Intoxalock made me a specific offer with a clear cost, which I accepted. Once device was installed I began to be billed in completely different terms. They're customer "service" system is designed to keep you from getting anywhere, wear you down and waste your time. Just today I spent 1/2 hour with an obtuse, unintelligible foreign voice who FINALLY transferred me to the proper (?) dept.

Once there, SURPRISE - we suddenly have a bad connection. I finally got disconnected.

I've had this device for less than 50 days, and already had truck towed because the device would not work

Come to find out, it works sometimes or most of the time. I wound up being late for calibration and now I'm locked out.

I have driven ONE time since installation

I want this thing REMOVED and Intoxafraud EXPOSED. I'm going after them.

I keep having issues with the device not working properly I have had it completely replaced due to errors and it saying lock out in two days every time I get that code intoxalock charges me $75.00 my service center charges me $30.00 this has happened five times I've had to get my truck towed twice because my vehicle wouldn't start they replaced the handheld device the first time and replaced the entire unit the next I lost an entire day of work and am still having problems with the device not turning on, shutting my truck off and malfunctioning constantly.

Got lockout JUST DRIVING HOME.I DONT DRINK.DUI FOR PRESCRIPTION WEN IT ACTUALLY WAS ONSET TYPE 2 DIABETES.LIED ABOUT ALL THE COSTS.CONSTANT BLOWING SO U GET CAUGHT EATING SOMETHING THAT SETS IT OFF SO THEY CAN CHARGE YOU 100$ EACH TIME.EXPLAINING CONSTANT 5 AND 15 MIN RETESTS ARE TO VERIFY OUR INNOCENTS. WEN U BLOW CLEAN,5 MIN LATER SHOWS ALCOHOL,THEN CLEAN AGAIN 5 MIN LATER. It's a scam from the first lie.cost was to be 89$ mo wen actually is 131.not a mo but every 14 days so they can bill u 3 times some months.hour on fone,just to get run around.ask for supervisor who just lies.

You have been stuck for the year in a scam.they w bill u for ridiculous non existent values like sleeve.non homeless person.on and on.

So I was getting my ignition interlock device put into my 2001 chevy tahoe. Every time I didn't breathe hard enough or maybe was eating pizza they would charge me 80$ and car toys would charge me 20$. Intoxolock was by far not the problem. I called them on a regular basis and they delt with my questions and concerns amazingly, the problem was the people at car toys who where too cool to deal with any concern I had and treated me rather badly. To top it off I had a certified mechanic work on my car and all the sudden the interlock device stopped my car from turning over. It's really all just a scam and I'd rather drive illegally then pay those Jenks all the money I did weekly.

I slid into a car in the rain on 4/28/2023.  I have been unable to get my car repaired due to the intoxalock.  Both MD MVA & Intoxalock were advised of accident.  

I literally had to have my car bungee corded together to take to intoxalock for calibration (see photos).  I'm sure driving the car like this was illegal but had no choice. If the handheld isn't calibrated the car will NOT start.  I then get a warning that I didn't "blow enough" times and would be ejected from program & license revoked for a year.  I called MVA and told them the car was not drivable.  I said didn't you see there was no milage to which I am told they don't care if I'm not driving, I must still blow. 

Since 4/28/23, I have been trying to find someone to repair my car.  I spoke with agent at MVA who told me to remove it, get my car fixed, have it reinstalled, however, Intoxalock refused to allow it to be removed.  I spoke with same agent at MVA & told her intoxalock refused to remove.  She told me that she'd call them. She called me the next day & said it was all straight with Intoxalock.  I try to have it removed and they refused. 

My insurance company then issued check to me & my finance company for repairs. Great, my son-in-law can fix it and avoid all these hassles.  No, my finance company refuses to endorse check unless car in a garage. 

So next I reach out to the probation officer I had initially been assigned and she can't help me because Intoxalock wasn't part of the district court case.  

The guy who did my calibration in July gave me the 3rd degree for the car being on the road in that condition (see attached photos).  I explained that I was unable to find anyone to work on the car with the intoxalock. He referred me to someone he knew who'd work on it. My son-in-law and I rented car carrier and dropped off car 7/22.  Again, this was reported to both MVA & Intoxalock. On 7/26 the garage missed the "rolling recall" and car went into lockout mode.  Intoxalock released the lockout as I was not in possession of the car, however, MVA sent me notice that as result of the lockout, they are suspending my license and I am supposed to send it back to them.

My car was due for another calibration by 8/14/2023, which wasn't completed as the car is in the garage in a million pieces.  I tried to get them to extend the date - they refuse.  I tried to get them to allow me to go to garage, get the handheld device & take it in for calibration. They refuse. Car MUST accompany the device. According to Intoxalock, my ONLY option is to get a tow truck to pick up my car, tow it to intoxalock, then tow it back to garage. How asinine is that?

As of this time, the garage can no longer work on the car as it won't start.

All I wanted was my car fixed, however, I am literally stuck between a rock & a hard place.

I beg for your assistance! 

I haven't had device a week and the first day I received a violation 3, it was the first day it was installed I was going 4 miles to get something to eat but the machine kept saying retest every 2 minutes, I text install guy and complain prior to getting a violation and after the cut off the car it gave me violation 3 this was first day so install guy came back charged me and cleared violation so today was my second time driving since I got device and every 2 minutes I have to blow machine say blow harder, I'm blowing my [censored] off back level zero and it gave me another violation 3 and these crooks want me to pay 150$ dollars someone help me please adron [protected]

I had an Intoxalock interlock ignition device installed in my vehicle in November 2022 as a result of a DUI in 2018 to get my license back after not driving for 4.5 years. Immediately, I noticed unregulated practices. The training provided to use the device without failing the “rolling tests” was unregulated because I was initially told that you blow three times, suck in for a second, then blow until a beep signals the user to stop. I ended up paying $600 in lockout fees during the first few months due to not blowing hard or long enough which resulted in missing the “rolling tests”. Also, the blowing and sucking pattern can change at anytime. I eventually got the device checked to see if it was working properly at CarToys which costs $20 (at the CarToys I go to but can be more depending on the store). I was told that nothing was wrong with the device but the cord was hanging out a lot more which leads me to believe that there was a clamp in the cord that prevented my breathe from flowing properly. 2nd unregulated practice is payment schedule. Intoxalock does not have a set payment schedule for when they automatically withdraw fees from customers accounts. As well, when you pay through their app you’re agreeing to recurring payments that Intoxalock withdraws when they want. As well, you can not uncheck the box to opt out of recurring payments. 3rd unregulated practice: I received a violation 10 lockout message on July 17th 2023. The First Lady I spoke to said that a violation 10 is when the device isn’t registering samples and call back after I pay CarToys to remove the lockout message to get the $75 charge removed. Each violation that results in a lockout is $75 to Intoxalock and $20 to CarToys to get the lockout removed. The second guy said that a violation 10 is valid. The third woman routed me to special teams because she said the $75 charge should be removed because a violation 10 is when the device isn’t registering samples and is common in Washington state as a result of the weather. The special teams guy said,”It’s a valid violation code and you agreed to the terms and conditions so you must pay it.”

Last but not least, if you request an itemized list of fees your charged and a customer service person actually sends it to you, you will be shocked. I get charged $10 extra each payment for not being eligible for indigent status, which is every other week, and differs from my monthly payments of $80 that I agreed to and what my paperwork says that I received at CarToys upon installation.

My advice to anyone that is considering Intoxalock is to choose a different interlock ignition company. There are several. If you choose to go with Intoxalock read everything thoroughly before you agree to their terms. Their terms and agreements specifically address customers not being able to join a class action lawsuit. If that’s not suggestive of unregulated practices then I don’t know what is.

This company is a scam. In court I was told that I only had to pay 50% of all fees associated with the device. Every 2 weeks they take the full amounts out and you cannot call them to talk to an actual human being on the phone once you make an account it’s all automated and cannot get through. When this is over you will be refunding me got it? Good

The device has been in my truck for over a month. Intoxalock has sent the wrong paperwork over to penn dot 5 times now and I am paying for this device yet my suspension has not started since they have not done there part . I’ve been paying and had two calibrations . I’ve called the supervisor multiple time and he never returns my calls. I’ve call penn dot and no help. Me and my lawyer called intoxalock and they still have done nothing

First and foremost when my devise was installed my airbag and check engine light came on. I notified them and the garage. The garage put a code scanner on and a bunch of codes came up about airbag he said he doesn't mess with airbags. At first I had one violation my devise locked They said it was for missing a test. I new I never missed one then they told me it went off when I got out the car to go to work. They never told me that it could do that. Anyways I had no choice but to accept it or I couldn't get it back on. Then on my billing to pay it there was 2 of them back to back days.i was never notified nor did devise mention. Only on bill.Then all of a sudden it says I have another one.I took it in to get checked. Garage guy goes to check it but only opened door and looked at it for not even 15 seconds said it was fine. I got billed for that also. I mentioned again about my airbag light n check engine light. Nothing... Then again and again I got hit with the same violations. It's off I thought that everyone I stay in car and wait for it to ask for a txt it never has. I sat in that car n waited for it to ask for a test once I turned the car off and not once did it ask. So I tested my theory. I got out of the car and waited next to it then all of a sudden it asked for a test I jump back in and do the test. So far I got about 6 violations for missing a test all of them when I'm not in vehicle I mentioned this multiple times to them and nothing. Then comes the billing. This last time I had to go get it calibrated again for this same thing so I had to put money down on it I paid what needed to be paid immediately so I payed over a $130 on it. Then the very next day they took out $302 out of my cashapp card which was not the card I had in file for automatic payments. I used my cashapp card for one time only payments. My bank card from Wells Fargo was my only card I used for those withdrawals. I talked to many people over there and asked to get that money refunded because that was my rent money and it was never authorized to be taken. Even when I authorized it for my wells Fargo card it was only for a 2 week charge to be taken out which is around $60 not $300. So either way they were wrong. I tried n tried n I started to get very upset and used words I shouldnt have because I got angry. I was wrong for acting that way. I didn't know how to react to all this being done to me. I was being victimized by the people that ate there to help you. I had no choice but to ask them to have this taken off. I would much rather go without a licence and probably lose my job then to be a victim to intoxalock any longer. They know you need them and they take full advantage of this. They should lose their licence to do this. They shouldn't be able to run this business. They need to pay for there crimes to.

This is one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with. First they tried not to honor the coupon I had and now every time i try to download a copy of the lease it says "PDF failed to load" I've had the lease emailed to me, tried to download it from the website on my computer, and tried to get it from the intoxalock app on my phone. There is a problem with the document on every device, and every application i try to open it on. I tried just uploading it to the DMV directly and it gave an error saying there was a problem with the document. Intoxalock will not accept that the problem is with their document and they keep saying the problem is mine. Theres no way I can request my interlock license now because of this horrible company. Trying to get support for this has been a nightmare. They just keep putting me back on hold over and over

Nobody is helping at this company with my issues, certainly not the auto shops that install these devices

The interlock they installed is causing the following issues

-Car alarm going off at random

-Battery drains constantly and like today and other days I can't go to work until I get my battery charged or jump started. (battery is fine, car worked fine before having this device)

-the device has put me into two lockouts which I had to pay to have reset. 80 dollars each time.

I told them this and they said the vehicle/device would have to be inspected.

I had to pay for the inspection and take a day off from work. Only if the device came back faulty after the inspection would I be reimbursed for the device. And of course it did not come back faulty so I won't be reimbursed and now here I am again.

After having the device installed. I've had a issue to where they refunded me my money. Now that I will not change my review for them. After receiving about 5-7 seven calls from them to change my review. They still have yet to send my el21sc form over and it's been 14 business days so I am continuing to be charged for this device. The automated system is a nightmare to deal with! In my opinion this is one of the biggest scam in the world. I mean come on, who in there right mind would leave a review saying this was a great experience? All the reviews are made up!

1.) had device calibrated 1 week prior to 4th of july. Getting ready to leave town for the 4th, device shows past calibration, vehicle will not start. Weekend ruined. Device was faulty, and I was charged $85 lockout fee!

2.) also, device does random testing while driving... What the hell! I was on the 91 freeway in california in traffic, when it started to beep for me to blow in it. This is as dangerous as driving and texting and should be illegal, I almost hit the person in front of me. Because I don't know if the car will shut off or not if I don't blow into this.

(a) if anyone is reading this and it caused an accident like mine almost did, then this should be taking to the higher powers at be.

3.) got court order to remove device, made 2 appointments online, went to appointment and shop had no work order to remove it. Made a 3rd appointment, and this time prior to driving out there again, I called intoxalock to make sure the work order was provided to the shop! On hold for almost half the morning, getting switched from department to department and nobody can give me the a yes or no.

Complete incompetence!

I have had this device in my car since February 2021 it is July 2023. I just did my final calibration and when I call the dmv and asked when I was eligible for removal they told me September 2025! That is ridiculous I was supposed to be finish this month this is my 3rd car that I’ve had my device installed and they keep extending it I didn’t blow any violations or get any lock outs it is wrong what they are doing whenever I try to get help they keep passing the ball. Nobody is in charge but the are taking my money and time . They are the real criminal those Indian scammers. I plead out for 1 year with the device not 5 all the do is lie and pass the blame and take your money. I have my hands tied I can’t just remove it cause I’ll go to jail for driving with restricted. Nobody cares the department of homeland security and driver license services is a joke they just need to defund them they sit on their fat [censored] and not even answer the phone. I’m sick of it would someone please help me this isn’t right. It’s a violation of my constitutional rights as an American citizen. Do not! Do not use intoxalock they are scammers ! It is the worst service ever !
