I recently got 2 certificate from a local time share company, PDI, for a 7 day cruise and 2 airline tickets that can or cannot be used with the cruise. The presentation was almost three hours and we did not buy in to it, but we did leave with the gifts in hand.

Upon reading the certificates we were faced with sending in the certificates by certified mail with in 21 days with a certified check or money order for the deposits totaling $174 ($99 for cruise and $75 for air). I called VIP and asked if since I was local if these rules could be bent, they said no problem, that I could bring it in the only thing that they are firm about was no personal checks.

The following day my husband and I rode down. It was a smaller office then I expected after seeing all the people receiving the same gifts we did. We were greeted by two young ladies at the front, Kim entered all our information and took our money (cash) for the deposits and disappeared into the back of the office somewhere. She reappeared a short time later with our "welcome packages" this was basically 3 pages a letter saying hi, the terms and conditions again, and the forms we used to request what, where, and when we wanted to travel. Kim advised us that we could stay and fill it out then or take it and mail it or drop it back off later, whatever we wanted. We chose to take it with us, but did find out about surcharges for peak season for the cruise, additional fees if we wanted to take our grandchildren, things like that. Everyone there seemed knowledgeable and willing to help.

The following day I dropped off our requests the cruise we wanted out of Port Canaveral this up coming September, which is our local port, so we opted to use the airline tickets to go to Indianapolis to see my daughter and her family.

Last Monday (surprising as it was a holiday and it seems they are never open), Alexia called offered me my airfare for March 23-29, I was responsible for my reservations processing fee, taxes, and a peak season fee this came to a total of $154 for 2 tickets, the $75 deposit I had sent in went toward it and I paid the remaining $79 bucks. I travel this route pretty often and was very happy with this deal as it came up to just at 1/3 of what I usually pay for 2 tickets.

My confirmation came in the mail today, my flight times are the same flights I've taken multiple times in the past, they are non stop and reasonable times. I honestly figured they'd take me all over the country in the middle of the night. All in all, my only complaint was the paperwork back and forth, I do believe the process could be more stream line. But it worked out, at a great cost so I'm super pleased. Now I'll just cross my fingers for the cruise in Sept.

ATTENTION JOSE:

As I told you over the phone, I have done everything correctly. The cashier's check, the certified mail, and adhered to the Terms and Conditions that were sent to me. In those Terms and Conditions, it clearly states that I needed to mail the request for travel "at least 60 days before". The rejection letter that I received stated that I was in "breach of the terms and conditions for failure to provide 90 day notice".
I sent in my reply, with all the documentation on July 11th, via certified mail. When I spoke with you this morning after many attempts, You told me to fax the paperwork again to you and you gave me the number of the fax as [protected]. I rushed over to the UPS STORE fax you the Terms and Conditions that I had received only to be told that that number was off line or not in service. Please call me, I have left several messages. Thanks

I had the same thing and was able to use them together! I got 2 certificates one for a 7 night cruise and 1 for airfare that could be used together. The first time I screwed it up and I didn't sent them in certified mail and tried my hardest, begged, pleaded, threatened, everything and they wouldn't take it, it was void. I went back to the people I got it from they gave me new ones, I sent them in and the first date was not available but the second was. They booked my air to Ft. Lauderdale, the booked my cruise to Nassau, St Thomas, San Juan, and Grand Turk, and they booked me an extra night in Ft. Lauderdale before my cruise at a good rate.
