Walgreens gift cards - ripped me off!!!

I purchased two dunkin donuts gift cards on 12/22/15. I got home to attach the gift cards to the receipts and noticed that the numbers on the back on my cards did not match the numbers on the receipts. I went back to the store and Megan said there was nothing they could do to rectify this. I spent $30 and she did NOTHING to try to help me. Now i am out 2 Christmas gifts for my daughter's kindergarten teachers for the morning and $30. I have 2 Unactivated gift cards that are garbage! I WILL NEVER SHOP AT A WALGREENS AGAIN AND WILL DEFINITELY SPREAD THE WORD!

Walgreens prescriptions not being filled

I have been treated bad by a specific Pharmacist, a Asian man, and his name is Manley. He has filled my prescriptions a lot, then 1 month, my doctor knew I had a bad month and put on my prescription to fill today, and it was a day early, on day 29. He filled it and gave me the run around and did NOT want to fill it, and told me he had to call my Doctor, and he finally filled it, and the next month I went in on day 30 to get my prescription, and he told me I got my pain medicine a day early the last month, and he said I had to wait to day 31. I had plans to go get help at my Moms out of town because I was having a bad month, and he would NOT fill them until day 31. So I went without my medicine for a day and a half almost. I got so bad sick, and couldn't get out of bed during the night and had to call my Mother to come up to my House and its a 3 hour drive. So instead of me going to her House in Birmingham, AL, he messed that up, got me sick, and she ended up having to come up here to help me out. She was so mad, and she ask what had happened and she is so mad at Walgreens and this Man, Manley, she is going to spread it around what has happened, and this same store, same man has done several other things to me, and don't have he time to explain on here, because I am spending my time on spreading it around on every webpage, Facebook, and any city site, and anywhere else I can spread the bad news . I also have been doing some investigating, and talked with a Pharmacist that works there Part time, and he told me that Walgreens is bad, and just the last time he worked there was a week ago, and the Manager told him to pick and choose who they deal with and fill for. A manager told him this, and he couldn't believe what he was hearing. He also works at Walmart and they do NOT do such a thing at Walmart. Like I said, this is not the first, second, or even third, it has happened to me at this same Walgreens over 10 times for some reason or another. I have been disabled and on Pain medicine since 1991, and if you add that up, that is around 25 years, and have NEVER had a problem with any other Pharmacy, or any other Pharmacist, and was treated like a drug addict or some common criminal. I hate this, and it is NOT right, and have never been in trouble with drugs, Pharmacy, or Pharmacist before in my life, and I am 52 years old, and I am NOT going to be treated like this, or this way that this Walgreens has treated me, and I have talked to several other people that has had very similar experiences at this Walgreens and also other Walgrens, and just knowing what I was told by the Pharmacist I spoke with, and Walgreens tells their employees to pick and choose who they deal with and fill for, is wrong. Especially when you are not doing anything wrong, and have been going to that Pharmacy since they opened, and that's been many many years ago, and no telling how much I have spent there, and Not adding up what my Insurances have spent these as well, and I want somebody to know, that I have spoke with Jeramy, The Manager there, and he knows whats going on and will NOT give me a direct answer on if he is part of this, and will he fill my medicine when I go there when he is there, because he is never there when I get my prescriptions filled. So I am letting the Corporate know this, because I am ongoing with my Investigation, and will be spreading the word as well, and trying to get several people up to go and speak with an Attorney on this matter. This will NOT be the end of this, and I hope that it is read by someone who takes this VERY SERIOUS, because it is, and you will hear more of me on this matter. I am going to get a hold of the DEA and have already read some, and need to keep reading on my Civil rights, because what I have read so far, I get out that they have already violated my Civil rights, and will be speaking to my OWN ATTORNEY on this one matter. GET PREPARED, You will hear more.

Walgreens the pharmacy

I would first like to say that may have spent close to 7500 dollars in money at Walgreens and that's out of pocket, with insurance I am sure it much more. The location in Lemont has a guy which I think his name is Tom, Tom has a stutter, which is NO problem for me. What is a problem is absolute ZERO customer service. He has several times told me (out of sheer laziness) that my scripts are not in the system though every other walgreens can see them. Because of this I am forced to drive 25 miles to a different walgreens because this LAZY employee refuses to do his job. He has treated me so poorly that I am ready to move on to Jewel or some other Pharmacy and be done with this rude service. He is a very hurtful person, he breaks Hippa laws by announcing what medicine I am taking OUT LOUD for strangers and sometimes neighbors to hear. This guy needs to be dealt with. He is not happy working there and it clearly shows in his performance and pure disregard for laws. Please look into this. He is at the LEmont IL location on 127th street. He can not be mistaken for anyone else as he has a very bad stutter

Walgreens pharmacy/management reluctance to provide a timely customer telephone answering service

Chronic telephone disservice to a long time pharmacy customer like me who had on several occasions in the past and most recently today around noonish.I followed automated instructions to reach pharmacy to enquire about the prescription status. After many minutes and repeated cycles of listening to the music, telephone rings, occ.human voice, again and again put on hold, music, telephone rings for almost 1/2 an hour. The assistant manager on duty was requested to come on line for me to complain x 3/times put on hold with repeated cycles as described above.Ms.Kelly Smith smith asked me not to complain, but I told her this is always a chronic problem to me, dont know if my accent, nationalty looks or color of the skin makes employees treat me like this or what.I am curious to know if similar problem with the staff is experienced by other persons who fit my similar pronunciation, nationality, or color of the skin .This is a serious complaint and expect immediate action and if not more takes place.Hire some friendly dedicated and sincere staff members to help your loyal customers.Staff knows who I am, and I am looking forward to hear thru tham in the nesr future.

Walgreens john frieda precision foam colour

I purchased this product at Walgreen's in Port Orange FL. I love the foam treatment's! Your product was the only foam colour they had. I didn't want to spend that much but I gave it a try. Buy the price I thought it would be amazing! I thought wrong unfortunately. I coloured my hair, following the directions of course. I have gray hairs so I left it on for the extra time. After rinsing and conditioning properly...after drying naturally... I am not believing that I see tons of Gray Hair :(. Very disappointed. I would appreciate a full refund.

Walgreens unethical employee terminations

I was an employee of Walgreens for 5 years and never had any problems until I got moved to a store with a sexist manager. I was only there for 5 months before they found some bogus reason to fire me, which was interestingly after a worker's comp claim I filed for being injured on the job. I filed a complaint with the EEOC for discrimination and wrongful termination. When I went to mediate they just sent a lawyer to see how much it would cost to keep me quiet. The offered to pay me my vacation and sick time regardless of whether or not we settled, but of course that didn't happen. They tried to offer me a few thousand to keep my mouth shut, but I refused. This company is disgusting in the way they try to ruin people's work reputations and lives. I wish we could get them shut down. Their loss prevention intimidation tactics and accusations with no evidence are inexcusable. I received a check from where they settled a class action lawsuit against female managers while I was employed. Unfortunately this notorious behavior is still going on and needs to be stopped.

Walgreens pharmacy - need information to file claims for charges to insurance company

11-12-15 - 7 :20 - Due to Walgreen not recording my BCBS number correctly i have been paying for my prescriptions. A month or so i was speaking with one of the employees and he asked to see my card and that is when we found the error. He fixed and told me to get the Prescription Profile and file the claims. Per the claim I need the NPI number. I had no problem with one of the two Walgreen's I do business with. I called they gave it to me and i filed the claim from their store. This evening I go to the Cabarrus Ave store and the female behind the counter told me she could not give it to me and showed no interest in why i needed it. She then ignored me and the other employee who was trying to help. I asked for a manager and Alisha [protected] came and spoke to the rude female who proceeded to tell her I could not have the number and Alisha followed what she was told. So now what do I do. BCBS requires it and your employee refused to give it. This should not have been this hard to get a number that obviously is required. Nor should I have been treated like I am nobody. I am a paying customer and have been with Walgreens for many years. I drive past 2 other large Pharmacy's that would love my business but I stay with Walgreens. I need the NPI number or a letter from Walgreens stating they do not issue out the number from this store since obviously the rule does not apply at all locations. Thank you.

Walgreens nelly in pharmacy

Oct 25 @ 2:32pm. I called to inquire if this store carried a product. I was sent to pharmacy first. Told I had the wrong dept. Sent somewhere else, put on hold, sent to another, put on hold. Sent to pharmacy and spoke to Nelly. She said she had other customers, that she was busy. I told her what had happened and she then HUNG UP on me. Is this WALGREENs policy on how to treat customers? Your store is convenient to my home but this is the worst rude behavior. If this was done to you what resolution would you want?

Walgreens pharmacy

First off they cannot get the correct item-I get my testosterone after they order it (they rarely have it in stock-testosterone! not some rare item) then they order needles rather then the syringe the doctor orders but I have to wait a second time, then they get it half right and I get the 23G syringe but it cannot draw up the testosterone-I require a 21G but that has to be ordered so after about 4 weeks I go in to pick up another item and they say "the syringes did not come and we are busy so maybe it is in another box" so I remember I ran out of Eliquis a blood thinner so I go in to get that and I hope the syringe-wrong! The tech smiles and says "maybe next week" I am out now over a month of my needed hormone and he is smiling so after I tell him my name for the 6th time in a couple of weeks and three times within a week, he is about to hand me the script for my Eliquis and smiles and asks me my full address-I say "are you kidding me? you know me!" I am fuming and say "dont be a d---k" and he walks away-mind you I am out of medication and have AFIB and he is playing freaking games-the other tech comes and I kowtow and tell her what she already knows and I get my $150 copay drug-I am done with this firm who has to order rather then stock and only orders once or twice a week while in NYC my other pharmacy orders twice daily!

Walgreens unethical behavior

On 10/09/15 I went to get my prescription refill for Lyrica 100mg 3 at bedtime. I was told that they could not refill it until the next day because it is a controlled substance and insurance would not allow it. I only had 1 pill to take that night and I knew from past experience that missing my full dose would cause extreme anxiety and agitation. A couple of months ago my Grandfather passed away and I was very upset that night and accidentally took all my medications that night twice. It was an unfortunate mistake. I was short at the end of that month and spoke to the pharmacist on staff who told me to take two Lyrica during the day and then the three like normal that night to get it built back up in my system. I even voiced my concern about taking that much Lyrica in one day and he said I would be fine, and I was. Then I get to the end of this month and again I'm short on the last day of month. I asked the pharmacist for a solution, to this problem, of not having enough medication on the last night of my prescription. She said "I can not refill your prescription because you are taking more than is prescribed." That is not what I was asking her to do. I asked her if my Doctor could call in a prescription for two pills for that night. She told me no she would not fill it because I took more than was prescribed and that maybe "we" need to have a talk with my doctor to have my medication changed or adjust my dose if I'm having withdrawals from missing one full dose. What? She has no idea what I've been through looking for something that actually works and I do not need to adjust my dose. When I take the three as prescribed each night it works fine. She also scolded me for taking 5 Lyrica in one day even though it was a pharmacist on staff there who told me to do it! I called a different location and asked the same question. Is there anything I can do to break this cycle and without hesitation she said yes. Have your doctor call in a new prescription adjusting your dose for a couple of days to make up for the two pills I needed to get back on track. That easy! Except that my doctor's office was now closed. I have no choice but to ride it out today but had to cancel all my plans because I can't function. I did not appreciate that pharmacist's tone of voice and overall demeanor. She made a decision that should have been at my doctors discretion and made me feel like a drug addict. My body is physically dependent but I'm not an addict. Matter of fact, I had to be talked into taking Lyrica to begin with. There was a lot more said by both of us but bottom line is that she missed an opportunity to help a customer solve a problem and chose not to.

When I went to pick up my prescription the same woman was working that I had exchanged words with the day before. It was a little sticky at first but in the end she apologized for the way she made me feel and I apologized for my reaction. She also offered a solution going forward. Couldn't ask for more!

I'm in Texas and the Walgreens out here are very rude as well. Hopefully they will go out of business in the near future. I absolutely refuse to step into any Walgreens for anything. But if I have to, they best watch their ways because I now have a lawyer comping at the bits and I will have no problems letting him off the leash.

I am not sure when you posted this, but the Brentwood Missouri store had VERY obvious racism among b&w's It stemmed from the manager Ricardo and the rest of the black people (except one) were very unhelpful, would not back up the whites when they needed two cashiers, etc. I have a friend who worked for 13 years all days and all hours. Her professionalism included remembering people's names, kids names who was sick with what and wished them to feel better. After 13 years this woman took the first vacation and left town. Right when she arrived at her destination, she received a phone call that her son was dead. She turned the car around and drove straight through, probably some speeding, but she held her emotions in check to focus on the road. 6 weeks later Ricardo fired her for groundless accusations. WALGREEN EVERY WHERE are miserable. Go to CVS where you have friends that are are on the ball, ready and willing to back each other up and have no racial hostilities. It was that Brentwood Missouri Manager Ricardo who--yes--got promoted--and my friend was fired. We filed an EEOC charge of racism--but Walgreens dragged it's heels had nothing to say. They pulled out some minor detail about the time my friend was falling apart over her dead son.

Walgreens rude and unappropriate customer service

Pam (I think) at Walgreen's store on the intersection of Irving Park and Pulaski. This particular employee is very rude and sarcastic and has a habit of speaking to people in a manner that is very unprofessional. He also lies and makes lots of mistakes on the cash register and says that there is no mistake when in fact the is causing customers to have to make unnecessary trips back to the pharmacy when in fact customers can make their purchase that day. I gave lots of chances to this employee because after all every store is different and with different personality employees but today I went in to purchase something that was on sale and this employee keeps displaying the same unappropriated behavior.

Walgreens service

On 9/24/2015, I was profiled by two Walgreens workers. They approached me and asked if I had placed unpurchased toothpaste in my shopping bag. I told them no and gave them permission to check the bag, to which they declined. I brushed it off and proceeded to shop. When I stood in line to pay for my items, one of the employees approached me again and was more belligerent. He said, "Ma'am, you can take the toothpaste out of your bag." I responded, "Huh?" He kept badgering me, "We saw you take it. You're on camera and 12 eyes seen you take it." I showed him my bag which at that point had my personal items, including a used tube of Jergens lotion. I asked, "Is this what you saw me put in my bag and thought was toothpaste?" He checked it and the cashier attempted to scan it, in case I had stolen it. Mind you, it was a mostly used tube of lotion. Afterwards I demanded a manager, and demanded to see this video with me stealing toothpaste. The employee mumbled and walked away. He said something like, "I'm off soon." He also apologized, but only because I demanded it. The manager came out and was cordial but not helpful. He said he was going to rectify the situation and kept apologizing that I had to experience such treatment. But nothing else happened. I asked for a business card, but he didn't have one to give me. He wrote a phone number on a piece of paper. I asked for their names and wrote them down too.

I was humiliated in front of other customers in the store and pretty shaken up. Never will I return to this Walgreens.

Walgreens shoplifting and security for customers and employees

An incident occurred while I was checking out at my local Walgreens at Abrams and Royal in Dallas, TX, September 8, 2015 that I would like to share.

The person in front of me did not pay for her items after they were scanned and placed into a bag, but instead calmly walked out the door and on to her car that was parked in clear view of the front door. I took her license number and gave it to the clerk who told me that there was nothing they could do and that it happens all day. He said the police will not come because it is a misdemeanor crime. But, a crime, yes, I told him and that by allowing it to continue with no consequences, Walgreen's is encouraging it to continue.

Another employee who over heard this conversation said that she wished I would tell the manager what I had just said because they witness this behavior all day long and there is nothing they can do. She said I would not believe what they have to put up from the residents in the apartments across the street coming over drunk or on drugs to harass the employees and to steal.

I spoke to the manager and his response was less than reassuring that he had things under control and that his store is a safe place to shop. I have a reasonable expectation that when I enter the store that I am safe and Walgreens has a duty to provide a safe environment for both shoppers and employees. I understand when he said that the employees are instructed by Corporate for their own safety not to try to pursue or apprehend shoplifters. I asked if security guards would discourage this behavior and was told that they are not able to do anything either. Then I asked about hiring off-duty Dallas police and the manager said that it was too expensive.

All during this, the manager smiled as he assured me that this is just the way it is now and that things are even worse in the 24 hour Walgreen's stores. My question is do I choose another Walgreens where I feel safer or if this a corporate-wide policy to condone this behavior, do I take my business elsewhere. I have lived in this nice neighborhood (except for apartments near this store) since 1982 and shopped exclusively at this Walgreens for my prescriptions since it opened. So, just shoplifting today, yes. That sets the tone for the store and sends the message that this is a store where you can go and take whatever you want. To the neighborhood, it sends the message that this is not a safe store where if shoplifting is allowed with no consequences and that more serious crimes may be a possibility in the future and best to stay away. Then we lose control of our neighborhood Walgreens and the bad element wins.

After reading other complaints and comments, it seems that Walgreens does not care and is not a safe place to shop. We can leave and take our business elsewhere and just leave it with the thieves who are free to take whatever they need. Or we, the paying customers, can organize and demand security.

Walgreens rudeness

Hello,

I would like to report a pharmacy worker by the name of James (I think) at Walgreen's store #11011. This particular employee is very rude and sarcastic and has a habit of speaking to people in a manner that is very unprofessional. He also lies and says that prescriptions are not ready when in fact they are causing customers to have to make unnecessary trips back to the pharmacy when in fact they could have just picked up their prescripctions that day. I ended up having to take my prescription to CVS to be filled because I got sick of his rude and condescending attitude. If in fact he does not like his job then maybe he should quit. I for one will not miss him.

Walgreens defamation, lying, anti-semitism

After filing a complaint on a pharmacy manager (Isaac Smith @10196 66th St N, Pinellas Park, FL 33782) for calling the cops on me for asking why he suddenly felt "uncomfortable filling my prescriptions" but never felt that way during the unfortunate time I had to self pay for many many months. I could immediately put two and two together and tell it was due to the fact that I no longer had to self pay with cash for a very expensive medication (I qualified for a year supply paid for by the manufacturer) I knew it was due to the fact that I was no longer pumping his pharmacy with well over $900 each month! So I end up talking to investigators which told me they would do what they can to remove the trespass and recommend another near by location for me to shop @ (7751 49th St. Pinellas Park, Florida 33781) So on the afternoon of July 29th 2015 I stopped at the location to drop my prescription off after noticing Walgreens had better prices than CVS.. After pulling into the drive through and handing over my ID and prescription I'm asked "are you Adrian B... (he could not pronounce my last name which is okay, it happens) I said "Yes sir" he goes on a rant saying "Im not filling this prescription, dont come back here" ...I asked why?! He goes on to tell me "because you're a bad person".. I pull away confused and I go inside to figure out if this is some joke or misunderstanding just to be further insulted by the same guy (Brian Tapley, Pharm. Manager) he goes on to tell me about how I'm a bad person due to my complaint I filed against his friend (Isaac Smith, nearby Walgreens Pharm. manager) clearly there is discrimination and gossip going on, also defamation of character since there were numerous customers watching this charade go down in shock, I said okay fine you don't want or have to fill my prescription or answer questions about an Epi-pen that was purchased from this location... I proceed to purchase two bottles of water which he refused to ring up for me and said "you're not my customer" I told him thats not his choice you dont get to pick and chose your customers and he laughs at me and says "I don't want you as my customer" and that he "Doesn't want to help me at all" he continued to rant and said that he will be calling the cops to remove me from the store if I did not leave immediately.. the store manager watched all of this go down in clear shock as to what the Pharmacy manager just said to me...she asked a customer she was assisting to please wait so she could come around the corner and ring me up for the water and apologized for the insulting, defaming charade I had just dealt with! I have no idea what to do besides file a complaint through Walgreens, which got me no where the first time I was discriminated without being told why because "he did not have to tell me why" -- said the Police. So besides Walgreens employees gossiping and spreading the word that I file complaints on people that discriminate and share confidential information with mutual friends. What type of lawyer should I hire to make sure this actually gets through to Walgreens that their employees cannot treat customers this way...Obviously they don't keep tabs on their employees nor enforce their promises & policies. Luckily if anyone does not believe me I audio recorded the entire thing with my phone, from Brian Tapley admitting he did not want to help me because of a complaint I made against a store manager down the road to "You're not my customer" and "I don't want you as my customer" all the way to how he would not ring me up for two bottles of water and threatened to call the Police and have me removed from the store if I did not leave 'his store' on top of it all he also made a very antisemitic remark after I said I'm going to put every shekel I got into exposing your unprofessional behavior... What should I do, I know nothing besides being told "Sorry by the Walgreens local investigators, my father when back the next day at noon on the 30th of July and tried to hand over my prescription for me since "I'm a bad person" but the staff were clearly told to not deal with my family I assume and refused to take the prescription from my father... I guess they think he's a bad person as well. I'm very upset and unhappy with the defamation of character, lies and overall lack of unprofessional-ism..I have never encountered such an experience in my life, nor has my father.

Luckily I had it all audio recorded so should I post this on the internet? To show how Walgreens likes to treat their customers? How can a corporation treat its customer in such fashion? This is not right and I will do whatever is needed to make sure this does not happen to another victimized customer of theirs.

Excuse my lack of proper literary skills. I'm still very frustrated about this whole situation and the fact that I was FORCED to go to CVS and pay higher prices, drive much further etc.

If anyone knows of a lawyer in Florida that would handle this for me, please let me know! Thanks in advance.

Walgreens unpaid labor

I will admit that I made a mistake by walking out of my job but they told me I could work at night or I could not work for them. On night I saw them treat a transgendered customer like a bag of meat so I left work and never came back. They have refused to pay me for the work I did and even though at most it's a couple hundred dollars I think I deserve to be paid.

Walgreens inappropiate pharmacy customer service

I was visiting in Florida where my elderly parents reside and need my assistance with daily activities. I was recently awarded SSD by the state of New York due to Systemic Lupus, depression, ADHD, and 3 back issues causing chronic pain. On July 7, 2015 at 9:30 am, I needed one valid prescription filled named Adderall 10mg provided by my NY Psychiatrist . I contacted my Health insurer to locate a pharmacy which carries the mentioned medication since I reside in New York. I pursued my health carriers advise by visiting a local pharmacy, Walgreens, located at 605 S Pinellas Avenue, Tarpon Springs, FL. The attending Pharmacist named "Two" (no last name) refused to filled the Adderall 10mg at first when she spotted the Klonopin and Xanax dispensed by Publix and said she decides a "Red Flag" due to the nature of the 3 medications as being Scheduled. I have had no marks on my long term medication record as being a prescription drug abuser. When she explored my prescription background in Florida, she discovered I filled Klonopin .5mg QID and Xanax, recently, designed at night for sleep issues due to the depression with the dosage of .5 mg TID at filled at Publix around 3 week prior. She questioned why I did not fill the Adderall at the Publix pharmacy along with the Adderall .My response to this verbally abusive Pharmacist, Two, was Publix DOES NOT CARRY Adderall and would not dispense my valid request. She continued by expressing, "She will not tolerate this re: 3 scheduled medication's together, formulated a conclusion that I some how was abusing these drugs by not filling all scripts in 1 pharmacy. I insisted Publix DID NOT and never will carry Adderall so I simply filled the 2 Benzo's at Publix and go elsewhere to fill my Adderall. She said she would contact my doctor for confirmation. I waited from 9:30 to 11:00 am, sitting there watching all customers being treated all so very respectful, quick service. At 11:00, I asked about the status of my pending script as my elderly parents were waiting to be picked up in New Port Richey on a very hot 90 degree day. (Mom is 82 and Dad is 88 with Alzheimer's) and the rude pharmacy tech stated, WE ARE WAITING FOR MY NY DOCTOR TO CONFIRM all 3 medications were valid. I left and picked up my parents and went back to pick up my ADDERALL at 2:30 (From start to finish, this took 5 hours)
My 1st complaint as follows:
1. As being a 58 y/o woman, I felt the entire staff, mostly the attending pharmacist, disrespected me by talking loud so other customers could hear indicating I had a drug problem that she does not "TOLERATE" this kind of prescribing indicating I was a drug seeker.
2. Upon pick up of my script at 2:30 pm and the approval from my Psychiatrist, the dispensing pharmacist repeated at least 5 times this is not tolerated, made me feel absolutely disrespected, ashamed, and down right angry.
I would like this formal complaint to be heard as defamation of character, accusatory of alleged drug abuse. I firmly believe I was pick out, disgraced and had an extremely poor experience with this Pharmacist. I will further this complaint by requesting her dismissal from Walgreens located in Tarpon Springs. Lastly, I do also believe Walgreens is the absolute worst pharmacy in the USA..

Walgreens balance rewards & refunds

I've been collecting Balance Rewards for quite a while. You know, Walgreens Drugs "point system." I finally had over $35. worth of points. So I went in last week, and bought quite a few things, including a Pulse Oximeter, which was $49. itself. My total order was $117., and I paid for it with $82. cash and $35. in points.

Well, I got home, and the Pulse Oximeter didn't work. I went to return it, trusty receipt in hand. The cashier asked if I wanted another one, and I told her I did not. She then began to process the return and told me that since I'd used points for part of the payment, I'd be getting a gift card to Walgreens for $35., and cash for the difference, $19.04 ($15. + $4.05 tax). I complained strenuously, but not rudely, saying I'd paid for most of my purchase with cash, and I wanted cash in return. The manager came and said that because I had used the points for "part of my purchase, " regardless of how much I spent, the policy was that they couldn't give me cash for the amount of the points. I tried to explain that I didn't want cash for the points, but for part of the cash that I'd spent, which was almost twice as much as the points redeemed. The manager wouldn't budge.

When I came home I looked at the terms and conditions for balance rewards, and it doesn't specifically state this. It says nothing about combination purchases of items with points and cash. The manager evidentally made up the "policy" he enforced.

It appears that if you are redeeming Walgreens Balance Points, you do best to keep any items purchased that way separate from any other items you purchase. Don't mingle them, or you may get caught the way I did.
