Oh, one last detail. The charge was for $34. 99. The thing that makes me so mad about this is that it costs the bank money to re - issue the card. It is also a hassle as it will take 7 - 10 days to receive the replacement card - at xmas time. I live in ct (Outside nyc). What states do all of you others that had this same problem live in? I've heard about these scams where guys sit in their cars and have a computer that is rigged to rip off credit card numbers as they are swiped when you make a purchase. Isn't wireless technology wonderful. I wonder if this is that scam. I have used this particular card so little, that i'm guessing it is some scam like this. Kudos to the credit card company for reversing out the charges the same day.

WMV*MATCH.COM [protected] TX also posted an unauthorized/fraudulent charge on my credit card. The credit card company reversed out the charge on the same day it was posted, so they must have been on to this scam. When I called the credit card company, they recommended cancelling the card.

Fradulant charge from match.com! I’ve never had an account them. Bank refused to refund the money claiming they investigated the charges and they found them to not be fraudulent! I’m on a very fixed income and can not afford to throw away $119.00

My account was charged $74.97 on Sept. 24 I did not authorize this. I had only signed up for a three month period
which was to end in Sept. It appeared on my charge account on the October billing. I am livid. I demand the charge be removed!

My account was Hacked today at 4:30 pm Pacific time, the person knew that Match would be closed and the customer service center would be unreachable until the next business day. They subsequently ordered top spot and charged $24.00 and then another subscription fee of $57.00 plus on top of that. Thankfully my bank flagged it as suspicious and contacted me with a text Via my phone. I contacted the bank right away and told them they had no authorization to be charging my account for those charges. I still had Match open in my phone and I saw the person had used my account to spam 30+ women with a mass messaging of the same stupid message. The number they gave was [protected]. It is a Texas area code which makes me come to the conclusion it is either an employee with access to database information they should not have or that Match.com has such crappy security that they have and are continuing to be hacked. They MUST know about this and Im going to possibly contact our news company and see how they like the publicity they deserve for not being more secure for their customers sake. Ive already notified my bank of the info I have screen saved and the details of what happend to my account. I had them cancel my debit card and they will be issuing me another one within a week. I was only a member for less than a week before this started. Talk about crappy service, Im going to tell everyone I know not to ever use this horrible service.

I cancelled my subscription about six months ago, they over drew my checking account this morning by taking one hundred seventy nine dollars, I do not have the app any more, I found a woman, I do not need it any more.

That is terrible. See my discussion with the customer service. Very disappointed about them. I don't know why their stealing behavior from customers cannot be stopped.

Danica D.: Hi, my name is Danica D.. Please give me a moment to review your account and I'll be right with you.
Me: I did not use the service since 2015 but the bill still charged me until recently I noticed. I even forgot my username already. You can check my membership log in via email and you will know that I haven't used that for years. Please cancel my membership and refund me from 2015 since I never got billing notice from you. Thanks.
Danica D.: I'd be happy to help you with that. While I'm looking into that for you, do you mind telling me how your experience on the site has been so far?
Me: I like your website, but I found my GF. Therefore, I never used that since 2015 then. Thanks.
Danica D.: First of all, congratulations! We are thrilled to hear the good news. We work hard to help our members find what you have found.
Danica D.: I'm sorry that you weren't aware of our auto-renewal policy. For convenience and to make sure your subscription benefits are never inadvertently lost, all Match subscriptions automatically renew by default when the subscription period is done. This also protects you from rate increases by locking in your rate for as long as you keep your subscription current.
Danica D.: And it shows that your automatic renewal is still active that's why your account was billed again.
Danica D.: Per your request, I've turned off the automatic renewal. You will still be able to utilize the subscriber-only features until the end date of your current subscription on 08/01/2017.
Me: Renew by default is fine. However, I never got a billing notice from that. That makes customers not be able to continue or cancel it until someday we notice that. Danica D.: Automatic renewal is included on the policy that you agreed on.
Me: But after the renew, there should be a notice mail, which I never got that.
Danica D.: I understand that there is no email notification because you agreed on the terms of use.
Me: For people not using that anymore, we won't be able to know that we are still charged for the service until we notice that someday.
Danica D.: I understand. But I can assure you now that your account will not be billed again.
Me: Let me chat with your supervisor if you cannot refund me for what I did not use.
Danica D.: I understand your frustration. However, at this time our system limits anyone, myself and management included, from issuing a refund.

Stay away from Match! I was a loyal customer for many years. Found the woman for me (outside Match) and called and cancelled my contract. Thought nothing more of it, and didn't follow up checking my credit card bill as closely as I should have. Two more 6 month charges at over $100 each, the I caught the third one within two days of the charge. Immediately contacted Match, admitting the two were my responsibility for not catching them when they hit. Requested a refund on the third charge, and they told me the best they could do would be 50% refund. Talked to a supervisor - after numerous calls to push the issue - and he refused to budge. requested he give me a phone or email address of a person that had the authority to authorize a full refund, and he again refused to do so. Told him I'd call direct to corporate, did so, and was sent back to the same feckless office. Deciding to take what refund I could get, they then only offered less than 40%. This is how they treat a loyal customer of many years. What a farce of a site! Donald Koch, 2311 Hyner Mountain Road, Lock Haven, PA

Lyn Martinez is the name used on match.com e-mail used was lynsnowflakes@yahoo.com.
Claimed to have been from Tucson but now living in London because of death of father.
Submitted a fake passport with Lynda Martinez, but careful examination showa Lyn Davies at the bottom of the passport. The Passport is an old style.
The FBI in Tucson filed a full IC3 report tha tthe Legat in London gave to Metro and the Interpol and a anti-scam was set up and almost caught the ones who get the money from Western Union.
Now this person claims she has deserted the group and has flown to Manilla where she wired 1K back to my son. We know this is seed money and we have reported all to the FBI. I want these people found as they have ripped off many poor people

Let's give an applause to match.com's CEO, Mister Greg Blatt, for honing his business manipulation skills. MEMBER BEWARE: Match.com automatically signs up it's new members - at least those with 6 month memberships - for auto-renewal. You have to call them to get this turned off on your account. Also, it is not clearly stated when you sign up, and when your six months comes due they do not inform you that they will be charging your card again, so surprise-surprise, you are stuck with another $108 bill. Then, to top it off, the company conveniently does not give access to it's customer service reps to make a reimbursement to membership accounts. They train them to preach the "policy terms" to callers, then to claim incompetence when it comes to the technical aspects. Their systems are, once again, conveniently set up so that this adjustment can not be made. I could not even get the remaining 5 months reimbursed into my account. I have worked closely with the marketing industry for over ten years now, and I am certain that this is completely intentional on the part of match.com. I can't even imagine how much money they make off of consumers with this scam. You go Greg!

Three charges to my card tonight I found. 1 for WMV.Match.com and 2 for www.Match.com., or possibly 1 of these is from WMV as well. One was denied, others pending.

I have already contacted my card company and have tried contacting WWW.Match.com

Yes, I apparently violated terms of agreement, but hadn't not actually subscribed yet. I registered which cost $1.00. I tried to join at the monthly rate but they only bill at a yearly rate based on monthly rate. I indicated to them, in an email, because they kept strongly urging me to join, that I did not have the money yet in my accounts, but would in a couple of days. I am not sure what I violated other than using what was available to me for $1.00. Match.com kept saying people were trying to get in touch with me, so I indicated in my profile without giving any info, at all, as to how someone could reach me, that I was not ignoring anyone, but would subscribe fully in a few days. I think that may have been the problem, but I don't know. I gave no phone, e-mail, address or anyway anyone could reach me "for free" on my part. They won't allow me to email them, they make it impossible, they keep booting me out. They won't recognize my username, they say i have to change it, but they won't recognize anything I change it do. I was not lewd, over sexual, unless even reference to sex, is considered "dirty" or against the rule. If it is they are running a puritanical organization. No swear words, no vulgarity, but a little description in PG terms about sexual compatibility. I don't know and they won't tell me. I am angry. I am 56 live alone, lonely and am trying to try to meet other gay men. Now I guess I have to go back to attending bars, and have all they young people ignore me. BE invisible again.

I found a website named Match.com. After a while I found a woman. She seemed very nice and finally a felt in love with her. When it came time to meet she announced that have no money to buy ticket. I offered to buy it for her but she told that only she herself can order a ticket. I believed her and sent money. You can guess what happened later.

DO NOT USE MATCH.COM ! Their “matching” service simply doesn’t work, and they take your money even if you have told them don’t want to give it to them. Do you really need any more reasons?

Yes, I got scammed by a fat cat corporate consumer rip-off corporation named Match.com for $101.94 and I have NO recourse, and neither will you. Turns out, THEY HAVE CREDIT CARD COMPANIES ON THEIR SIDE, AND THEY MAKE MILLIONS RIPPING PEOPLE OFF WITH DIRECT LIES AND DECEIVING BILLING TERMS. They are professionals at it, just do a web search and you will find cases across countless consumer rip-off websites.

I was a member for 1 year, that was my whole hearted effort to “really” try it out. I was recently auto billed for a full priced 6 month extension to my subscription …despite me having a phone conversation with customer service on two separate occasions prior the billing that ended with “yes, auto renew is turned off” (first call was after they auto billed me at the first 6mo end date, and convinced me to stay with a discount coupon). Thing is, once they get your credit card billed, they are legally protected under their terms and use policy (which you must agree too use match.com). “They have the right to bill you” …credit card companies consider this a legally binding agreement, and you agreed to it …so now you are all alone …your future credit rating hanging on a string. Wait, it’s can’t be like that …shouldn’t Match.com simply refund you, easy right …no …because you agreed to the terms of use, and you are nothing more than a meat sack that has money inside it, and they exist solely to take it perpetuate their corporation paychecks. Yes, their con is a simple as this, and you know what, it really works well.

I went ahead to cancel my membership at the end of three months subscription... And only to found out i was charged for the next three months! I did not authorize these charges and when I called Match.com customer service number, they said they could not help me and I had to send an email to resolutions@support.match.com because nothing can be done. This is not only very poor service it is illegal and unethical. I am very upset when talk to anyone in person and it was like listening to a broken record and got no resolution. Please be assertive with your choices and this one has poor values and and there are to get your money first and foremost.

Several years ago I joined Match.com and they charged my credit card without my permission for renewal and I had to fight for a refund. They then continued to post my information, after it had expired. It was very difficult to rech the company.

I was very specific when I signed up again recently, this time they charged me for 6 months when I only signed up for three months. I called Match.com and they refused to address the issue, I asked for a manager, but was put on hold for an indefinite amount of time. So, I filed a billing complainet with my credit card company. I called Match. com a week later to speak to a manager (after the initial person that I spoke with was incredibly rude) and the manager at the corporate HQ agreed to credit my account and gave me several free months . Sounds great, except in reality...they canceled my account early, in less than three months and erased my entire account history. They made NO attempt to contact me to discuss the issue. When I called back several weeks later they were indignant that I had called my bank - which is typical credit card practice and did not appear to understand that it is against the law to charge whatever they wanted to my credit card without my permission! I quess they think that they have such a volume business and a high turnover that most people will not notice or do not care about an extra $30, $60. or $100...but it is their arrogance and the principle that a company does not have free access to a persons credit card and the ability to manipulate their charges and agreements and then can just bully you and refuse to comply with the law.

I joined match.com for 3 months and when I went to cancel they offered me a special of 3 months for the price of 1 month to stay as a member, so I decided that I would give it another try. I did not have good luck the first time, but thought that perhaps my life circumstances were preventing me from using their services and would give it another shot. Just before my next 3 months were over, I logged into my account that I had not been using because of time constraints and other factors to cancel once again. I had another offer of staying for 3 more months for the price of 1 month and declined this time know that I did not want to be a member even if they paid me to be one.

I was very diligent about making sure that this cancelation went through as I have had 2 other girlfriends get raked over the coals by them in the past and had hundreds of dollars deducted from their accounts due to forgetting to cancel. They tried to get their money back as they were both in serious relationships and did not know of the policy that they were going to automatically renew if they did not physically go into their account and cancel themselves. The company is so shady that not only did they neglect to process my cancelation when I asked them to do so, they proceeded to take $50.98 out of my bank account that I was slowing starting to close and had very limited funds in it.

I got a notice from my bank for an overdraft and I was furious as I have never ever in my entire 35 years on this earth bounced a check or had to use overdraft protection. I called match.com and did get my $50.98 but after numerous calls numerous times, they refused to issue me a check for the $22 my bank charged me. I am very upset at the fact that match.com is scamming people out of their hard earned money. If I were on a very strict budget and needed that $22, then I could have had other financial difficulties paying my bills.

Match.com has become so greedy that they cannot even pay for trying to scam me out of my money. The said “it was a technical glitch in the system and had happened to others”. They refused to give me the overdraft fee from my bank and told me to call my bank and ask them to remove it. It is not fair that I had to spend my time calling them numerous times waiting on hold for long periods of time and talking to their incompetent employees let alone pick up the phone one more time and tell my bank that I was requesting they pay for match.com being a scammer.

Please beware before signing up with match.com. They need to do some serious quality control and get a grip on reality when they are the ones that made the “mistake”. Then think of all of the people that don’t notice the glitch or just suck up the fees for lack of time or other reasons. Match.com is scamming people and they need to stop. Beware. Don’t use their services. They will try and rob your money any way they can.

Match.com - dating online service

I enrolled match.com for 3 months to give it a try, I started the subscription on 05/29/07.

On 8/27/09 they charged my account for an additional 3 months, this charge was unauthorized and there was no courtesy email to remind me of renewing my subscription. I find this very unprofessional, and who can tell me that they won't make any other unauthorized charges when they feel like it (seems this company has such power over my own checking account) -it's ridiculous. I requested immediate cancellation of my subscription on 09/03/07 (when I became aware of this), and I received an email that they have a "no refund policy". So basically they can take when they want and no be accountable? Will appreciate someone's help on this.

Regards,
Eduardo Guerrero.

As I searched for free at the members posted at their profiles etc. Once developing my profile as such. I then decided to subscribe in the amount that was supposed to be $19.99 mos. for 12 mos. But on day 2 finding out that match.com actually put a hold for these funds on my account in the amount of $239.88. I immediately tried to reach match.com, but no human to voice my concerns with. A voice recording stated to call between 8a-5p. Will attempt to call back on day 3. Concerning and alarming that half the members were no longer available to view. Even once the subscription was paid. This concerned me some . I actually said to myself " How can someone just e-mail, send wink or even show interest to me and my profile, but is now just a few minutes later, unavailable." I intend to take this as far as the law will allow. They see vulnerability and they have taken full advantage. I have only been subscribed for 2 full days. I am requesting them to reverse my charges. Also will file complaint with my institution, but have to actually wait until they pull the funds. Is this a Damn shame or what. Boy have I been had or so feels like it for now.

Today I got an email from PayPal notifying me of a charge of $59.95 done by match.com
I did not authorized this charge. About three months ago I opened and account but I remember signing up for a 1 time charge. Today I called match.com and they said that they could not refund the money but that they could offer me a 30% discount on my membership. I said I wanted a refund, the guy still said he could not do it, but the only thing he could do was to cancel my recurring charges. I was really angry and told him I would report this and asked him for a cancellation number. He said he could not give me any but that he would send me an email with the cancellation number. It turned out that at the end he issued a refund. This company will try to do everything to rip you off, but if you fight back they will issue the refund. I also called PayPal to cancel every agreement of recurring billing, to my surprise I had 3! So, watch out for match.com they will try to rip you!

At the middle of February I signed up for what I believed to be a one month subscription for Match.com, an internet dating service. When my checking account was debited at the middle of March, I checked with my bank and found Match.com had sent the debit through. When I contacted Match.com and requested a refund, I was told I had agreed to the ongoing charge and the charge would only stop when I "resigned my membership." If there is such an obligation in the agreement, it is not obvious nor is it made clear. I did resign my membership, effective April 15th 2008, but as of today, March 18th, Match.com continues to refuse to credit my account. In addition to the ongoing charges, the matches were terrible.

Same thing happened to us we have Two Charges for this WMV*match.com account and another $2.69 charge from some COMQ thing, the bank things that was their "test" to see if the card was active. I'm curious if this is REALLY from the Match.com? Or something else that is using them to mask it. None the less its a little scary, the card they used was one that has NEVER left our house, and only been used online on three accounts (Netflix, a hair dye shop and jambery). Our bank has refunded us and cancelled the card. However, its kind of scary!

This scam is still going strong. 3/7/15 and they took almost $70 out of my account, not to mention a $5 charge for Cabela's, and $3 charge for Breast Cancer Foundation. That's only listing what went through! Luckily, my bank noted it as suspicious activity, so they rejected like, 10 other transactions to a whole lot of other things (like $800 worth of car parts!) I hope these people get ### raped in jail and rot in hell. I can't stand people like this who rip of people who work hard for their money.

I got two unauthorized charges for $71.97 3 months apart. they have a clause at their website that if you do not call and cancel they will start to and continue to charge your card even months to years later! I have not been on their website for years! This is a very dishonest way to do business.
