I just told Verizon to shut off my home phone.

Verizon stated zapping me with additional charges for blizzard entertainment. We are both 50 years old and don't play online games. We finally got that stopped, but we had to pay the bill.
We also told them that all charges not related to phone calls need to be stopped or we would have to cancel. They then told us that they can put a note in our account but it would not positively stop those charges. How can this be?

We then told them to stop the auto payment and to change us back to a paper bill. They said okay and we left it at that.
This only took about 15 hours of wasted time. We wanted the right to dispute before we pay.

It took 2 months to stop the auto deduct and still no paper bill (August). Now its October and we still have no paper bill.We call them and they say they can't do that. Finally after 5 phone calls and about 5 hours of wasted time we get someone to agree to change it to paper billing. He then agrees to email us a bill so that we can get it cleared up.
Guess what? They send us a link to their online services. Not a copy of the bill.

I now have a cancel order in my hand by phone.

Now I will cancel my Verizon Wireless as punishment. I'm going to be Verizon FREEEEE!!!

Customer Service lies at each turn after making you wait for hours. Maybe they are just inept or is it sabotage?

Cancel Verizon. Make them pay.
