Vehicle repairs and shoddy business practice
My husband purchased a 2009 Ford Flex at Drivetime. It ran for 8 months we thought with no problems. In October of 2019, we had to take it to the mechanic of course it was not one the Warranty company wanted us to take it too, but we were not driving the vehicle over 50 miles to where they wanted it nor were we having it towed since they were only going to reimburse us 75 dollars for over a 300 tow. Upon inspection the control module for the fan assembly quit working, that's understandable. But then the next thing found wrong is that the transmission was failing fluid was full but burnt. along with that the control arm boot was torn on the drivers side and the sway bar links on the passenger side needed replaced. That right there should of been dealt with immediately before selling the car. No codes came up when checking the transmission. After month we received car back. Not even a month have we had it we now have to take back for repairs for the same problem.
Over charging
Over charging me way to much 16,000 in interest when the car was only 16,000 to begin with told me that I was buying my car and then turn around and say that I am leasing the car which is not rite I am a hard working man because my credit wasn't that good doesn't mean that I have to pay so much in interest I feel like I'm being taking advantage of
Faulty vehicle
I leased a Chevrolet Equinox in April of 2019. Since day one I've had nothing but issues. I purchased GAAP and drivetime care. Nothing is ever covered. The check engine light came on the very next day of me having the vehicle. I was assured that it was going to be fixed but it never did and now I keep getting it doesn't fall under warranty. I've had these issues since day one it should have fallen under the 30 day warranty. The same issue I'm having with that the vehical is the same one, I've had since the the next day of me taking it home.
Overpriced vehicles and high interest rates.
I purchased a vehicle in 2014 at Druvetime/Bridgecrest. It is now 2019 and I still owe practically the same purchase price. They are ripping off people.with less than perfect credit. The blue book price is not over $12000.00 for 2009. The blue book price is less than $3000.00. I am in debt for a vehicle that is 3 to 4 times of its market value. I have been payng for this car for over 5 years and still owe over $12000..
Please help us.
The gap they offered me and that I signed up for has not paid the total loss of my car.
I bought a car from DriveTime in 2016. I signed up for the gap insurance with Aeverex insurance which was recommended through DriveTime. I recently totaled my car a month ago. My insurance company paid their portion out 2 weeks ago. I recently received a letter from Aeverex stating they are only paying $800.00 out of the $4000.00 that I still owe. I have been given the run around as to why they can't pay the full balance. Isn't gap supposed to fill in the gap after a total loss?! I am very upset. I have 3 children and a full-time job. I have to figure out how to get to work and my children to school every day without vehicle. I am not able to get a car until this balance is paid in full. I do not recommend DriveTime or Aeverex at all.
My car I purchased
I purchased a car through Drivetime and I been having alot of problems with my car. I found out the car sat for 3 months before purchasing, my tires are cracking, my transmission is acting up. Plus the company they financed me through keeps raising my interest rates up. I'm paying $462 a month for a 2013 chevy impala. I feel like I'm being ripped off. When I contact drivetime about the issues. They tell me I need to contact the warranty company and the warranty company just gives me a run around and wont help. Drivetime has one of there managers call me and I get swore at and treated horrible.
Ford taurus
They engaged in loan sharking type lending because even though the interest rate is low like 3-5% they charge 22% which is an extremely high interest rate. They bait desperate people into buying their cars by saying no one is denied and it is smart and genius buying from them. This is factually a lie because after 2 years and 3 months you owe more than the car is worth and the amount financed at the initial sale. They take advantage of desperate people. Your loan is like paying for a mortgage or an interest only loan. You end up paying 3-4 times what a used the car is worth.
Drivetime
Purchased a 2008 gmc envoy from drivetime in little rock arkansas.. I called and confirmed down payment and pricing of the truck and everything before hand. Well we arrived and test drove it and everything seemed fine until we got to dotting them i"s and crossing them t's.. Then magically the price went up almost twice the quoted price.. Long story short we became stuck in this 5 year contract and had to go out and purchase other vehicles cause every time you turn around there was something wrong with this vehicle which put us in a bind cause we had to pay them and for the other cars.. We had to get around so we did what we had to do.. After I called them up and told them that we found out that it needed a transmission all of a sudden my warranty was gone and they started sending applications for extended car warranty that was 200 to $300 dollars a month which I didn't go for by the way.. Long story short the vehicle is sitting in my yard us less and I paid for 2 other cars before I got this one paid for.. I got harassment calls on a daily basis which has led my health to start getting bad.. Its funny to how they called numerous times a day but when I got ready to pay them off I had to call 5 days in a row to talk to someone cause the claimed that they are so busy.. Yeap busy scamming.. My advice to anyone is to stay away.. I wish I would have known what I know now..
Drivetime car dealer selling rigged vehicles without proper inspections and wood in framing of the vehicle.
I have had this car for about a year now. However for the last 3 to 4 months I have not been able to use the vehicle because it isn't mobile. I found out that there is a piece of wood in the framing of the vehicle and that the compressor was propped it up on that piece of the frame. I reached out to dry time and they told me that they were not responsible or assuming responsibility. However I had not had a mechanic with the vehicle and I had not had any mechanical part time aside from a routine oil change At Walmart. The car is still being financed and this has put me in a very very tough situation. My income has suffered my livelihood has suffered immensely. I really need a lawyer who would be willing to represent me in this case because the vehicle is still being financed And it is it drivable. And I truly believe the drive time and you did this vehicle had not been properly inspected before hand.
Engine mounts and carburetor/purchased a lemon
Engine mounts went out immediately, within 2 weeks of purchasing vehicle September 6, 2019. Had to fight insurance company to get fixed. It took until the end of October, twice in the shop. Then the Carburetor went out right after receiving the vehicle from the shop. Not covered under my extended warranty! In the shop 3 times in 2 months. I want to sue them for selling a piece of a lemon! Overpriced Jeep of $18, 000 for 99, 000 on the odometer and 3 years old. Please contact me.
Extended warranty
Before me and my wife purchased a car the guy told us we had the 50, 000 5 year warranty on our coverage for the vehicle we purchased well not even 2 months pass and the engine light comes on. I call to see what they can do to help us fix the issue and they said you are on your own your contract states you only have a 30 day 1, 300 mile warranty. I am in complete shock. I even took a picture of the paper that stated the extended warranty and the guy said yes you are covered for that warranty. Like what? Do they train their employees to lie just to get us to sign the contact and be stuck paying for a beat up old car for 10 times it's worth? This is cruel and unfair.

RE: 2015 Ford C-MAX SE 1FADP5AU5FL107487 Odometer: 83, 184
Purchased: 01/02/2019 Purchased from: Drive-Time Lauderdale Lakes 2300 N. State
Rd. 7 Lauderdale Lakes, FL 33311
On Tuesday, January 29, 2019, I was driving when I heard a pop sound. Immediately, the car started pulling to the left side. Unable to steer or control the vehicle, I was pulled over the curve and into standing foliage. I brought the car to a complete stop. Unable to move the vehicle, I had to have a tow truck pull the car out. At that point I could see that there was a real problem. The days prior to this incident, I was hearing a thumping type of noise while operating the vehicle. This noise became increasingly louder. Also, the front wheels would wobble when I started to drive from a dead stop. It was my plan to take the vehicle for a diagnostic review of the noise and wobbling on the following day.
I had the vehicle towed to McKenzie Auto Center at 4410 N. Federal Hwy. in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. Ph, :954-779-1418 (I have included a copy of the tow truck receipt.) After deliberation with my insurance company, I was informed that they would not be covering the repair of my car. The resolve was due to the fact that my car was still under the 30 DAY WARRENTY, and that Drive-Time/Silver Rock was responsible. After reviewing my policy, I verified that my Drive Time Coverage does in fact cover "Drive axle housing/differential and all internal lubricated parts, Drive shafts, Universal joints, Constant, velocity joints, Wheel/hub bearings". This was not an accident, this was as a result of breaking car equipment. I have learned that the issue is due with the vehicles faulty control arm. This was not discovered by Drive Time, because I have since learned that Drive-Time did not perform a 25 Point Inspection prior to my leaving the car lot. That was confirmed by Mida a Consumer Relations Mananger in Phoenix, Az..
Since the time of the incident, I have spent $250.00 for Lyft Rides in commuting to and from work and medical related appointments. Also, since January 29, 2019, I have not had my vehicle for transportation. My credit rating has dropped over 300 points. I've suffered emotional and physical trauma. And, I was forced to take a Florida Driving Operators Extended Road Test. Also, in order to satisfy the storage fee of the unusable car, the car has a lien placed on it and then sold at auction in September 2019.
I am asking that Drive-Time provide me with the following:
• Satisfy the outstanding loan balance on the vehicle with Bridgecrest Financial.
• Help to restore my credit standing on all 3 credit reporting agencies.
• A free automobile of my choosing from their inventory.
• A complete inspection and/or repair of the vehicle equipment, electrical system, vehicle computer, latches, locks, door locks and a 25 Point Inspection to include Lights/Electrics, Under the Hood, Breaks/Hub, Underside, Wheels/Tires and Tow Bar
• Reimbursement for the tow truck fees associated with this incident
• Reimbursement for the monies spent in hiring a Lyft for transportation
• Compensation for the stress, anxiety and emotional position that I have experienced as a direct result of this incident.
The results of damage to my car IS NOT MY FAULT, it is due to FAULTY CAR EQUIPMENT. I was within the 30 DAY TIME PERIOD, and this qualifies as Drive-Time's responsibility to cover all cost associated with this issue.

I also got a car from drive time. A 2007 Camry and I had to pay $470 a month and that car was only worth $2, 000. I had to leave the United States because I got orders to Japan and they said that I would still have to pay on it even though I no longer wanted or needed it. Drive time really scammed me because my credit wasn't the greatest at the time and even after having the car for 3 years my credit didn't rise that much even though I paid on time. I would like to be added to the lawsuit.
lemon car
3 days after purchasing the car I found out it had a bad cv axle and 4 days after purchase the Cadillac converter went bad. I also found out the back breaks are completely bad. Once the shop fixed it and took it for a test drive the battery light came on and it turns out my alternator is also bad. This is unacceptable, especially the breaks because I had my two young children with me when I purchased the car and they knew they would be in the car. The company will not approve for the car to get a bumper to bumper inspection even though it's already having all of these problems. This company is the worst
drivetime cars/telecommunications harassment
Too much information to provide, I have a 2013 Fusion with defects that cannot even be fixed by Ford, DriveTime will not fix or replace the vehicle, I'm trying to get out from under this loan, DriveTime will not let me
Even after telling them for the past three weeks to come get the vehicle, they will not take the vehicle and keep calling me for my payments, I stopped paying about a month ago when the vehicle stopped running
I can provide all documentation, I am very busy with employment/ family issues/ and designing possible Medical Technology breakthroughs...
I don't have the time for a Buy Here Pay Here lot to keep getting in the way
Television Commercials
The Drivetime commercials that are currently running on television, are way too loud ... especially the one with the black woman in the green attire that appears to be the spokesperson. When the commercial comes on, the sound on the commercials is always way too loud and that woman's voice is very, very loud and very grating. Please dump those commercials.
credit report is incorrect
My name is Mrs. Ortiz, and my complaint is against Drive Time and the financial Company they use BRIDGECREST.. they have put on my credit report a charge off for a truck that was up for repo around February of 2019, but I paid them before it was picked up and I'm still in possession of the truck and making my monthly payments...because my credit report reads charge off, this has stopped me from getting a car from any other car lot.. and they are refusing to take the charge off off my credit report. I have spoken with BRIDGECREST MANY TIME ON THIS ISSUE AND THEY REFUSE TO CHANGE THE REPORT..

I have had my SUV for more than 2 yrs when I purchased the car drive time it had a flat tire minor but should of been a red flag since I had the car things have been wrong with it . The SUV had more than one owner as well so I feel like I was over charged for the car I fell behind in the payments trying to keep up the maintenance on the car. It finally got where I couldn't do both I was at the Walmart aking a payment didn't realize they was out repossession the SUV. I was trying to do both pay on car an service the car. So I call them an they said they had the car an I had to pay 2, 000 to get her back I was struggling trying to keep it running. I then they sail the car for 2200 an tele that was fair market value. But I owe them 15, 0000 dollars more the car would of been paid for in 2023 I think they overcharged ffg or the car an the cars an SUV needs work before sailing
my car
So I bought a car from drive time in 2015. Since then it has been in the shop 5 times. The first time was a few months after we got the car. The most recent one was a week ago. So we got a call from our mechanic today saying they put a chip in your car that if you dont make the payments the shut the car down. I filed bankruptcy about 4 years ago the car is in my bankruptcy. There is not a payment that has been missed. I have to pay for another tow truck to have it transported from my mechanic to a ford dealership to have them fix the chip. Drive time is a scam. In between it was transmission issues, electrical issues and so forth. They sale lemons and have no problem doing it
car was in the shop the first three weeks after I purchased
I purchased a 2015 Lincoln MKC from DriveTime in Owings Mills Maryland. The second day I had the vehicle I noticed a clicking sound. I called the location where I purchased the vehicle and they told me to take it to a deale and there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak to the salesman that sold me the car, I was told he was not available. I took the vehicle to Bob Davidson Ford in Towson Maryland. They look at the vehicle and told me I needed need struts and a number of things. I was in tears. DriveTime was not taking back the vehicle because it had been over the allotted time . I think 72 hrs. The assistant for repairs at the dealership felt so sorry for me and could not believe they sold the vehicle to me in this condition. She put me in a nice rental while my car was being repaired for approximately 3 weeks at no additional charge. I thank God everything was covered. I should have known something was wrong when the horn didn't work the day of my test drive. I thought everything was okay because they repaired the horn and call me back in for test drive 2 Days Later. I was happy when I received the car because this was a car that had everything I was looking for. And they shipped it from Washington free of charge.
I'm really disappointed with the way DriveTime handled everything.
