Woolworths Surfers Paradise Circle Store review: Bad treatment from staff

I went into the store this evening. As we (my wife and I) was checking out through the self check out facility, the staff who looks after that section made a terrible noise just beside us. It gave us a terrible shock and when we turned to the noise, the staff looked at us with a smile. As we were getting out of the store I said to the staff, "that was not funny you know." She replied "I didn't say it was funny, the metal bin just slipped out of my hand." It was as if her mistake was justified because it was an accident.
I thought a simple "I am sorry" would have gone a long way to allow us to have an enjoyable evening.
I hope customer service would improve one day in Australia. It just lacks behind all the other countries overseas. We may like to call ourselves as developed country but our service industry is still under a lot of 3rd undeveloped country.
I will just keep my fingers crossed hoping it will improve.
