I have not used justanswer in over 2 years. I did not realize I was being charged. I recently canceled my “membership” but THEY CHARGED ME AGAIN. I only had one question and now all this time I have been getting charged? This needs to stop immediately. I have no use for this and haven’t got the past 2 years. This is a scam and I want it to end. I have already tried cancelling and nothing seemed to work

Desired outcome: I would love my money back of the past two charges but would just love to stop being charged

I refer to email from ma araceli on nov 22 ref 1643138

i was advised by anton khomyk on nov 23 that my subscripton had just been cancelled but my bank statement dated nov the same date shows a further debit of $67.98 when i was expecting a credit for the same amount from the oct overcharge.

Would you please investigate and advise.

JustAnswer One simple question

Hi

I entered this site today and paid $2. Then discovered I was charged $70. When looking further discovered like others that I paid for a membership I didnt want or know about. So want my money back and cancel subscription immediately.

How unbelievable of you do to business this way.

The company I used was Just Answer. It was a simple question actually and was a technical issue. Not resolved as I disconnected when I saw I was charged $70 looking at my account.

JustAnswer Misleading customers into expensive subscription

I sought veterinary online advice for £5 in May 2021, during an emergency situation when a pet was dying. It appears I signed up to a monthly subscription for £27, which I was not aware of and haven't used, that has built up to a hefty bill over time. Customer replied that this was my fault and I could have cancelled, but I was rushed at the time I made the purchase, and could not remember signing up for a subscription. All reminders seem to have landed in my junk mail. I did not spot it on my online banking standing orders afterwards either because it was done through PayPal, which I did not know could do subscriptions separately, or I would have cancelled the subscription straight away. I admittedly must have missed something, but I emailed and explained the situation to them several times and left a review online, so they ended up giving me part of my money back. Going by other reviews, there are a lot of cases of people being misled into subscriptions, not aware what they are letting themselves in for. Even if the initial error was on my side for perhaps not unticking a box, thinking I was making a one-off purchase, I'm not sure how they can now morally hold on to £200 that I unknowingly gave them, when I took nothing of them in turn. It would cost them nothing to return my money, I did not use them once since. I offered them an admin fee, but it would appear they are very happy to make money out of my mistake. It's hard to avoid the impression that unsuspecting customers taking out unwanted subscriptions by accident may be part of the business model.

Desired outcome: Refund for the outstanding 6 or so months of my subscription

You said you are sorry, and asked me to write yet another email to you explaining my situation, which I happily did again, given the hope for resolution. Yet I get the same reply again, that you will not refund me the first 6 months of my subscription, because, although you acknowledge my unwanted membership in 2021, "the link is no longer available in the system". You knew that I had already received a partial refund - why did you offer a resolution on this board in the first place, if you had no intention to give me the rest of my money back? A multi-million company is incapable of refunding less than £200 - really? Why do you not speak to your manager, and colleagues in Finance to get around this "technical issue"? In case you were wondering: I do not object to you paying my money straight back into my account; I'll happily give you my details.

JustAnswer Unauthorized charge

I requested legal advice through Just Answer’s chat assistant and was given a $5.00 price to be connected with professional advice. I continued to the following page and submitted my payment method for the amount of $5.00 and received a text message from the supposed attorney who by the way stated that he could not answer any legal questions because he wasn’t authorized to do that but general information only (THEN WHY ADVERTISE LEGAL ADVICE?).

Not only was my question not answered but as we ended our conversation I received a message from my bank about a $39.00 transaction from Just answer. I called the number and and requested a refund immediately but their customer rep was extremely disrespectful and kept repeating there would be no refund and he had “already cancelled my membership and there would still be no refund” in a “ha-ha” tone.

I tried once more through their website and received the same nasty treatment and they provided me with 5 screenshots worth of their abusive and predatory business.

JustAnswer Charge your credit card without approval.

The trial price is $1, which allows you to ask unlimited questions through 12/23/2022. Your order ID is [protected]-10, and you will be charged the $53 monthly membership fee starting 12/24/2022 unless you cancel. Cancel anytime.

Just Answer charged me the first day, called support and they refused to honor their email. They turn removed all my questions on their site asking if this was illegal to protect themselves. The lawyers are instructed to not answer these questions another their fraudulent actions.

Desired outcome: Reimbursement and stop charging my card.

JustAnswer Just Answer Membership

Just Answer claims to 'inform' you of their monthly service fees. The only amount displayed on checkout is the fee for the question you're asking. In my case, this was R15.00. Nowhere was any mention made of the amount that it will cost you to sign up for a membership. Nasty surprise - especially if you're paying in ZAR. R378.00 and an extremely rude 'customer service' consultant later, I guess I have just lost my hard earned money in a matter of seconds. Apparently, this is not refundable. So much for the CPA.

JustAnswer Membership Charge

I was charged for a membership when I thought I was paying for a question to be answered by a medical professional. I did not agree to a membership, nor do I want one. Furthermore, the “expert” was far from being an expert and lacked basic discussion skills. The question I submitted was answered with a quick “possibility” and a suggestion that I have already done. When I replied to his suggestion stating that I had done that within the past 14 days he seemed to have not read my response completely and responded with another message telling me to do the same thing. My question and concern was not answered. It was not attempted to be answered and was honestly a terrible experience. This site is a scam and I expect a refund for the “membership” fee that was thrown in there promptly!

Desired outcome: Refund of my money immediately. I will be filing a scam report with my bank institution and also posting reviews everywhere possible to ensure others are not taken by this scam company.

JustAnswer unauthorized credit card charges

At some point earlier this year, when having a wireless TV crisis, i contacted Just Answer. To be honest, I don't recall whether or not the advice I received resolved the problem.

I had and have no problem with a one-time billing, but i did not sign up for a monthly billing on my Mastercard. I ask to be removed from your billing list immediately and will do anything can to block payments from this end.

Desired outcome: Removal from billing list and an end to the monthly bill.

Hi I’m complaining about a transaction that has gone out my account which at the time I didn’t know I was signing up to I only thought I was paying a £1 for someone to help me not be committed to £35 coming out my account monthly I’m really not happy about this and think it’s a con I would like a refund of all the money taken please

JustAnswer Fraud by just answer

Regarding Order ID [protected]-746: I immediately sought a refund and was refused and was hung up on. Here's my recount of what happened today, 11/14/2022. I entered what the reason why I was seeking legal advice or service. At this time I was asked concerning something concerning additional money and I said no since I am on sick leave at this time and had no money. I was then presented with the following text before going to a credit card payment webpage: "OK, Got. I'm sending you to a secure page to join JustAnswer for only $5 (fully-refundable). While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the ** info omitted for privacy** Lawyer about your situation and then connect you two. So, I went to a payment page. I once again saw the same text. That it was a $5 (fully-refundable), so I entered my credit card info and then I got 2 notifications from my card stating that 2 transactions were made. One for $5 and a second transaction for $69. I immediately contacted customer service over the phone. The chat customer service wrote that none of the charges are refundable and that the webpage banner listed for me both of charges. I argued that is not what I saw and that I haven't used any of the services, that I immediately cancelled the membership and that since I'm making contact immediately to request a refund the money charged, and customer service person still said, no. I cancelled the membership at 3:15am EST on 11/15/2022. I received a notice that the transactions were pending in my account, I have notified my bank that only $5 was authorized to be withdrawn and that I did not authorize the $69 at 3:37am EST on 11/15/2022. I also first tried to charge the $5 on another account but the site told me that I did not have enough money. I received a notice from this account stating that the $69 was also charged to this account.

Desired outcome: I would like to receive refund asap since my account is now overdrawn and no way to cover other bills,

Yes this was unrotected internest sex, you pay $$$, and you get screwed. The website says get your answer for $5 bucks ? OK I had a simple Microwave question at 9:00 am THEN I found out at 9;01

Another $5.00 bucks

Then $40 bucks

And now after 5 hours someone got back to me without anything other than "sounds like the magnatron is bad" -

Thats another $25.00

I just had unprotected internet sex and they didn't even kiss me.

This WILL BE THE LAST TIME I EVEN REMOTELY THINK OF USING THIS SYSTEM

OH s****T I'll probably be charged another $25 bucks for posting a complaint.

I then called customer service and was still told, no refund. I cancelled the membership at 9:13 EST on 11/10/2022. The transactions went through at about 9:05 EST on 11/10/2022.

Desired outcome: A refund. I'd rather them refund the money than I have to go forward with contesting the fees through me credit card company

JustAnswer Just Answer fee on credit card

We were initially pleased with just answer service until the renewal fee showed up on my bill without any warning. My husband did not tell me when signing up that it would renew. Not even sure he knew. I called to cancel and ask for refund. Joseph refused to assist me. When I asked to speak with supervisor, he told me “they’re all in a meeting.” When I persisted, he offered to transfer me to his supervisor. I was placed on a never ending hold with no one ever answering. This is terrible customer service. Would like refund of renewal fee and cancellation of this.

I joined the membership because it stated it would be 5 dollars to join and 46 a month it’s misleading because they make it seem as if the 5 dollars will be a trial period and then you have membership and you can cancel at anytime but they charged me 51 dollars up front it’s very misleading and when they give you answer it’s a general response with no reason or explanation really why they come up with the answer they give. There was no legal info provided why a claim would be valid or invalid. I specifically asked about ADA regulations and informed them about my fmla concerns but my question was specially regarding ADA regulations and how it could affect a claim not about my fmla which fmla and ADA have similar rules ADA regulations go further in depth and how your rights could be vioalted beyond just fmla and my ada concerns were not addressed at all. I feel as if they are going to charge the 51 upfront they shouldn’t say it will be 5 to join and monthly membership 46 a month it should be implied the membership and join fee will be all applied at once it’s very misleading and confusing. And once you cancel the membership it’s hard to get connected to someone to express your concerns or make a complaint.

JustAnswer Membership

As it says in the titled membership is disrespectful to its customers.

The setup of just answers is fantastic. You ask a question you get an answer by a professional they answer it they give you the information you need that's it.

The problem is the way the company is run is very shady and disrespectful.

1st problem when I signed up I thought I was only paying $5.. After the $5 that's just a fee then it's a $29 membership that they charge you after the fact that they never tell you when you're signing up.

2nd problem if you ask too many questions on the site They considered that over use when I did that and they canceled my membership without telling me. They never stated anywhere that you have to ask only a certain amount of questions. They stated it's an unlimited amount of questions you can ask under your membership they lied.

When I called customer service about what was going on because I didn't know at the time. They told me my membership was canceled but they said they didn't know why. I said why I didn't cancel my membership and you kept my money for it.

To make matters worse I only had the membership for like a week. So I still have 3 more weeks on my membership. Keep in mind they keeping my money for membership I paid for that I can't use anymore.

Anyway when I spoke to the customer service representative and I was asking for an answer why I didn't get an email or a text message or a phone call what was going on in the Y. She kept on giving me different answers but she didn't answer the question. So then when I asked her again it's because she said I abused the site by asking too many questions and that's why they canceled my membership. I was clearly told that my problem would be answered at a cost of $2.

Apparently when you give card details for the $2 payment, you are also signing up for a monthly subscription at $41 per month.

The $41 coming out of my account was a shock.

I have had communication with them since. They've cancelled my membership thankfully. But refused to consider a refund.

JustAnswer Unauthorised charges

In July 2022 I made what I considered a one-off payment of $2 for some information, but what I failed to realise was that there would be an ongoing cost of $41 per month. It was hidden in the application somewhere which I think is a bit fraudulent. It wasn't until I checked my account today that I realised I had been paying this money out. I rarely use this account so I don't go online very often to check it. Apart from the initial payment of $2 I have paid out $328 for a service I didn't know I had or used.

I googled Just Answer to find out what it was and found a 1800 number to ring as I had no idea how to login to stop payments.

The operator was helpful and cancelled my payments but said because it was in the information that I would pay $41 per month so she couldn't give me a refund.

My problem is that it wasn't clear about the ongoing payments and from just reading other complaints I'm not the only one.

Desired outcome: I would like a refund for a service I didn't know I was paying for.

JustAnswer I asked for help with problem with laptop. Tech could not resolve issue.

I spoke with tech via chat and after a few moments he told me he could not solve the problem. Ultimately, I solved the problem myself and I am not a professional in the tech world. I don't feel the tech gave any effort at all. Very dissatisfied with results with Just Answer. My account was charged $46/00. I would like to be reimbursed.

I don't have my ticket number. Please look up account.

I signed up for your service to find an appliance repair tech while working in a client's home, on or about 8.25.22. I agreed to pay the $5 fee to use the service.

What I did not realize is that I was also charged a monthly fee of $28 on 8/26

Then I was charged $28 again on 9/26

And $28 AGAIN on 10/26

I believed I had cancelled the service, as I had no need to maintain a subscription for your service.

I have no need for this service and made no use of it beyond my initial inquiry.

I would like these three payments refunded to me, for a total of $84.00
