Woman Within Unauthorized Charges

Dear Sirs,
I sent an item back for a refund, and they issued me the refund and THEN charged my debit card on file for an additional payment (the same item, different color). They used my card number without my permission and I only noticed the charge posted to my debit card account 3 days AFTER the item I never ordered in different color was mailed to me. Please, never leave your debit card information on file with them, they can do whatever they want with it.

I received coupons in the mail as a thank you for shopping with Woman Within, redeemable for various types of merchandise including magazine subscriptions. After scanning them carefully for hidden shipping or handling charges, I sent them off to be redeemed, only to find my Amex was charged $159 for the merchandise and a small fee for one of the magazines. Woman Within, of course, has my Amex on file. I too was tricked, for the second time, into joining their Reservation Rewards; it was impossible to leave their website without joining, so I shut the site down only to find my Amex was again charged, this time $10. I had all the charges removed by American Express, but be warned: don't fall for any offers of "free" merchandise from this company. So far they have not responded to my complaints. Too bad, because I've always been happy with the quality, fit, and price of their clothing as well as their prompt shipping, but I refuse to shop with them again until I get an apology for this blatant scam.

Two things. I was sent a number of thank-you coupons for "free merchandise" including magazine subscriptions for shopping at Woman Within. I sent them off to be redeemed after scanning all the fine print to make sure there were no hidden shipping or handling charges. Then my Amex (which Woman Within has on file) was charged $159 for the merchandise pluse a small fee for one of the magazines. Also, I too was tricked into joining Reservation Rewards when it was impossible to leave the Woman Within website after ordering merchandise, and somehow when I shut down the site it registered me and charged $10. I had the charges removed by Amex and tried to contact the company with no luck. I've been happy with the clothing I've ordered from them in terms of quality, fit, price, and promptness in shipping, but these accessory scams have got to stop. Be careful if you get any free offers from them.

I purchased a swimsuit for $97 which included a standard shipping fee of $11.99.It was too large and needed to be returned. I did not receive a return label.and waited 10 days for that label. I received credit for $76 becuse they charged an additional shipping fee and did not refund the sales tax.Iam totally not satisfied and will not order from them again .

ALL you gotta do is READ the web site ...it says right on it what you're agreeing to by clicking to get the 10.00 coupon. It's not hidden. I by pass it every time I order because I got bit once . Dont blame them because YOU didnt finish reading

I agree. This happened to my mother. She did not know about the charges until months later. They were charging her $11.99 a month for the past three months.

Woman Within Cancelled Orders

I've never had any billing problems with this company, thankfully. However, nine times out of ten when I order an item, I get a notice a few days later that it is on back-order, with an estimated date of delivery, usually a few months in the future. Then, a week before it is due to be shipped, they send a notice that it has been cancelled because they no longer have the item. This is a company that has been in business for years. They should know the market by now. If the buyer cannot guess what product will be popular, based on past demand, then a new one needs to be hired. If their supplier consistently fails to fill their orders, then get a new supplier. This is not a one-time occurrence. It has been going on now for at least two years. If you are a tall or plus size, try some of the other companies.

Woman Within CUSTOMER SERVICE

I have ordered from this company several times and each time there has been a problem. You will place and order with them and unlike the other companies, if the item is not available for shipping - they will not tell you. They will say it is in stock when it is not...and you will have to wait weeks for the item to be shipped. I ordered a skirt in a size 18 and they sent me a 20, telling me that an 18 was unavailable.! I recently ordered (2) pairs of jeans in a size 20 - both which they said were in stock. I received one pair with a email telling me the other pair was back ordered and would not ship for another month. When I received the first pair - they were too large so I contacted the customer service department and asked if they could send the back ordered pair in a size 18. They assured me they would - but of course they lied and when I finally got the second pair it was a size 20!

Woman Within excessive charges

I warn anyone who is considering doing business with this company... DON'T! The clothing I ordered was made very poorly and I returned 95% of the order. I asked to have three items replaced with ones of the correct size. First I had to pay shipping to get the orders to me...then I had to pay shipping to return the items...and then they wanted to charge me shipping to receive the exchanges! On top of that one of the exchanges was not even the right item! At the end of my nightmare I have one pair of pants that originally cost $13.99 [the sale price --- they tried to charge me full price for the pants and I had to point out to them that I got them on sale] and a jacket that cost $3.99 for a total of $17.98 worth of merchandise. But the total they reported to my Woman Within credit card has amounted to $36.46! I called to ask why and was told to speak with the credit card issuer - that everything returned was reported as a credit. I asked about the cancellations I made that did not show in the transactions and was told again to speak with the credit card issuer. The issuer can only charge me what is reported to them. I will wear my pants and jacket but I have also told my story to three of my friends who considered ordering. They immediately changed thier minds.

Items bought by mom for me for Christmas were too large. I placed return as instructed, asked for smaller size, sent two gift cards and check for other items ordered in addition to return. Wait more than 4 weeks for items then start emailing. They just return several email responses not addressing concerns. Finally I call and get run around on how they handled request, tell me I can use what they know are the unredeemed gift cards without a pin which was never given to purchaser. Now they have returned goods and $30.00 in gift cards I can't use.

I received an item that was much too large 'though I measured carefully. I did not receive a return label and waited 10 days for that label.I paid $97.13 for the swimsuit and was credited $76 .Woman within charged an additional shipping fee of $7.50 and did not refund the sales tax. I
am not satisfied with the customer service and will not deal with them again.

Woman Within Beware - this site is a rip off

BEWARE -- this site is a rip off ! I ordered five items from them in April. The items did not fit and when I returned them, I was charged a $6.50 fee plus they did not refund the cost of the shipping -- a total of $15.49 -- for NOTHING! Then I noticed that there were charges on my credit card during the months of May and June ($12 each time). WomanWithin had given my credit card information to "Shopper Discount" and they were charging me a monthly fee! Fortunately, I caught it and I have gotten them to refund the charges, but now I wonder who else they gave my information to! After all that, I found three of the items at a local store and the prices were at least 20% cheaper than the prices online!

I attempted to purchase a pair of shoes; however, the price that showed up in the shopping cart was $10 higher than the posted price. I tried to contact the company by replying to one of their emails but it bounced. I then tried to contact using their contact form. I'm a web developer so am not a web page dunce. With all fields filled out correctly, regardless of what I tried, their form would not submit. Apparently, they want your money but they don't want customer contact or to be held accountable for their web content. Internet shopping is highly competitive. Buy elsewhere.

I ordered a swimsuit from WomanWithin in Feb 2011. They sent the wrong item. I returned it immediately with the correct code for "wrong item". Almost a month later, they still did not credit my card so I called them and now they say they will credit my card less the shipping so I will be paying for their mistake. Don't order anything from this company! They are dishonest!

Website said that my items would ship in 5-7 days. They didn't ship for almost 3 weeks! And they were all in stock! Sizing was waaaaay off! Nothing fit right! My refund took several weeks and of course they charged me to return the items. I'm so glad I payed for shipping, both ways, for nothing!

Woman Within late delivery

I called my order in on 11-07-10. They had problem with my credit card at first, but she told me it finally went thru to processing. I told her if she had a problem with it to call the next day and I would give her another card no. I didn't hear from her so I called back to check on the order and the man said it went thru and it would be to me by tues. I did not get it so I called back wed. to find out why and they said that my card didn't go thru until wed morning. I have to have those clothes no later then Thurs. afternoon. My daughter is getting on an airplane and she needs her things. When I tried to talk to a manager it was like pulling teeth to get one on the phone. I don't feel I should be charged for fast delivery when it wasn't. I also feel that when someone calls to check on a order it should be handled correctly. Now I have to pay again to have the clothes shipped to my daughter in washington
I do not feel that is fair.

Woman Within misuse of credit card

I had purchased items from this site a couple of time. When I made my most recent purchase, my credit card number appeared on its own. I do not normally leave my credit card number on site, but thought maybe I had made a mistake. After completing the purchase, I went to my account page on Woman Within and accessed personal information with the intent of deleting the card number. No credit information was listed on my account page.
I called customer support and was told it was not possible that my number would appear if I did not type it in and tell the site to save it. The person did not know why my credit information did not appear on my account page. I obtained a phone number for what the person said was tech support, but what turned out to be the real customer support (I had been talking to a sales person, according to the new person). (I have all the names, but don't want to publish them because I believe it is the company's fault if its employees are poorly trained.)
The new person also told me that what I was experiencing is impossible. Got the same unhelpful answers and was told that she was not customer service either, that they are closed on Sundays. She said I would need to call tech support. I asked for that number. She said she did not have it, but she did have the customer service number. While providing that, she discovered she did have tech support number.
I called tech support Monday and was told it was not possible that my number would pop up unless I typed it in and told the site to save it. Then I asked if that were case, why didn't my credit information appear on my account page. The reason is because my computer, without my knowing it, has an automatic fill-in feature that fills in that information. Somehow, this software picks up my number from a previous typing and saves and then uses it for my convenience. I said if that were the case then that credit card number would pop up every time I shopped online. I could not believe anyone in a technical support job could be so stupid.
This site has a number of sister sites that presumably would also have access to my credit card number. I called the credit card company, but all they could do was to cancel the purchase and/or issue me a new number.
If you care about your credit security, don't buy here or at any of the sister sites: OneStopPlus, Roaman's, Jessica London, BylaneHome, avenue, KingSize, Bargain Catalog Outlet.

I ordered and returned items which were very inferior and was told I wouldn't be charged any shipping charges. Then my credit card statement shows they didn't credit me the last shipping charge as they had promised. After speaking with 7 different people in various departments who all said they didn't "have the authority to clear up any shipping charges" which now also includes a late charge on the shipping charge ! I will never in my lifetime deal with any of the affiliated companies and have closed my credit card. They informed me I could write a letter of dispute for the $2.00 late charge - I told her that wouldn't happen - I've had enough of these inefficient people.
I would suggest to anyone dealing with or contemplating dealing with these companies to be aware - BE VERY AWARE !

I ordered 3 items from the Woman Within Catalogue. One was backordered and I returned the other 2 as they didn't fit. I had to pay shipping and handling to send them their merchandise back to them . I was charged for this order even though I had a proof of delivery from the Post Office that they were returned. I then started to accunulate late fees and interest on these items in spite of calling them and telling then they were returned with proof of delivery. Then they started to charge me for the back ordered item wihich they claimed they delivered months after the order was placed. I was hospitalized at that time so they may have left the merchadise on my step but I told them I never saw it when I got home from the hospital. More late fees hit the account with interest on those late fees. I finally just paid the whole thing off- alomost $90 DOLLARS JUST TO GET RID OF THEM AND TOLD THEM TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT IN WRITING AND OVER THE PHONE AS WELL.I.LL SEE WHETHER THIS FINALLY CLOSES THE ACCOUNT.VERY BAD PEOPLE.

Interesting. I am having the opposite problem. My credit card, billing address and shipping address were all saved on the website. I placed an order. I checked to make sure before I clicked on "submit order" and all was correct. Five minutes later, I received a confirmation email with the wrong name on the credit card and the wrong shipping address. I checked my account online and everything in my account had been changed. I tried to fix it and it wouldn't let me. So I immediately responded to the confirmation email by cancelling the order. Yesterday, I looked at my credit card bill online and they charged my card! I called customer service and they told me that they never received my cancellation. Now they are claiming that the package is on it's way to the wrong shipping address and that someone at the shipping address should refuse the package so it is returned to them and then they'll issue a credit to my card. This happened on the Jessica London website. I placed another order on the Woman Within website well over 12 days ago. All the info is correct but when I check the tracking number on FedEx, it shows that the package has been in transit between Orlando and Miami for six days! Really? That is totally ridiculous. I am never ever shopping on their websites again.

Woman Within charging for a BO

When you order something on back order they still charge your credit card as of the day of the order. I don't think you should get charged for that item until they have the product and are ready to send it to you.
I have also had trouble with getting qouted one S&H charge and then product is sent from a couple of different warehouses and they incurred more S&H then expected because there was more than one package. But that
shouldn't be the customers fault they can't send it all in one package. We shouldn't then get charged more S&H charge.

Woman Within Scam

My email to them: I tried to place an order online and ran into several problems: 1. It wouldn't accept the discount code I received via email (LB7784) for an additional 15% off my order. 2. The coupon code it gave me online, for 30% off the highest priced item, was applied against the wrong item. 3. A free item, [protected], was charged to me and that is the item that received the discount. Two customer service agents were unable to help--one put me on hold and lost me and the second transferred me to the internet department, where the agent was rude after not explaining himself correctly. (He told me I would receive a "credit" after my order shipped, which implies money I'd have to spend at Woman Within, instead of a "credit or refund *on my card*, " which is a very different thing. He was curt and rude.) No one was able to fix the problem and it has essentially been left for me to deal with, with yet another person on yet another call, when I finally receive my order. I understand you're going through a name change, but the problems I've encountered on this order make me think twice about ordering with you in the future. Sincerely, Michelle Ramos

Sandi, Thank you for your quick response. The watch bracelet doesn't have a promo code--it is listed as free item with each purchase. If it is free, why does it show up with a charge? I want to use the 15% off total purchase code. If there is absolutely no way to get the free bracelet, please remove it from the order entirely. I don't want to pay for something that should be free and then get reimbursed for it on the back end. I'm running around in circles here. This is getting ridiculous and I shouldn't have to explain my situation again and again with each new person that receives an email or call--my promo code, from the email yousent me, didn't work and I'm being charged for an item your website says should be free. If you cannot resolve this, I want my order canceled in its entirety. Below is my chain of correspondence regarding the multiple issues with my order. (I included the previous correspondence here.)

This is the response that caused me to call and cancel my order: My name is April Flores. I will be helping you with your issue today. Thank you for your email. The code LB7784 appears to be redeemable at Lane Bryant.com which is not our company therefore not applicable to the order. Please accept our apologies if you have been inconvenienced.

Woman Within selling credit card info to #[protected]

i received a $139.99 charge to my account, and i never ordered anything. i started to order, then changed my mind. i am thinking that woman within has sold credit card numbers to the company that claims [protected]. please check this out. now i have to cx my credit card and get another one.

I just purchased a sweat suit set . the pants were too high. when i washed, they went up two more inches high. the fact i have to pay 7 dollars to return the item is ridiculous! be careful when you purchase from this company because they will sell clothing that are not long enough. the clothing also has serious problems when washing.

I was assured that return of the unused items would be easy. What was not explained was the fees for insurance and restocking. I have paid approximately 2/3 the cost in these fees. A rip off and I won't

I ordered my first online catalog order from Woman Within. The total including S&H was $53.37, which I authorized paid by my VISA. When the $53.37 showed up on my bank account today, they had helped themselves to another charge for $6.49. I will put a stop payment on the account and cancel that order today. This is not right!
