I have complaint it to match.com. and they cancelled my membership end of the first month and refund me $19. I have paid $69 for three months . I have sent a messages to web site several times that they should pay at least $46 but they ignored my messages They gave false information at the trial and they have to refund full amount actually. Match.com - blocking practices

I had been a member on match.com for over a year and a half. I did find someone and dated for about 7 months. During that time, I hid my profile and stopped my subscription. Unfortunately, things did not work out with the woman and we parted ways. Last night I went back onto Match.com, unhid my profile and signed up for 3 months of service. After signing...

Match.com unauthorized debit charges

I checked my bank acct this morning and noticed a charge of $59.97 for Match.com. I called the number posted with the transaction [protected] and then immediately called my bank to have the card canceled. I saw that many others have had this issue with this company. Just wanted to share my story so if this happens with someone else they can see that it is a scam. My bank will refund the charges but I have to get a new credit card. Hopefully this doesn't happen again. I've seen several postings where it has continued to be a problem.

I had $62.97 tken out of my account. i wasn't even on Match.com. I would like to have my money put back into my account. That is redicious to take money that doesn't belong to you. Plus word of mouth is the best and I will never be on that dating site again. Why hasn't my money been put back into my account.

Match.com refunds

I signed up for match.com... Based on the criteria I put in, they sent me a slew of 'matches' that had none of the criteria which I selected... I expected a few to be erroneous but not all. I put in a particular ethnicity, and not one of the matches had that ethnicity. I started getting a slew of emails from persons I was not interested, within 18 hrs I wrote to match.com requesting a refund... No response, I then wrote again at 24hrs... No response... I said ok, they are probably closed.
The following day I responded to two persons who had written to me, then went on to call match.com and again ask for a refund. I was then informed that I could not get any money back because I used the site by sending two emails...
I informed them of all the preceding acts, I asked to speak to a supervisor who didn't listen to a word I said but offered to change my match criteria...
I then informed them they were in contravention to the civil code as I had 3 days to request a refund (Not sure if this is true or not, but I googled it) they then said that I was based in canada so it had nothing to do with them, I told them that was not the case as they were a corporation registered in the us.

I urged them to return my $50 as it is a relatively small cost to them, or keep it and pay much more in loss of reputation as I will not stay quiet and I will complain on any and every medium that will give me a voice in addition to researching my legal rights on this matter. The $50 is far from the issue as much as I feel robbed, like I wasted my time and suffered immensely poor customer service.

Match.com match.com is a ripoff

Match.Com is a ripoff. One goes there and sign up, hoping to meet singles and start new relationships. Somewhere along the way, they manage to bill you around $100 bucks, with the promise that you will get super good service blah blah blah. Like an idiot, I paid. Its been a whole TWO weeks and I haven't even managed to say hello (or get a hello) from anyone. Except from fake accounts. God, Match.Com is FULL of fake accounts. People who wink at you and say hello and then just try to sell you some medicine, anti-nail fungus product, acai berry, or whatever. Stay away from Match.Com. It is preferable to join OkCupid.Com or 123Bit.Com at least they are 100% free and users will not feel ripped off.

Match.com avoid this place at all costs

I met this guy on-line through match.com. We really liked each other and spent hours chatting on-line, almost every evening. Whilst he was chatting to me, he told me he had been working in Nigeria and had a contract with a company. He apparently is a Civil Engineer and his work took him abroad alot. After a while he started to ask for money, he said he had run out of money and that everything was so expensive too. Also his contractors had not as yet and up to the time of writing paid him any money. So this is how my foolishness began. I sent him £200, then that was not enough, £300, £400 until it got to the point, where my last payment of £300 sent on 7 February 2012, he said had been picked up by another person in the bank. I said to him that this was not possible unless the person had taken the correct number and also identification. He promised, begged me, said he was crying, lonely and he was stuck in Nigeria. You name it, he said it. He loved me and this was the last time - you are right if you are reading this. I am $2500.00 in debt.

Match.com is full of scammers.
I think there are more scammers than actual members.
Most of the people that send you winks, on there will dissapear within 8 hours of sending you a wink.
All these scammers do all day is try to prey on lonely people. I never was scammed, I can figure when things don't add up.
I have reported potential scammers to match.com, but they do little to remove these people from the system.
Match.com is over. It was a thing of the 90's. It has turned into a haven for scammers.

Match.com site is chock full of scammers

I joined on 8/23/12 had built my profile and started seaching. every person I came into contact with was not from my local area as stated. Also every person that contacted me was a scammer. This site is chock full of them. in the 3 days I used the site, there were at least 10 if not 12 people, all were scammers. Since them I am now receiving over 100 scam emails daily. good think I never published any private info. I had called on 8/26 to cancel my membership and they wouldn't even let me! they said since I had used my email once that I was not eligible for cancel. how stupid it that! I have to pay for 3 months now? what? I told them this is not what it is advertised as so therefore they are a scam also. I wonder if this site is owned and operated by scammers?
I am reading and reading so many scam complaints about them I am really thinking this is true. They have no business charging someone for services not rendered!

Match.com billing

I have attempted to contact customer service center via email and have not received any response back. I also contacted customer service via phone and am very unhappy.

I joined match.com less than a month ago and it is not working the way I was lead to believe it would. I have done my part to contact matches and gone thru the connections and filled out my profile; however, some of the men who I have been connected with are not even in my match requirements nor am I part of their criteria - so why should they even come up as a match? One of the customer service reps told me I should lower my must haves which I do not think should be questioned, just general wants (ex: want to have children) and I do not feel I should have to do this at all if I want to meet a true match to myself.

I was told b/c I had sent just 1 email I am unable to receive a refund and their system does not allow them to give partial refunds. I do not understand why they do not have the ability to offer a refund to clients who are unsatisfied with the services. I do not think I should have to pay for a service that I can get from other dating FREE dating websites. I feel this is a scam and the company should have better customer service than this.

i had cancelled my service like 2 months ago and was still automatically billed on my credit card, i had not used match website in a couple months. my last logon besides today to get the phone number was to cancel my subscription, which i did, and match still billed, because as they say they have no record of me cancelling and refused to refund my payment of $59.99. i was just charged 9 days ago, i see no reason why i am not able to receive a refund. i plan to seek other means of refund, filing a dispute with my american express credit card company, also including finding websites where i can write reviews on how i was treated and charged and with what i believe to be clear and blatant fraud on match.com's part (i cancelled service but am still charged on my credit card) i was not given a refund because the representative told me i had already received a refund within the past 12 months, the last time i received a refund was the same exact thing, i had canceled my subscription on the website, but the charge still went through. at that time the refund was issued, but this time because i received the last one i am unable to receive another. so essentially match.com is scamming people. you cancel service and they charge your credit card then when you call to complain they refund you, if you decide to sign back up in the future and then cancel again, they continue to charge you, but now will not refund you.i am very unhappy and dissatisfied with match and this process and plan to make it very known to whoever i can in the future how I was defrauded by match.com and would never, ever recommend anyone using this service. It seems to me to be clear fraud in hopes people will not notice they have been charged my match on their credit card, if they didnt think that why wouldn't they send email to remind you of charge or confirm that they just applied a charge to ur account. I mean they send u emails everyday, that is what their biz is all about, but they cant send reminder

Match.com unfair billing/ problem stated onlog in page

My log-in page says there is problem with my account. I am unable to log in at all. My account was paid 6 months in advance. I have asked Match.com to email me. Please contact me IMMEDIATELY ([protected]@yahoo.com) as I am paying for a service that I cannot use!
On the last two 6 month subscriptions, my credit card was automatically charged for another 6 months...TWICE. The last 6 months, I called and asked them the date before which I needed to call to cancel. They gave me the date and I put it on my calendar. Since the date was on weekend, I actually called a day early. I was told that the billing cycle actually began on the 3rd of the month, and I would incur the charges! I have requested that I be taken off auto-renewal. They did not contact me in any way; they did not honor the free 6-month guarantee. If this happens again, I will call the BBB and destroy that card and have a new one sent to me.

Match.com I would warn a potential subscriber to match.com to not give them any money

First of all, thanks for reading my review on this website. I paid $30.00 for a month on match.com, assuming that I would be able to at least get a few people to respond to my countless e-mails and IM's. NOT ONE person ever answered in any way. I did have a picture on the site, and also had a very good profile set up. When I contacted customer service, they were completely unhelpful. I would warn a potential subscriber to match.com to NOT give them any money, as their site is completely useless.

Quite simply and incredibly obviously, you need to contact the company that charged your card and your credit card company to reverse the charges.

Match.com automatic withdrawal policy

Match.com's automatic membership renewal (with its automatic withdrawal provision) is an obvious attempt to siphon off undeserved fees for unwanted services. I have read a number of complaints concerning Match.com's automatic withdrawal policy, but have never seen this killer solution.

You want to take advantage of Match.com's service, but you don't want Match.com unilaterally withdrawing funds from your credit card or bank account. Here's how you stop Match.com in its tracks:

First, as soon as you purchase your membership, you immediately cancel. Match. com's policy says you get no refund, but your membership remains active for the duration of your initial membership period. If you cancel immediately, you shouldn't have to worry about missing a cancellation date which might not occur for six months. In theory, you have outsmarted Match.com.

But here's the "killer" nobody has mentioned.

Second, go to your bank or credit card company. Revoke Match.com's right to make any future withdrawals from you account. Financial institutions sometimes call this a "revocation of authority". Once Match.com's authority to make a withdrawal from your account has been revoked, Match.com can't touch your account.

Third, notify Match.com that its automatic withdrawal authority has been revoked. You want to notify Match.com of this revocation because if Match.com does try to make an automatic withdrawal and your bank or credit card company charges you a fee for denying Match.com's withdrawal request, then Match.com, being on notice of revocation, becomes obligated to pay any fee charged by your bank for denying its request for an unauthorized automatic withdrawal.

Complicated and involved? A little bit. But given Match.com's determination to siphon money off unsuspecting consumers, you would be wise to take these steps to protect yourself and avoid Match.com's predatory business practices. Furthermore, if a large number of people begin revocating Match.com's automatic withdrawal authority, maybe Match.com will change its policies.

Match.com automatic renewal

Complaint Letter to Match.com
I signed up for a 3 month subscription with Match.com last October (2011) and used it up to the end of the 3 month period but when I got my credit card statement, Match had charged me for another 3 month term without me initiating another 3 month subscription. Their customer service representative informed me that the auto-renewal was part their 'terms and conditions' at the bottom of the pages to prevent "interruption of service, " an answer that in my opinion hides their consumer unfriendly practice to sucker in subscribers into renewals they never agreed to. I actually spoke with two Match customer service reps and got the same canned answers from both of them, that it would be impossible for Match.com to refund the amount charged for the additional 3 months because of their automatic renewal policy in the 'terms of service.'
I believe Match.com is very consumer unfriendly at best and engaging in deceptive business practices.at worst. I know that there have been many people with this and other complaints against this company, people like me who think their service is deceptive.
In my view, Match.com's inflexibility with regard to billing complaints and their practice of auto-renewing subscriptions should be made clear to the consumer during the online subscription process where it can be clearly and easily seen, not buried within the fine print of their 'terms and conditions.'

Today I discovered Match.com has charged my PayPal twice for $72 for two additional 3-month subscriptions that I didn't want, or know were coming. (I signed up for 3 months in Sept 2015) I haven't used the site; I hid my profile three months ago. They don't notify you before or after they charge your account. I found the charge on my PayPal statement. In December, I checked the NO Auto Renew option on Match.com site, but that did nothing. Match refused to refund me for 6 months of unused/unwanted/unauthorized services. I have PayPal checking into it. In the meantime, PayPal will not make future payments to Match.com from me. I wish there were something we could do to make Match stop this fraud.

I got scammed by match.com the same way but I was able to fix it! I was expecting an email from them telling me my subscription was almost up and then I would cancel it, I had no plans to renew it. I noticed about a week after that they charged my credit card and called them immediately. I kept asking to talk to another person thinking that eventually someone would cave and refund me but they were all very adamant that there are no refunds. I ended up finding the solution after reading what someone posted about automatic renewals not being enforceable if the company doesn't notify you that it is about to happen. I called them back stating this as the other person said they did but match still did not care. I finally called my credit card company and they were amazing. They said that Visa has a similar policy and I just noticed that the renewal was credited back to me a few days ago. So I got my refund regardless of what match said about no refunds because what they are doing isn't allowed, but most people will give up and they get away with it, they are required to notify about renewals shortly prior to charging but they don't because they know too many people would cancel and they wouldn't get as much money. I'm too stubborn for that and I hope I can help other people out to get refunded too by passing this info on.

Match.com engages in deceptive practice in automatic renewal. Even when you go to the trouble to stop automatic renewal, which I did, they ignore this and will not acknowledge a use without auto renewal. Having assumed this auto-renewal was stopped, I did not know of my charge until I got a statement from the credit card company. No notice was received from them. Complaint is to no avail. I strongly recommend not using their service.

MATCH.COM SUCKS.
I signed up for 1-month subscription...they force you to use Itunes to purchase now. I purposefully went on to the match.com site to make sure there was no autorenewal and it pushes you to iTunes app store...which I could not even locate any subsciption information. After getting billed again (!@#$!@)...I DUG FOR AN HOUR AND FOUND OUT HOW TO TURN OFF THE AUTO RENEWAL.

MATCH...YOU SUCK. YOUR BUSINESS PRACTICES SUCK. I HOPE EVERONE SEES THIS AND STOPS USING YOUR SERVICE. CRIMINALS.

Be very careful when initially activating an account. They do now advise that your account will be automatically renewed at the end of your chosen period. I didn't realise that this is the case, noticed a three month subscription renewed at a charge of £59.97 and came out of my bank account two days ago. Absolutely no way would they reverse this payment, nor offer to reduce the chosen period or even offer an upgrade. they will not budge, be very careful, ensure you do not allow your subscriptions to run into another period as you will not get your money back.

Also, for anyone else having this problem, I recommend submitting a complaint to the Better Business Bureau online (of which Match.com is a member).

I have had the same problem just now. I discovered an absurd $70 charge, and they didn't bother to send me a notification before or after. Their web site says they take your money "as a courtesy" so you're service isn't interrupted. Yeah, right. I spent over and hour today on the phone talking to supervisors and the response was all the same canned answer: It's our policy, your account is ineligible for a refund.

This company has basically put into place a business model that attempts to steal money from customers and hopes they won't notice. If they do, they simply refuse to do anything about it. I recommend staying as far away from them as possible. Try OK Cupid. It's free, and high quality.

Match.com did an auto renewal on my account for 6 months without notifying me before or after they charged it. I hadn't used my account for over two months and had forgot to cancel it. I called 3 days after they charged my credit card for the renewal and they were refusing to refund my money for the six month period of $110. I quoted the New York's General Obligations Law 5-903 to them and asked if their supervisor was aware of this law (I live in New York) This statute requires that a vendor in any "service, maintenance or repair contract" with an auto renewal clause give its customer written notice of an auto- renewal at least 15 days, but not more than 30 days, before the cancelation deadline; otherwise, the auto-renewal provision is deemed unenforceable. Check out this link about the law--- http://www.ngelaw.com/Contract-Auto-Renewals-Not-Necessarily-So-Automatic-as-Recent-NY-Case-Demonstrates/ . After I quoted this law they promptly changed their story and told me they would issue a refund. Hope this information helps someone else avoid their auto renewal scam policies.

My goodness, I just found that match has been charging me 95 dollars every six months for the past two years. I've relieved no emails telling me that they were stealing my money away from me. I hadn't used their service in two years since their "promotion" ran its course. I had no idea they were taking money from me. I don't know what to do, if I can do anything.

I had a the very same thing happen to me where Match.com billed me $62.97 every 3 months 6 different times. I finally caught it on my bank statement and cried foul to Match. They refunded 2 months worth but I'm still out nearly $300 for service I didn't use. Very deceptive because I never got any kind of confirmation email from them saying they were billing my account. Yes I should scrutinize my bank statements and have caught it but I didn't until it was way too late. I tried to file a protest with my bank but because the billing happened outside of the 60 day window (the bank policy) I couldn't fight it. I had turned off my match profile after maybe a month of when I first went on Match but got billed for 18 months. That sucks. I would like to see a Class Action Suit brought against them.
