment for March 15, in hope that they would actually show up.

This is not the first time, I have had problems with their warranty/service department. I had my backdoor replaced a few years ago and lost the key. It took them 1 1/2 years before they came and fixed the problem.

Trust me I will be telling everyone not to use Power because they are unreliable.

Desired outcome: I would like an explanation from management or the execuive branch , why the installation was rescheduel without notifying me. And when they did the reschedule, why I would have to wait 4 months.

Power Home Remodeling Window warranty - what a joke

We had both windows and siding replaced in 2013. We chose this company because of the outstanding job the sales team did with explaining how they stand behind the products and services 100%! The added value was the lifetime warranty that was included, it sold us.

The sale and installation went very. February of 2020 we noticed that our front window looked as if there was something growing in between the glass inside of the window. We called the number we were provided for the warranty to advise of the problem. During this call we were told that it is a KNOWN ISSUE with windows that were manufactured at this time. We asked if they could replace the front window and all the others since was a known issue. We were told at that time that they could only replace windows AS THEY GO BAD, not if they go bad! It was at this time we knew that we were sold a lie! Oh and it was going to take 12-14 MONTHS to manufacture the window, as they are made to order! Fast forward 2 years later and we have since had 2 other sashes replaced which DO NOT LOCK! They sent a repair guy out to see if I was locking them correctly.. really! We know how to lock windows! This was February 2022! Here we are February 2023 and nothing! I called today to only be told that the repair guy didn't put in the order to replace the unlocking windows, like he said he would and he can't either because he need it to be verified by yet ANOTHER REPAIR person. I have been fighting to get these windows fixed, still being told the same thing... They are behind. I have a "repair" man coming now on MAY 3,2023, mind you I called today... In addition, the 3 other windows that also need to be replaced can't be ordered because I can't read the numbers on the sticker that is on my windows from 2013! So I have to wait until May for the repair guy to confirm they are bad before they can be ordered.. and from May it will take 18-24 months before they come in.

I have made over 20 calls to this company trying to get this handled, wasted too much time! We have had sales guys walking around our neighborhood in the past asking about satisfaction, explained ALL THE ISSUES, assured they would investigate and call us when they got to the office... STILL waiting for those calls..

How is this company even in business! I asked if new customers had to wait 12/18 months for installation and was assured that they can install windows within 2/4 weeks! So why make those of us that trusted you and already spent money with your company wait!

I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs Tuesday for guidance! This is out of control. I tried to be patient but come on, 3 years! I've explained that it's a safety issue not being able to lock my windows, still no rush! You better believe I will NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! Shady business practices!

Desired outcome: I would like my windows fixed and replaced with quality windows, as promised when purchasing.

We had 5 windows go bad from them took 18 months to get them. When they were putting the new ones in I heard a big bang. I asked if everything was OK. He said yes but they did not have one of the windows. Really I think he broke it. They said they would rush it but still waiting. Will not buy anything else from them.
