At presentation stage the most wonderful benefits are shown on how much you can save when becoming members of World travel international South Africa. After paying +/- R11500.00 to become members for 30 years with an annual administration fee of R750.00 we could not wait to make use of all the specials and discounts presented to us. After getting 3 quotations from WTISA it was found that what they promise is not what you get. Even with the so-called promised discounts included the quotes obtain is more expensive than what you can get at any other travel agency. This is a scam and we have paid R11500.00 for empty promises. On enquiring this they just said that they are within the law and that you did sign a contract. To speak with the customer service manager or to get a reply from him where he also look at the customers side and not only their companies side is not existing.
People who wants to join this club please be warned that you are going to loose money. Also see "hellopeter" site on the internet for similar complaints against this Travel Agency.

Boophilus - how did you manage to get out of the yearly fee? We have been members since 2010 - what a waste of money!

I was conned into signing an agreement with this company some years ago. Cost me R10000. When one tries to make specific bookings through them, their deals are always more expensive than alternative options. What a job I had to cancel the contract - not that I got my money back but I would not have to pay the yearly fee.
Many websites like Hello Peter.com have very negative comments about this company. Several pensioners have been caught.
I wish Carte Blanche would follow up on this company and expose them for what they are.

Absolutely agree that they are USELESS and a SCAM! Have tried to cancel contract a number of times due to the fact that they service they proclaimed to offer is not what they provide one with. Cannot understand that we don't see a single response from the Complaints Board in this forum. IS THE COMPLAINTS BOARD TAKING ANY NOTICE WHATSOEVER OF THESE COMPLAINTS?!

I have been a member since 2006 and still have to get any satisfaction - no updates - no emails - membership no RB06070702WT - Cost R9000. When we tried to book a holiday it turned out to be just as expensive as any other booking agent and were never able to actually get a booking anywhere. Just a money making racket I wish I could get my money back but that is just wishful thinking. It has proved to be a perfect scam to lift money from older people without any shame.

I have been a member for 7 years but never used their services. Now that I want to cancel the contract I am having problems getting my subscription fee back. Avoid this organization.

Can confirm, had same experience, they pretend verbally that the 5 day cool-off period applies, but it is not in the contract. They use delaying tactics to get you access to try the system by claiming they need 2 weeks to process your membership. No response from service department ( except welcome call ), I am still looking for confirmation that the consumer protection act applies, because it was a direct selling approach and the business premises seem to be a rented hotel meeting room. And most important, the product offered can not be tested or compared against other internet based accommodation or holiday search engines. ( which are free )
Also food and beauty vouchers ( free gifts ) with face value of R 6000 of each type actually cost you money because you have to spend typically R 400 on a meal to get R 100 discount and in our case we would have to go from Randburg to Springs to find a participating food outlet for most of the vouchers. Very slick presentation, high pressure deal, sign now and you get 50 % discount of membership fee, etc. then followed up with a totally one-sided contract with about 20 clauses saying whatever the sales pitch was, may not be exactly true, because the discounts depend on the service provider, not on us, etc etc
