My wife and I each took a loan for $300. This was 9 months ago. They deposited the money, one on her payweek and one on mine. I just called customer service and they said my loan was paid off. I said that's funny because you are still taking out $60 every other week. Your wife's isn't paid off. Funny I said both were the same time. Oh, I can't talk to you about it. Wife is calling so I can talk about it. I'm looking at $2700 for two loans totally $600. If this doesn't stop today with a generous refund in my bank, I will contact a lawyer. I have every bank statement since this occurred. Not a single email or phone call. And we each have our own email accounts and phones. I was blind but now I can see and some mother ****** is going to pay! I'd advise you to put a stop payment on the ach debit, then close your account.

I to am going through this right now - also called from someone saying they were going to serve me papers for a payday loan of $1017.00 back in 2014? Which I can honestly say I know nothing about. I do recall a payday loan of 300 bucks which at that time I was extremely lucky to get that much - I don't see anyone giving me a loan of 1000 dollars. They are also telling me its a felony in north carolina which is where I lived at that time and the amount I owe them is over 2100 dollars. I have not seen one good post regarding these scum bags - any advise on getting them off my back would be greatly appreciated.. Avoid these scamers! Robert

Close your checking account immediatley! I borrowed 300 in october 2012. When I found out they were going to take 90 dollars every 2 out of my checking account with none of that being applied towards my balance, I had my bank put a freeze on that and any future transactions. Vip changed a couple numbers and were able to withdraw the 300 they put into my account.. I closed my account immediately and contacted my banks fraud department which found I did in fact owe the 300 dollars (of course I did). A few weeks later I received an email from them "thanking me for my business and if I needed anything"...in may of 2014 I had a process severer trying to contact me at work for a lawyer representing vip. They were trying to collect the 300 dollars. I found my bank statements and faxed to the new york law firm. They decided not to pursue since the debt was paid. Well now is september 2014 and yet again another law firm is trying to serve me to garnish my wages for this. They said they going after me for this debt and that I can turn around and go after vip. What a nightmare! Stay away from this company it is a huge scam that will follow you for sometime.

I am currently going through everything you all are mentioning..they are calling my work threatening to serve me papers.I'm off today and just got a text from someone at work that they called today threatening again. I spoke to my banker and was advised to close account because if fraudulent activity and open another one.I did this past Friday. So now my account all messed up, the little money I do have is all tied up.It is so frustrating. Plus I've done what I should have before even dealing with the online loans..did research and they aren't even licensed which makes the contract illegal anyhow. Im all for paying what they gave but no more. I have paid that and some and they are still trying to say I owe $ 900 something. It is not right.

I guess we are all in the same boat I went thru VIP Loans and they put me in touch with iggy loans who I stupidly got a loan from 535.00, so far the have taken $225.00 four time with equals $900.00 with nothing going toward the principal amount of the loan, they have charged 45 percent interest on the principal amount of the loan, when I questioned them about this they said since they are out of country interest rates don't apply to them. I believe they do and it is my belief that the Home company for these loan companies in is Kansas City, Kansas(USA)

The same happened to me for $500, and my bank will not reverse funds without proof that I do not owe them (They are not licensed to loan in my state). I need proof that they illegally loaned to me in order to get funds reversed from my bank, does anyone know how to obtain this information?

The same happened to me, and my bank will not reverse the $500 payment without proof that the money was not owed. They are not licensed to loan in my state, so technically I do not owe them the money in return. Does anyone know where I can find documentation on this to submit to my bank so they will permanently reverse the funds?

I recently got a loan from VIP due to needing extra money, I was told as a new customer my payments would be $75.00, to my surprise they took two payments of 150.00 a piece at the same time deducting a total of $300.00 from my account when tryin reach customer service I have been placed on long holds was refuses to speak to a supervisor, when I did speak to one I was told the calls would be pulled and would receive a call back within 24 hours which has never happened. After looking into this I have found their practices are completely illegal in Ohio( the state I live in). I will be seeking legal action.

I have a feeling we just got taken by this company. Me, my husband and my mother all received calls from a company called ACS Group regarding a investigation on my SON for fraud. I called them back, and was told that he took a loan out in December for $500, and when they loan company went to take the payment out of his account, it was returned as NSF. They claimed repeated attempts to reach him, and even said there would be a warrant put out for him within the week if they weren't able to reach him. Being his mom, of course I was panicked, and asked what I could do. I was told that they would "settle" for $500 if I paid it today. If he was going to pay it, it would be the full $945. I asked how they handled it if he was not the one that requested the loan, and they told me they had solid evidence and even quoted me his bank account number. Of course, I paid them in full because I didn't want my son arrested and his vehicle confiscated (all were threats that were stated to me on the phone). After I paid them, I called my son, prepared to completely get on him for not paying his bills, and he said he knew nothing about it. He had never requested a loan from VIP (who ACS said they were acting on the behalf of), he had never even heard of them! We are now requesting documentation from the bank for the amount that they said was deposited in December. I have no idea how they got his bank information, and I have no reason not to believe my son when he says he never requested a loan from anyone online. I am not sure what steps we need to take since I made them send me a letter saying the account was satisfied (which I did receive). Do I just chalk it up to a learning experience? Does my son have grounds to take them to court? I mean, they called his parents and a grandparent, who else did they call? The stories I have read on this page are horrible, and I feel so bad for you all...and now it looks like we get to join you. Has anyone gotten any satisfaction from pushing back on them?

Can anyone tell me if VIP actually went thru and put garnishments on your paycheck? I took a $1000 back in Jan and have paid three times this amount. I want to close my account, but I work for the post office and it is difficult to get to my payroll dept in a different state. I was just wondering if they can make good on the garnishment without the payroll dept. knowing.

I took a loan from VIP a few months ago for $300. they debited the "finance charge" of $90 every two weeks on my payday. They were then supposed to be debiting my account for the $90 plus their partial payment to the principal balance. I chatted online with them to let them know I lost my source of income and they told me to send a letter to that affect to show that I did. I told them due to July 4th holiday I would not be able to get documentation until the 8th (today). They said no problem they would postpone the payment so they can then see if they could work it out and make arrangements. When I got up today checked my bank balance and was missing $390 Hmmmmm that was the exact amount I owed VIP and sure enough there it was in my bank account a charge from them which basically leaves my family high and dry. So instead of working with me what they did was take all the money in a hurry...against the terms of my loan. Guess they figured better get their money while I had it in the bank. They have broken the terms of my agreement and taken my money. When I called customer service they had the nerve to tell me "if the payment actually goes through" they would send me notice of payment in full and loan being satisfied. REALLY? I DESPISE PEOPLE WHO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OTHERS IN A TIME OF NEED! This is very sad and I pray they get some just due.

Same story as everyone else here. VIP LoanShop are barely legal thieves and the only thing keeping them out of jail is the sad fact that we all agreed to let them steal from us. I applied for and very easily received a $400 loan and opted to have them automatically debit the full amount out of my very next paycheck so I wouldn't have continuing interest charges. They proceeded to bleed over $1, 600 out of me over the next few months, even after I called several times and told them to stop. They claim they cannot stop taking money until they get that "one full payment of the original loan", which in my case was paid 4 times over at this point, and you will not get any money refunded for the overages they've been stealing. They have a verbal agreement process when you are approved where you must call in to verify who you are, the loan amount, employment, and your payment options (next paycheck, over several pay checks, etc.) and they claim to record these conversations. When I called to dispute they used that "fact" against me saying I made a verbal agreement and they had it on my recorded conversation. I asked them to provide that recording to me and of course the "supervisor" wasn't there to do so (he/she is NEVER there in the office). After several more calls back they amazingly claimed they they could find no record of the recorded conversation where I told them I didn't want them to take monthly payments until the end of time, "the recording was most likely destroyed". Interesting...I was honestly expecting them to apologize and call the account closed since they took FOUR TIMES the amount of money from me than they loaned me but oh no, they STILL claimed they could not stop the bi-weekly debits. I hung up & went directly to my bank to issue a stop payment but you have to specify the amount and here's the catch, VIP LoanShop CHANGES THE DOLLAR AMOUNT EVERY TIME TO PURPOSELY AVOID ACH BLOCKS! Unless you can guess the exact dollar amount they will hit you for the next time, they will continue to get their money. So you must block all debits, which means you can no longer use your ATM card or any other legit auto payments you have (rent, car, etc.), or you must close your account completely and reopen a new one. Just make sure not to link the two accounts together because the bank will reach back to your "backup" account to pull any outstanding ACH withdrawals, transfer your money to the new one & nuke the old one completely. The fun comes when they realize they can no longer steal your money out of an account that doesn't exist any more so they resort to the phone threat tactics...fake credit & collection bureaus, attorneys, legal actions, employer wage garnishments, blah blah blah. Truth is they can no longer touch your money unless you provide them with another form of payment (please don't do this, even out of fear they will call your employer, ruin your credit, take you to court). They simply cannot do any of these things because do the math...you borrowed a certain amount and they continued to take way above and beyond that amount which means they owe YOU money and if you have the means (a few hundred bucks for filing & court time, etc.) they would be ordered to repay you in civil court. I also blocked their main number that was robo-calling me 2-3 times a day but of course the "human" losers that work for them will call from random numbers. I personally like to waste their time because they either get paid by the hour or by commission only and the more time you waste of theirs, the less money they take home at the end of the day so they'll eventually give up on you. Had an hour long conversation with a total lowlife [censored] collector today that thought he knew some law terminology but all he was doing was reading his script word-for-word to me without stopping. Bottom line is the only way these scam artists are ever going to go away is if we stop borrowing from them. Honest citizens turn to them in a time of need and look what they do to us. VIP Loan Shop employees are total dishonest ### of the earth, every last one of them. Stop giving them your money now!

I made the mistake of borrowing from VIP Loan Shop. I took out a loan for $1, 000.00 in Feb. 2013. I wish I had done some research before I borrowed from them. So far they have overdrawn my account twice. They have called me every Saturday for the past 3 weeks. I looked them up and found that they are not licensed in my state. So it turns out my loan apparently is illegal, which I didn't know until yesterday. Regardless of what VIP tells you, State laws DO apply to them no matter where they are located. If you go to the Department of Financial Regulation site you'll see whether or not they are licensed in your state. I reported VIP to the Better Business Bureau, the State Corporation Commission and the Federal Trade Commission. I also reported them to the state attorney general, and tommorrow I'm going to call all three of the credit unions and put a fraud alert on my SSN and close my checking account. Luckily they haven't put me in massive debt. Hopefully it will stay that way. I have Legal Services through my job & I've already emailed them about my situation. Hopefully this will all be over very soon and I won't lose any more money than I already have. It's unbelievable that with the amount of complaints I've seen online that this company hasn't been put out of business. By the way, if they threaten you in any way, that is illegal. If they call me again I'm going to ask them for debt validation letters, and proof of what I've paid so far. People, do NOT get loans over the Internet. They are SCAMS. If you do apply for a loan online, READ AND PRINT OUT the loan agreement. I was a complete idiot. I will never make this costly mistake ever again.

I too have been scammed by vip loan shop. I had never heard of this company until the night of Nov. 19, 2012 when I recieved an email from them stating they had been unsuccessful in contacting me and that they were deopsiting 400.00 into my account that I had applied for. I had never heard of them and had not applied for a loan. The next morning on Nov. 20, 2012 I checked my account and found that they had indeed deposited 400.00 into my account. I don't know how they got my banking information. I went to my bank and got their help in reversing that deposit. The bank representative called the number associated with the deposite and had them take the money back. On the morning of Nov.21, 2012 I checked my account at 530am and saw that the took their 400.00 back. When the bank opened at 9am I was there and closed by account. Two days later I got an email from the bank stating my account was overdrawn, I call the bank and explained again what was going on and asked who was trying to debit my account since I had no outstanding checks and no automatic drafts. They told me vantage funding had attempted to deduct 30.00 from my account but the bank denied the transaction and charged me an overdraft fee. After discussing the matter further the bank waived the overdraft fee. It is ashame I had to close my account I had with this bank for 8 years. I still don't know how they got my banking information.

Thank you for posting this information. Good thing I saw this page first. Your input helped. Why is this company still operating?! What legalities do they use that allow them to do what they do? I'm all for closing this company down! Better Business Bureau should look into this.

I too just had the worst experience with this scam of a company. Last month I took out a loan for $300.00 even though I was skeptical. While talking with the rep I asked her on numerous occasions what would the amount be I was responsible for paying back. She informed me that on the 30th they would take out $135.00 which was the interest fee and if I called in before the next payment was due I could pay off the balance. So today I called because I wanted to pay the $300.00 and be done with this instead of constantly having someone going in my account. I was informed that on the 30th although I made a payment a loan extension fee of $90.00 had been added bringing my balance owed to $435.00 which left me baffled because that is not what I was told. I spoke with a supervisor who was of no assistance at all. This company is a complete rip off and I told him I guess they will be taking me to court because I am NOT giving them another dime other than what I owe.So I will be calling my bank to stop payment on anything other than $300.00 dollars and the account will be closed. Whatever you do please STAY AWAY from this company!

I took out a loan for $200.00 about 2 weeks ago, and today on my payday they took out $30.00 on my bank account. i called them and asked why they only took out $30.00 and she said according to the terms and conditions, we are supposed to contact them 3 days in advance to give them a pay arrangement instructions to whether we want to pay in full on our pay date or make payments. That is what we need to do if we make further transactions with this company.

Skmonte, VIP are scammers. There is no legal way they can garnish your wages bc they are illegal and depending on your state, they are more than likely not even licensed to do business. They are trying to scare you into paying them.

I took out a $420.00 loan w/VIP, back in Jan.of this year. I stopped paying after 2 payments. I get a call today from someone local saying they were representing the company, and if I couldn't make arrangements to pay off the $800.00 that has occured, my wages would be garnished; 30%. To top it all off, that garnishment would just be for the principal, not the actual payment. I hung up on the guy. Has anyone experienced this?

This company has stolen 920.00 from me and 1016.00 from my husband. They try to say you signed your state's rights away and are under West Indies Law. They will try everything. When the class action lawsuit comes about, I am definitely on board. I feel like people should sue them for their illegal collection techniques as well. You can sue them for 1, 000.00 each time they break the law. I would tell them I am recording each and every conversation. They can't sue you because they are ILLEGAL!

I too am dealing with this company. I borrowed $500.oo and have already paid $450.00 for fees. I chatted last week with a rep to pay $200.00 toward the balance and then the following week they could take out the fee on pay day. After the entire chat she said the balance would be $450.00. I told her that the $200.00 would be for the balance of original loan. She then explained that $150.00 was for the fee and $50.00 went towards the loan amount even though I had told her earlier to not included the fees in that amount, use it all to reduce the original amount and take the fees the following week. She said that she had set it up for the following week because their system does no allow you make a payment early, on on the due dates. So far, once they take the $200.00, I will have paid $650.00 for a $500.00 loan. What a joke. How can they ever have any returning customers. I have used other companies and the loan fees are a one time shot. I also agree with the lack of return calls or emails. I was surprised to be able to get through with a chat. It did ask me at the end of chat if I wanted an email of the chat conversation and I said yes. As I hit submit, it said error with the system. Funny, I never did receive that email. Maybe they are not smart enough to know how to do a return call or email. Its a shame what we have to do in desperate times and how people take advantage of us.
I wish I could figure out how to spread the word, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. I would be interested in a class action law suit if it ever came about.

This company needs to be shut down! I experienced so much stress brought on by this company taking my very limited and hard-earned money. I took out a $500 loan at the end of August. I only wanted to pay the extremely high interest ($150) once. Therefore, I planned to pay off the loan out of my first paycheck (9/15/11). I called several times three days in advance (of 9/15/11) before 5pm as instructed. I would be on hold for a long period of time, them automatically sent to voicemail. I left several messages stating that I wanted to pay the loan in full ($650) on 9/15/11. I also sent an email as instructed to do so three days in advance by 5pm. On approximately 9/27/11, I received a notice asking which payment option I wanted to pursue towards the $500 loan. I thought this notice was an error given I had instructed them to take out the full loan amount plus interest ($650) on 9/15/11. I then realized that they had only taken out $150 (interest) on 9/15/11...and NOT the full loan pay off amount as I had instructed them on 9/12/11. I immediately attempted to call...no answer after several phone calls...only voice mail. I left sooooo many messages explaining that the loan should have been paid off on 9/15/11. I also sent several email messages stating the same...no response. On my next pay period (9/30/11), they debited another $150. I once again called and emailed frantically explaining that the I had instructed them to debit the full amount of the loan plus interest on 9/15/11. I further stated that I was not going t pay another $150 in interest as a result of there error! Therefore, I told them to debit another $350 ONLY...and that would result in my loan being paid in full. I eventually spoke to [supposedly] supervisors...one name Heather and another name Gary (who said he was director of customer services). Both very rudely/unprofessionally told me that I would still have to pay the extra $150 in interest plus the $500 (if I wanted topay the loan off and avoid further fees). They refused to reimbursed or deduct the $150 interest. Even when I presented a copy of the email sent on 9/12/11 at 4:46pm EST stating to debit the full loan amount on 9/15/11. They told me that I should have checked my bank statement for confirmation of the debit on 9/15/11. I told them not to debit the $500 and that I was going to [first] pursue action via higher authority to be reimbursed the $150. However, after I went online for less than 5-minutes...I read so many horror stories about VIP. I therefore decided that I wanted to pay them off and not have anything further to do with them. I called back and paid the $500 via my bank's debit card. Based on what I read...it would be better for me to take a $150 loss than to deal with "the devils" at this unethical and immoral company! This company advertise as being reflective of integrity and quality customer services. The latter is such a lie! Instead, they prey on monetarily disadvantaged people...and that is just down right EVIL. fthstrong@aol.com

I got a 200 dollar loan. They only deposited 155 dollars in my account because of some fees that they took out that were probably BS just so they wouldn't have to loan me up to 200 dollars. I still had to pay back the full balance of 260 dollars with the 60 being interest. They will only take out a minimum of 60 dollars every pay period which just pays the interest and you still have your 200 dollar balance with them and then that's how they scam you out of your money. You have to call them at least three days before your scheduled minimum payment or all they will take out is the interest until you pay your balance in full. They are really tricky so you have to watch out.

I applied for a loan with another online company which deposited 300.00 in my account. I looked up and VIP had deposited 300.00 without my permission and had taken their first payment out. I called and asked them about it and was told I applied for it. I never filled out any paperwork with them. I am thinking of doing the same thing closing that bank account.

I took out a loan from them, and have not paid them back yet. Should I pay them back? I closed the account that they had on file. I don't know what to do? My email is firetamer59@yahoo.com. If anyone can help, please let me know. Chris

I gave all of my information, my routing and checking account number, however that's as far as I got. My heart did not feel right. I did not sign or check anything once it told me I was approved. I just clicked off the page and that was that. Do I still need to be worried about debits because they have my account information or because I did not agree and finalize the paperwork with signatures am I okay? Please advise...

They have also had the same thing happen to me. I took out a loan for $300 and for 5 months my account was being deducted random amounts. 90, 130, 60, 49.. When I realized they have taken nearly $700 from me I called them to see what was going on and they never answered. For two weeks I was getting sent to voicemail. So I finally decided to just close my bank account and take the loss. I am now getting phone calls saying that I still owe them an additional $350 which is completely absurd! They are completely fraudulent and wreckless with their practices and need to be shut down! Avoid this company at all costs. I have taken out a loan from another company after this one for more money, paid them off in full long ago and this one still lingers. They will rob you blind as long as they have your acct info!

I also barrorrowed from two online places and made high payments and they want paid in full. They have harassed me at work and home threatening to take me to court for fraud. I talked to the state dept. on this manor and they said they cant get you for fraud and never has seen a case where one was taken to court. To close checking account call them back not letting them know you did. Just ask for your balance in a regular calm conversation and tell them you would like to get payment down due to you changed your job self employed and give them a boggess salary(lie). This will give them different info. so they wont call your work. Also it would be a good idea if you stop payment on your ach (debits) with all lenders so they cant reopen account forcefully. These people that run these places are running out of reservations and over seas and will bleed your checking account out till YOU STOP IT. You may change your phone number. But the state says just hang up every time eventually the will stop threatening and bother others they are actually continuing to get money out of there bank. Hope this helps everyone. Take action now. Its your money. Think about it. Regular loan companies do not do this. They just give it to a credit company and we can pay on these with low payments we can afford. This is the biggest scams online to get everyones money that already has poor credit or desperate for money now due to the economy the way it is now. Its highway robbery. Dont worry they cant hurt you. GOOD LUCK. Let me know how it turns out. Msch1959@yahoo.com

Screw VIP. They will try every trick in the book to get your money. I got a 500.00 loan from them two years ago and paid it off completely. When they continued to take money from my account, I called and spoke to two different people who did nothing to help me after promising to refund the money. I eventually closed my bank account. They called so much that I had to change my phone number. They would always threaten court action and try to use legal language in an attempt to get my new information. Just today, they called me from a fake number in my area code claiming to be a law firm that was retained by VIP. They actually had the nerve to ask for my new bank account information and employment info. Here's what I know: 1.They have stolen lots of money from me and many others who have posted their stories online. 2. They are not licensed to make loans in any states where licensing is required. 3. They will lie outright about who they are and what they are trying to do. If you have a loan with them, CLOSE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! Dont cave into the pressure that they try to apply on you to try to get more money.
