Wendy’s food

Went thru drive Thru today at 1:05pm (Reg 4, 2010-03-16, 1:05pm, [protected] 4 4052, 17816 108th Ave SE Renton WA 98058) I live a mile from here so am familiar with poor service on a continuing basis from this site, I am a Wendys customer so I keep hoping my calls and feedback will make a change.
Today, ordered a triple meal #3 with chili instead of fries and 4 chicken nuggets.
I left and headed to my destination, I reached in a bag and came out with chili, they placed the chili container on it's side nest to the hamburger in bottom of bag, the lid had come open and bottom of bag was leaking chili. I stopped and pulled into a parking lot, below the chili and hamburger was my straw, bent and flattened. there were 2 napkins but they were already covered with chili. In the other bag was 4 chicken nuggets and 2 napkins along with 4 sweet/sour sauces. I had asked for barbeque sauce. The nuggest were not warm but cold, all of them. Also in the bag were 2 napkins, no spoon for chili or crackers for chili. Person taking order had problem understanding English so I repeated everything at speaker and window. Today’s experience was the final straw, and I have gone out of my way to give them feedback and never asked for anything in return other than fixing the problem. Last time my hamburger had one less meat patty than ordered, food is rarely hot and forget the fries, soggy. How Wendy's can allow the service at this facility to continue is beyond me, I hear the same comment from other people in the area...HELP DAVE!
I remember when Wendy’s had to hire off duty police officers to control the traffic during lunch hour, and they wore buttons that said Hot and Juicy….now it should be Cold and Old!

Wendy’s cleanliness

This restaurant is at I-70 in the Pilot travel center in Columbus, OH.
I've seen some dirt buildup on tables and chairs before but this store takes the cake. Those tables were filthy! I should have taken my order to go. This wasn't on just one or 2 tables. It was on all of them. I even wet a napkin and rubbed some spots to see if it was just scarring from use or actual dirt...it was dirt. I was completely disgusted and wondered if the kitchen area was much better [since it's mostly out of the customer's eyes it probably wasn't].
Glad I was just passing thru the area. I wouldn't want to have this Wendy's as my hometown restaurant.

My fiance is a truck driver and was stopped for a restart in Columbus, Ohio. He decided to go into the Wendy's at the Pilot to get something to eat before he got going again. He ordered a #2 combo... with NO CHEESE. When he got back to his truck and started to eat, he took a big bite out of his burger and tasted nothing but CHEESE. He immediately spit it out and looked at the burger. It was loaded down with cheese and a dried up burger patty. He used to go to this Wendy's everytime he was in Columbus, but he says NEVER AGAIN!

And yet you ate there anyway? I am sure while traveling there are/were many of places you could have eaten. One thing that really makes me have zero empathy for you is, in the letter, there is no mention of you pointing this out to someone so that the tables could be cleaned, or better yet, asking for management.

Wendy’s lettuce

Every single sandwich I've had there has given me the part of the lettuce you are supposed to throw out. It is supposed to be green and is always white and brown, its disgusting. I'd like to know who decides that its okay to do this, because this is ridiculous.

Wendy’s hygiene

One of the employees at this location has very poor hygiene, and does not wash his hands after wiping his nose and blowing his nose on his apron. I believe his name was Bob and also think he was like an assistant manager which is very disturbing. He dipped a cup in the ice holder with his unwashed hands, and did not use a scoop. After the apron thing the shift manager told him to change his apron now and wash his hands because that is unsanatary.

Wendy’s horrible service

It took almost a solid HOUR to get an order that cost less than $5! It took half an hour for them to bring the food out the first time (we were only the second people in line..), and when they brought it out, it was wrong. So it took yet another 30 minutes for them to correct the mistake they had made. Plus, they were very rude and unaplogetic for making us sit in the car (in the cold because it was drive-through) for SO LONG. Really...all I wanted was a stupid chicken wrap. If I knew the workers' names, I would complain about them to the manager, but I don't believe we got a receipt or anything with their names on it. And I've only ever made a formal complaint one other time in my life. It takes quite a bit for me to take the time to submit these things. But this service was absolutely horrible!

Wendy’s accuracy of order

I hate bad drive-thru service. I am sure everyone has the same complaint from time to time. Why is soo hard to make sure that everything this is ordered is included? This is my experience today at Wendys at12:06pm 1/22/2010 I did not receive my order of chicken nuggets. I placed the order and was instructed to drive up to the 1st window. As I paid for my order a second person ran up and brought the food to this window. I asked for BBQ sauce for my nuggets and made sure to ask if my order was complete. After driving back to work I noticed that nuggets were not inside my bag. I called the store and when I mentioned that my nuggets were missing. The person replied, “You didn't drive up to the 2nd window to get your nuggets”. I am not sure what kind of policy is in place that the nuggets had to be picked up at the 2nd window and the rest of the food is at the 1st. This makes no sense to me. The service was fast it was not correct. I would rather they spend the 30 seconds to make sure that my order is complete. Most people do not have time to return to the store to retrieve missing items. It is clear that this is a common occurrence especially when the food is served from different windows. They are probably making a lot of extra revenue confusing poor nuggets yearning consumers.

Being an experienced food service manager (20 years), I would recommend checking your order. It is not your fault that the order was incorrect, but if they could take 30 seconds more, then so could you. The problem with fast food is the "fast" part. When you take that many people and try to push them to get a 30 second drive through with fast, accurate service with a smile, you are bound to have mistakes. When your job at a fast food restuarant might be in jeopardy if your drive thru times are high, you might just push so fast that you make mistakes. The truth is that you deserve the service and accuracy when you visit these places. The employees are humans and make mistakes. For everyone that will answer this complaint with the rude comments toward the "low life" "uneducated" or similar descriptions of the workers, remember...if it wasn't for them, you would have to get up earlier and make your own food for the day.

Wendy’s animal abuse/negect

Answered ad in newspaper for Jack Russell puppies for sale. When I arrived I was shocked at the filth, the stench, these poor puppies (Six of them) were on top of one another in a small cage, all wet from urinating on each other. I am positive they were also defecating on each other from the stench. They had no food or water. Called police department, they could not help. Contacted Animal control officer left message. Julie Silva, officer, did go out following morning, Wendy, the owner would not let her in on the initial contact. Julie did get in that afternoon however by that time owner had cleaned things up a bit. Julie could do nothing to get the dogs out of that filth and stench, deplorable conditions. Wendy, owner, told me the dogs go from her house to her husbands home so there is no telling how many dogs are involved and suffering.

Buyer beware do not buy from this greedy, disgusting breeder.

if you expect me to pay 6.00 for a meal it would be nice to have the items in the bag that i paid for. i bought an apple pecan chicken salad and the pecans were not in the bag. i don't feel as though i am going to get back in my car to pick up what they left out; its on my lunch break, it cost more gas and an inconvenience. i should be refunded or given a credit for the item that was kept by wendys. give the customer what they pay for if you want them to continue to come to your establishment

Wendy’s product not delivered

I ordered the charging station at Wendy's on the 30.11.2009. For handling and shippment to Poland they charged me $69.98 . After placing the order I got information that delivery will be done between 15th - 31st of Dec. Of course during placing the order there was information stated that product is on stock and ready to be shipped. After 4 days (so already with delay) I got the shipment number - and then it turned out that the shippement was done through USPS and is not trackable. The package hasn't arrived till today. It turned out that it was shipped without the insurance ( I even didn't have the option to buy the insurance - and actually for the price of nearly 70 USD insurance should be included!). The shop charged me for the product that hasn't been delivered and doesn't want to refund money. They do not answer my emails.

I placed mid February an order with Wendy's Green House for watch box. Immediately received shipping details and good contact. Approximately 10 days after order and payment, I received the package at my address in Poland. Very well wrapped and protected, not a single scratch or anything else to complain about. I have both under and after been in e-mail contact with Wendy´s and prompt reply in any case. All in all, I rate this order, shipment, contact and delivery a 5 star experience.

Wendy’s awful place

Even though Wendy's calls Dublin, Ohio, home, and does alot of corporate waste in the Metro-Columbus, Ohio area? This was the LAST time I go to Wendy's! And, I have NO qualms what so ever about telling friends, family and co-workers to save their money and go any where but Wendy's!

And I live less than a mile from where today's fun adventure started!

My "experience" started with me pulling my car to the order speaker, (there was one car ahead of me and one behind me and maybe 2 or 3 cars in the parking lot--hardly what I'd consider busy at 1:26:07 PM!)knowing what I wanted and the order taker's ever so polite and warm greeting of "So, you gonna order or what?" Next, when I went to pay and had the same "gentleman" yell, " I don't do dishes!" rather than thank me as he handed me my change. At the next window, I was handed a small bag, and as I peered in I noticed no straw, and then turned back to the window where the young "lady" was shoving my drink into my car. I took the drink, opened the lid and noticed that this was NOT what I had ordered. (I've learned to check when ordering ice tea and asking for lemmon!) I handed the drink back and said that not only wasn't there any lemmon, there was barely any ice. Her response was they were "out" of lemmon? And then I watched her try and shovel a scoop of ice into a full drink. (Doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that ALL this was going to do was displace some liquid.) She handed me back a dripping and dribbling cup, and I shook my head in amazement as she then wanted to debate the point why I needed extra napkins? (Oh, I also had to show her the bag to convince her that I didn't have a straw! Thanks Cynthia!)

When I got home? My single with just oninons and ketchup? If you guessed this wasn't what I got? You'd win the prize! I got a sandwich dripping with mayo, mustard, pickles, a small piece of lettuce, a tomato and yes, there was an onion and a gallon of ketchup! The fried were ice cold in what hardly consituted a full container!

You bet I called! I was told at first, call back the manager was too busy to take a call? I stuck to my guns and ended up with a woman who was going to "tell me" about "my" experience? Shock and suprise when she told me to stop yelling, even though I maintained a very neutral tone in a normal speaking voice through out our "conversation" and when this was pointed out to her? Her response was that she could "now" understand me? And her response to my "great experience"? She offered me the free meal, and then hung up on me! So I suppose. anyone can go to this store and say that they'd called in about a meal that was screwed up on Sunday August 31, 2008 around 1pm, and get a free meal?

Guess I try and get a hold of the Hudson Street Columbus Ohio GM (who according to my sales slip is Tim Schoondard from Store #112) and give him a chance to explain his staff's less than stellar customer service and why on a long weekend, his produce order did not anticipate customers ordering ice tea and asking for lemmon with their tea? And then there's the issue of the slop on a bun. One would think that if the customer doesn't want the tomato and other goop, that there would be this policy somewhere that would connect the dots from less stuff translates to saving the company a penny or two here and there will add up and reduce waste? I guess that is another one of the contributing factors on why Wendy's has slipped in sales and why they were just bought out! (We won't even factor in how poor customer service has contributed to their fall!)

At this point? I don't want a free Wendy's meal! I want my $5.68 back!

And I am another that will never again go to Wendy's!

On several occasions I have been continually disappointed with the service of your Wendy's on rt 50 in Heidelburg, pa. Every time I go there there is a line around the drive thru and inside is usually even longer lines. This last time, I waited inside for a coffee because the drive thru was wrapped completely around the building. Jo one inside seemed concerned with speed or service. There were 4 different customers waiting simultaneously for their food for several minutes. All of the employees casually went thru the motions of their job. I even witnessed an employee leaning on the counter and eating candy while he could have been helping to expedite the situation. After waiting 10m inside, I gave up and took my chances with the drive thru. When I finally was served my item, I was also able to see inside the restaurant. There was food on the floors and everything was a mess. This may well be the last time I ever eat at this location.

Someone needs to retrain the management and the employes on how to run a restaurant. Speed and customer service do not seem to be important to this branch.

Ask at the counter for a double burger without cheese and they will gladly serve it to you. MOST Wendy's only list a double with cheese on their price board above the counter. They will CHARGE THE FULL PRICE but will verbally order to leave off the cheese. That's .25 theft from any unsuspecting patron. I have complained and some have changed the order to a single with an extra patty at the correct price. One in particular her in Charlotte, NC gets nasty. I have stopped eating there. I do know that other Wendy's do the same.

I have $30 worth of coupons for food from Wendy's. NO EXPIRATION DATE. Today they refused to accept them.
The manager said they stopped accepting them in January. THIS SHOULD BE AGAINST THE LAW.

I'm trying to get satisfaction There are bar codes on the back of these coupons. They were given as a Christimas gift, a year ago last Christmas. I always understood if there was no expiration date on a coupon it had to be accepted.

The manager of Wendy's s at Pasadena Florida needs to be advised he's wrong, and his company is stealing from me.

I agree, I had the experience of being in the Lobby at Wendys in riverview, fl. apparently they were having a manager meeting. the supervisor was so busy degrading her managers that she did not even notice that customers were staring. IF district supervisor is rude, disrespectful whatd more can you expect from the restaurant staff. The first time I witnessed this, I thought It was a one time occurrence, however I've witnessed it several times. It seems that Wendys encourages this from Top to bottom. I no longer go to this Wendys due to such experiences and tell everyone about.

As a past Wendy's manager, for a combo, cheese is no charge. As a sandwich, there is a double hamburger(no cheese). Interestingly, you can't add extra meat, so I think the people charging for an extra patty are the ones cheating you ( just making up a price, which is not posted)

It's possible the coupons aren't from Wendy's(they were counterfeit). It's also possible that particular Wendy's doesn't accept those coupons (Most coupons say at participating restaurants only). As a past Wendy's manager, I know we used to have gift certificates, but now you have to convert them to gift cards. So, it's possible that manager didn't know about the old gift certificates, misunderstood his boss telling him they no longer take them, or miscommunicated the situation to the customer. Last, its possible the complainant didn't see the expiration date.

Wendy’s Kathleen Kirkpatrick

I am tired of requesting "No Onions" on my burger only to get a burger with onions on it anyway. This is now the third time I'm getting through the drive through only to have to go in and show them, they've made my burger wrong again. I ordinarily only do fast food if it would make my day more convenient, but this Wendy's store makes that convenience impossible. IT's not that I can't eat onions, I actually quite like them. It's just that this Wendy's does not use fresh onions and the overwhelming smell and taste make my stomach churn. What's worse, when they "forget" to give me my burger without onions, that taste remains after removing the onions. I'm just saying that I say "no onions", I have them confirm "no onions", it says on the screen "no onions", I would expect to recieve a burger WITHOUT onions.

Wow, how do you survive? I admire your strength in the face of such adversity, girl. The fact you're able to post this message and spread the word that sometimes Wendy's puts onions on your burger when you ask for none has inspired me.

Wendy’s garabage in food

Take a look at the piece of garbage I received from the Wendy's located at 120th & Sheridan in Broomfield, CO. This was in a chicken nugget meal my 3 year old was eating. Fortunately, I caught it as she was telling me it was "Chewy". Doug Rich, an owner of the location said ""First, I want to assure you that we’re taking this problem very seriously, even, from my perspective, very personally. You are my guest, and not only did our product fail you, so did our people." The manufacturer OK Foods Inc., the manufacturer of the chicken nugget, and their representative John Schleupner would only ask for a piece of the garbage to see what it was. I still have no answer, even after I hacked a piece off and sent it to them. OK Foods Inc. insurance company, who I was quickly referred to, had this to say and I quote: "With reference to the above claim and as you are aware, I am the adjuster assigned to handle this claim, under the authority granted by OK Industries, Inc.
I spoke with you about your claim on 11/03/2009. You stated that your daughter, Xxxxx, found an object, which appears to be plastic, in a chicken nugget from Wendy’s. Your daughter chewed/bit into the object but sustained no injuries.
We have completed our investigation into your claim. Since there are no injuries or damages as a result of this incident, any claim for compensation is being denied on behalf of OK Foods.
You can contact me if you have any questions. If you have any other
information that you feel would make us reconsider our position, please forward to me. Otherwise, our file will be closed." Mike Murphy.
Only later to offer $500.00 under pressure from the Doug Rich, the store owner I spoke with. Are you going to eat at Wendy's?

Wendy’s cleaning practice poor

I ate lunch (well up until I saw the following) in Las Vegas at a Wendy's Restaurant near the intersection of West Charleston and Rainbow Dr on November 20, 2009. As I was eating at about 1:10pm, I happened to watch a member of the crew cleaning tables. With the same rag, this crew member first cleaned the outside top of the trash bins, then cleaned the seats on several chairs, then cleaned the tops of several tables. If someone's garbage touched the top of the trash bin, if someone came to the restaurant with dirty pants, then I was eating off a surface that had been wiped with the same material on the trash bin and the chair seats. I think it is time to re-think where I eat lunch.

Wendy’s food quality & taste

What happened to Wendy's? Today I had my worst meals ever in a fast food restaurant... This afternoon I tried some new boneless chicken wings at Orlando airport that were totally disgusting in taste and inacceptable in texture. Well I thought that was just a coincidence. After arrival in Philly I gave them a second chance and ordered a half-pounder plus fries in Malvern. Here it turned out that the beef was bloody-red and the fried utterly disgusting in taste - is it the oil that makes the fries taste like fish?
The last time I had eaten at Wendy's was a couple of years ago - back than Wendy's and Burger King were pretty comparable both quality- and tastewise. Now, I wouldn't recommend it even to my worst enemy...

Wendy’s soggy buns

I won't eat at Wendy's anymore, because no matter what type of sandwich me and my family order, the buns are always completely soggy and falling apart. It's disgusting. No one wants to eat a burger that's soggy and falling apart. This is the only fast food burger restaurant that this happens. I feel that Wendy's needs to find a new supplier for their buns, because I know that we will not eat there again. I've heard this complaint from other people as well.

Wendy’s quality/service

ad shows full slices of bacon. rec'd raw hamburger with 3 small half slices of bacon, baked potato was burnt and dry. Manager outside smoking with three other employees at 6 p.m., busy dinner time. young employee at register busy texting and looking around to see if anyone is catching her complaining of swollen glands and inability to swallow. The ad for the new bacon deluxe is false advertising, manager and front counter employee should be looking for a job. I won't go back! Quite disappointed with my undercooked hamburger and my over cooked potato. Value for money-poor. Service=poor!

That's awful but probably not true of all franchises. Go to Wendys.com and let corporate know about this particular restaurant. You'll probably get some coupons out of it to use at a franchise with better service and better food.

Wendy’s food quality

The food has gone completely downhill ever since Dave Thomas died. The fries are undercooked in a new oil that tastes more like oil and less like potatoes. The burger is loose and tastes frozen. The buns, in addition to having some new gritty stuff stuck to them, are hard and thick and all you can taste. On top of this, their prices keep going up. I used to go about twice a week, but now I don't go at all. They've gone from the best fast food out there to one of the worst.

I have been ordering Wendy's chili for years. I like the idea of it being somewhat healthy and affordable. Since prices of gas are rising, so are fast foods, which are understandable. I do not understand how they can water down food (chili) and expect to get away with it. The chili was at least 2 inches below the fill line and there was more water and spices in the chili than anything else. Barely any beans or meat...mostly water.

I can relate to this one. Maybe the employees don't need to be fired, how about educated on some CS?! I get overcharged all the time when I eat out. And yes, it is upsetting, esp. if you know how much it should cost i.e. you eat the same thing at the same restaurant each time. If my "partner" is with me, he always says "it's just a dollar, forget about it"?! But if they overcharge each customer by a dollar, that is a lot of profits :). Mistakes happen. Maybe you were PMSing?! Maybe it was the way you presented the issue?! They always say you get more with honey than you do with vinegar, which is true. But a lot of ppl in CS see it as simply a pay check, they don't realize the domino effect it has. I will not frequent a place if the service is lousy?! Why would I?! Market is too competitive?!

Wendy’s low quality food

I have worked in the fast food industry all my life. I am the wheel that keeps the engine running, I work for wendys restarants both franchise and corporate and since the new crew mostly hispanic I have seen things that makes me wonder why more people don't get sick ie I pay attention to people who prepare food for the public and I have seen that hand washing - cooking food completly, since I service the equipent that the public cannot see behind the lines I will not eat in my own companies restaurantsnglish where everthing is color coded to make food and I see some of the most grossly acts of food I am talking about from hand washing to removing chicken off the grill not completly cooked. One incident a freezer was done for 24 hours and the manager served food that should have been thrown away. Having mp;oyees that don't understand basic food safety and the equipment is so dirty I know that we need for all who work in these stores to unerdtand basic food safety but at wendys its speed of service at any cost since dave thomas passed I have seen a line that is very disstessing concerning wendys where they say qaulity is our motto this is not true and can be seen by the lack of sales prople trusted the old school now its how many produts can we sell at any cost. I would say that wendys has lost there foucus and if things don't change people will bet sick wenys arbys group will be a restarant of the past unless the consumer is aware of what they are eating and who OS preparing it just kids trying to mske s paycheck the problem is not titally there fault they come from a dirty country and I hate to see a great copany go down from where it a great place for good food now its eat at your own rise.

I currently work for Wendy's. When I get to work I wipe down everything, I dont care who did it before me. I believe the problem is in the store owner's. I worked my first day 9.30 hours with out a break. The next day was 11.30 hours no break. They are slave drivers. I keep throwing stuff away when the hold time it up, others don't. I don't like to work in a place where everyone speaks Spanish. I have had customers stop me and actually say Thanks for working in the drive thru, so they don't need a translator. I am white and I hold no prejudice to anyone but I find half of white, black, mexican, asian are rude to anyone they meet at our store. It's hard to go out on a limb for people, when your first interaction with them is hostile. If they followed the law and gave everyone their breaks like they are suppose too, all crew members would feel adquate as employees. I only took this job due to hard times and question myself eating out anywhere. The moral of the story is if you want something cooked right do it yourself. Watch out for all mexican crews, they don't wash hands and hold times are insignificant. They touch raw chicken then touch hamburger meat then make your sandwich without washing their hands.

Wendy’s management/unfair treatment

i am a current employee of our local miles city wendys working under EXTREMELY POOR management and conditions run by Dawn S. I would like to camplain about how ALL current and previous employees have been treated unfairly and with little to no respect im fed up with just taking it i would like something to be done as soon as possibe! working under the previous general manager Barb Griffin for a total of a year or more i had been treated EXTREMELY WELL! in personal experiance with total respect Dawn is a very POOR manager she lets her emotions get the best of her and in the way of how she runs her store if she is having a bad day she makes it known and makes sure everyone in her store suffers, not only does she make our work life a living hell she only favors one other person that would be her daughter kimberly cooper. i know from experiance that those who do not smoke do not get a break no matter what, i feel and know from our past management that employees that work eight hours get a thirty minute break but no with new management those who smoke get a break those who do not smoke take over positions for those who go out. but when nonsmokers ask for even a quick bathroom break they get the normal eye roller like its gonna kill her to take that position. i am so sick of being treated like this... . On sept 30 i asked for a week off after working there for a year i needed it off for family reasons after getting them approved my hours went from 40hrs to a one day single 5 yes 5 hour shift i did not miss type 5 i dont get my hours. during my jr year of hs i was working 40+ hrs a week when summer started i lost half the hours how messed up is that? why did they do this? well let me enlighten you, i had called in sick because i was sick! i then lost all of my hours i am paying rent and have a car payment making only 7.50$ an hour how can i keep my car and apartment on a thirty dollar check?!? i want you to fix it its not fair and i know that DAVE THOMAS WOULD FLIP IN HIS GRAVE IF HE KNEW ABOUT ANY OF IT HE BELIVED IN FAIRNESS AND WAS A BUSINESS MAN AND THIS IS NOT HOW YOU RUN ANY KIND OF BUSINESS! sinserly a pissed off employer.

Hi Britney,

I read your complaint about Wendys, you need a new job with a different company. I used to live in Glendive, and I worked for Eastern Montana Industries. I was a caregiver for disabled adults, it is a good job. The main office is in Miles City, and they have group homes there. This might be something to consider looking into. They also have a day program. I hope this helps, it sounds like you really need to get out of there. I hope everything works out for you. Peg

Wendy’s order is almost always wrong

I love the spicy chicken sandwhich with lettuce and tomato, but I hate Mayo. At least half the times I have ordered this sandwhich with no mayo, guess what? They put it on there any way! Today the girl repeated my order back to me - Spicy no mayo. Not only was there mayo today, they also threw on some sort of "cheese" to boot! It was pretty gross. I always go through the drive through and take it back to work so i really have no choice but to eat it... yuck!
