JustAnswer unauthorized credit card charges

In December, I was told I could ask a question from just ask,about my tv for $1. When I received my bank statement, $46.00 was taken from my checking account. from Just ask.Transaction # [protected] taken on Dec. 16th. They did not even answer my question about my tv. This is not what I agreed to, and expect a full refund and cancel any subscription they think I might have ordered. Thank You

JustAnswer Billing

I just noticed they have been charging my credit card after I canceled 4 months ago! This is after I saw they charge me for 6 months. What a rip off. I could see if I was using there service but 10 extra months of 31 dollars a month! Ridiculous, they must be hard up for money because all the other complaints are also about billing. I'll just go to the Vet.

Desired outcome: Refund but I know it won't happen.

JustAnswer Unauthorized Charges

On 9/25, I posed a question to JustAnswer for a medical opinion. I got a one sentence response to my question which really offered me nothing of value. For this I see a charge on my Discover card for $1, $7 and $46 on 9/25. I did not create an account with JustAnswer to my knowledge and did not OPT-IN to their monthly subscription Service. Life happened and I got behind on reviewing my credit card charges, but discovered in November that I was charged $46 on 10/25 and $46 on 11/25 as well. I believe JustAnswer is involved in fraud by signing consumers up for monthly subscriptions without explicitly asking the consumer to OPT-IN for this service. As far as I'm concerned I did not authorize these charges to my credit card and because of that they are fraudulent.

JustAnswer Unauthorized Credit Card Charges

I received my Discover Card bill today and noticed charges made on December 29, 2022 for a Join Fee of $1.00 and a Tech Help for $55.00. As far as I can remember I never called or signed up for your service. You need to contact me via email @ [protected]@att.net and explain and arrange for refund of as far as I am concerned the fraudulent charges.

JustAnswer Billing Fraud,

Continued billing my credit card even after I explained I had one question only. I did not need a subscription. Company uses predatory, opportunistic opting in, until you opt out. They refuse change their predatory practices even though many people complain about their billing practices and these complaints go unheard because they can take advantage of people and make more money.

JustAnswer's predatory billing practices should be stopped.

Desired outcome: Refund of customers money and this type of billing practice should be banned as it's opportunistic and shows disregard for customers.

JustAnswer Medical question and answer with the meaning of what I didn't understand

I was admitted to the hospital after being attacked had nothing to do with much of anything else after running several tests on me because of my blunt head injuries it I wasn't told but I was told that I needed to stay at the hospital after a night and a half and having family trouble and being a single mom I had to go home because my daughter being missing I left ama and that was against everything and they weren't giving me any information and they and I left that medicine which was fine cuz I was more worried about what I was worried about after a few days I went and got my medical records so I could just go through him and see what they were looking at and what they were what it was all about I knew my eye was bad but then I come across that I've been having stroke in my frontal lobe and in my lower back lobe the. It also indicated that on my right inner carotid artery that there was complications of not getting enough oxygen to my brain in which causes the stroke I guess after finding out all these things and some other things I didn't understand I got on WebMD cuz I thought that it would be the most legitimate place to ask questions somehow there was a pop up for just answer and I got on it some way I don't know if you have anything to do with WebMD but I got to representative who told me that a doctor could text me almost immediately after paying a dollar and get you know paying a dollar through my credit card and I didn't think anything about it like a scam after a while why did it and after a while I got the text and the man literally chick what I wrote down directly from the hospital report that I should probably have it looked into more never explaining anything he told me exactly what I already got any natural person would already think that I just thought that he would give me some good answer to find out later that not only did I pay the dollar but I paid $50 because now I'm in a membership so I called when I found that out which was in December 2022. Not only was the customer service agent very rude basically laughed at me for saying that I would have a fraud case on him through my bank they said I'll give you a lawyer's number and basically said there's nothing I can do but understanding I had when I got off I believe that the membership was not going to be no more move on to December 23rd 2022 my daughter's father passed away we weren't together but unbeknownst to everyone it was sudden and money really got type now it's January 17th 2023 there is no more child support coming in I'm doing the best that I can as a single mom and I find out that the day before my daughter's birthday which her birthday is on the 18th I went to get make sure I had a little bit of money to buy a few things and I'm overdrafted because just answer to their membership money out again and I called again they said I couldn't really understand the lady but she told me that is guaranteed that I was going to be off of the membership I could have swore she told me she was baby back my money and I thought that she was nice about it but I get email from the man that I put in the second column about the company saying that the membership service that eject a person that was seriously scared and sick and took their money just like that not even understanding everything that someone could be going through let alone being scared that's my complaint

Desired outcome: What I want to happen is that scans like this don't happen especially when it comes to people that are sick or poor or anyone at all I want my 101 back I was only going to ask for that 50 back.

JustAnswer Unauthorized charges

On 12/6/2022 I called in to cancel the membership. I was told that it would be no problem that I would not be charged. They charge me not only in Decc 2022 but also on January 14,2023. I called again the person was rude and hanged up on me when I tried to give him the dates and names. This is is a very unprofessional and unpleasant company. They take your money and refuse to treat you with respect

JustAnswer Ask a vet

I used Ask a Vet pay per question and was asked if I was willing to pay $5 for my question. I confirmed that and thought that all went well but then noticed that I was being charged $35 monthly as well, which I didn't agree to or sign. I looked through my text conversation and never once were any additional fees brought up. I did not sign up for a membership and am disappointed since I otherwise found the person I spoke with to answer my one question helpful.

Looking through the terms I was texted I was not:

1) "provided any notice of upcoming automatic renewal" (that I didn't sign up for but if I did I should have received notice the times I was additionally charged according to that logic),

2) I was not told of any fees other than $5 "Sign Up Fees. Some Customers/Members may be charged a sign-up fee disclosed at the time of sign up for a Membership. The fee is automatically charged to the Member’s payment source provided on the Platform."

3) I was not toldof any remainder of the selected price charged at the time an Expert responds. "Pay-Per-Question. Certain customers may have the option to participate on the Platform with the pay-per-question model. Using Pay-Per-Question, you select the price that you are willing to pay for the Site Access Benefits for a single question. Once you have selected the price and submitted your payment information, your question may be posted on JustAnswer. A portion of your payments will be paid to the Expert and a portion to JustAnswer. You will be charged in one of three ways depending on the payment source, as described on the payment page: (i) when the question is posted; (ii) at the time an Expert responds to the Customer’s question; or (iii) $5 upon the posting of a question, with the remainder of the selected price charged at the time an Expert responds. Charges are not refundable except as expressly permitted in these Terms."

Desired outcome: Stop charging me for a service I didn't sign up for.

JustAnswer Being charged for service I did not request

December 4, 2022 I had issues with my TV. I went to google to look for solutions. I pulled up the Just Answer site. I was asked to give my credit card information and I would be charged $1 to be connected to a tech. I filled in the information. I was conned to the tech. He suggested I unplug my TV for 10 minutes. When that did not work he suggested I purchase a new TV.

Nowhere on that first form did it state I would be charged more than $1. I was charged $1 on December 5. I was charged $55 on December 7 and another $55 January 12.

Desired outcome: I would like my $110 back. I think there webpage should make it clear the charge is far more than $1.

JustAnswer Veterinary “Services”

I had An emergency with one of my large iguanas and turned to them because no exotic vets were open on a Friday night. I agreed To a $5 chat fee then got hit with a monthly recurring membership fee when I entered My credit card in for the $5 fee. Nobody answered my chat. So I opted To pay for the $28 phone call from a vet instead and nobody called me. I contacted their live chat and the representative asked for my email and told me to hang tight while she looked up my records. She then hung up two minutes later because I was “Non responsive”. I have A screenshot of this. I reached Out to yet another chat agent. She offered me a free vet call for my troubles, but I had Already paid for that call.

I waited An hour and got NO call.

This site is a waste of time.

JustAnswer Monthly billing

Last month I contacted your service to get a one - time consultation with a lawyer to resolve an issue. Now I am getting monthly billings which I did not agree to. I only agreed to a one - time service. lease stop these billings. If this is not resolved, I will refer this matter to the Better Business Bureau and the Wyoming department that handles similar complaints. I used Just Answer on what I thought was a one- time service but now am being billed every month for a service I do not want and do not need. I have contacted the company three times to cancel whatever is causing this billing without a response. How can I get this problem resolved?

JustAnswer Refund 55.00 of the 60.00 charged for a monthly membership that is not clearly shown.

I see most fell for the same charge trap I did. I understood my initial charge to be 5.00 and I was connected to a professional in their field. I was notified I would be charged for a call from this professional and that was clear, and I agreed to the charge of 59.00.

I didn't see anything about being charged 60.00 per month afterwards as a membership fee.
I called about the 60.00 and was told that it was noted on the website, but I did not receive an email stating the membership charge for 60.00.
I called this company immediately this morning and was told that that was a charge that was listed on the website after the 5.00 fee.

I see may have had the same experience and since I was told I wouldn't be refunded 55.00 I guess I will have to go to my bank and cancel that charge.
I am confident this will be quickly resolved as I was shocked to see so many others scammed on the Monthly fee.
Just be upfront. Don't offer a 5.00 charge to change it to 60.00. That is a classic Bait and Switch.

JustAnswer JustAnswer: (Expensive) Advice on pricing painting

On 28th august 2022 I posted a question to JustAnswer after finding the website on Google. I understood that this would cost me $1. On the website and simultaneously via texts I was asked if I wanted to continue for a higher fee. I stopped the chat and was unable to reply to any texts JustAnswer had sent. After checking my creditcard transactions in january 2023 I noticed that JustAnswer have taken $28 from my creditcard on 5 different occasions. I didn't agree to go ahead with the extra services that had been offered to me. This is a SCAM. I don't even have any login datails for this websight. I want my money back.

Desired outcome: I request JustAnswer to reinburse the cost of $140,00.

JustAnswer The company falsified their protocol by charging additional fees that were not previously disclosed

The company proposes to answer a question for $2 and then without disclosing that there is an automatic $53 charge added for an unrequested membership that is charged monthly unless cancelled. The initial charge however is stolen from the users account and not refunded.

This happened on Jan.10.2023. I called their [protected] and got a convoluted response as to why the unrequested membership was automatic and so was the fee.

Desired outcome: I want my stolen $53 refunded

JustAnswer Annual membership charge imposed

On January 9, 2023 I had reason to contact Brother (Printers)Canada through their website and was directed to your service where I was offered access for $2. An assistant inquired what I needed and linked me with an 'expert' who was able to resolve my question/problem quite quickly. After I was finished, I checked my credit card charges and noticed two - one for $2, one for $79. I immediately contact your agents and was advised this was an annual membership fee. I indicated I did not want a membership now or in the future; however, the agent refused to refund the $79 charge. He did undertake to cancel future charges (membership) but would not refund the current charge. As i was not advised of this charge, I feel I am not obliged to pay and want my charge refunded as quickly as possible). Although the 'expert' was able to assist, his efforts did not warrant such a high charge,

JustAnswer subscription

My 15 year old granddaughter used my credit card to get a trial use and now I can't get the monthly recurring charge to stop. I get the same recording when I call. "Based on my phone number I have terminated my subscription and will no longer be charged." I call every month and get the same recording and a confirmation number. $46.00 keeps being charged got my card.

Now reporting it as fraud on my credit

card.

JustAnswer signed me up without consent

I asked a question they offered me an answer if I paid£1 refundable, and now it seems they want to take £35 per month. They have taken 1 payment from my paypal account on Sunday 8th January. I have now cancelled the authorisation. But Just Answer says they don't know me. They owe me £35, for an account which they say I haven't got. I want it back!

JustAnswer Refund: I haven't been informed on the $46

Dear Sir/Madam,

I wanted to ask a question at your website. It said that the charge is $1. Then I saw that it charged me $46 from my credit card without my approval. In fact, your chat service said: "I'm sending you to a secure page to join JustAnswer for only $1 (fully-refundable)." Therefore you scammed me.

I didn't even get the reply from the doctor, I canceled immediately. You can check it in my chat history. Since I do not wish your services and since I haven't even used them, I will kindly ask you to return the money to my credit card. You said that it is "fully refundable", so please kindly give me back my money.

JustAnswer Vet help

I was experiencing an emergency with my pet. I did a Google search to see if something my dog ingested was poisonous. I was directed to Just Answer. After a brief description of my issue I was redirected to a form to pay a fully refundable $5 fee to be connected to a vet. I now understand that their tiny print with full terms of service says they are going to charge you a monthly membership fee but people that end up on this site are likely in a urgent state of mind to get an answer. Who thinks to click on another link and make sure they aren't getting scammed. Just Answer takes advantage of vulnerable people and springs surprising charges on you. They didn't help me anyway. A company that operates business like this should be ashamed of themselves. It is immoral and lacks integrity. They do not have a satisfaction guarantee as they state. I will never recommend this company to anyone. In fact, I'll tell everyone to run as fast as they can in the opposite direction. I'm disputing the charge with my bank and including the screenshot that said $5 fully-refundable. COMPLETELY MISLEADING.

JustAnswer Refund for monthly fee!

I went on just.answers to ask a mechanic a question. They said the fee to ask my question was a one time returnable fee so I payed it. Later I was reading up on this website and saw many people saying they were charged a monthly fee by just.answers without their knowledge or approval. So I went back to site and did some snooping and wouldn't you know it, they had charged me a 35 dollar monthly fee to my credit card without my knowledge or consent! I canceled membership but am still being billed for the 35 dollars they charged me! Transaction is currently pending on my credit card. When I try to access any of their support/customer service areas of the site I just get an error report! Go figure. I want my money back that was wrongfully and illegally taken without my knowledge or consent!
