I signed up for vontage telephone service and before i got any hardware to use the service my house burned down. The house burned on Sept 18th 2007 and they say they delivered the hardware on sept 27th 2007. there was no one there to recieve anything. But they want to charge me for something I never got little lone used. Every time I call them I end up on hold for 15 to 20 minutes, I have been cut off several times when put on hold. It is now January of 2008 and they are still billing me for the service and say I now have to pay $130.00 to cancell the service which I called and tried to cancell back in Sept. when the house burned. They are terrible to try and work with they do not know what one or the other is doing.

I have contacted Vontage over 12 times, waiting no less than 45 minutes per call spoken to 4 supervisors, to cancel, no one follows through. I ordered this service due to cost $24.95 plus tax, cost $30.80 per month plus $14.95 for moden to be shipped. well I got an email after 12 days they never we able to connect my service due to no dial tone now. They waited to long to transfer. I was now given a random phone number from Vontage and my telephone number I had for 6 years was assigned to another person. I continue to get billed. I wrote to their CEO at Vontage no response. I wrote to BBB.org an Federal Consumer complaints. No news yet. any other suggestions to get rid of this company. they are billing my checking account which I have had for over 35 years.
