I was having problems with my computer and a pop-up ad I assumed that was from Microsoft came up offering to keep virus, spyware and pop-ups off my computer came up. I bought tit at $88.94 EUR or $142.56 CDN, installed it and my computer really went nuts and nothing was going right. I tried to de-install and it would not allow me to.

The program is of questionable value and a real nuisance as it keeps popping up to entice one to buy the program. Microsoft needs to do something about this as the program uses the name Vista and an icon that appears to be MS branded. It was tough getting rid of it but malawarebytes anti-malaware (spelling may be off abit) has a program that will let you get rid of it completely. You need to download the program(try several google search links as the program would stop you from accessing some of them). After the download, restart in safe mode, change the name of the download program(vista anti virus stops one from running the program as named), then scan and quanranteen.

I also took the bait thinking this was a Microsoft product.
They state on the purchase choice a $34.00 for 6mo protection and that's what I purchased. I found it strange that the amount of the charge wasn't listed on the receipt. When the email came with the download code I noticed the charge was $77.90US.

I didn't download the software and notified my credit card company that I would reject the charge. I also sent a note to the company stating "nice try boys! very dishonest way of doing business". They also have the nerve to state on the email that if you dispute the charge it may effect your credit rating.

That just tells us that many are doing just that, including me!
Absolute best wishes,
Mark

The "Vista Anti-Virus" "XP Anti-Virus" and other variants are actually scamware viruses in themselves.

Ones that I see very often in my current job as a PC technician. The best advice I can offer you, is if you didn't download it. Don't know what it is for sure, and it's asking you for money. Stop right there, update your anti-virus and run a scan.

Almost guaranteed you'll find atleast 4 viruses with many many traces.

Better advice, buy an anti-virus to begin with and keep it UPDATED.
