Well, Wal-Mart shoes are the absolute [censor] quality u can get, PERIOD!
WEAR A PAIR OF BUSTED RAGGEDY SHOES TO WALMART, try on the ones that are new at the store, lace them, take your time, because every employee in there in a clock-riding rif raf anyhow...when you're all done lacing up the new shoes on your feet, just slip the old ones under one of those benches that the shoe Dept has for you to sit on and try on shoes! Problem solved, OH and take THREE PAIRS of jeans into fitting room and put NEW ones on UNDER the pants you wore there, and walk out like you own the store, seriously I NEVER BUY shoes or pants from Walmart!
I figure they owe me that for all the times I got burned with their inferior quality junk!

NEVER BUY SHOES FROM WALMART EVEN IF THEY ARE NAME BRAND THEY WILL ALWAYS FALL APART YOU THINK YOU ARE GETTING A GOOD DEAL BECAUSE THEY USE CHEAPER AND LEFTOVER MATERIALS SO WALMART GETS THEM CHEAP

I purchased a pair of Ozark Trail boots for $30, back in 2008 when I was a poor student, so I would have some footwear for climbing Mt Shasta, in CA.
They are some of the most comfortable climbing boots I have ever worn.

I have since worn them on many other hikes both locally & as far afield as Alaska & New Zealand.
I've worn them for working in snow, driving heavy machinery, light construction work, clearing scrub, fishing, and as general footwear around town.
They're still holding together & are still waterproof all this time later. The only cause for concern is that there's a slight delaminate around the top of the rubber soul, where it meets the leather now. But after over 4 years, who can complain?!

Unbelievable.
Possibly the best $30 I've spent.

I was so impressed, I got my wife an identical pair.

Sorry this doesn't coincide with the other comments on here, but hey, sometimes you have to just say how it was for you.

Same as above Hiking Boot $39-plus I waterproofed 4 times over but didn't help when the sole splits - NO Rec - Don't Care - Will Return for Credit. Will go back to CAT Boots.

Yes I have had the same exact problem. The bottom of my shoe after one week completely cracked. They are my work shoes and I have to suffer with them because I can not afford to go get a 45.00 pair of shoes right now so my back and knees hurt. I will never buy this brand again, but try emailing the company good luck with that one.

My hubby had bought a pair of Ozark Trails back in March. they felt a little uncomfortable to wear by he managed to wear them up until just recently. just the other day, his mom had bought him some inner souls to place in his boots and guess what he found that made his feet so uncomfortable...he found steel shanks inserted in the boot! he was furious! and the steel shanks were rusty as well! we will NEVER EVER buy from Walmart again. I did in fact contact walmart immediately, spoke to the Asst' Manager and she refunded our money however, she just blew us off like nothing had happened!

Wal-Mart does sell the shoes, and mine (Tyrell model) had the same problem. Heel cup caved in on the left in less than a week, and now the right heel cup is failing along the centerline. But, when searching for Ozark Trail shoes, I'm not finding anything except Wal-Mart and additional hits on quality issues.
Don't have the receipt, but will see what Wal-Mart will say when I take them back; or if they can at least forward performance feedback to whoever makes these things back in China.
By the way, I tried on some Danners at a local store. Felt real good, and expensive as sin. But they were made in China, too! Wonder if New Balance makes hikers?

Buy Nike or New Balance...you could have bought a pair of great shoes for the price you've paid for the Walmart ones.
