Our verdict: With Walgreens's very poor resolution rate, careful consideration is needed. Research their service comprehensively, and read up on how they handle customer disputes. Walgreens automated system refill failure

Customer service at Walgreens has turned into a complete failure since they implemented the automated nationwide numbers for refills and you can longer speak -if needed- to the local pharmacist technician manning the store. When they had the prescription orderering/refill process being handled locally at the store, there were NEVER any service issues or errors. Now, you call in a refill request, get a confirmation for it, and when you show up at the store to pick up the prescription refill, they have no record of it! No matter how many times I have complained about this problem, nobody does anything -not even the so-called "supervisors", and the problem continues to persist as they have no clue -or no competent techical support- as to how to correct the issue. And if you do not want your medication on auto-refill... good luck - no matter how many times you tell them you don't want them on auto refill, the system will bump it back to auto refill status! They have spent millions renovating stores, they even sell apples and bananas, and now their pharmacists get to play "receptionist" in the front desk! A complete disgrace!

Walgreens prescription refills

I had a new prescription for Klonopin written by my psychiatrist. The Walgreen's pharmacist refused to fill it since it had been less than 30 days since I had filled my old Klonopin prescription. I am not an insurance patient. I pay cash for all my prescriptions. This is not right. My doctor is aware of this. That's why he wrote me a new prescription so there wouldn't be a problem. I am seeing similar complaints on this site about Walgreen's. I can understand if it was an insurance regulation. But if I am paying cash and have a valid new prescription from my doctor, they should not refuse to fill it. I am done with Walgreen's. I have filled there for the past 5 years and probably spend $150 per month out of pocket. I know they won't miss my business but I will never return to a Walgreen's to fill prescriptions again. A pharmacy degree does not give one license to overrule a valid prescription from my doctor when I am a cash patient. Goodbye Walgreens.

Walgreens medication not ready

My name is Victor Gonzales Phone number [protected]... I called in my Medications in last night and was told that medications would be available for pick up today at 8:00 am. Now before going to pick up medications, i called and spoke to a representative in the pharmacy and was told that my medications would be available at 11:00 am. Well when i went in to pick up medications i was told that no one called or came in to work in the pharmacy ant the only employee that was working behind the pharmacy was one only one and he said that he had a huge list of prescriptions to fill and that he was behind due to lack of employees in pharmacy assisting and helping... Now i Think that having to go through this just to get my Medications that i need is a waste of my time, my money and gas because now i have to return and pick up my medications at 12:30 pm and my flight to wyoming now had to be cancelled for tomorrow To go work. i have a time schedule just like everyone else does and this is not the way to keep a 7 year customer!

Walgreens assault by staff

The title about says it all. Just to be clear, no party is disputing the facts here. The manager is "claiming" that I pushed him and did so after I told him I would be making corporate complaint and taking the incident to the web. The surveillance video mysteriously vanished until the Court compelled it to be provided. 7 months later...it was. I am now filing suit against Walgreens for wrongful arrest, defamation, and attorney's fees. I am seeking any advice as this is my first time actually "doing something about it" when I have been wronged in life. The situation has devastated my family and business and it can not be "let go".

Here is a summary of the incident and the link to the video. Please give me any advice you have to offer:

It started because I woke up to the cats screaming for food. We were at the hotel and I went to get cat food. When I went in I noticed that the Mt. Dew was marked up from the day before and also (on sale). They were raising prices to negate manufacturer sales.

I approached the Manager and told him that I was tired of the "pricing games" they were playing and he said, "I don't think you should come into my store and tell me how to run it". I said, "Excuse me, I buy a case of Mt Dew from your store every day or 2. I think you are the Manager, and I do have a right to express my feelings to you as a consumer of that product from your store". I then asked for his name and corporate number and he told me to leave the store.

I threw the 2 cans of cat food on the ground and said, "F you and your store, I'll be sure the web knows about your pricing games". I then left the store and the camera caught the rest. I have other camera angles as well to support everything I just said (excluding audio).

Walgreens employee behavior

Went to pharmacy at 10:30 this evening. Home with 3 sick kids and husband is out of town so in a hurry as neighbor watching kids briefly. On phone with husband while I was waiting in line due to husband out with clients until late and trip to Walgreens first chance I had to speak to him all day. Pharmacy tech passed over me/did not wait on me. When I asked him if he was ready for me he stated that he did not assist people speaking on the telephone because it was rude. When I got off the telephone, he rang me up for the incorrect amount on my prescription because the pharmacy had failed to apply the walgreens pharmacy benefits that I purchased after having showed them the walgreens pharmacy as well as my blue cross insurance cards when dropping of the prescription.

Walgreens filling prescriptions

The new prescription laws and issues in Florida have made it next to impossible to get my legitimate prescriptions filled when I need them. I take Endocet 10/325. In the last year I have had to drive around to over twenty pharmacies give or take each month to see if anyone has my prescription. It is always a toss up as to how I will be treated by the Pharmacy. Some are very helpful and explain that the medications are on back order and difficult to get. I have heard numerous stories...The drug is being discontinued, I can't fill it in another city, it's too soon (my Insurance says I should be able to fill it 10 days before exp.), etc etc.

Walgreeens is the WORST! I was told today I could not fill both my prescriptions together due to their strengths or amount or who knows because it really wasn't explained to me. Walgreens seems to have a different rule or issue every time I go. So now we have the Pharmacists deciding they are my Doctor and can tell me what I can or can't take. The person through the drive through took no time to explain why my prescription could not be filled and gave me an attitude. What rights do consumers have anymore when trying to fill their medications? Why are we treated like dirt. I cannot look at someone and decide what pain or health issues they may be suffering. Walgreens treated me today with zero empathy and assistance. I am beyond disgusted with this system.

The new laws are ultimately hurting the people who need their pain medications. The drug dealers will be making a killing now on other things and pills that we cant even get at our pharmacy, fake things, or dangerous drugs. Idiocy as usual. The dealers will move on to something else. Are the Pharmacies and Government agencies implementing all these tougher regulations so out of touch with reality that they don't realize they are going to have some people who are in pain turn to illicit means to reach out for some kind of relief. Today after spending all day looking for a pharmacy that could fill my prescription I had the thought it would be easier to try and get something off the street. Which I wouldn't do but I did have that thought! They let the pill mills get so out of hand while they were making up Bath Salt BS or whatever would give them good press that now we all suffer.

My main complaint is that Walgreens seemed to decide that I could not fill both of my prescriptions. I was treated like garbage, talked down to and given the brush off. I spoke with other Pharmacists at Target and Walmart and said there would be no problem filling both my scripts if they had them in stock. Walgreens is a disgrace to the medical community and should have their pharmacy license revoked. So if Walgreens Pharmacists are going to be in the position of ultimate superiority over my Doctor I demand they have the education to back that up or otherwise respect what my Doctor has prescribed and continue doing that tough job of putting pills in bottles. I respect my doctor but have zero respect for pharmacists who think they know better than my Doctor and act superior because of the power they wield over my health. They are causing damage to people and someone will die due to their neglect and negligence. I do plan on taking this further. Found this information online:

Recently a
paralyzed friend of mine was denied. It was a new pharmacist at the Walgreens he's filled with for years. He sad the pharmacist had a problem with the fact he always came through the drive through. he had help getting down and rolled in his wheel chair. The pharmacist said he didn't have to explain why he was denied and continued refusing him. He asked for extra help getting back into his vehicle but no part of Walgreen's staff offered assistance. As of now he's painfully awaiting his next doctor appointment to get help from his physician. I'm wondering if there are any attorneys interested. In taking up a suit against the Walgreen's Corp.

I agree something has to change. If you have been going to the pharmacy for at least a few years. The sick hurt and chronic pain victims are being treated like criminals now.No one asked to have cancer.be disabled.or almost die from a car accident .or burn victims. This is the United States the greatest country and if we can not give aid and help those in chronic pain and suffering we need to look at human rights to live pain free to the best of our ability. No one asked to get cancer, or be a burn victom, car accidents, 's lupus, SPINAL INJURIES and the list goes on.We do ask to be treated with respect at the pharmacies and obtain the needed medicine that is helps us live daily.what if you had one of the above medical conditions? AS THE SAYING GOES, until you've walked a mile in my shoes. Imagine not walking without your medicine. HOW WOULD YOU ?

Why driving around to over 20 pharmacies? I'm in the same situation.Bringing disabled and suffer from chronic pain with several painful medical condition. To make it short all but 4 disks from neck down are herniated or bulging from a hit and run car accident. Arthritis, all symptoms of MS.Scoliosis, altered neck.neuropathy.painful cyst growing in Mabel never I.and the pain goes on.Walgreen has the nerve not to fill controlled medicine. This has been the same medicine I have been and receiving from Walgreenss for years.I It is extremely difficult when in chronic painr to have to go daily to try to find your medicine."Last month I could not find my pain medicine in stock until 13 days after my fill date. This is going to put more people in the hospital.UNable to walk.sleep.move due to crying and the pain.Walgreen now tells you unless you filled the script at there location within the last three months they consider you a new client and won't fill the pain medicine Now let me tell you this is the same Walgreens I've been going to for years and am in the system .It is the new staff members also I have noticed. It is not the cancer patient or the innocent disabled that are crying in pain everyday.it is not my fault Walgreens did not have medicine in to fill my script and told me to check the other stores. Then now a new pharmacist works there after all these years and says oh well we haven t filled this here in 3 months your out of luck. What type of help is that. This has been a nightmare of pain and suffering and this makes it worse .I even had this one Walgreens woman maybe right out of school tell me how she doesn't want to loose her job. This girl in front of everyone asking why I am on the pain medicine. And I asked her if she was a doctor. This is terrible.she was rude.and asking very personal questions.I was traumatized after the way she talked .I told her some of my issues and she said she wants medical records from the doctor.Nowadays on a Friday so again that meansnotgetting medicine on time.Every time she is there I have to listen to her tell me she doesn't want to loose her job.She has only been there for 5 months and I've been filling scripts there for a few years. She is not any one of the doctors .specialist or hospital that even treat me or wrote my scripts. These students need to get another job as so
Some one in chronic pain does Not want to hear that when we are crying in pain.Who is she she is about 24 and not a doctor or hospital. This has been extremely difficult and if you have MS can cause a relapse.Something has to change.Carrie

I have been diagnosis with chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and had multiple surgeries from automotive accidents. I recently had a total hysterectomy. Everyday I suffer from debilitating pain to the point I can't walk and can't sleep through the night. I have been seeing a pain management specialist for close to 20 years, over the last year, I have had continued problems getting the pain medications oxycodone filled.Walgreen's uses lame excuses any where from we don't have it in stock to a violation of the "good faith policy". Yet, when asked about what is the “good faith policy”, they refuse to give me any paperwork to explain what the policy is in detail. I have been 100% disabled since 1998. . Walgreen's has given both me and my husband grief sending us to multiple pharmacies. I can only hope something is done. I believe because I am on a limited income and was forced to move the majority of my maintenance medications; Walgreen’s removed me from their cliental list. Since mail order does not fill narcotics in Florida. Walgreen’s refused to fill the remainder of my pain medications.
I can only hope Walgreen’s gets into severe trouble. I recently heard that a local Walgreen’s filled multiple orders of oxycodone for an owner of a deceased animal. I’m certain they have done other illicit things. Yet, they can not fill a prescription for me or others who legitimately require the medication.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Sackheim

Isn't FL the pain pill capital ? Don't they have "drive thru" pain management clinics that are super easy to get meds from ? That may be why you are having such an issue. All the addicts are ruining it for the people who really need the meds i.e you. We don't have it that easy where I live but the addicts are doing their jobs ruining here too.

Walgreens wrong medication

I had my 7 month sons prescription filled today at the Walgreens pharmacy. When my husband picked up the prescription and returned home. I read the label to check dosage and directions. The condition being treated was no where near what the label had stated. I called the pharmacy and asked them if the brand name was correct and they told me they had made an error and the medication i was given was the wrong one. Needless to say, i was very angry and all of the things that could have gone wrong if i given my son the medication went through my mind. He could have seriously been harmed by the pharmacys medication error.

Walgreens pharmacy employee

I broke my foot almost 2 months ago in a car accident. I have never received prescription pain medicine but that doesn't matter. I had a prescription of pain medicine filled on the 22nd of October. I dropped off my prescription for this month at Walgreens in Portland, tn. I called tonight the 19th to tell them I would be there tomorow to pick it up and the pharmacy tech named Wayne, got very rude with me. He made me feel as if I was a crackhead. He told me that I couldn't get it til Wednesday and I shouldn't have ran out yet if I took it properly. I never told him I was out. He just assumed I was a junkie I guess who abuses pain meds. I proceeded to tell him that I would just come get my prescription because I didn't want to do business with someone like that. He then told me to drive on up there if I could get there and get it then. His tone was awful. I told the man I would I only lived 5 min away and he told me I wasn't his father and he wasn't my son so I didn't have to tell him anything about myself. My temper rose and I specifically told him he didn't have to get smart or treat me like I was a junkie. He then told me my mother probably was. This is unexceptable. I could be a mayor or anyone. This man has no idea who I am. And no one deserves to be spoke to this way. What he doesn't know is I am someone. And my attorney will be notified. I was discriminated against because I was in an accident that wasn't my fault and had to have pain medication? If anyone reads this I will never do any business with any Walgreens ever again. I am human, and who is Wayne to judge me?

Walgreens pharmacist manager jennifer clemans

I am a long time customer of Walgreen's, I get all my scripts filled there. My regular store was out of my pain medications so I went to another Walgreen's about a 10 minute drive from my house. They filled my script in July and August. In September, I went back and was told by the Pharmacy Manager Jennifer Clemans that, "We haven't had this medication in months". Knowing she was lying because different pharmacists filled it the last two months. So I got it filled at another Walgreen's in September. In October, I go back to Pharmacist Jennifer Clemans store and she tells me, "We have this medication but I don't feel comfortable filling this script because you don't live in the area." Wait, both times she never ran my name on the computer to see if I was a regular customer or not, so I took it to mean that this lady is racist towards me. She doesn't know me at all because she never checked my records on the computer. She doesn't know I have cancer with severe back and neck pain along with deep vein thrombosis in my neck. She does not know I cannot move or function as a human being without my medication and I will be on medication the rests of my life. I was just discriminated against because of my skin color. The store manager acted like he was scared of Jennifer and refused to go against her in any way. Jennifer Clemans needs to be held accountable for her actions and behavior towards me. I wrote corporate but they say Pharmacists makes their own rules. So pharmacists can deny medication to people ordered by their doctors for their health. They have no accountability to no one not even the company they work for. I feel uncomfortable knowing she is still allowed to deal with the public in her profession and it is alright with Walgreen's. To be denied medication because of a persons looks was not taught in Pharmaceutical School. Her denying me had nothing to do with my health. I want an apology from her, and Walgreen's for hiring am incompetent person to head their Pharmacy Dept. I feel uncomfortable knowing she is dealing with the public and taking care of sick people.

Tasha 10 you are so ignorant. Use your brains if you have any. Its funny how you said all Blacks cry racism. My friend who was with me and who happens to be White said, she thought it was a racial thing since she witnessed the incident and that made me wonder if it was a racial thing also. So don't say all Blacks cry racism, that's a racist statement and untrue. You are way off the message of the post. Please stop your ignorance now. I am not some teeny bopper but a senior citizen who has worked hard all my life. Your opinions are way off the mark. I can't believe a dumb ### person like you still exist in this world today with all the educational opportunities afforded everyone in this country. The more I try to make you understand the dumber you get. Get a grip, sorry your life is so miserable and you don't have many friends Black, White, Brown, or Red.

Tasha 10, for your information I am a college graduate who is middle-aged. My white friend who was with me, came up with the racist theory because I am Black. Shows how much you know about races. Dumb is being in denial about racism in America period and grouping people with your stereotytyping. It takes a racist to no one.

Why wasn't my name ran through the company's computer both times she waited on me but was ran when the other pharmacist at the same store filled my script. Oh well, you people who are in denial about racism in America period. I just went further away to another Walgreens and there was no problem at all because my name was put into a computer like they are supposed to do and I walked out with my medicine. Because of the two days longer it took to receive my medicine, my back went out and I am unable to walk now. So thanks people for your helpful and kind remarks, Not! Like I don't know about the 30 days rule. I follow all laws and doctor's orders regarding this medication and have been since being prescribed by my doctor. People who abuse this medication are dying, taken correctly it is beneficial to one's health.

Foxy Grandma you are not being fair. Everyone has a different tolerance for pain. Mine, islow, but luckily, my body response well to codeine and the numerous stomach, nerve numbing medications I am taking. I suffer from endometrosis, extreme IBS, scar tissue throughout my digestive tract and abdominal migraine, also nerve issues from.blood vessels that should not be there. Sometimes codeine does not cut it and I need something stronger. I have kids, pets, a home and a husband, I do not have the time to lay.around all day in pain. So, choose to take the lowest narcotic available . It helps me function and to very apart of life, instead of passing me by. It is unfair to judge others by how you handle pain. Everyone is different. My body is sensitive, and so I feel pain easily. Most of my pain issues are not my fault . So why should I very punished with. pain? I cannot take motrin because of my stomach. The scar tissue was from.a.botched c-section and the endorsing my pitch of a obgyn refused further testing regardless of the textbook symptoms. With all the endo and scar tissue if they try and remove it, there is very little chance it will make a difference. My body does not handle pain well either. My blood pressure goes through the roof, and I can barely walk when my left side is turning and aching all the way down my leg. I use all the other techniques too. Sometimes it just does not work. I have been in so much pain I have thrown up. Everyone's body processes pain differently. You fortunate you handle pain well. It is unfair to take someone to task that does not.

It is a narcotic then. Figures. It is always the narcotic. By FEDERAL LAW, any script the pharmacist is uncomfortable filling they are REQUIRED to refuse. If you live out of the area then she is right to be concerned. Junkies always pharmacy hop to get their meds. WE get people all the way from Miami and Orlando trying to fill Roxies and Oxies and MS Contins. It is not racism, it is smart on the part of the pharmacist. Most pharmacists will NOT fill a narcotic for a patient they have not filled for before.

""We haven't had this medication in months". Knowing she was lying because different pharmacists filled it the last two months."

Get this straight, she did not say this because you are black. She was most likely mistaken. This has nothing to do with the color of your skin.

" "We have this medication but I don't feel comfortable filling this script because you don't live in the area." Wait, both times she never ran my name on the computer to see if I was a regular customer or not, "

"Jennifer Clemans needs to be held accountable for her actions and behavior towards me. "

Posting someone's username online and accusing them of racism with what they call circumstantual evidence is considered slander and you need to be held accountable for that. Also they don't give out last names of employees, it is personal information(though if they refused you that information you would claim because of your skin color)

The reason racism is still alive today is because people make it alive with false claims and jumping the gun too quickly.

This also has nothing to do with you being black, it is more of bad customer service.

" The store manager acted like he was scared of Jennifer and refused to go against her in any way. "

See even the store manager is mistreated by her so it is her problem, not racism. If it were racism she would only be mistreating you and not the store manager.

"I want an apology from her, and Walgreen's for hiring am incompetent person to head their Pharmacy Dept. I feel uncomfortable knowing she is dealing with the public and taking care of sick people."

It is you who should be apologizing for accusing them of racism without knowing that she only did this because you were black. Racism is if a particular group of people get mistreated. How do you know she did this based on your skin color. Because your friend told you. Do you believe everything your friends tell you.

I agree this is something to complain about. But it has nothing to do with racism.

"LMAO...it's always nice to have that card to fall back on when you don't get your way, isn't it?"

Agrees, not only is the person who insists they follow the same rule as everyone else racist, but anyone who does not see it as racism is also racist.

Actually Tasha, I think it is all the drugs and booze that fries their brain, not lack of brain size. Maybe this senior citizen had her brain fried by drugs. She sure does not talk like someone who is a senior, or maybe she is senile, (happens when you get old)

Walgreens bad customer service

I took a bottle of Eucerin Lotion back to the store I purchased it from (Walgreens Pharmacy located on Perris Blvd in the city of Moreno Valley, Ca.). I didn't have the original receipt with me (couldn't find it) so when I entered the store I immediately told the clerk (Irene, I believe) near the entrance that I was only bringing it back to do an exchange for a different lotion, as this brand was not adequate for my needs. It had not been used. Irene said only the manager could authorize an exchange and so she called him over. His name was Sergio Ramero. He looked closely at the bottle I had brought in and then walked away, without explanation, to see if he could locate the same bottle on the store shelf. Before coming back to me he then went into a back-office with the bottle. When he returned a few minutes later (btw, I had no idea where he went or what he was doing) his attitude was that he couldn't justify giving me an exchange because, according to him, that product had not been sold in his store for the past month. I explained to him that that might be true because I did, in fact, purchase it approximately a month before. We didn't disagree about that, however, he also said that he was not going to do the exchange because he couldn't tell that it was even purchased in "his" store. I asked him to simply scan the UPC code or other bar-coded information on the bottle in order to verify that the product came from "his" store. He said, in no uncertain terms, in fact, angrily, that he wouldn't and that there was no information on the bottle that would indicate it even came from Walgreens. At that point I then offered my credit card that I used for the original purchase in order to try tracking Walgreens system as a way of verifying the purchase and he said again "no", that Walgreens isn't a Target-type operation that can do that. By now I had become frustrated at not only his responses, but his demeanor, his attitude towards me, and his overall lack of customer-oriented skills. He just didn't grasp the concept that I was there, as a customer, (I already had several items I was planning on purchasing before his involvement) whose purchase not only effect Walgreens' financial bottom-line, but that I was indirectly contributing to his own salary and benefits. He finally, and with a great deal of consternation, said he would give me a 'store-credit' for the bottle I was returning, and I then told him that a credit was the same to me as an exchange, which was all I wanted to do in the beginning! He never got it! After I told him that and asked why he was being as belligerent as he was, he then changed his mind about giving me the store-credit and told me to take the bottle to another Walgreens and if I had a problem with him I should come back and tell it to his boss, the store manager. He was clear that he would not, under any circumstances, allow me to do any kind of exchange in "his" store. I emphasis "his" because he was pretty adamant that he was the "boss" and it was "his" store, and that things happened there according to his dictate. So sad! I hope that Walgreens or someone associated with Walgreens, either as part of corporate management, corporate customer service, or any stakeholders in Walgreens doesn't take this complaint lightly. This guy Sergio, is NOT doing the name of the business any good with the attitude he displayed to me today. I am absolutely sure that from what I experienced today, that I am NOT the only Walgreens customer in our area who has had the misfortune of dealing with Sergio and has left the store with nothing less than a bad taste in their mouth because of it. My experience also left me feeling like he thought I was a common criminal trying to scam the store... Too bad that his people-skills are as lacking as they are. As consumers, we come to stores like Walgreens to spend hard-earned money on goods offered and expect at least to be treated like we're appreciated. Today Walgreens didn't treat me like a valued customer...and with a Rite-Aid, A CVS and a Costco and a Sam's Club all within a mile of this particular Walgreens, the choice is pretty easy to NOT return to this Walgreens for anything, especially if it means running into an attitude like the one displayed by Sergio Ramero...

I also have a problem with this type of situation. Store employees, even the pharmacy, If you could read the comment listed I would appreciate it. Thank you for posting that, I thougt I was the only unfortunate sole to have such a misfortunate experience as well. I do not shop at this store any more, and will never buy another item there again. Its ### like in the world, and they don't own it. I would have poured the lotion all over the counter and said ok bye. Clean it up ###, I hate this store and I plan to have someone fired from this store! Good luck.

The Consumerist » Lawsuit: Is Walgreens Racist? The US Federal Government has filed a class action lawsuit against Walgreens Co., a national drug store chain located in a variety of US States.
The lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission alleges that Walgreens, based out of Augusta, GA, makes decisions about promotions based on the race of employees. "Black managers are assigned to stores in black neighborhoods more often than one would expect, and black employees are not being promoted to management and within management as often as similar white employees, " said EEOC regional attorney Robert Johnson in Atlanta. The suit is seeking an injunction against the company from engaging in the alleged misconduct.

The suit may end up representing discrimination claims from more than 10, 000 employees. Most of the complaints come from employees in Augusta, GA, Aiken/North Augusta, SC, St. Louis, Kansas City, Detroit and Tampa, FL but the EEOC says it has lots of evidence of similar situations occurring in other parts of the country.

Walgreens issued a statement saying, "As a company with a history of commitment to fairness, diversity and opportunity, we are saddened and disappointed by the EEOC's decision. Our commitment is to providing opportunity to all employees -- not only because it is the right thing to do but because our business was built on this principle."

It added: "Fairness and equality always have been the cornerstones of our business. We're the nation's best represented retailer in urban areas, and managers of all backgrounds are promoted to senior levels from those locations."

Walgreens employee complaint

I was an employee of Walgreens for over ten years. I Complained to store and regional managment about the cutting of staff because of inability to take care of customers in a timely maner. Store managment told me to call for managment help when needed, they never showed up. The regional managment told me that customer service was not a priority and do not stay after your shift time, or you will be written up.
NOTE: to all Walgreens employee's watch your back, do your job, don't go out of your way to help, and keep looking for better employment. This company will discard you like the trash. Profit sharing is a joke . When you try to contact them in bed with J.P.Morgan(listed as one of top five companies for worst customer service) took almost sixty day's to transfer my money, and thirty day's just to tell Walgreens Profit sharing that was no longer employed. I even had a customer leave a thank you card with the pharmacy manager and somehow it got thrown out (Pretty Low). This company has nothing in mind but PROFITS. Find a small pharmacy that has the customer in mind, if you can.

so today I go to Walgreens to make sure I got everything and to get the award plaque I earned two months ago but never got it. I was told they were waiting on the manager Emily who never does her job and comes to the store. The response I was giving is you no longer work for the company so I and Emily thro it away. Way to go Walgreens keep up the good work you take advantage of your employee's and then when you got them bent over you give it to them full force with NO LUBE. Best choice I ever made was getting out of that company and moving on.

there has been so much unfair practices in this store Im not sure where to start, but Mr.James came in to speak with me about a written statement that was given to him by my manager Ms.Ash who encouraged the employee to write it and instead of talking to me to find out if there was any truth to this she sent it straight to top .then she encouraged a fairly new employee to write another statement on a totally different issue about me as well, this employee took everything she had told me and said I said those things to her. Nevertheless I was told to take off find another location to work from by the district manager .This store 9473 lost 5 employees within the last month and the manager and her lead did the same thing to another employee a few months ago including asking me to write a statement against that employee, this lead threaten to do things to her yet this lead was never relieved of her job . The issues at this store is with the manager and her lead but they consistently blame all others . I feel this company has major issues had fault everyone but the real factors.

No one not directly coded for the pharmacy can enter a pharmacy. That is state law. So, no a store manager can not enter a pharmacy.

Not sure where this comes from. No one will ever become a Walgreens store manager without passing or obtaining the required certification to enter the pharmacy. Obviously the requirements vary from state to state, but ALL store managers, and most other management have recieved the certifications to do so. I have personally known lower management members who have been "let go" (fired) because they didnt pass the required tests. It is a mandatory requirement for the position.

Profit sharing basically puts your money in a locked account, and once you leave the ### company they fee you to death taking the half they put in. Walgreen's scams their employees. Ever since they eliminated the EXA position and made shift leads, ASMTs, etc, the company has really turned to a money hungry ### hole.

Store managers are not allowed to be in the pharmacy doing pharmacy work unless they are either a pharmacist or a tech, so why they would tell you to call them for help is beyond me. If you are a tech then you know only pharmacy personnel are to be in the pharmacy area.

Walgreens walgreens going down the drain

Walgreens once rated americas best pharmacy is becoming the worse day by day –ughh just thinking of how they treat their employees make me sick –its time they have independent bodies doing the loss prevention work –the internal body is a total mess they are all so corrupt when they are supposed to be investigating matters instead they are sharing the info with the same people involved. They clearly have the favorites and their untouchable people who just collect a paycheck every month and dont do anything but play the system. Sum store managers are almost never in their stores instead they only write notes arrive late and take 3 hr lunches and leave early they do everything thats wrong and against store policies and even tho lp is given info they fail to act up on it but yet quickly target other people. Its so disgusting but fire shall be upon them evildoers. And to all those dm’s who are covering dirt for your favorite str mgrs continue doing so it wont last.. Only time will tell less they forget that nothing lasts forever whether good or bad / they too shall have their day.. I wouldnt encourage anyone to invest their hard work and time for this company at least not anymore it used to be good but now the people who have infested it has made it a place not worthy.

I was an employee for 7 yrs, at one walgreens store in psl, Fl. I did every job that you can imagine, including asst mngr. Due to having a child w learning disabilities, and I'm a single mom. Not able to wrk everynight to close I left the mngr position went into cos, because my sons education was more priority. Plus the asst mngr position I took was based on false promises they made too me prior to accepting this position. They including a private interview w the district mnr at his office, said I'd only close like 2times per mth, he knew about my son. That store had me closing every night, my son was failing school.being the most Sr employee there, they cut my hrs to 4dys, then 3, I lost my insurance. Come to find out I was like the only employee who needed walgreens insurance, all others had their husbands or parent's. I agreed to wrk 1 nite, to reclaim my hrs, even though I wrked on Sat. Fair

scheduling is only haven to do one or the other. After 2yrs we get a new store mngr, who knew my personal situation. Within 3 wks she called me to the office to inform me that I will be wrking all 4 nites and she's not changing it! I asked her for a transfer, she NO! Then she belittled me more, saying stuff about my wrk performance, all false. I quit right there, after 7yrs! I felt very discriminated because I have a child w needs. I was not about to wrk for someone to be ther slave and think she got the best of me..

Walgreens destroyed film

I had a $2000 contract for a ten hour photo shoot and ad design. I shot 5 rolls of film, Four of which were black & white film. I took the film for processing at the local Walgreens where I have a business account. I asked the Photo Department associates if they were sure they could process the Black & white film. Both associates looked at the lable on the film and said yes, it would be no problem. Three days later I went to get my photos only to be told that all the black & white film was incorrectly processed and non-recoverable. I got a letter form the manager apologising for the error and he gave me the contact information for their insurance company, Sedgwick CMS. I subsequently had to pay back all of the money paid to me for the photography contract. The participants of the photo shoot and the client were all very angry and refused to do further business with me. I have had at least 10 conversations with Erica, who is supposed to be the Claims Specialist. I have sent documentation of my loss to Erica at Sedgwick twice. Erica has refused to cover even half of my loss. I feel that I should not have to take Sedgwick to court in order to get compensation for my loss. Sedgwick CMS collects millions of dollars from clients (supposedly) for the purpose of covering such mistakes and carelessness of employees. So why do I have to continue to waste time and money in efforts to recoup a portion of my loss?

Walgreens ignorance of pharmacy

I have a complaint about the experience I had at the walgreens pharmacy which is located at the corner of Irving park Road and Kedzie Ave.
I waited 25 minutes for 2 minute prescription re-fill . I cream refill.
Your staff is extremely ignorant and there is no such customer service. These people they just chat with each other, they are not even busy nor in rush hour. But they are too ignorant to just lift their head up a little and ask customers:
-hello can i help you
- sir for what have you been waiting for?

I gave my prescription I just waited there for half an hour. Of course I can not see behind the cashier and figure out if my drug is ready or not. They dont even care to announce the customer s name or give simple sign. They just put the paper bags on their own desk which people cant see. So I kept waiting. Finally I decided to ask what happened, why do I wait so long? I was so pissed I just wanted my prescription and leave. Guess what? They lost my prescription so I had to wait for another period till they find it. No single apology no single Im sorry. Same -whatever..- attitude.
Why these people are so ignorant to raise their faces and look at the customer and speak to them? what is with the attitude! This is not what you advertise on the TV!
Please watch the camera records because I know that they will simply deny and blame me as being a difficult/hard customer to deal with. Please watch the asian pharmacist while I sit there and wait for my medicine (which was already ready ages ago).
Never ever again walgreens, at least they give customer service at cvs!

If it was only so simple as putting a sticker on the box and handing it to you. It is not. 30 minutes is the wait time on a moderately busy day, 15 minutes on the best of days. I don't have the time to type out the whole process step by step but just know at the Walgreens I work at there are 15 (sunday night) to 300 (week day) people waiting for their scripts to be filled every hour. Who are we to decide your foot fungus med should be filled before the little girl's antibiotics? We can not, and we have to go by the order they are recieved. By all means please go to CVS...you are ungrateful and impatient...we are too busy with all of our other millions of customers to have you glaring over the counter at us.

Walgreens misfilled prescription, crushed & broken

i was to have 2 prescriptions refilled, as usual my daughter phoned this 2 in just before i ran completely out of said medication, being they are scheduled type drugs.these cannot be refilled until the previous prescription has run out.i usually wait until a day or 2 before calling these in, i was given thereply that i could'nt get these until my previous prescription had run compleatly run out, ok i had enough of them to last 2 days, when my daughter did finally picked them up 1 of them was short on the amount @5-6 tablets, the other was short by half the amount prescribed and what was remaining in the container was powder &broken or partial tabletes.the pharmtech then stated that in no way was the pharmacy was at fault, for me to check and see if my daughter had taken some of them or if the pills had been exposed to moisture.this absurd, i always check the amount and then place pills into daily dose container, and furthermore i have my wife check to be sure every pill is in its proper place for safety purposes

I had a similar experience with my local Walgreens in Palm City, Fl. I picked up a script for Vicodin for my daughter, who had just had surgery. She was "out of it" for a couple of days, but told me the pills weren't helping the pain at all and they were crushed and broken. When I finally looked at the bottle, she was right. These pills were not just "split", but in pieces and powder (though a few were whole). I am wondering if the Vicodin was old and just crumbled or what. I called the pharmacy to complain and, of course, the pharmacist said they were whole when I picked them up. I told him I was not some junkie after another script (as I could get a refill from her doctor), but I am upset that this happened because my daughter could not get proper pain relief. I have been using this Walgreens for over 20 years, but due to this experience, I will switch pharmacies.

Walgreens prescription refilled incorrectly teice

On April 28, 2012 I requested Walgreens located at 3143 W. Colorado Avenue in Colorado Springs to refill my prescription for 150 insulin syringes. When I got the prescription, it had been filled for 100 syringes instead of the 150 that my doctor had ordered. When the pharmacist was told about this, I was told by him that it was my responsibility to check if it had been properly filled and not his. After complaining to the customer service line, I was assured that it was indeed the duty of the pharmacist to do this and not the consumer and that this would never happen again. On May 22, 2012, I once again ordered the same refill of 150 insulin syringes and once again I received 100 instead of 150. The pharmacist once again admitted that he had refilled the prescription incorrectly. This time when I complained, the store manager he told me that there was not a procedure to check the accuracy of prescriptions other than those for pills.

It is incomprehensible to me that a national chain pharmacy would tolerate that their workers would tell a customer that it is their responsibility to check their pharmacist for errors and to not depend on them to do it correctly.

If this is covered under insurance, you need to report this to them as well.

The insurance company will verify whether the pharmacist billed them for 100 syringes or 150 (both times). If the pharmacy billed your insurance company for 150 syringes, but only gave you 100, the insurance company will open up a fraud investigation.
