We had Window World install windows with argon gas for our entire home. We have had problems with the windows since they were installed. First, the argon gas does not appear to be working. The window glass is freezing cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Second, the windows were not installed well. The windows were placed into the window holes in the walls around our house and then caulked into place. A few of the windows were not made to the correct size for the holes so spacers were used. The spacers look terrible and this is not what we paid for. In addition, all of the windows in the back and side of our home have caused the vinyl siding above the windows to bow from the weight of the windows. In addition, because the windows were placed in the holes and only caulked into place, water and air blow in around the windows. Several times water has poured in from the top of the windows soaking the windows, the molding around the windows, and the walls and carpet under the windows. In addition, the molding that was built for one of the windows was built poorly. The wood molding separated and air is blowing in from outside through the holes in the molding. We have called Window World several times for help. The first time we tried to talk with Window World about the installation they did not return our calls. Next, we called when we noticed the vinyl on the top of the windows was bowing and the windows were not providing consistent temperature control. Someone was sent out to assess the situation. He told us it is was our fault we were having these problems, that our vinyl siding was not installed correctly and that the windows were installed as they contracted. He pointed out that that Window World doesn't provide any service to ensure the windows are installed correctly based on the placement of the windows. They were only contracted to make the windows, remove the old windows, and place the new windows in the holes. They were not required to install the windows correctly based on the customer's home. We spoke with our sales person when we saw he at a home show in February 2010. He seemed shocked that we were having problems and stated they have warranty and they would make everything better. He asked that we call him so he could come and review the problem and get everything fixed. We called him a week or two after the show. He said he needed to look at his calendar to schedule a date to come and see our windows. We did not hear back from him. In late April we called again and spoke with the store personnel who took down our information and had our sales person schedule a date to see us during that call. Our sales person expressed his concern that we were not happy and they were going to fix the problems we were having. The sales person visited and reviewed the problems. He said that he would report everything to their manager and they would get back with us. We have had no further contact by Window World. We now keep towels below the windows in to sop up the water when it rains and plan on removing these windows and installing better windows correctly when we have another $3500 to spend.

Ordered 8 replacement windows. I have paid the 1/2 down payment required. The 4 they installed were not like the others in my house so now I will have to replace 2 more so the front view of my house will be the same. The contractor used my bathroom and flooded it and the hallway thus damaging my wood floors. They have only offered $140 to fix the floors and the estimate is $1300. They are still pestering me about installing the other 4 windows! Don't want them back on my property!

Wow, that is alot of bad experience there! I own just a small company ( EntryPoint Exteriors) in Virginia Beach but have many years of experience. We always recommend that you look at the performance ratings on a replacement window before buying as it is the only way to know if you are over paying or not. Then we suggest you check reviews thoroughly. You shouldn't have to over pay to get a good job!

Evidently they tore out new construction metal or vinyl windows, you are onlygoing to have about an inch and a half left of your drywall because the window is over 3 inches wide and yes it is screwed through the drywall(to the 2x4 that is lurking behind it duh).Did you pay for the windows to be wrapped on the outside? From the pics it looks like they are not wrapped and yes water wind bugs and all kinds of other stuff will come through there eventually.Every company that subs out work runs into problems every now and then, but to me it looks like you got the $189.00 job that comes with no wrapping.

We had WW install new windows in our home near Nashville, Tennessee and had problems with an extremely large bay picture window in our living room. WW made several attempts to correct the problem but to no avail. After an email to corporate, we received a phone call from the local WW asking when they could come out and resolve this problem. When the store owner came out, he brought a former employee with him who now has his own installation company and he informed us that due to the weight of window it was improperly installed. He went to the local builders supply, bought the necessary materials and repaired the window immediately. We also had the WW store in Jackson, TN. to install the same double pane argon filled low-E windows in a home we have on Kentucky Lake in Camden, Tn. When the installers arrived to do the installation, all of the windows were too narrow and too short and we would not accept them. They re-measured and re-ordered the windows and this time they were correct. Mean-while, the large picture window near Nashville exploded and had to be replaced. Another call to WW and they responded, took measurements, ordrerd a new window, came out to replace the window, began sealing the edges and wham, the glass broke. It was not safety glass which is required on all floor level glass. So guess what? Another 15 foot window ordered, and replaced and so far we have not had any more problems with WW . So keep emailing corporate and they will step in and take care of you.

Shoddy workmanship runs pretty consistent across the USA as it pertains to Window World. We have about the same problems as ViWalker. They did NOT make the windows big enough for the opening and therefore inserted them close to 2" inside of the original window placement. They screwed them into the sheet rock! I had blinds that USED to fit INSIDE the window, now I have to hang them OVER the window because the windows are so far into the house. In addition, we have so much draft and cold air. We have used 15 tubes of caulk on 6 windows so far. They put the windows so far into the house they set them on the TRIM! If I wanted to change the trim later on inside, I won't be able to...the windows are on it! Looks horrible! (see the 2 first pix) This is a nightmare! I wish I had read reviews before I contracted WW. Their customer service--well there isn't. I contacted 'headquaters' and that was of no value.
I can't understand how a business like this can stay in business for long. Everyone I know that is looking to get windows will be alerted about this company. I have prevented one other couple from making the same mistake, I will do my best to see that WW NEVER has business in MY town again! EVER.
Oh yes, and they want to blame the customer! NEWSFLASH WW! You're SUPPOSED to be the experts here, not us!
@JW3...rest assured I will be contacting an attorney over this. I am SICK over it!
I am filing complaints with every agency I can think of, including but not limited to Attorney General, BBB, Consumer Protection. I will be doing some research to find out if this company can be banned from entering the County I live it. I feel that is consumer protection as well.
