I tried the usell.com website knowing that it was probably a scam, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to send in some old phones that were lying around collecting dust. They promised money for cell phones sent in, as long as it could power up, make phone calls, and the lcd screen was undamaged. I received a quote for two cell phones, that both meet the requirements previously stated, on 11/03/10. These phones were in perfect working order. The first quote was for an lg envy 2 and was for just under $30 the second quote for for just under $20 for an lg chocolate 2. After waiting nearly 2 months I figured my assumption was correct and it was a scam, but I received an email saying my check was in the mail. I received a check on 12/29/10 for $9 stating that if it was for the wrong amount it was because my phone didn't meet the requirements. I have yet to receive any communication about the second phone. The company does not provide a customer service phone number and even though you are provided with a user name and password I have yet to find a way to login and check on my account. I have also received no responses to my emails sent to their customer service department. Long story short this is a nice idea but it is a scam. I hope they truly recycle the phone, but don't send in a phone expecting money in return.

I sent in a near mint Blackberry Passport phone. It shows they received it two weeks ago. I have sent two emails asking where my payment was and why it was taking so long. No replies, nothing, and they still have my phone. It is a shame they seem to have loads of complaints about them not paying for phones they received. They are thieves!

I had sent my phone in around 4/10/15 and they sent me an email stating that they had received my phone. "Note" I had not done anything to the phone before I sent it to them other then like they asked, to wipe it clean. I then waited about a month or so and I had not heard or seen anything in the mail. Then about a week ago I got an email stating that the price the quoted me was now going to be reduced because my phone would not make any calls. That just made no sense to me so i declined the offer and had my phone sent back to me. Well i recieved my phone today 5/26/15 and now there is no SIM card in the phone which is required for the phone to make a call. I did not know there was a SIM card in the iPhone until a week ago when my boss had to switch phones! So now I cant even sell my phone to anyone because it doesn't have the SIM card. I'm pissed

Mailed in a one year old Microsoft cell phone, was promised $148.00. That was last July. Four calls to them, four false promises made to me, and still nothing!

Why don't you just donate them to the armed forces or abused women's networks, or if you need a new phone? Trade it in when new models come out and get $300 off the newest model iPhone or android, etc. If you need cash, sell it on CraigsList, or your older ones at a garage sale, flea market, or donate, as mentioned, above. You'll get a tax write-off, do a good deed, save yourself aggravation and avoid being scammed!

Thank God. I was trying to sell a blackberry and a iphone . Both in flawless(term they use) condition. Told me $4.80 for blackberry and supposedly had no intention of buying I phone. I just started laughing . They must be crazy .I only checked them out to see if their ad on TV was true ...The blackberry is only three years old and the iphone is a year old ...Thank God I read the reviews ...I think I will give them to the armed forces or a domestic program ...You guys and gals need to sue them if what you say is true about your situation..

They ripped me off too. Reported them to both the FTC and the Attorney General.

Everyone should just request the pre-paid mail in bag that they provide, and then take a big dump in it and mail it to them.

I recently sent in two Motorola cell phones on separate orders and received two checks for the exact amount they indicated for both phones in very good condition. it only took two weeks from when they acknowledged receiving the phones to receive my checks. It's not a scam

For goodness' sake! Why would you keep sending stuff to these people when you see what's happened to the others who sent phones to them. It doesn't make any sense to me that you would think you'd be treated any differently than the other victims. Stop sending phones to them. They can't cheat you if you don't send anything to them. Stop being so gullible! Instead of looking at what you might get, donate to a charity and use it as a tax write off. I had a few phones that I was planning to send to Usell but after I read all the complaints I said "No way". There is something to making informed decisions. "Once bitten, the dog's fault. Twice bitten, your fault".

When something sounds too good to be true, they usually (99%) are rubbish!
They use the old phones and sell them abroad, usually a third world country, for almost the face value knowing that Consumer protection doesn't exist in those countries!
They then simply change the name of their scam companies and continue business as usual!
All you need are 5 people to file a Class Action Law Suit! If you are willing to do that, I will file a class action law suit and put them out of Business!

I saw USELL.COM advertised on TV and decided to check them out. I'm so glad I did. When I saw all the dishonesty they're involved in, I knew I'd steer clear of them. I hope you have a successful resolution in a class action suit. These complaints are old enough that USELL should already be closed down. I wonder why they haven't been shut down.

I sent in a nice, untouched Blackberry Phone to this company. It was quoted at $48. The mailer envelope came quickly, I placed the phone, and being generous, also included the charger, earphone and what accesories I could. I figured, why not give them everything, I have no use for it.
Then several days later I received this email...

We're processing your order as we speak.
We're just dotting our I's and crossing our T's to make sure your phones match your information and the quote you received. When that's done, we'll send you an email letting you know the status of your payment.
In the meantime, pat yourself on the back for being so environmentally cool. And spread the word to your friends and get them to do the same!

Thanks,
Doug Feirstein
CEO
www.uSell.com
P.S. Your check amount, if any, may be different than the quote you received if you sent in fewer phones or a different cell make or model than what was quoted.

Please do not reply to this email. To connect with someone in our Customer Support area, email us at support@uSell.com.

I then sent an email to the support address...only to get a logon template to discuss it. I did that and now it sits as an open issue, with nothing replied to or commented on since then. That was on 5/21/11...I could have turned it into Verizon, my cell phone company, for $24, like I did with several other phones and got credit within 3 business days. How many T's are you crossing and I's are you dotting?

I'm glad I researched this before sending...I looked threw there website which it has nothing on there and there is nothing stating in a policy that there is no returns or a guarantee that you will get what they quote. So right there was a red flag for me and should be for everyone thinking about this...I will be with anyone who has complaints and scams with these financial terrorists...investigation is what I do for a living and love to watch these scamming ### burn where they stand...nathan.stalzer@yahoo.com

I sent in an iPhone 4 quoted at $170. I've received $0 after 4 months. I sold to TheWirelessWarehouse. I thought Usell was legit due to the commercials on TV. I'm confinced they're running a scam to collect used phones for resale. Wish they could be stopped. If I has found this list before doing business with them I wouldn't have sent them my phone.

Thank God I found the "uSell" scam site! My goal this morning was to arrange to sell 3 of my cellphones, and like many others, I watch a lot of TV and figured they were legit. Boo to USELL ! After reading these complaints I'll be donating them to the local hospital. They in turn give them to people who REALLY need them!

I also have had the same problem.
First they made a quote, never received my envelope, so a month later I requested another and accepted my new reduced quote.
2 months after I first started this, I was finally sending out my phone, well before the offer was to expire.
I waited, over a month, never got any update e-mails like they claim they will send.
Now it is over 2 months since I mailed them my phone, and 4 months since I started all this, and still no check or update e-mails.
Customer Service via e-mail is a joke, and there is no true Telephone Customer Service, just a number that has voice message which tells you Thank You, e-mail us, then cuts off and hangs up on you. Complete BS customer service. However, I did get ahold of them via e-mail. Took several days but finally someone returned an e-mail requesting my 'order' status. They informed me that They had received my phone, but now its worth nothing, even though it met all the criteria for their quote. All this time, no update e-mails, I was thinking my phone was lost in the mail, but no, they recycled it, 2 months ago, and neglected to tell me anything about receiving it, appraising it, nothing.

Looked into the BBB, and they have a big fat F, and are no where near accredited with the BBB.
Yet, if you go to their website right now, theres a BBB accredited Logo that says they are.
If this doesn't say Liars and Scam Artists to you, then what will?

Time for a Class Action Lawsuit, I am currently looking into it.
When I e-mailed Usell back, and told them I had a big problem and if this wasnt corrected I would take further action, Boy did I get a Prompt E-mail, several actually, wanting to call me tomorrow to work this out. I told them to call me now, tomorrow may be too late, if they can e-mail me, they can call me... Now the e-mails have stopped... am I wrong to imagine them Shaking in their Boots right now?

@tinram65

Hey you knob, what the hell would taking a picture of the phone you sent in make any difference. How do you prove the one you sent was the one you took a picture of. Da?
Maybe if you took a video of the phone being put in the envelope and than video the trip to the post office and dropping it off, but YOU COULD STILL stop, replace the phone and edit the TAPE.

SO WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT PROVE?

Out of all the posts on this company or should I say scam artist. I did not see anything about anybody taking any pictures of their phones that were sent in. You know they say a picture is worth a thousand words! Sorry to hear about all the you folks that were ripped off! And the guy who posted he worked for them, you ought to be very proud of yourself to be a part of a scam like this. Especially during these difficult times. Do you not think? all these people actually knew what they purchased to begin with. I mean hell ! I know what phone Im using right today. And if I was to sell it, I'd damn sure know what model and brand it was. I hope someone out there is actually investigating your company, becuase it really sounds to me that USELL, needs to be taking down! Good luck to whoever decides to deal with this ghost company! Beacuse I sure wont!
