This dog was advertised as a "show quality dog" according to the breeder, Nancy Thomas-Price. We sent the $600 deposit to the breeder and made arrangements to pick up the puppy. The day we went down to her kennel to pick him up I noticed that he walked like a "duck" and that his elbows were rubbing together when he walked. This was mentioned to the breeder who stated this was "normal angulation for a puppy his age" and that her veterinarian stated he had "perfect gait." The day after we picked him up we brought him to a local veterinarian who commented on how "terrible his hips are" and recommended brining him to an orthopedic puppy specialist. When we contacted the breeder about this she became very defensive and told us that we had to have our vet write and sign an affidavit stating that the dog had "terrible hips" as "my vet says he is in perfect condition.". She was informed that we were going to bring him to an orthopedic veterinarian to have him checked out. This vet confined that the dog had specific signs alluding to hip dysplasia and when we contacted the breeder for a full refund she refused and said that we would receive a refund only after she had "resold" the puppy. We mentioned that we did not believe is was ethical for her to resell a dog with defects, of which she stated her veterinarian said his gait was "perfect without defects" and refused to accept what our vets said. She again demanded a signed affidavit from both vets stating their findings, of which neither could believe her demands. She has continued to refuse to accept or acknowledge that this dog has defective hips, although she does admit that he has a non-distended testicle and umbilical hernia. She is still has this dog listed under "for sale" on her website (www.zederkamme.com). She has threatened to sue us if we state anything negative to any other person as it would defame her name and reputation. Any reasonable attempts to rectify this situation is met with resistance and anger.

Notwithstanding any previous posting concerning Nancy Thomas Price, Cedar Crest K9 Academy, or Zeder Kamme German Shepherd, we are retracting these posts, and have resolved any difference with Ms. Price or her businesses to our satisfaction.

I take concerns about my dogs very seriously and am sorry you’ve had a bad experience. Neither of these dogs were found to have poor hips. The first dog was never returned to me, no evidence was provided to back up the claim. A diagnosis of hip dysplasia is not made by watching a dog walk.
Gaub, I was glad to have your dog returned to me so that I could do a full and complete medical evaluation of your claims. Nine X-rays show the pup has good hips as reported by the orthopedic foundation of America, normal elbows(OFA) and normal spine. (Radiology specialty report). Gaub, I would have expected you to be happy that in fact your pup does not have any of the issues you claim, as you said you really cared about this puppy. Instead you’ve become very angry that he is in fact healthy, and have lashed out at me! You told me that you did not want the expense of the evaluation. I was more than willing to do that. I bred a healthy dog and have been 100% honest through the entire process.
You also shared that you often kept the puppy in a crate because he was biting you. That could have had an impact on his development.
I am glad that I was able to get this pup back at less than 4 months old, so that he could have a normal life and committed family. He is a beautiful soul.

THIS EXACT THING HAPPENED TO US (ALMOST WORD FOR WORD)! This woman is a bad breeder and likes to intimidate buyers that don't accept her pathetic excuses for poor quality dogs! I cannot believe how eerily similar your experience has been to ours! Dated 8/1/21.

That is NOT what I said! You’re lying about that. You lied to us about your guarantee. You literally said that “if my dogs aren’t for you, then I will give you your money back.” The puppy was ONLY crated at bedtime. Period. His crate was always open and sometimes he would let himself in and nap there. He absolutely did NOT spend excessive time in his crate. You do not know what you are talking about. Your insinuations that we are bad people or inexperienced owners are simply not true. You can engage in the Logical Fallacy of Appeal to Emotion all you want, but we have consulted numerous other experts and breeders and every single one of them agreed that our experience with the puppy you sold us is NOT normal and we were right to return to you. They are also shocked that you’ve conducted yourself in the manner that you have and that you have made zero attempt to make this right for us. The more research I do on you, the more I discover that this isn’t the first time you’ve done this. And if you’re “glad” to have the dog back, why are you whining about all of the money that you have spent on him? You cannot have it both ways. I am not at all all unhappy that you think he’s healthy. I hope he really is. But it’s clear in your defensiveness that you feel the need to put words in my mouth.
