If you can avoid XM Radio- do it. find something online, find something streaming, find something anywhere but these idiots. They promise a hassle free process that is the worst ever. They can't merge accounts if you change your vehicle, they can't pre-pay if you have a trial for your car and then want to use the credit you have from your old vehicle. They then turn you off without notice for payments that aren't even due. XM should quit investing in advertising and focus on their internal systems and training. Find some people in the USA to provide service support and get systems that work in your billing department. You would then retain enough people to be a successful company. As of now, I will make sure when my credit is up that no dollar ever goes to XM Again. By far the worst customer service and billing department in the history of US business. Avoid them... And Sirius is the same crummy company now, so that is not an option either...

I was overcharged by XM radio on July 14th. They stated over and over, after me verifying that they were only going to take $27 out of my account. The next day they had taken $121. I have called 3 times, always being assured my money would be returned...it has been two weeks and still no refund. Also, by taking so much, they overdrew my account causing me fees.

Same story. I called to get a subscription when I got the new car. After the year was up, I did not renew. I had a new credit card, so they couldn't charge me without my knowledge or permission, fortunately. They sent the account to CCA, their collection agency. Hopefully the State of Florida has a procedure to file a complaint. From what I've read all over the Internet, there is no point in making further calls t them. I probably would have purchased a subscription to their service in the future, but after this experience, it will be a cold day in hell before I deal with them again.

I initially cancelled my XM subscription in March 2009. On August 17th, I received a letter from their collections department. When I spoke to Patrick he said there is no way they are going to drop the charge even though the record show I cancelled.

My husband and I have been on the phone for hours trying to get help. I've already been hung up on twice when I said I want to get the charge waived. I understand from what I've read on the internet that this is a very common occurance. People will get frustrated and pay the bill, try to cancel and get billed again. It's a scam and XM is ethically bereft.

I have been a fan of xm radio for 2 years now and this year i sold the car with the xm reciever in it. The xm radio had be pre paid for 1 year. After that year expired the xmradio reps began calling for renewl and i told them i did not want to renew. Sure enough i am now getting calls from a collection agency saying i owe them 48 bucks because they kept the radio on for another month as a grace period. They said i had to specifilly call and ask for it to be turned off to avoid this charge. Im furious. This company is ripping me off. From what i've read they are doing this to a lot of people and we need to get together and form a class action case or something. I pre paid for 1 year. Then they keep it on and charge me but send the bill straight to collections. I was told it was in the terms of service that is posted online. Who reads the 8 sections of fine print. I didnt sign anything. I didnt even order it online. This is a joke. Im never going to be an xm customer again. Very bad buisness practices. Dirtbags.

The first complaint is when I received an unauthorized bill from them for over $500.00. I called and they stated that I authorize this one time charge for satellite until the lifetime of the car. When I told them that I NEVER told them to do this, they told me that my husband obviously authorized it. I proceed to tell that my husband has his own car and he doesn't drive my car, so why would he call XM satellite for services? After talking to 3 different departments and my blood pressure being up, they took the charge off.

Secondly, they called me persistently and consistently telling me that they had a trial offer for me for 3 months. I agreed to the charge, they billed me and I paid. Shortly, afterwards, I purchased a new car and with the new car purchased, I got a trial XM period. I called XM to transfer my services and they told me that I would still get the trial offer with my new car, and the services that were paid for would be transferred to the new vehicle after the trial offer was over. When my trial offer was over for the new car, they turned my services off. I called in regards to my services that should have been transferred and after talking to 3 different departments, they finally agreed to turn my services back on in Dec. After talking to the last rep, who told me I should have services until March, I received a phone called consistently everyday at home and work regarding signing up for a 6month-1 year contract. I repeatedly told each rep that I currently had services and that I wasn't interested. When I spoke to the last rep, who called my job, she told me that she didn't have the information from the other 5 calls and that I needed to call another dept to get them to stop calling my job. I had asked her 5 times to take my work number off her list. And this is the only reason I stopped getting phone calls from them.

Lastly, I just received another unauthorized bill from XM again today for the same services I've paid for. Long story short, I'm so tired of debating with them, I told them to turn my services off and $0 the balance out and I will never use them again. Finally after 5 mins Elizabeth agreed to reverse all but one month charge. That one month was the month that I had already paid for. Finally she reluctantly, agreed to $0 the balance out after I almost had an aneurism.

There really needs to be a class action suit against these guys. Their billing is terrible. They need to revamp the whole rpocess. I had the service at a bargain rate when I purchased a new car - I renewed as a discounted rate and then when it came time to renew again, they hit me with a triple the price fee. Since they had my cc #, they just automatically tacked it on and there I was - with a big fee!

I would be happy to get in on a class action suit.

We have had XM Radio for several years, 1 car and a potable unit. I paid to continue service through 12/31/10 on both radios. We sold one car in February and forgot to cancel. Big mistake! Received bill for continued service in Dec 2010, ignored because we no longer used portable unit and didn't have service in the new car. I called and canceled service on 1/6/2011. Then the calls started, sometimes 10 A DAY! Then calls from a collection agency! Called XM and they said we owed $28.32! After being transferred around and no answers (they would not tell me line by line what the charges were for), I finally gave up and just paid! I had already wasted too much time and my blood pressure was sky high. The next day I received 2 more calls from the collection agency and a letter! Must be some service to charge $28.32 for 5 days service! This company is a rip-off! I will NEVER subscribe with them again and I hope this post will help others! XM Radio is the WORST company I've EVER dealt with! Please tell everyone you know about this rip-off company!

Just before my 3 month subscription expired I got 3 calls in one day to renew. Every time I said NO>.

2 months later I started getting overdue bills and threats to shut off my radio service. Fine shut it off, that's what I wanted in the first place. Needless to say the bills and threats kept coming.

I called twice and go no results.

Then I e-mailed the better business bureau. It took about a month but they finally put me in touch with someone that would listen and could do something. 3 days later my account was zeroed and canceled.

Thanks BBB!

I have been charged for a car that I traded in 2006. The pulled money from my account in 07, 09 and 2011 - I caught the 2011 withdraw and called immediately. I was told I would be refunded for the 301.32 dollars taken from my account in 2011. However to get a refund for the other charges I need to talk to corporate. They provided me an email and so far I have had conversations with 3 different people. All of which have asked me for my radio id. I keep telling them that I do not have an account with them so I cannot provide a radio id. I read that there is a class action suit in the works. I hope I get contacted.

Purchased a new Toyota Rav 4 in 2009. XM service came with it for 3 months. Afterward contacted XM to subscribe to service over the phone. They gave me a rate of $85 for a year. Shortly thereafter I purchased another unit and installed it in my pickup. XM gave me same price. After 13 months they disconnected service on our Rav 4. I called and they said my account was overdue.
I had not received any bills, calls, emails prior to this. They say they have too many customers to send bills to or any other type of notification. I requested cancellation on both of my vehicles and a confirmation of cancellation sent to me.
No confirmation received. I called today. My accounts were not closed and they were still adding additional charges to my account.
I requested cancellation AGAIN and have it post dated to my original request. They said they couldn't do that. I said to cancel me anyways. They then tried to offer me deals. First at $85.00 for first radio and $60 for second radio. I asked if they would keep that rate as permanent and send me a bill... they said NO. Unacceptable.
I said NO. They then said they will send me to collections.

If you have a phone or other device that can get the free internet streaming music like Rhapsody then I suggest using that.

XM has awful customer appreciation. They are nice until they get your money.

In follow up.

After 9 emails back and forth someone finally saw the light and my side of the story. They said they would renew my contract for 3 months but not for the XM everything but for XM mostly music. While it still ticks us off, we only used the channels on XM mostly music. When this 3 months expires, XM can shove it where the sun don't shine.

This is in line with I've seen. Our one year trial ended and we sent in payment along with a renewal form for 3 month renewal. The form was very clear stating $24.18 for 3 months. After renewal we got a billing for invoice fees plus royality fees totaling $12.50. Needless to say e-mail is a waste of time. They either ignore you or will tell you they have a fee arrangement that even though it wasn't disclosed to us on the renewal form can be charged.

XM/Sirus can stick it!

i just phoned xm abut a bill i received 20 days after i cancelled. The rep agreed upon the final amount of $4.99. my statement indicated $12.61. I called and asked what was the reason of difference of the areed amt thean the billing amt 20 days after. One rep kept me on the phone on hold util she could find out . When she finally came back, all of a sudden the phone disconnected. Of course i have to call back and start all over again. The first rep did agreee on my summary of cancellation of $4.99. and tranferred me to a supervisor, in wich i never spoke to ( on hold) . the second rep by the name of PAGE gave me the run around and i asked her to read the summary of report of cancellation of 4-5-2010 and sdhe claimed she just had in her notes cancellation 4-5-2010. I just talked to a rep that read something entire different. She claimed that the $4.99 was and offer to stay with xm. Why would you offer me $4.99 when i have called previously to cancel? XM SATELLITE RADIO IF FULL OF IT. I WOULD N E V E R SUBSCRIBE, NOR RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT PAY WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD!
YOU WILL NEVER GET RID OF THEM!

I wish I would of read this sooner than later. I bought XM Everything for 83.00 last year...first time new customer. This year on renewal it was 160.00 for less channels. On a refund to my card they were uncertin how much would be credited. I remained a customer due to I did not want to pay 50 or 60 dollars for 10 days of service. I will not renew next year unless this is resolved.

i'm having a billing problem with XM myself...they are taking 45 bucks a month out for one unit that is supposed to be 12.99/monthly service...WTF...can't get a good answer from anyone there, they "apologize for the inconvenience" but they're not sure why so much is being taken out? but if it was a refusal to pay on my end, or a late payment, don't you think they would be crawling right up my a** to rectify it? geez!
