ENMAX Energy [EEC] Fraudulent estimated billing

I called Enmax to hook me up on 24th Jan 2024. I was charged $115.49 for the month of Feb and today, I got a bill of $398.97 for the month of March. I do not understand why my bill will be that high for an empty house, waiting for a tenant to be occupied. I feel cheated and think I have been robbed of my $

Customer service is horrible, won't wait to listen to my complaints plight before interrupting.

Recommendation: Southwest calgary

ENMAX Energy [EEC] Disconnection

I can't imagine you guys will do a Disconnection in the middle of the night at winter time. Is it really hard to understand? The payment will be made the next day and i was told that we will still have power (even not in full power) til the payment is recieved. And we get that, we agreed. But still you guys turned off the power and the worst thing about it is for the whole night. Hard to sleep with a 16 months old infant through the cold and chilly night. If a disconnection will occur make sure you don't do it at night mostly in winter time, where people normally sleep and cannot do anything about it or call somebody to resolve it until the following day.

ENMAX Energy [EEC] ENMAX water

I had a tenant move into a property. The tenant didn’t switch the water into their name. ENMAX was more then happy charging me for water for 3 years. I was never aware of it. The bill is now over 9000$ and they want me to pay it. I just found out about it after 3 years. Why did they not stop billing and shut off services after the payment wasn’t made from the very beginning they. They were more then happy assisting the tenant in scamming me !

Claimed loss: 9000

ENMAX Energy [EEC] Electricity

I was just sent a bill from Enmax stating that I have use 1076 kWH for this past month. Never in the 8 years I’ve own my house have we ever used that much. We usually are in the 475-590 range, with the odd high bill (maybe once a year) being in the 600’s.

This made me look into my bills this past year. The month of June, we were away travelling for 25 days and everything was turned off for that time, nobody home and still managed to rack up our 598 kWh.

Something is not right here.

Desired outcome: This needs some explaining and a correction.

ENMAX Energy [EEC] Gas

Removing an 80 year old woman from her gas account because she was in the hospital an unable to pay her bill is nothing short of corrupt.

You all should be ashamed of over doubling her gas bill over a bill that was paid immediately after she was released from the hospital. This is a person on a fixed income.

I will shout from the rooftops over your pisspoor corrupt behavior !

Desired outcome: Reinstate her original contract

ENMAX Energy [EEC] Meter reading and final billing

This is a letter I am sending to Enmax.

February 3, 2023
Enmax Customer Care
RE: “Overdue” Amount
Account Number: [protected]

To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is regarding my experience dealing with the following issue.

My small business has been using your service for almost 8 years now. Our electric meter is located in the business next to us (a bar), which is open Tues – Saturday Noon to 9 pm. Every month we have gotten estimated bills. I have called in several times a year to get the meter read, but never have gotten a response on this, if I did get any explanation, it was “we are not required to read your meter every month.” I have also requested any method of getting the meter read a different way. I was told to take pictures myself and if I did send in a picture, never got a response back. About every 12 months or more we would get an actual reading bill, and that always had a large credit, due to Enmax overestimating the bills throughout the year. This credit always was approximately 1000.00

During the summer of 2022, I met a part time meter reader that was covering for the regular meter reader. I explained my issues getting the meter read, and he explained that the regular reader only did his rounds in the mornings and was not “available” to read our meter during the bar's business times. Since the bar was closed that day, he told me that he would put in a service request to get our meter swapped to one that could be read remotely and he would also put in a request to get the meter read. The last time our meter had been read was December 2020.

Our meter was swapped in November 2022, due to the part time meter reader putting in the requests (which your telephone people had never done in the last 5 years) and also from my request to switch to Easymax.

I received my final bill of $448.88 which was paid on Nov 4, 2022. A few days later, I received another “final bill” for $1204.57, which showed a bunch of adjustments. I called into your service centre (which I was on hold for about 45 minutes), and the agent was very confused about my second “final” bill. She thought the reason was that they had done an actual reading and this money was due to Enmax not estimating enough for my bills. I tried to explain that I had repeatedly requested an actual reading over the last 23 months. That my bills, when they got read, were always overestimated. I also explained I had spent a lot of money upgrading my lighting, which is the major electricity user, to LED. I could not understand why my bill was so underestimated. She told me “I had to pay this bill” I said I would not without an explanation to my questions. She told me she would have a supervisor contact me within 48 business hours. I waited 2 weeks and no phone call. I called back and was put on hold again for a long time. I got another person, who again was very confused about the bill. I was told to “go next door and take a picture of the meter” and send this in. I told them I could not, as that meter had been removed and replaced with a remote reader. They told me I was out of luck and “had to pay the bill”. I requested a supervisor call me. It is now, February 2023 and still have not had a phone call.

My business does not make any profit. We operate at a loss, especially with the hardships of the last 3 years on retail. I cannot afford such a bill, especially under the circumstances with the way Enmax has handled my account.

• Only having a meter read once a year is not acceptable, which I repeatedly called in to get rectified and then taking 7 years to get a remote meter installed.
• Having the actual read bills always come in, overestimated for 7 years, then having the “final one” come in underestimated by a large amount.
• Having no explanation why my bill suddenly was underestimated, after I took steps to reduce my electricity consumption by installing LED lights.
• Since December 2020 not having my meter read for 23 months, with no opportunity to see if the rates were going up to avoid a big bill actual reading on the meter.
• Not being able to see the actual meter reading from the meter that was removed to see if an error had been made.
• I would have called in more often, but being put on hold for long periods of time, is a waste of my valuable work time.
• No follow up on phone calls promised.
• Sending a “final bill” when I converted to Easymax, then weeks later sending another “final bill” of a much higher amount.

I am still a customer and expected to be treated like a valued customer. I find Enmax has been negligent in many ways as stated above and needs to review this issue.

NOTICE AND DEMAND TO CEASE AND DESIST

Dear Mr. Ruigrok:

I, Debra-Ann: Laqua, sovereign citizen of the Kingdom on Canada, bring the following to your immediate attention and order you to cease and desist all fraudulent activities related to the EXMAX account #[protected] under the fictitious corporate name, DEBRA LAQUA.

I do not have any affiliation with the corporate entity, DEBRA LAQUA, which appears to relate to a fictitious account you have set up. I AM a sovereign citizen, and have never had any affiliation with such a corporate body. ENMAX, having created this fraudulent account and misrepresenting its authenticity, is perpetrating a blatant act of fraud.

CEASE and DESIST IMMEDIATELY:

1. the sending of billing statements to the above account address

Electricity in Canada was declared to be free to all citizens in the Kingdom of Canada as at September 29, 2021, under Royal Degree #24, by Her Majesty, Queen Romana Didulo, Commander-in-Chief of the Kingdom of Canada.

Your firm has been fraudulently sending me statements and demanding payments under threat of disconnection since Sept. 29, 2021 and for many years earlier under the fictitious corporate name of

DEBRA LAQUA, a fraudulent misrepresentation. As I AM a sovereign citizen, ENMAX has fraudulently created a fictitious corporate entity that I have no knowledge of, nor any affiliation with, if it, in fact, exists at all.

1. trespassing on my property without prior in-person contact, or in-person live telephone conversation.

2. shutting down electricity at the above address without my written authorization.

3. Limiting the amount of an essential service at the above address on August 9, 2022 without prior My written Authorization.

4. Failing to restore full essential service back to the above address by the next business day August 10, 2022.

5. Failing to answer calls Numerous times regarding The essential service for the above address on August 9 and 10, 2022.

6. Preventing the cooking of food and not allowing a/c to function on days with heat warnings issued For the city of Calgary when the above address is on August 9 and 10, 2022.

7. It is now September 20, 2022 and that limiter that prevents cooking of food, and laundry is still on. I have a friend in Alberta that hasn’t paid there utilities in months and gets a credit on there bill yet I have to endure your continued abuse and mistreatment in limiting an essential service for 42 Continuous days.

On Sept. 14, 2021 by Royal Decree #20, Her Majesty Queen Romana Didulo of Canada declared electricity in Canada an “essential service.” As you’re aware, the definition of an essential service is as follows: The Public Service Labour Relations Act defines an essential service as: "a service, facility or activity of the Government of Canada that is or will be, at any time, necessary for the safety or security of the public or a segment of the public."

Since we are currently at war, breaching this decree amounts to treason against the We the People of Canada.

Furthermore, as the supply of electricity in the Kingdom of Canada was declared to be free by decree of Her Majesty, Queen Romana Didulo, Commander-in Chief of the Kingdom of Canada by Royal Decree, I require re-imbursement of all charges paid by me to your firm from September 29, 2021 to the date of the receipt of this letter. The deadline for the receipt by me of this reimbursement is July 10, 2022, by certified cheque.

This includes:

1) ALL charges for the supply of electricity and all related charges, including administration charges (based on Royal Decree #24 — Sept. 29, 2021)

2) ALL charges for the supply of water and all related charges, including administration charges (based on Royal Decree #23 — Sept. 20, 2021)

3) ALL taxes relating to both the supply of electricity and water (based on decree #39 — retroactive to July 1, 1867)

4) ALL administration charges not captured above, and

5) ALL charges relating to the City of Calgary

Water treatment and supply Wastewater collection and treatment Stormwater management

Waste and Recycling

Special Notes

Specifically, regarding the Kingdom of Canada:

Since February 5, 2022, the Kingdom of Canada has been under martial law. If you do not immediately comply with this CEASE and DESIST, order, I will seek remedy through Natural Law Courts, Common Law Courts, and in the case of Crimes Against Humanity, through the International Criminal Courts, who are processing similar crimes against humanity.

Here are some additional pieces of information you should be aware of:

The foreign corporation, CANADA INC (CIK [protected]) went bankrupt in 2018 and ceased to have jurisdiction within the Kingdom of Canada.

Under Royal Decree #38, all utility bill obligations were to be set to ZERO balance as at January 7, 2022.

Admiralty Law has no jurisdiction in the Kingdom of Canada, based upon Royal Decree #79, signed April 21, 2022, retroactive to July 1, 1867) which declares that the BAR has no jurisdiction in the Kingdom of Canada. We are currently under martial law and military tribunals are currently underway.

Fraudulent recent electricity shutdown threat at above account address:

The most recent example was on August 2, 2022. This constitutes a malicious attempt to ruin the lives of citizens and easily falls under the heading of “crimes against humanity,” particularly during wartime. That is a malicious act.

This will serve as your lawful notice to cease and desist all further actions described above, effective immediately.

Govern yourselves accordingly. Signed

debra-Ann: laqua Sovereign Citizen

ENMAX Energy [EEC] Faulty meter readings, Enmax is not responding to my complaint

I am a small business owner having two enmax meters. These meters were replaced in December 2020/January 2021 and one of the meter started working erratically and showing multifold readings versus previous readings. I called couple of times to Enmax to discuss the situation but was not able to understand the customer service explanation. On August 02-2022 I sent email to [protected]@enamax.com with the meter number, account number and meter readings for more than 1-year to show, how it is badly working. Enmax has failed to respond to my complaint. I like

Desired outcome: I like ENMAX Calgary to check the functioning of the meter, replace the meter in case it is faulty and refund me the money which I paid extra for the faulty readings for more than one year.

ENMAX Energy [EEC] Electrical billing after moving out

I owned at [protected] Sage Hill Dr NW Calgary. I changed to Direct Energy in Jan 2022

I sold the condo & moved out Mar21 2022

I was not an Enmax customer so I did not have an online account or access to one. I did not send them new address

The sale on condo was Apr 15 2022, no one was living there til sometime in May

Now they are telling me I have $47xx outstanding from Apr 2 to 20. They did a land title search I still owed.

I have contacted them, I was not a customer, I never received bill. How can a bill be for $47 if no one lived there

Desired outcome: I will not pay bill. Not reasonable.

ENMAX Energy [EEC] Double billing

I moved out of the home I rented in Dec 2021, Dec 13th to be exact. I received my final bill in Feb 2022, for a final meter read $251.09 I paid in full.

The house has since been sitting empty, with some renting issues. Enmax had to do another meter read recently, that should my issue?

I received a cheque from Enmax in early April from Enmax, for $252. Weird, I wasn't expecting that but the letter stated 'based on the final meter read'. I take care of my father and so I decided to put it towards his enmax bill.

Today, April 28th... I get a bill from Enmax for $252, stating final bill. 4 months after I moved out and paid my final bill.

On the phone they advised "I should have never received a refund before my final bill" I have the final bill dated for Feb 2022.

Instead of calling or sending a letter that they had made a mistake by sending the cheque, they bill me. I have spent the $252 and that should be Enmax's concern, not mine. I put it towards another Bill for my parents, I am a caregiver for both my mom and Dad. Enmax can write it off with no negative affect to them.

Desired outcome: Process to disclose to clients when the make a mistake.

ENMAX Energy [EEC] power

I received a 2 month bill on Friday April 1st stating that I owed $3038.77. I had reached out to Enmax long before this wandering why they weren't sending out my bills. I asked them why my power consumption was so high, they couldn't answer me, they suggested that I do a breaker test which I didn't know how and couldn't do by myself. I contacted Fortis, Alberta to come out to me place to try to figure things out. We did a breaker test and came to the conclusion that something is drawing power from my shops and I have to hire an electrician. In the meantime, I will be getting another bill from enmax and it is now $4,173.10. My concern is why did Enmax not contact me with high consumptions that they saw, we could have prevented this, instead they flagged my account and didn't communicate with me at all. This morning I contacted Enmax to make payment arrangements to pay what is outstanding which is still going to be over $1000 for the next 5 months, these are insane payments. I was told that there would be no credits issued and the supervisor Darrel sure knew how to talk alot, but wasn't a very good listener.

Desired outcome: I would like some credits towards this bill

ENMAX Energy [EEC] Monthly Billing Charges - Fixed Income

The doubling of the monthly costs is more than challenging on a senior's fixed income, especially during months when light and electricity is most needed.

Slight increases over the years have been understandable and tolerated but when a monthly utility bill doubles, it is beyond comprehension.

January 2022 statement 307

February 2022 Statement 611

March 2022 Statement 570

April 2022 Statement 560

Yes, delivery costs were higher...but what could possibly change for a home utility bill to double in one month?

Desired outcome: Reduction in monthly billing for senior's...not a budget spread over 12 months, but a preferred rate for those on a fixed income...which might reach beyond seniors and include anyone who is on a fixed income.

ENMAX Energy [EEC] Horrible Online customer service-Ammad

Hello,

My name is Tea Zagorac and I started an online chat with Ammad due to the overcharge on my Enmax bill. As I tried to explain my situation the agent ignored what I have said and ended up disconnecting from the chat still making me pay the overcharge which was over 300$ and my bill was only 80$. There was no implication where I showed aggression nor violence and I have a transcript receipt to prove the entire conversation.

At 11:20pm I am currently sitting in a power outage on October 28, 2018. Sending this correspondence through my phone. As I was entering peak time for my work I lost power. Like some kind of sick joke it's only my block, and when I call in it states there's a scheduled power outage in Ogden until 6am. This is not ok! Where was my notice? I rented an amplifier to record a piece of music for a client tonight, which was the last opportunity for me to do this. Am I supposed to call a lawyer and send Enmax a bill for the incompleted contract that I was hired to fulfill? Seems fair to me. This was a very expensive mistake and I am at a loss as to how this company is able to pull such a stunt without adequately notifying the residents who were scheduled to be affected. $1500 was my invoice for the work, but now that I am unable to finish the agreement my reputation is on the line. So am I supposed to account for damages? What do I do if I am sued? Please provide me with the contact information for the department I am to forward the invoice to.
