Light In The Box LightInTheBox Review: Frustrating and Disappointing Experience, Missing Parts, Poor Customer Service

I highly advise against ordering from LightInTheBox, as my personal experience has been nothing but frustrating and disappointing. I placed an order for a LED pendant light which cost me over 250 euros, which includes the lamp itself, shipping fees, and taxes. However, upon receiving the package, I discovered that some of the parts were missing, thus rendering the product impossible to assemble.

My first complaint about this store is that the instructions provided with the lamp were useless. I understand that the lamp is not that hard to put together, but having proper instructions would have made the process significantly easier and more straightforward. Secondly, I have been trying for almost six months now to obtain the missing parts. I have received shipments containing nuts and additional parts that were not needed, and only two of the missing parts were sent to me. I had to pay a tax for the parts that should have been included in the package in the first place.

I have sent dozens of pictures and had several exchanges with the customer service team, but they still made a mess of the situation. The latest response I received from them is a request to find a shop that can make custom metal parts similar to the one I need. Meanwhile, I continue to wait for a solution that never comes.

Despite sending messages back and forth, all I get are empty promises and automated responses, such as "Thank you for waiting," "We are currently in contact with the supervisor," and "We appreciate your patience." It's frustrating because even though they replied promising to provide a solution in 24 hours, I waited for a week, and still, nothing happened.

In addition, the parcel was priced at $40+, and I had to pay a tax for parts that should have been included in the box. It's not smart to spend your money here. You'll save on nerves and time. The company claims to care about its customers but doesn't follow through. I've spent a considerable amount of time trying to address this issue, with no compensation offered whatsoever.

I recently received an offer of a 30% refund, but that solution is entirely unacceptable. The company states that the pendant lamp is ready to ship in 5-10 days, but it's been six months, and still, I have not received my missing parts nor a full refund that covers all the expenses that I have incurred in this ordeal. In conclusion, I urge you to steer clear of LightInTheBox and buy your products elsewhere to avoid ending up in a similar situation.

Light In The Box Terrible Experience with LightInTheBox - Late Delivery and Unhelpful Customer Service

I have recently had a terrible experience with LightInTheBox, a website that sells clothing, accessories and home decor. My brother ordered a set of make-up brushes for my birthday present on the 2nd of January, and according to the website, they shipped it out on the 4th of January. However, until this day, the product has not arrived. We chose the shipping method that claimed it would take 5-13 days!

I have reached out to them many times through email, stating that the product hasn't arrived and that the tracking has stopped from the 15th of January. I requested either for them to do something about it or to send me a refund. However, all I received from them were the same generic responses indicating that I should wait or call my local postal office. It has been over a month now, and I am still waiting for the package that may never arrive.

The responses I received from them were all very similar and vague. They apologized for the delay but gave different reasons like customs delay, failed delivery due to my absence, and even an extremely busy schedule of the courier. The most frustrating response I received was when they told me to go the post office and prove that I have not received the package. I am not sure how anyone can do that!

From my experience, it seems that all LightInTheBox wants to do is to take your money and run you around looking for an unset product. They are not helpful at all and barely seem to care about their customers. I had never been so angry with a company before, and all I want now is a refund of my money.

In conclusion, I would not recommend ordering anything from LightInTheBox. If you do order something, be prepared to receive it late or even not receive it at all. It is best to avoid this website and save yourself the frustration.

Light In The Box LightInTheBox Review: Poor Quality, Difficult Returns and Fraudulent Charges

more expensive than the costume itself. They refused to cover the return shipping costs. To add insult to injury, they also informed me that they do not accept returns if the item had already been worn. Well, how else am I supposed to know it doesn't fit or is not as described? Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed with my experience at LightInTheBox.

After reading reviews from other customers, I realized that my experience wasn't unique. Many people have received incorrectly sized or poor-quality items that look nothing like the pictures on the website. The return policy is also a nightmare, with customers being required to take multiple photos, sometimes even of the original packaging, just to initiate a return. It seems like they make it intentionally difficult for customers to return items.

In addition to the quality and return issues, there have also been reports of fraudulent charges on customers' credit cards and slow shipping times, with packages taking weeks or even months to arrive.

In conclusion, I would not recommend LightInTheBox to anyone. The prices might seem tempting, but the risk of receiving a subpar product and dealing with the hassle of a difficult return policy just isn't worth it. It's better to spend a bit more money on a reputable retailer and have peace of mind knowing that you're getting a quality product and good customer service.

Light In The Box Refund

I wish I read the reviews before I purchased from Lightingthebox

Every item was oversized, of poor quality and lousy construction. In an attempt to get a return label, I was bounced from person to person in customer service. Most of the time no one even responded. Then I was told to ship the merchandise to China, at my expense, for a refund. The shipping charge was over double the cost of the clothing returned. They are the most unreputable and despicable organization in the industry.

Light In The Box Non-existent customer service & disgraceful returns policy

I am not satisfied with my order and have tried to contact the customer service.

The customer service "ticket" option is a joke. I have written more than 10 messages regarding the return of bad quality & overpriced clothing but have received no reply after 5 days.

The returns policy is a disgrace - I am required to spend up to $40 to return to China and there is no guarantee that I will receive my refund.

A fellow unhappy customer has still not received his refund after 6 months!

Desired outcome: A full refund for my useless items without having to send them back to China.

Light In The Box Order not received.

I initially placed my order with LightInTheBox on July 25, 2023. To date, I have not received my order. On my order page I see two tracking numbers.

1) 92144903444912910000750899 - which says it was delivered on August 11, to an address in Cedar Grove, New Jersey.

2) 92124903402788000004143111 - which says it was delivered on August 14, to an address in Caldwell, New Jersey.

My address is in Illinois, at 13089 Timber Court, Palos Heights [protected]. I do not understand why the orders were delivered to New Jersey. Also, back on August 12, I notified them that the order was not received, and on August 15, I responded to their email and resubmitted my address. Today is September 25, and the order still has not been received.

Thank you for your consideration.

Desired outcome: Receive my order, or refund the cost.

Light In The Box Dress too small and can't return

I purchased a dress from this company in my size but when the dress arrived, it could not fit up my thighs. I immediately went on line to the company to inform them of this issue and wanted to return for a bigger size but was informed that the company does not accept returns on items as they say are MADE TO ORDER. I informed them I was not aware of that information but three website never said that you could not return the item. They keep telling me if my size was wrong that it was not their fault but it was because the size they have is not the correct size. I even had a sister of mine try on the dress and she is 2 sizes smaller than me and she couldn't fit it. The dress was extremely small and they would not give me a refund or resend another. This is not a good company because it is not forthright with their customers.

Desired outcome: I want my money back or the dress to be remade in my size.

Light In The Box Order not available to start a return

I’ve bought a dress that doesn’t fit and that want to return. What happen is that I paid it via Apple Pay and the order doesn’t show up in the app and, for this reason, I’m unable to start a return. I have contacted their customer service and nobody is useful enough to help me. They only give 7 days to return and I only have 5 more days left. Time goes buy fast, specially when you need things to move on.

If this is not resolved, I will dispute the payment and send the dress back to any possible address I find from Light in the Box.

Desired outcome: Return the dress that doesn’t fit me.

Light In The Box Unauthorised use of contact detsild

I receive over 30 scam email’s a day all coming from light in the mix sharing my email address. I have tried everything even unsubscribe but it does not work

They all come from the states daily and I am constantly blocking them to no avail

Please stop this for me and I am sure everyone else

All emails seem to be about cool gadgets or Biden administration. Not relevant to me

Light In The Box The website nor the app lets me create a returns ticket to customer service!

I'm following all the steps (online and via the app) and I can't contact Customer Support to return items. The last step 'Submit Ticket' simply won't work! No ticket is being submitted.

I bought two pairs of trousers described on the website as being made of 100% Cotton, but in fact, they are 100% Polyester. Had I known this I wouldn't have purchased. Very disappointing to be misled like this.

Light In The Box difficulty returning terrible items

The return process is extremely difficult . no return label is provided. the emails give customers the run around asking for photos of the items to be return - which were sent, only to be told that they will not pay to return (when the email distinctly said they would if the photos and barcodes of the items were provided). To the return the items it is not possible to use any of the regular carriers. Truly terrible service. never use this company. do not purchase from this company.

Desired outcome: PAID RETURN POSTAGE FOR ITEMS and FULL REFUND.

Light In The Box Stained glass birds

I bought 2 of these. They are nothing like the pictures on the site. They are plastic and paper. I did not receive any information on returning the items if unsatisfactory, and when I went onto the website, it stated that returns must be made within 7 days. I still cannot find out how to return these items and receive a refund. This is the most appalling company I have ever dealt with, and they should be prosecuted for false advertising, as the items bear no resemblance to the photos.

Light In The Box Light in the box

I purchased 3 dresses. I have tried to return 2 of them, both did not correspond to the product measurements. I wanted to exchange one and return the other. I have tried numerous times to click the "confirm" return / exchange button but nothing happens but strangely enough if I click on the "cancel" button it works immediately.

I ordered one dress for a wedding - I was happy with the quality. The company state that one can get the item altered instead of going through the lengthy process of returning, but there is no seam allowance and it is not the type of dress that could be worn other than to a wedding. I am very disappointed with their customer service and the fact that I can't return the items and that if I could it would cost me €21 to send to China when I thought I was buying from Light in the box .ie

Desired outcome: I would like to refunded for the dress I required for a wedding and exchange the other dress. I do not think I should have to pay the return cost of the garments as I used the product measurements.

Light In The Box A dress I ordered far too tight

This company is a scam the material is cheap and poor quality. The sizes are all inncorrect. I'd say never ever order from here. The seems of the dress are poorly cut and sewn! As you can see in my pictures the waist is far too tight and small. Either they're trying to save material and give their customers a hard time. Absolute scammers! The sequins fall off. And worst of all its so tight! I'm appalled! Disappointed by their rubbish quality! I will never ever order from here ever again! Because of their non return policy I can't get a refund! And worst of all I can't wear this dress to my graduation. They suggest exchange but who wants to exchange something when they charge to ship it out to you. Again leaving me more out of pocket. I'm sorry to say but this buisness only cares about money not customer satisfaction. This is why Shein is more popular.

If you want a nice dress get from Shein as they very nicely accept refunds and the return shipping is only £8.

Light In The Box Orders not appearing in my account

I've received a delivery which I wish to return. The quality of the cardigan I purchased was really bad. Each time I've gone into my account, it doesn't show up any of my orders or item delivered. I ordered two items paid with PayPal.

Because there is nothing showing in my orders , it now means I can't return the item.

Name is jean clerisson, 5107 lancaster ave philadelphia 19131 been order from light in the box over 2 years, however in june I spent 144$ order, now almost september still not received, all I get from tracking company, we gonna help, for weeks same thing we gonna help help never arrive, lastly they said package drop 7 o'clock behind door of the store, store closed at 6 o'clock, I request full refund over 2 weeks no answer, company communications is lousy, must be fixed to continue to do business with americans, waiting for my refund

Light In The Box Christmas t shirts 2 no

Delivery date on these 2 items was17 th July although I was notified at short notice I was not able to get to the urbanisation gates due to me being semi invalid using a mobility scooter.

More time should have been given and another visit should have been tried for access.

I have just had a Delivery of different shirts 3 in no and corrious delivered no problem .

I still would like these 2 shirts before asking for my money back via PayPal.

Light In The Box Refund not received

Order number [protected]

The items were returned on 26 June 2023, at a cost of £25.40. A copy of the proof of postage was forwarded as requested.

I have checked the return progress which is still saying awaiting return. The return process is appalling. It says allows 3 to 4 weeks, it is now over 7 weeks.

I look forward to this matter being resolved as a matter of urgency.

26.8.2023 - this is he first response I have received from all customer enquiries and subsequent complaint. As informed to both ‘Light in the Box’ and complaints, proof of postage was sent as per instructions for returning goods. I have not received any communication regarding the returns - so disappointed.
