Lottery Scam - winner of "promo"
Complaint Rating: 0 % with 0 votes
Company information:
World Courier Delivery Service, UK
United Kingdom

I have received notification similar to one I have just read
in your complaints - except mine says I have won l mil in
Great Britain pounds, from a drawing of 29million +email
addresses, funded by Microsoft (thanks to Bill Gates at the
bottom of first letter) - I am one of 20 winners, and instructions are to identify myself to a Dr. Bryan Howard
at the Online Board - then after my verification has been
completed (I actually did these steps to see how far it would
go) - it went to World Courier Delivery Service, who then
issued the demand for the insurance, courier services, etc.
to be paid to them so delivery could be made to me here
in California at my residence address. The amount totals
465GBP - about $975. I have not been asked for social
security number, or bank account number, etc.- I would
have stopped at that point, had they done that.
I answered their email with questions about the sum, and
stated that unsolicited monies awarded as a lottery or
sweepstakes should not require money from the winner -
& asked if US dollars would be acceptable.
I now have a further answer email from World Courier
Delivery Service in London, UK, signed by a Roy Mason,
Customer Services, and this letter even includes a picture
of this person- and I am being informed if I do not follow
their instructions and deliver the fees as requested, I am
required to send them a disclaimer letter relinquishing mywinning and empowering them with the rights to recall
my payment.
I have spoken to a local police officer and to the well-informed
technician who services my computer, and they emphatically insist it's all a scam- which is my feeling
also. I have gone through their steps to see how it all develops
and what they would tell me if I didn't send their money.
I asked them to deduct the fees ($975) from my "check"
prior to sending, but they did not respond to that request

If there is any other information I can send you, which would
be helpful to you in stopping this international group of
thieves, I would be glad to do so. Please contact me at my
email address.
