IHOP Product and service

I just left the Loch Raven location in Baltimore, MD and I am floored by the lack of service and respect. Where do I begin being as though everything was wrong from the time that I entered. Let's begin with the sorry excuse for a server LaTaya. LaTaya needs several inservices from communication to poor work attitude/effort. Allow me to give you a tab bit of my background. Im a 43 year nurse who manages a skilled nursing unit and delegates to a staff of roughly 30 employees. This also entails dealing with the patients, their families and various outside vendors. Im including this information to say I know what customer service looks like and today there was no customer service given. My daughter and I were met by LaTaya in the foyer without her saying a single word. I initiated the interaction with a smile and stating "Hi, just us 2". She still never spoke a single word, grabbed menus and proceeded to walk away. Being a former waitress myself as a teenager throughout my twenties and not to mention at this very location when it first opened up in the 90's I knew this was her piss poor attempt to seat us. I asked " Do we follow you? She's a good amount of feet away from us now however replied "Yes, I told you that" . Of course my rebuttle was "No you didn't but ok". I ordered the spicy beef bowl for myself and the silver 5 for my daughter. About 15 minutes of sitting LaTaya makes me aware the the food item that I ordered isn't available. Why did it take that long when we were the only customers in the entire restaurant at that moment? It took the cook 15 minutes to look at the only order? I choose not to eat. The check was also placed on the tabke 5 minutes after the food arrived adding a rushed feeling. Once my daughter completed her meal which came to $6 and some change I gave LaTaya a $20 bill. Here's where it gets shaky. She comes back with $12 lays it on the table and walked away. I summoned for her and asked her where is the rest of my change. This chic in a dry unconcerned matter of factly way tells my that Ihop doesn't take coin change any more and 8 from 20 is 12. My check wasn't even $7 after tax so how she got eight is a mystery, if that we a rule of Ihop' s due to the pandemic it is understandable. Remember that I am a nurse and fully understand infection control protocols. However whats unacceptable is that when handed cash this was not communicated and once questioned LaTaya appeared annoyed that she had to explain. I even asked her where its printed because its not on the receipt or visible anywhere in the restaurant. Needless to say from beginning to end IHOP let us down tonight. I will not spend my money at the Loch Raven location moving forward. These types of interactions experiences are probably why the place was empty .

Desired outcome: Education for staffLet her read this

IHOP Refund for shortstack

Took forever to acknowledge us and be seated.

We had took a survey for IHOP for a free shortstack and they didn't understand how it worked (untrained)

Finally they said that they would honor the shortstack, but the rang up the ticket for full price.

When asked why, they said it was a mistake, but now couldn't void the transaction.

Bunch of lies because of untrained workers.

IHOP Hostess that sat us at our table

I took my wife to iHop today for Mother’s Day and it was a horrible experience. The woman at the front that sat us had us waiting 20 minutes discussing with another employee where they were going to seat us. They finally seat us at a dirty table and she said I will clean the table and proceeded to spray the table to clean it while spraying myself my wife and 5 year old child and all over our silverware. She left the silverware on the table I had to ask for new silverware seeing how’s she sprayed cleared all over the ones on the table. And then waited 30 minutes before anyone took our drink order never mind our food order.

IHOP Poor customer service.

I went to store #3188 on today and the service was beyond poor.

I stood at the door waiting to be seated for almost ten minutes. There was at least 6 six servers sitting all together in one both, laughing and talking really loud, I walk closer to make sure I was seen. Four looked at me directly and return to talk very Loud and giggling as if I wasn’t there. You would have thought this was a private party going on in the middle of the restaurant.

Finally I wave and asked to be seated. The server who was the loudest saw that I was irritated she came and seated me. However my server Mary stood there and continued to talk with the group. After about ten minutes or longer she came over and handed me a menu. She went back to the group and continued to talk. After fifteen minutes passed she came and took my order, I was wondering where were the manager. Another fifteen minutes Had passed and I finally got my food. I had to ask for silverware, I she brought me the bill and never came back, I asked another server to find her so I could leave. She made me feel very uncomfortable taking my credit card In the back when the register was less than five steps away.

In total I was there for about ninety minutes for a order of chicken and waffles.

Desired outcome: Maybe customer service training may be a start.

Who does that we simply wanted to eat breakfast had to go elsewhere and didn't eat breakfast until 12 noon.

Desired outcome: We would of excepted just an apology or a discount but he actually asked us to leave

IHOP Disrespect

I was in ihop on merchants rd around 10:00am. The whole time I was sitting and eating my meal with my 4 year old daughter all I heard was cussing and arguing in the kitchen. The guy was short wearing a red shirt and wouldn’t stop. It was very unprofessional and very rude. I wanted to say something but figured it would probably be best not too. My daughter kept asking who is yelling. Please address this situation as it was again very unprofessional.

Desired outcome: It to be addressed and I think he deserves to be fired I’ve never seen or heard something so unprofessional.

IHOP Unprofessional and Poor Service

Today, April13, 2022, at approximately 10:40 am, my 92 year old mother, neighbor (66 years), and I (almost 70), stopped at the IHOP restaurant, located at 4821 Cal Sag Road, Crestwood, Illinois 60418.

I am on a walker, my mother is on a cain. Initially, when we entered we were greeted by Anthony, He showed us to our table, placed menus on the table, and assistances us in placing the walker out of the way.

The problem started after Mena, the waitress, brought our drinks. She left the table, there was no silverware (it appears Anthony forgot to supply them), and we had trouble getting her attention. When she returned to the table, she went to the front desk and returned with them. Took our orders but when she return with the food but no condiments, again left right away, and we were forced to get her attention again. This time she came to the table and we requested salt, pepper, butter, and syrup. She left like to was going to get them but insist went to two other tables talked to the guest, and took orders. All of this took place while our food that was not hot originally got even colder. Another waiter passed our table but we were not able to caught him. The Manager, Anthony was passing by, so I started to tell him what was needed but insist of assisting he proceeded to attempt to scold me, telling me things that I felt were totally inappropriate, while also, constantly telling me to “be patient, and that she only has two legs.” She could hear what was being said, so when he looked back she was working on our request but upon returning to the table she still brought no syrup for the pancakes. I requested the manager and he said he was the manager, and there was no one else.

Yes, I am a senior, but I am a retired “Professional” , who was more then insulted by the way these two people conducted themselves, and that Anthony felt what he said was acceptable. Not to mention that Mena gave the impression that it was alright to stop serving a Black table, so she could attend to someone else.

Today, IHOP, did not live up to the slogan-“Come hungry. Leave happy “. Nor did your employees adhere to your Vision and Values: Integrity, Excellence, Innovation, Accountability, Inclusion, or Trust.

I have eaten at other IHOP restaurants in and out of Illinois, but I have never had such a disgusting dining experience. The food was cold by the time we received what we requested. No apology was ever offered. I would not recommend this location to anyone, and feel that I need to report this even further.

Desired outcome: Both employees should be retrained and we should be compensated for our meals

IHOP Company

I worked for IHOP at 50 Thruway Plaza Cheektowaga, NY, I was hired at 13.00/hr but was supposed to get retroactive pay to $17.50 because of my experience back to when I was hired. I was greatly overworked for the 2.5 months I was employed and was never paid correctly. I brought this to the attention of management on a weekly basis and every time I was told it would be taken care of and I would be compensated correctly. It was never taken care of and I am still owed all of the retribution pay. None of my paychecks were correct as far as payment. I was wrongfully and unproperly terminated due to lack of communication on behalf of management. Throughout the entirety of my employment at IHOP, lack of communication was an ongoing problem. As well as understaffing, mistreatment of workers, unsanitary working conditions, and no real leadership. I was forced to do jobs completely out of my job description such as filling pot holes in the parking lot and painting around the store. My picture and video was unwillingly taken and used against me unlawfully. I am not looking for anything from IHOP except the money I worked hard for. Money I was promised and that I'm owed. My phone number is [protected] and would love to hear back as soon as possible.

Desired outcome: I would like the outcome to be me getting paid what I am owed

IHOP My fiancee works at the Mayslanding NJ branch, ihop. She has been constantly harassed.

She has been harassed, threatened, and money has been stolen from her through services that she has provided for the customers. She has been called names, screamed at, and just recently, while she was using the latrine , the manager who is male, has barged into the latrine, not once , but twice, what do we do. Sexual jokes are told around the staff which is highly offensive.

Desired outcome: The Management and staff needs to be completely changed and rewritten, and everyone needs to be trained on discrimination and sexual harassment.

IHOP Service

I went to the IHOP in the Woodlands TX. As you know there is new management at this location. I've been going to that restaurant for 14 plus years. I knew everyone by name. Your new manager is racist as are her employees. Two weeks ago, I went for breakfast. Was seated and ignored for 20 plus minutes although staff walked right by my table. I left after 20 minutes and vowed not to return. Robert Stech. Skip.[protected]@yahoo.com

IHOP Extremely rude employees

We were traveling over the Holidays and stayed in Shreveport, LA. We got up the next morning and decided to have breakfast prior to getting on the road. We saw I Hop and decided to go in as it had been quite a while since seeing one. We walked into a completely empty restaurant and no workers in sight. We waited for approximately 5 to 10 minutes and still saw no one.
Finally, we walked to the doorway of the kitchen where there were some workers. We asked if they were open. Instead of answering with a simple yes or no, the woman that answered very rudely stated "People ask some of the stupidest questions, no, I'm just here for my health". She didn't even have the courage to face us as she said this. We then waited for about another 5 or so minutes, as did others that walked in. Again, no one came. We did hear someone in the kitchen ask another employee why she didn't lock the door. This was sometime between 8 and 9am. on a Monday morning, December 27, 2021. I didn't realize that I HOP closed so early as I was under the impression that they were open 24 hours. We felt it necessary to inform you how your business in Shreveport, LA is being run and the rudeness of the employees.
Thank you for your time,
Tina Wright

IHOP Service and Safety

Dec 25, 2021 I hops (Clovis NM) Time 12:30 pm. My daughter and I to have breakfast. We were over looked by our male server 4 time. We had not even got drinks before others after us were severed. I went and asked for water for myself and my daughter while we waited. My glass of water had red lipstick on it. Due to Covid and people getting sick. I spoke to the manager Shamika, she didn't care or offer to do anything about. My daughter and I left at went to eat at Dennis down the road. I hops has disappointed me for the last time. I will no longer go to i hop and tell everyone I can about my experience today. The I hops in Clovis is not a clean restaurant, serves your meal, drinks on dirty dishes and is not considered about Covid. No workers had hair nets or were wearing gloves while making customers food. The restaurant had food and trash on the floors and is a possible breeding ground for roaches.

Desired outcome: Retrain staff, Get a New Manager and have enough staff to even open and run a restaurant!

IHOP I want my $3.15 back for the onions and bell peppers

I order the 24.99 breakfast meal and there is no place to add onions and bell peppers to my eggs. It just says cheese online. So I pull up to the restaurant and ask to add onions and bell peppers and they charge me $3.15. That's more than kids meal just by it's self. Just for them to fold vegatables into the eggs. I can see if they have me a plate of onions and bell peppers but no. I will not come back until they fix this glitch. It's way overpriced and not worth it.

IHOP Outside eating area

Today my sister stopped at the IHOP on E. State St. in Athens, Ohio. Sign on the door said, no mask, no entry. There was an outside area to sit which was set up because of Covid. The area was full of sticky stuff on the tables and floor. There were about 10 people sitting out there. We all spent the whole time swatting bees away. The mask mandate of IHOP is asinine! Will never dine at ANY IHOP again. And the eggs were cold! Yuck!

IHOP Unethical behavior

Hi My name is Ricky Rands. Im a disabled American Veteran
I live in Port Orange Florida. Ive been eating at IHOP restraunt for years. I have always been treated well except for October 2 2021 at 9:47pm. I stopped by an IHOP restraunt to order food.
their was about 10 people in the restraunt. I ordered a breakfast and was greated by a young man named Mychel. He called me Chief. He said "What can I do for you Chief" I was offended. I gave him my order. He brought back my water I asked for and said "Here you go chief" So was offened he didnt refer to anyone els as chief except for me. I ate quietly
Mychel stoped by and asked if everything was ok. He said "is everthing ok Chief" So I referied to him as general. I finished my meal and I had no check I waited 15min after my meal. So I went up front to ask Mychel about the check and told him he was rude to me and not a good people person and I wanted to see the manager. He go offended and waived the check in my face and told me to get the [censored] out
of his establishment. After I signed the check he followed me outside and said what are you going to do now cracker.
He wanted to fight me. I was scared and just wanted to leave. I have never been so miss treated. I suffer from PTSD and have trouble sleeping after being in combat,

IHOP Lack of professionalism and inability to produce order

I went into the Layton, Utah IHOP to pick up my order that I had placed online 8 hours before, I placed online for a dedicated pick up time as I have only been here a few times, and it's always late or a problem so I thought by ordering 8 hours in advance I was sure to get my order on time.

I was greeted by the most disrespectful individual who said if you are looking for your order (after she asked me "what do you want" while standing counter) I advised her that I was here to pick up an order long story short and in her exact words were to find my name on the bags if it wasn't there "You are just going to have to wait" wow what great customer service so I ask to speak to a manager

The manager comes out asks me what happened I explained it to her, and asked her where my order was, she took my name she came back 10 minutes later told me she couldn't find my order and wanted proof I ordered it because nothing came through her kitchen she said, I told her I would have to go all the way home and get receipt, I then drove home printed out the order and went back I waited another 10 minutes for her to come out, She starts heading towards me and notices there is an employee there to turn in her uniform so she stops midway turns around and another 10 minutes I wait while she goes in the back then she comes back out and addresses the employee that no longer works there before handling my order that is now 30 minutes past due I show her the order and then she asks me if she can keep the paper and I will be refunded next week I asked her to repeat herself, I then began to tell her exactly how I felt, she walks away gets her phone calls her district manager and starts telling him I was cussing and yelling at her, so not the truth, I NEVER cussed at her ever called her out of her name or anything I did get loud explained to her that the 3 times I have been there have all been problems and the only decent one was Alicia or Elisia she had even offered bring me my food the order was so messed up to my home because she felt bad (ordered a sandwhich with no avocado and avocado is taking over the sandwhich, the fries and bacon seemed to be from breakfast that day) but while talking to her district manager, she said they said you'll have to wait until wendsday never the offer to remake and I could pick up later no other option presented excepted we will submit your refund wendsday

On everything holy stay out of that restraunt, it's chaos no one knows what the other is doing it's all chiefs no indians and total disrespect and disregard for Customer Service.

In this visit I was disrespected upon entering the establishment, then questioned and made to go back home and get a receipt instead of searching the database for my name or for online orders that day and then basically told I have to wait for a refund until Wedndsday it's Sunday Morning.

Desired outcome: I want what I ordered in addition to my refund at this point, but i want it made at a different IHOP

IHOP Worker

My daughter mikayla cox worked at the IHOP on Wilma Rudolph blvd in Clarksville tn. My daughter was always on time to work. The manager Jen never trained her properly by showing her how to clock in or clock out when she had her work an extra 3 hours then did not pay her and would not talk to her about this. I had to reach out thru this and finally got it straightened out. Well the manager Jen also did not tell my daughter about the portal, so Jen would put her name to work yet my daughter did not know. My daughter also told Jen over a month in advance that we had a family vacation planned and Jen tried to schedule her for that time. My daughter is very responsible and would call Jen, if Jen even answered the phone. The last was my daughter was not feeling good, still went to work and Jen sent her home. My daughter took a covid test and tested positive, my daughter called Jen and told her she was positive what did she want me to do, my wife and I were right there during the call as it was on speaker phone, Jen got angry in a non professional voice and then hung up. My daughters tested negative and tried to call and call and log into portal and found out she was fired with no call. My daughter showed up for work for her normal shift this morning and they said you were fired. If you care about your company and your retention of employees, then you need to retrain this woman or fire her and get someone who knows how to handle and manage the employees in a right manner. Extremely non professional!

Desired outcome: Retrain manager Jen

IHOP Cook's gross behavior/waitress insults

Being regular customers of your IHOP restaurant (50 Parsonage Road, Edison, New Jersey), my wife & I usually dine for breakfast with one of your waitresses (Birvena) being our first waitress of choice, however, over our last four visits, this waitress was not on duty resulting in waitress "PAULINE" becoming our regular server.

So happens that our breakfast visit of today (Wednesday July 21, 2021) became our first negative experience resulting in our walking out without eating owing to an insulting & negative display of machoism by one of your cooks.

Upon our orders being placed, coffee being served, waitress "Pauline" brought our serving to the table at which we were seated only to find that the cook had included breakfast potatoes which were ordered for my wife, but NOT for myself. This was brought to Pauline's attention who then returned to the serving counter to request of the cook to remove said potatoes; he immediately started berating the waitress by gesticulating with his hands/shouting at her while loudly telling her to "LEAVE ME ALONE". In addition to this cook's callous behavior, he then grabbed the plate on which the remainder of my breakfast was still "sitting", scraped off the potatoes, then literally "tossed" said plate back in the direction of waitress Pauline.

With my sitting position being at the first table facing towards all activities at the serving counter & within ear shot of the cook's tirade, my wife & I immediately told the waitress that we were insulted by the cook's behavior, requested the cost of the two cups of coffee we had already consumed, while also telling her (PAULINE) ne
We then requested the cost of the two cups of coffee we had already consumed, while also telling her (Pauline) that we would not be eating the food served after seeing/hearing the cook shouting at her & not being sure if SALIVA hadn't flown from his mouth onto the plate which was emptied of potatoes & tossed back towards her.

We are not ones to complain about trivial matters, we have eaten at an IHOP in every fifty states of the union & must say this is the first experience of an insult wherein such a display of gross behavior was observed; in addition, we do believe that this cook needs some "back room form of sensitivity training"; if he's too "busy to do his job as a cook", he ought to seek employment in another field while at the same time issuing an apology to waitress "PAULINE" who was only doing her job in her attempt at providing good service to your repeat customers.
