Waffle House manager

Former employee who thoroughly enjoyed working for Waffle House as a District Relief Manager in Nashville, TN in late 90s then as a grill operator in Villa Rica, Ga. Loved customers and most all employees. Though you have to watch it working for Lacheryl in Villa Rica. During my time as Grill Operator that store manager was constantly spreading rumors about me and confronting me about things I never said nor thought of saying about her. I've been a gossiper nor spread lies about anyone I've ever worked with. Lacheryl was impossible when it came to that about me in particular. Tarnishing my reputation at every opportunity. And continued to do so long after I worked my notice. Constant drama in my ears every time I worked. And she spoke negatively about other managers, particularly the district manager, Richie Miles. Somehow she thought I enjoyed hearing such things? Among other gossip ? Finally I expressed to her nothing she said about others was any of my business and I never said whatever she accused me of daily. I'm normaly a quite teamplayer. I lead when I have to and quite person.I was on time, sales went up on my shift, and I could definitely hold my own. Often during peak busy hours, lacheryl would leave grill taking on cell phone, jabbering away about something or messing with her hair. That manager would call me during busy hours while I was cooking on my cell phone, which I ignored if it was not on WH phone line. Always when the same doped up waitress was working that couldn't handle a slow shift. Forcing me to both cook and deliver food . Took forever to get same gossiping doper to come to register. Lacheryl seen this as me "talking" - Nope. Its called customer service. Somehow she thought I was buddies with DM. Nope. Long after I took a much better much higher paying job, the rumors from this woman persisted.The woman knows absolutely nothing about me. Finally I tried complaining very civil to DM Richie Miles. He refused to have civil conversation in person. Ignorant and not interested in how such managers affect sales. There's a whole lot more I could say, but I won't. Now Lacheryl can be happy that i FINALY. As a result, me nor anyone in my family enter a WH in Richie's district.

Waffle House I am an employee at store unit 1118 and complaining about wrong termination

My name is Julia smith an employee At store unit 1118 I was working Sunday August 7 and I was section 1 I had everything done and at 8-9 pm my other server left me to take her tables and also my tables because she had to help the cook cook by 9 pm when 3 rd shift came in the third shift jakota and summar took me in the back Bc I said to summar no I will not do the waitress that left me by my self silverware Bc I was over whelmed I said no loud on the floor jakota said look at me in my eyes three times and also said he's the boss and before he got in my face yelling him and summar got high and my cook was trynna get in the back but jakota pushed the door on the same side and told her to go and when jakota and summar was yelling at me it got to the point where I felt he was gonna hurt me and I went back on the floor and said no loud and while I was going on the floor I felt them try to pull me back Bc I felt them pull the back. Of my shirt I also never cused on the floor all I did was got loud and when I got back on the floor he called my manager and what ever he said he got me terminated and my manager did not look on the tapes to prove what I said was true and I'm gonna take them to court because I was wrongfully terminated and also when jakota and summar was yelling at me. I hear a customer yell I need to be fired and I had no say at all because my manager did not look at the tapes and wrong fully terminated me with out even looking at the tapes she just wrongfully terminated me by customers and other employees that have a habit of lieing and my manager did not have the decency to look at the tapes to prove what I was saying was true Bc I know I'm telling the truth and was wrongfully terminated

Waffle House food, service, waitress

Me and my wife stopped went to the waffel house #2151 on Wesleyan dr in va beach on July 22 2016. The waitress acted like she was not all there. She couldn't understand my wife 's order she wanted the grits bowl with about having less grits than normal. I had too tell her 4 times before she could understand what she wanted. I ordered a waffel and beacon. I finished my waffel and still no beacon. I asked on other waitress and she brought it. The waitress never asked if we needed more coffee or came back to the table to ask us if we needed anything. She also forgot to bring us Splenda that we ask for. The bacon was undercooked and was not very good quality, a lot of salt. We will not be going back. Richard parker [protected] thank you

I don't blame your waitress for not understanding. I have no idea what you mean by grit bowl with less grits than normal...What does that mean? And what WH sells beacon? A beacon is something used for direction. It is not edible. And bacon is salty. Next time, cook at home and spare those poor people your presence.

As a rule of thumb, one shouldn't go to Waffle House with high maintenance dining needs. It's not your Waffle House of years ago. Not even close.

Waffle House unsanitary

On 7-19-16 as I was eating, I noticed a worker bring out two heads of lettuce wrapped in cellophane. She unwrapped one and quartered it and put about two quarters in the bin for sandwiches, etc. and then proceeded to chop on the remaining part and immediately put it on plates for salads. There was NO washing of this lettuce at all! Do you realize how sick dirty lettuce can make you? To make this even worse, the manager was sitting at the table eating during this and never even noticed it or said a word. I couldn't help but ask my waitress if the lettuce shouldn't have been washed prior to using it and she replied yes, but she (the other worker) didn't do it, did she? She told me she would take care of it, but I never saw her say anything to the manager. This in itself will prevent me from ever going back to this location. I cannot believe a person would subject their customers to things that are likely to make them ill!

Actually no...I wouldn't even think about doing that! Not only nasty, but dishonest! Additionally, you're not paying for the preparation of food in a grocery store!

Wrong. Customer service is to always tell the customer what they want to hear. You wanted to hear her say they should have washed it, so she said it. When in fact, she, as the waitress, has no idea whether the kitchen person did wash it or not since kitchen work is not a waitress job.

The point is you do not know if the lettuce is prewashed. Most grocery stores sell prewashed produce.

Waffle House service and quality of food

Date of service 5/26/16...Waffle House #1605 located just outside of Canton, GA. My husband and I stopped to eat here about 7:30 pm. I ordered the All Star Breakfast with country ham. There was a little delay in the initial service. Actually saw someone else come in after us and another waiter took care of them before ours approached us. It wasn't that busy. But I could've let that pass. I was so disappointed that everything on my plate was actually cold...not even warm. The grits were lumpy and cold and tasted like water was added to them. My scrambled eggs were cold. I asked for a dark waffle. It was close to burnt, hard, tough and cold. The country ham had a really good taste to it but it also was cold. My husband ordered an egg and cheese sandwich with hashbrowns...His was hot...and he said it was good. I'm assuming they cooked all of mine first and then started on his and brought both to our table at the same time...which took them longer than it should have. Someone needs to show them how to multitask. It was the worst meal I have ever had at Waffle House and I have ate at a lot of them. Sooo disappointed ! I was hungry tonight! Would love to have my 8 bucks back. Will never stop at #1605 again!

Waffle House rude service and poor quality food

Went to Waffle House in Walker, Louisiana and was very disappointed in the quality of the food and service. First of all the grits were not cooked very well and my children said the waffles had a funny taste. The worst part of the experience was the fact that the waitress seemed to be rushing us the whole time we were there. From the moment we sat down they seemed to be trying to get us finished up so the next customers could sit down. To top it off they wanted to charge me for a refill on a coke for my son. Two dollars for five cents of coke. Wow! Every other place in the USA give free refills but not Waffle House. I used to really like Waffle House way back when they seemed to care about customer service and good food. But that was a long time ago I guess. I think this was my final visit to a once good restaurant. So long Waffle House.

Waffle House waitress constantly complaining about her hurt/aching back

1/11/16 1015am, I went into the Waffle House on Hwy.52 in Goose Creek, South Carolina, to have breakfast. I seated myself at the lower counter, next to the cash register. A waitress came with silverware, asked what I would like to drink, I replied " Coffee ". She also took my breakfast order; Spanish Omelet, Bacon, Hash Browns, and Wheat Toast. While she went for my coffee, I overheard another waitress moaning, and bending over ( as if she was stretching her back ), and she was rubbing her lower left back. She went over to a couple having breakfast, poured them coffee, continuing to rub her back, making these moaning noises. They told her to go to see a doctor, she replied she didn't get off till 2 pm, and would just have to wait. Meantime, my breakfast plate was served, and I began to eat, and hopefully enjoy my breakfast...but, as luck would have it, the waitress continued to either bend over, stretch her back, sit down, or moan. This was happening almost right in front of me, not doing a thing for the atmosphere of what I hoped to be a relaxing, enjoyable breakfast. After several minutes of watching and listening to the "Aches and pains" of the waitress, I did not feel like eating any longer, my appetite was upset over the activity around me. I said something to my waitress about this, and she just kinda shook her head, and sighed. I had had enough... my desire to eat was ruined, the atmosphere was no longer pleasurable to enjoy my breakfast. I picked up my check, went to the register, where Kristy waited on me, I complained to her about the "moaning and groaning", she nodded her head, maybe in agreement, I'm not sure, I asked if she was in charge, she said no, but she would tell her boss about this situation. I got up from a unfinished $14.45 breakfast, with a spoiled appetite.. but I did leave a $2.55 tip for my waitress. I then left the building. I am pretty sure I won't be back at THIS Waffle House, not looking for another case of Moans & Groans while I eat.

Waffle House bad management

Jan 2nd, 2016: Immature coworker scared me by jumping out at me from behind employee door. I am an older worker (server) and have certain issues ---let's just say that this incident caused me to have to leave the store and go home to shower. Upper management was correct in that they stated that I terminated my employment because I left the unit without notice, but they weren't even interested in knowing why I left the unit at all. I wish Waffle House luck in keeping the immature slackers and druggies who they seem to always choose to retain as opposed to the workers who actually work when they are at a unit, and try to retain a solid customer base through good customer service. Waffle House units are filled with hostility, unfair work practices, health code violations, and bad management.

Waffle House service, food, air conditioning, dishes

This is the worst experience I have ever had at a Waffle House! We went into the Waffle House located on I-85 and 198 in Blacksburg, SC. When we first went in people were already complaining about how cold it was inside. We ordered coffee and hot chocolate. The cup on the hot chocolate had food on it. The waitress replaced it. It appeared she was very stressed because of a lot going on around her. When she brought our food we complained again about the air conditioner making it so cold and our drinks were luke warm. The waitress did heat them up. The biscuit and the toast were burned. The waitress said she had turned the heat on but instead had turned it down further. I asked to speak to the manager. His name was Jim. The waitress talked to him and she came back. That's when she told us it was her fault about the air conditioner. The manager never came out. We paid and left. I will say that all Waffle Houses are always too cold but this one was as cold inside as it was outside. If I had wanted to eat in a meat locker I would have eaten outside! I will never go back to this Waffle House! It's always too cold inside all Waffle Houses, all year long!

Waffle House incompetent behaviour

Me and my boyfriend went into Waffle House in Raeford this morning to have breakfast after work.Time was 9:30. We seated our selves and waited for someone to come help us. There was 5 waitress's and 2 cooks in there. They saw us walk in. They were just standing around messing with their phones all but 2 who were busy. Finally I said something and the one I spoke to called someone else over. She took our drink order and returned with it and gave us a few minutes to look the menu over. The coffee was hot but the tea was not sweet like we asked for and the glass had very little ice in it. She took our order and when we got it, it was wrong. She took it and showed it to the cook and they started talking amongst them selves. They dumped my hashbrowns in the garbage and put the sandwich on a plate and gave it to him and took his plate and added what I had ordered on it and gave it to me. She was very rude. I ordered hashbrowns smothered, covered and country and he ordered his smothered, covered and capped. I had no onions in my hashbrowns, his had them. He ate the sandwich and had to wait to get the hashbrowns. We watched them remake the hashbrowns and she went to bring it to us and had to turn around because they forgot the cheese. If they had paid attention to what they were doing this would have not happened. Our order was not the only one they messed up while we were there. One costumer told her to replace the tea with a soda she liked because the tea was not sweet. He finished his tea and was asked if he wanted more. Glass had very little ice in it and she just added hot tea to it. I got sick and he got upset. We will never go back to that Waffle House again. They did not know what they were doing and were rude in my opinion.

Waffle House poor management service

I don't like too do this but here goes someone said if you don't speak out there want be any changes too help the employees well here goes my server was a girl name molly who just destroy our whole breakfast this morning by letting us know that she work the night before and kept going on and on about how tired she was that's why she messed up on our food order had too wait for syrup for waffle which doesn't make sense if getting a waffle don't syrup come with it. the eggs and the food was just thrown on the plate I caught her touching our toast on the plate and putting her hands all on our bacon trying too carry so much and half way droping the food and the cook ran out too help her and I notice that must be her boyfriend cause she kept asking him for food and help and he wasn't helping the other server's but her and than she kept going on and on that she is real cool with the manager there she and her will take money off our bill but that wasn't the point me and my family just wanted what we order. I notice the other server who was African American I think her name was paula and she had several tables and an large family she handle all her tables and had there food out faster than ours and ask us for refills on our drinks too. next time we will ask for her that way we don't have too listen too stories and lies about our food or else we wont be back if we have too be served by molly. I try to give someone the benefit of the doubt but that server molly is worthless now ill go too her if me and my husband split and I need boyfriend advice lol I don't think so please just have your workers conduct there self in a professional manner instead of all over the place looking like she is dope up and having boyfriends and girlfriends working together it hurts a company instead of helping.

The manger never came out too make sure we was ok when she did she just look over at us and kept going in the back didn't ask us anything.

Waffle House termination

I was terminated today for telling a customer when I would be working. I have heard some of the girls I work with tell customers when they work but nothing was said to them. The manager had me sign a write up form then told me i no longer work for her. I believe I was wrongly terminated. There a lot more things worse than telling customers when you work. Stealing food, continuing to be late every time they work, and sexual harassment.
This is the way this manager is. She already had someone there to work my shift. She knew i rode a cab to work everyday at the cost of $14 both ways. But that didn't bother her. Ater I got home i got a phone call from someone who had called to see if i was working yesterday and this person was told over the phone that i was not working, which i wasn't, i had worked a 13 hour shift the night before, so this person asked was i working tomorrow, which was today, and the girl on the phone told her no. First, the girl that answered the phone told someone she didn't even know that i was not working that day. Second, the whole restaurant must have known before me that i was fired! And one more thing. I was told it takes three write ups to get fired. This was my second write! I feel she terminated me for an unjust reason. This will be reported to the corporate office.

Waffle House refusal of service.

At 11:20 pm 4/26/15. I walked into Waffle House #295 to order coffee and breakfast. They refused me service with no reasonable explanation. I ate at this location years ago and never had a problem until now. Not only was I refused service I was told to leave the premise. Could they have mistaken me for someone else? I want to report this!

Waffle House so cold could not eat

Went in for break fast. So cold our coffee got cold before we could drink it. 2 minutes our coffee was cold. Asked to turn down AC . Hey said no our cooks would get hot! We said we all, all the patrons were freezing! They said sorry but our cooks will get hot. The windows had frost on them... Everyone in the pace all chimed in and asked to turn down the AC. Our waitress had a smart remark and said go somewhere else! We asked politely again they said leave, we did along with 5 other tables! They were rude disrespectful and we will never patron another one as long as we live!

Waffle House poor customer service

Store number 1391 has poor service I came in the restraint on 12/14/13 for breakfast with my family order food for us wsit was longvwith a busy sat. Morning when our food came I order waffles eggs with onions the meal comes with hashbrown but when I got my food onions was in my hashbrowns not what I orede sent it back then my waffle came it was burnt sent it back them my plate came back onions c was in my eggs but still in yhhashbrowns got b the gril that served us told her my order was wrong again I wanted the manger shevssidbhevwas busy calling orders out and he will b with me when he can I looked at her ceszy like im not a important custom to I been there for 30 mins havent ate yet after waiting another 15 mins on the manger to hewalk over I told him what happen he said sorry said he would take care of my ticket went back to calling order by then we b justask the casher what we need to pay then left horrible service im donebwith waffle hoouse.

""wsit was longvwith a busy sat. Morning" " means either or any of those other terms you quoted, but we can't blame the restaurant for misunderstand her. If she speaks the same way how are they to know what they want..

Then this uneducated person does not know the difference between a "girl"( or gril as she posted) and a woman, so what do you expect. I hardly doubt they are hiring anyone under 16.

Waffle House over charged

Waffle house is going nut! I paied 11.85 cent for eggs, twoo bacon and hasbrown. I called a order in because I work near the store. When I got there, that was the charge for the meal. I did not have time to fight it. I called back it he said it was because I call it in. Cost mor e for take out. I get everything plus pancakes for 699.

Some restaurants charge for the take-out containers, syrup to go, etc. They just passed the costs onto you. Nothing wrong with that but would have been nice if they told you upfront.

Waffle House no service at all

My husband and I wanted some Waffle House as an early breakfast at 4 this morning. We pulled up to the location in Arlington TX off Little Rd and were immediately greeted by an employee informing us that they cannot serve us due to all their tables being dirty. I peeked inside and every table was filthy, there was only one table occupied by diners. Surprised that they did basically told us to come back another night; we ended up going down The street to iHop. What kind of sorry excuse for customer service does WF have now that they refuse service due to their employees being lazy?

Waffle House answering phone

Today I called to try a place an order and no one answered. This is about the third time this has occurred with me. When I get there and ask them if the phone is broken the employees says "no we just turned it off and forgot to turn it back on". I don't think this is how I would like my business run if I owned it. I love eating at Waffle House, but if this keeps up I think I will take myself somewhere s else. I think if I feel this way how many other customers feel that way

Waffle House waitresses

Me, my father and his girlfriend went to the Byram Waffle House Saturday night 12/8 at around 9:30. Two of the waitresses. One I did not get name but the second Jamie J. were playing around and got our ordered totally screwed up, I ordered coffee, milk and the Big meal. She brought eggs all watery with a burned waffle that did not have the pecans in it which I ordered, I also ordered grits with mine, did not receive, they forgot my coffee and were cutting their eyes and mocking their white lady manager. There was another couple behind us that also did not get all if their order right. You need a very good man manager that is TOUGH enough to run that place and make those ladies work instead of play. The lady manager was trying to be strict but they just ignored her. I was truly disappointed in our service. It's NEVER been that horrible. Thank you. Jana French

And BTW I don't walk out of restaurants. Both waitresses new we were not satisfied with their service, they simply DID NOT care, and as far as the Manager goes, she was in the middle of this mess, TRYING to manage it. But when you have ONE white woman trying to tell 4 young black women and 1 young white girl what to do in their job, of course they're going to flip their eyes and totally ignore her ESPECIALLY if she's trying to sound like a platoon Sargent barking orders instead of demanding them. After the first time, she should have fired them one by one starting with this Jamey J. And working her way further down. There's way too many people other people looking for jobs.

YOU are full of It. When someone is fired for a job, she DOES NOT stand around laughing and talking with all the other ladies, and they're washing the floor and take the long water spout and squirt one another with it. When a lady comes to MY table and takes my order and says " Can "I" help you? YOU'RE DANG STRAIGHT, it is her fault, she had a huge attitude problem and I WILL NOT put up with stupidity when I am the one paying for that food.
