US Bank overdraft fees

I wrote a paper check the evening that my social security check was to be deposited and checked my online account. Nothing went thru on the 20th and I had a positive balance. On the 21st my ssa deposit of a mere $237 was deposited. When I checked the balance online on the 21st, I noticed they had back-tracked and changed my balance info on the previous day, the 20th, to make my account balance a negative of $10 and then they proceeded to rob me of a $35 overdraft fee. That is food taken out of my child's mouth. I asked if they would reverse this charge and they refused.
As soon as I get set-up with a new bank and change my direct deposits I will close my usbank account and I hope others do too. I never signed up with usbank, they bought my bank of 20 years, downey savings and now I understand they are buying up more banks so that they can be more like a monopoly and take advantage of customers such as myself.
I don't know how a paper check written at a store can go through instantly (electronically) without the store or bank even telling the customer.
I wrote a paper check so that I would have a copy of the check I wrote to prove what day I wrote it, and now I can't even get a cop y of that check I wrote.

US Bank lost my deposit

This bank is a joke! I made a deposit for around $2500 dollars in a check form, and they lost the check. I have proof of the deposit and a letter from the Cameron Park Branch stating they lost my check. They now want me to contact the source I received the check from and see if it has been cashed. Since they may have deposited it into someone else account my receipt clearly has my account number on it. However I'm a contractor and do not want to contact my client with this error the bank has made and look like an idiot. I could lose business for causing a hassle with my client. The bank could care less they just want their money. What a joke. They could care less about this making me look bad. All they want is their money. They never even apologized for this inconvenience. They should just eat the money that they clearly lost or deposited into another account.

US Bank unwarrented nsp fees

US Bank has scammed us out of over 1, 000 in fee's this month, due to NSP charges, which were caused to them holding a check for over 4 days on two seperate occasions. The caused these overdraft fee's to accumulate, and still allowed charges to be made and go through, even though my husband doesn;t even have direct deposit. I get declined when I try to charge something, but they let his account get racked up to -500.00 in 2 days even though funds where deposited, and has a positive pending balance! We live paycheck to paycheck to begin with, and due to them screwing us and not reversing anything, we have now gone into debt. Joe Massey, the Branch Manager of the Denver location, located off of Colfax and Monaco basically told us to shove it and find another bank. True US Bank customer Service at it's best. I was a manager for over 7 years and would never treat an employee like this, and if I did, I would have lost my job. Since when can Large corporations get away with murder? Since when do custoemrs have no rights, and banks dictate how much money they are going to steal from us? I have over 30, 000 in student loans, my home loan, and three bank accounts through US BANK, and will be closing ALL OF THEM because OF JOE MASSEY alone, and his horrible customer service and lack of compassion, concern or managerial priorities to his loyal customers, who is done being loyal, and now is pissed off that he got away with this. You have a waged a war against a wife with to much time on her hands, because you decided to screw over my husband. Congrats on a job well done today.

US Bank od fees/old balance

I received a phone call last week from an attorney stating that I need to call him back asap. I have cleaning up my credit for the past year so this worried me. I check my credit every year to ensure that I am not missing anything. I called the attorney, which was extremely rude, he stated that I owed US Bank 1900.00 as of last year! What? I haven't done business with this bank in over 2 years, never once received a notice that there was an outstanding balance and it is not reflected on any one of the 3 credit reporting agencies. He stated that he was going to file for a wage garnishment in two weeks. I told him that I was legally entitled to an itemized detail of the account. He then stated that he wasn't going to do the work for me. I told him that I didn't even know where to start, he said call US Bank but they will probably tell you to call Regent. I asked him who has the information? He then stated again to call US Bank but they will probably have me call Regent. I asked him who Regent was, he stated his client. I then stated that if they are your client, you must have their number. He finally provided me with the phone number. I stated that I couldn't make a payment on something I knew nothing about. He was adamint that they sent notification 15 days ago. I am the only one in my house aside from my children and I am the only one with a mailbox key. He stated that I was refusing to pay. I then told him that I never stated I wasn't going to pay, it simply caught me off guard as everything is being taken care of on my credit report. I then called Regent to speak to a guy that was flirting with me the entire time. He stated that I need to reach into my left shoe and pull out $500.00, then reach into my right shoe and pull out $500.00, then hit up my man for the other $500.00 and they will settle it. Number one, what in the hell does my man have anything to do with a company contacting me 2 years later stating that I owe them? Second, who in the hell has $1500.00 just lying around now and days? After speaking to Regent, I was told to call US Bank in Fontana and speak to the branch manager only. I spoke with the branch manager and they stated I would need to go into the bank to obtain the information I needed. The US Bank in Fontana is about 20 minutes from me. Why should I have to go to the branch? I have never had these problems with any other company. I guess I will just have to wait until they take me to court and bring it up to the judge. It is basically their word against mine when it comes to them contacting me, as I stated this is not on my credit report so how would I know that I owe them money when I have never received a statement?

Ha ha ill keep doing this for ever...no one can produce paperwork or I would pay it...I was part of the people done wrong by hebron auto sales scandal...bought a car from hebron auto and they could come up with a title for the car, I lost my car job and home due to that scandal...hebron drained my bank account and closed down car got repo and got paid off I even told them what happened and they said if I sent them a police report they would leave me alone...so I obtained one call to ask where to fax it to...some idiot jumped on the phone told me that it didn't matter if I have a police report or not I need to pay...no way in helli will Pay now I won't have a bank account ever again I refuse to have somave some one control my money...cash only now for me...told them if they want it that bad come get it ill pay in cash...no one showed up. Good thing cause I would have made em vanish...and prolly wouldn't be an open casket funeral either...lol let em take me to court...

I had an account with US Bank for 15 years and I really liked them...until earlier this year. Apparently when I paid my power bill I over drew my account, and the online bill pay service I used resubmitted and kept resubmitting this bill even though I paid it myself. Next thing I know, I get notification from US Bank that my account is closed. Six months later I am getting non-stop calls from a collections agency on late fees I owe a bank for something they never even paid...I am PISSED

I am going through the exact same thing right now! I asked for a bill to prove I own them and they told me it would take a week? WTF and that interest would stil acure! they just sent me over the "bill" which is only a letter threatening to sue me! REGENT IS THE WOREST COLLECTION COMPANY! They have no idea what they are doing and think people are dumb enough to just do whatever they tell you to!

Friday was the first time they contacted me, the account closed over a year ago and they are just now contacting me?

US Bank creative questional overdraft charges

There is no other bank that is more creative in finding ways to create overdraft charges. Now I’m not stupid. I am a network administrator and I have a masters degree, yet there is no way I can understand how they are able to twist and distort charges and deposits so that it comes out to their advantage and charge overdraft charges. I monitor our account daily. I think that they arrange it so that the latest charges are brought in in the last few minutes of the banking day so they can make the overdraft chargtes when it is too late for the user to make any adjustments. I have checked the balances at 11 and 11:30 pm and then 3 or 4 more charges come in in the last couple of monutes, make you overdrawn and then stick you with multiple charges. I have asked them about that and they deny that, but the lowly rep on the phone doesn’t have any say or knowledge of the sneaky techniques used higher up the ladder. I just got off the line with a rep and the way they figure things just doesn’t make sense.
- I’m looking at an item 15 or 20 lines down on my account
- A 70$ item that reduces the balance from 270 to 200$ OK?
- But according to the rep, the way THEY figure it, there is a negative balance. They say if you add the latest items that have not even posted plus others they somehow say that my actual balance is more than 100$ in the NEGATIVE.
- So I say if that is the case why the hell don’t they show it as negative instead of positive, and they say that it is up to me to keep a ledger to monitor any charges that might come in at the last minute. I’ll tell you why they don’t tell you its actually in the negative, because they make billions of $ on overdraft charges. That’s right billions. The government is moving to pass legislation to end this type of CREATIVE OVERDRAFT CHARGES. It’s a real cash cow for these banks and they don’t want to lose it.
I read that Chase bank is one of the worst offenders but I’m sure that US Bank is right up there close. I would certainly recommend that you NOT chose us bank. There are better ones out there to choose from.

The bank takes into account charges that are authorized but not yet posted, so basically, what you are saying is that you are spending more than you have in the account and crossing your fingers that it wont post until you get the balance back up. Not too smart for someone with a master's degree. I understand playing that game when you are a broke college student, but don't you think its about time to grow up and live within your means?

US Bank is the head of an institutionalized criminal banking system that robs law abiding citizens of their hard earned cash with ridiculously outrageous fees and overdraft charges. 9 months of laborious jargon I expended on this now defunct account which was illegally opened that you say i still owe money on. I am In favor of US Bank giving us all of our money back and letting us keep our life savings under our matress pad wear it belongs.

I agree. US Bank has even admitted to me on the phone how he(the manager) changes the withdrawl to Benefit the bank. I did keep a ledger as others have suggested, and watch the numbers change online from day to day.

Recently He said he took all the withdrawls at the end of the day and pays the largest first, smallest last. In this case I overdrafted by .28 cents. He then moved that lesser charge to the top of the ledger, including overdraft fees, and made everything else come up overdrafted. FOr a .28 cent overdraft that should have cost me a whopping $37.78, I was billed $150.00 in overdraft fees. If I had failed to get money in to cover that fee, I would have been billed an added $8.00 per day..

I think someone needs a new calculator at the bank. Because the their numbers do not match the rest of the worlds.

Bank of America, Citicorp, and Chase are the worst.
I used to have an account with US Bank and they seemed to be a great outfit. OTOH, I always kept a large amount in the checking account and never had an overdraft.

US Bank cash advance scam

Two Incidents.
Starting with the most recent.

2 days ago on Tuesday September 22nd I made a Cash Advance on my account after noticing my account had been over-drafted due to a check that I had expected went through already. I made this Cash advance for $80.00 to bring my account to a positive $38.00.

US Bank Online Banking support assures that Cash Advancing is instantaneous, it is instant. US Bank branches will tell you that Cash Advancing takes 24 hours to process. I have many plenty of Cash advances and they have all been instant at that very minute, I have covered over drafts, I have advanced extra money that I spent 'THAT DAY'.

4 hours after making this cash advance on the 22nd, I proceeded as normal, I needed to pick up groceries and household necessities. I spent $4 at Safeway and $3 at Fred Meyer that day using debit card.

Being cautious as I am with US Bank, I checked online banking once again after making those debit card purchases. NOW, Cash Advance says its (pending) as are the 2 debit card purchases.

On the 23rd, 2 more overdraft fees are accessed to my account, these overdraft fees were from the 2 debit card purchases. On the 23rd, the Cash Advance shows up AFTER the 2 debit card purchases.

What the hell?

I call my bank branch to get the most rude banker(I know everything about the bank that I have worked for, for 11 years-person) and she tells me that this is ALL my fault. Basically it was my fault that Online Banking does NOT reflect the true balance that NEITHER my home bank branch or online banking has.
I was transferred to Online Banking phone number at 1-800-USBanks and they told me I was lieing, I did my cash advance on the 23rd at 11:30:26am.

1. I would NOT have gone to Safeway and Fred Meyer without doing a cash advance first.
2. That time they told me was when Cash Advance was DONE pending, NOT when I click 'I agree' to have the funds advanced-WHICH they told me the time was when I CLICKED that button.

So lesson be learned.
.ALWAYS Print or Screenshot cash advances to show date and TIME!

..Cash advancing in internet banking IS NOT instant(according to bank branches) BUT WAIT, IT IS INSTANT (according to online banking support themselves)

...US BANK has their own loopholes to generate them more money off of over-drafting and cash advancing. They are liars. They have rude customer service. All they care about is every penny they can collect.

By the way, I've been banking with them for over 15 years, and got treated like they don't care.

::Second Instant

To be quick and blunt. I deposited 2 separate checks for over $100.00. I then withdrew 100.00 from the ATM to have my available funds in cash.

Us Bank holds all funds except for 100.00.

I had plenty of money in this bank account, and had TWO pending debit charges.

The next day I had a negative balance. What happened was those 2 debit charges counted TOWARD my 100.00 available funds, HOW?
Even with TWO checks deposited, STILL only $100.00 is available, not $100 for each check.

Basically, I got overdraft charges for my 2 pending debit charges, and 2 overdraft charges for each check that was DEPOSITED. Total deposit and money in bank with checks fully gone in would have been $350.00 roughly.

What happened is after all the overdraft charges was accessed that day, both checks were still being processed, the next morning not even the checks could cover the overdraft charges and it remained negative for weeks til I told them they were not taking any more money from me.

In no way, shape or form, should the bank overdraft more money than the deposits you put in. Instead they ended up taking over $700 because I had 2 debit charges pending when I decided to withdraw my $100 available funds from ONE check.

Why has this bank not been brought down? Scammers.

I have had an account with US Bank for 18 months,

I made a deposit by ATM on Friday in the amount of 1, 100. The weekend came and went and I made my daily purchases at the local gas station. Well, Tuesday night I get home from school and check my account. SIX ODs on the account, $210 in total. Whoa I said. I called the 1-800 # and talked to a very nice female named Kristy. Kristy stated that I have never went neg, nor had any problems with my account. She stated that she saw no reason why I could not get these charges refunded. Kristy was not able to do this for me at the time since it was almost midnight. She stated that she would note the account and I could call the branch the next morning and get it taken care of.

HAHA, the next day I do just that. Well, Amiee, the horrible branch manager is in a meeting and must call me back.
Finally, Amiee calls, she states that it is MY FAULT that the account has the fees and I can only get a refund of $8.00 YES, EIGHT DOLLARS. I asked her about the notes on the account from the conversation the night before. "The notes did not say you could get a refund, and anyway we decide who gets refunds, not the customer service number!"

Now at this point I'm pissed! Amiee goes on the say, "you want me to refund $210 so you can what, go spend more money at Rally's?"

I made the deposit Friday at the ATM, never did my balance go neg. She stated that the deposit was NOT cleared until Tuesday, even though, last time I checked, banks operate on Saturday, and Monday. They could clearly see that 1, 100 was in the account and they still charged me this.

I then asked Amiee who I could talk to so I could complain about her. She stated that I could talk to her boss and that she would call me back when she was done...

US Bank is a joke, they will empty your pockets, taking everything you have for bogus fees.

5 Star Customer Service guaranteed.. HAHA this company should be ashamed of itself!

That's crazy! You would think that the banks want to keep their customers so they would bend over backwards for them. Don't know if you have a citibank near by, but they seem to be pretty good. The only thing is that they have a lot of CSR's that are from foreign lands are hard to understand.

US Bank poor customer service

I setup an equity line over the phone and was told the line would be for a certain amount and rate. However when I went to use the line the rate I was charged was different (2 percentage points higher). Apparently with their premier equity line there is no one single rate, you get charged a different rate depending on how much you 'withdraw' from it.
That is not the bad part, the really bad part is that when I called to complain I was treated like crap, Michelle (id 77750) told me rudely 'it is not our fault' we sent you a contract or statement that listed what the rates and conditions were, you should have reviewed it. I agree with her I should have, but when I asked her repeatedly to admit that the bank could do a better job of explaining these things 'verbally', all she said was 'we sent you the terms and conditions', 'that is all we have to do'.

Crap service in my opinion, will be changing banks.

I purchased a laptop with my USBank Checkcard on 03/30.It was damaged I contacted the merchant who tried to make the manufacturer deal with it and vice versa. In April I filed a claim with USBank -rep said to wait for there response if they needed any additional info they would request it.May 17th I check my acount and the temporary creadit was reversed with no notice.I contact Cheryl in the checkcard disputes, an absolutely ignorant person that will hardly return phone calls and is extremely rude. Her reply is that she sent out a request for info. Not true. She says she is not really sure what I should do to proceed?!Then tells me to ship the laptop back to the store with delivery confirmation.I was told once that I provided proof of shipping with delivery confirmation back to store that the claim would be reopened and that I should not need to do anything else.I printed out the usps label with delivery confirmation and called back with it the same day.She repeated the number and verified it as a legit number via usps website. The funds were put back in the account a couple of days later.Flash forward 2 months.Friday my account appeared normal.Saturday morning I see they withdrew the funds again.I called customer service. They tell me Cheryl added other casenotes requesting a warranty?! and then sees the notes were added mistakenly to my case. Then she has me repeat the tracking number said Cheryl had put it in the file wrong. She tells me Cheryl will call me Monday morning and would fix the issue then.Monday afternoon I call her and after I ask to speak to a supervisor when she was unavailable, USBANK refused saying none were available. She eventually calls to tell me that she denied the claim because the crooked store said they dont have it.I mailed it I have a receipt of shipping info.If they refused the package or delivered it without scanning I am not sure. She said she did request paperwork and I did not respond.Nothing received about this claim at all but do receive statements, offers. She had a nasty attitude I requested to speak to a supervisor who said that their decision is final then states the paperwork was mailed Friday...today is Monday.I'm sure I will not getting anything because the rep is a liar. Thanks for the notice UsBANK if I did not check my account daily I would not know that you took out hundreds without so much as notifying me.Glad you take the word of a company that sells a damaged product and makes no effort to fix it.I have already gotten the direct deposits I had routed into your bank back to my other bank.Account will be closed but not before I post about your shady practices. Not so much as one letter or phone call in 4 months.I will not deal with a bank that can't get things straight, avoids me and is rude.

A paragraph inserted into my regular account statement from my USBank in Centennial, CO, informed me that USBank just completed their periodic update of the "Your Deposit Account Agreement" booklet.

The stated the changes are effective "immediately". (June 1st, 2017), although my statement arrived in the mail on June 30, 2017!

Among other "changes" they "noted", was the addition of a "Cellular Phone Contact Policy"...(copied and pasted word for word below)

"CELLULAR PHONE CONTACT POLICY
By providing us with a telephone number for a cellular phone or other wireless device, you are expressly consenting to receiving communications – including but not limited to prerecorded or artifical voice message calls, text messages, and calls made by an automatic telephone dialing system – from us and our affiliates and agents at that number. This express consent applies to each such telephone number that you provide to us now or in the future and permits such calls regardless of their purpose. Calls and messages may incur access fees from your cellular provider." (end)

This was unbelievable to me when I read it! I do not use a landline phone at all. I use my cell phone for everything and it is my only "phone" line. Basically, they have informed me that by having an account(s) at USBank, I am now consenting to a flood of unwanted telemarking, text messages and the broadcast sharing of my cell phone number to all of their affiliates and "friends". (You are forced to supply a number because of the Patriot Act).

Now I know where the sudden flood of "unknown" numbers and voice mail messages/text messages on my cell phone came from during the last two weeks!

I have checking and savings accounts with over 6 figure balances. My first stop tomorrow is to my bank to cancel my accounts. Next stop will be to my cell phone provider to change my cell number.

This nonsense has gone too far for me. It is time to remind these ego-maniacs that the customer is the reason they are in business, regardless of how much they like to think they are "invinceable".

US Bank turning in car, horrible empoloyee

I had heard really bad things about us bank leases, just before I turned my car in. I was hoping these were just angry people, was not true! The representative that check out my car was impolite and unfriendly - to say the least!@! His name is robert grunau and talked to me grudgingly. I will never lease from us bank again! I am a mom, with a perfect car. I rented from mercedes before, and they were great - very straight forward - no scatches bigger that a credit card. Us bank has strange rules! Do not lease a car from us bank.

I tried to make an online payment for my Volvo car lease and I double checked the account number. I also called them and I was told that everything was fine. Today I happened to find that there was no transfer and they insisted that I inputed the wrong number. I loged in and could not find any evidence in the website. I just leased a 2012 Volvo and of course since Volvo does not handle their own leases anymore US Bank is who I have to deal with. I have not made my first payment yet and I already see US Bank sucks in a bad way! I have leased 2 Jaguars, Mercedes and my last car was an Audi and they all handled their own leases which is a much better experiece for the lease holder. US Bank has no information available on their website and the so-called "lease department" when you call barely knows anything! I can't believe Volvo would have such representation...I have learned a valuable lesson...I will NOT lease another Volvo! US Bank is useless and Volvo needs to reconsider taking on their own leases again.

US Bank home equity loan process

In mid June 2009, my husband and I decided to apply for a home equity loan on our condo in Flagstaff, when our credit card company raised the interest rate on our balance to an unbelievable high. The condo is completely paid off as is our home in Kingman, all our vehicles and our rv. According to our American Express Credit Secure service, we have a credit score of 782. We have a steady monthly income with one payment towards the one credit card.
The process they put us through in the two months since, was unbelievably vague and unprofessional. We never received a loan packet which normally includes an application and request for various documents, such as what we owe, what we earn. Little by little, they would request another document or other and never let us know whether we were going to get the loan, how the application was progressing or anything. The local bank didn't know what was going on. We were completely jerked around. We asked and asked what was going on, what documents did they need. It was always the same answer. 'they're waiting for something or they needed an "additional document". Just today we received notification that we were turned down. We have never been turned down on a loan and are completely disgusted with this bank. Don't use US Bank. We will be closing our account. We used Downey Savings for years and never had any trouble, now that they are US Bank, they have insulted us, lowered our credit score by their refusal and they are unprofessional in their business.

Dear JoAnn Patterson,

Almost word for word our experience with a pending loan with US 'bank has been identical to yours. Although we have more credit card debt due to recent property construction improvements, our FICO was 707 and we have a perfect timely payment record, paying more than the minimum each month. US Bank tried everything to suppress the value of our 16 acres. We are just across the Highway from an Urban Growth Development area. At the edge of an up and coming area, although growth and sales have slowed down, the area is relatively healthy compared to most of the US.

We have a approximately $350, 00 more in "current value" according to comparisons than their appointed appraiser shows. The intention for this loan is to pay down our credit cards, which we would readily agree to US Bank cutting checks directly to them from the escrow.

Like you, we have NEVER been turned down for a home loan in our lives until US Bank fiasco. Over the past years we have purchased six homes.

Admittedly we felt a bit uneasy as they never gave us a loan packet or any application to fill out. When we asked, their manager replied that they don't need an application from us as they submit an application in our behalf. Most of the docouments we submitted were not even requested but we knew that they would be necessary in order to process our loan. Then they waited almost two weeks to respond to underwriting's request for documents, although we had been urging them to fax them over to them.

Had we known that we would be getting the run around for so long, we would have applied elsewhere but they just kept dangling the carrot, with little tidbits of information and insignificant document requests. We even received several letters of acceptance for our loan from US Bank's home office.

We are very active seniors, both with very lucrative businesses, married to each other for 47 years.

Is this a possibility of ILLEGAL AGE DISCFIMINATION or is US Bank safeguarding their excecutive Bonus Monies.

We hope this helps others in their search for a lender of integrity... it certainly is not US Bank in Oregon.

The worst customer service department I've ever experienced. Substandard knowledge and intelligence of representatives. I was transferred numerous times to get to the leasing department. I asked for the direct number so that the next time I called I wouldn't have to go through the maze, but they wouldn't give it to me. The first rep I talked to took all of my information, then said "excuse me, I have to leave now", and then he transferred me to another and then to another. Consumers BEWARE - do not lease through US Bank. Make sure your car dealer reveals the bank to you before you sign.

Wish I had found this site and others before dealing with US bank. The leasing division is the worst of all. The treatment I received from their people was the rudest and most frustrating thing I have ever dealt with. Got even worse when I went to purchase the truck. Their lack of attention to the financing lead to another convieniant addition to the payment when I was tolod their wasnt going to be up front. Don't even get me started about the revolving door they call interest rates.

US Bank wrong overdrafts and unknown accounts

I was a valued bank memeber with us bank for a few years. I closed the acount because I caught them putting overdraft fees on my account for no reason! I had to call five times before someone just admitted they didn't know how that happened. The other reps just tried to figure a way to make it seem like i'm crazy. Fortunately, I got someone after the fifth call that knew it was unexplainable. Anyway, so I closed that account. When I tried to open another account at another bank, I was in the chexsystems for us bank! The other bank rep told me that us bank said I owed them $2, 750.00! So, when I called them to ask wtf, the rep tolp me I had 3 accounts and they all had a balance of over $300.00. I'm in the process getting it resolved, but it doesn't make sense that I have to go through this! Never bank with us bank!

Sounds like employee theft to me. Point the finger at that branch's employees. If any employees were let go during your time banking with them for poor business practices, your account(s) will get linked to that time frame I bet.

US Bank late fee charges

I added my us bank credit card to my us bank bill pay almost 2 months ago received a phone call from them stating that I had not payed my bill... I had assumed that us bank would have provided me with bill alerts being that it is after all their bank and also due to the fact that when I set up the bill pay for their card that they issued me the us bank website stated that the information would be added to my bill pay since they have information on the biller that I was adding... Needless to say, no notice was given and yes a "late fee" was charged for what they claim was "my oversight."

Umm, hello Maggie! I know you replied to another complaint about US Bank and as the other person stated in another complaint, they did check their account online, as well as calling in and checking. The available balance is not correct! I closed my account with them in 2007. In September of 2009 I received a call from an attorneys office stating that I owed $1900.00 to US Bank! I asked how, no one can give me an answer. After going back and forth for the past 4 months, and paying $160.00 a month due to the fear this will go on my credit, still no information. I have never once received any information from US Bank of any charges that went through after I closed the account and of coarse, error on my part, never obtained paperwork stating my account was closed by my decision. I have reported the collection agency to the FTA for an unauthorized transaction and contacted the attorney today. They stated the amount might be from an $8.00 a day fee. I asked for a signature that I agreed to that fee, they stated there was nothing signed, it is in the terms and conditions. Stated that I need proof showing that I was provided the terms and conditions and they can't come up with anything. I will more than likely be taking them to small claims court. Attorney refused to be recorded. Odd, right?

US Bank systems are designed to ensure "customer errors amd ommissions" that generate late fees. It is part of their business strategy. Their credit card site provides no confirmation number for on line payments and then takes no responsibility for payments that they did not receive. They are the only bank/credit card company that I ever have a problem with out of the 13 personal and business accounts that I manage. I think that Balckplatter's mistake was not assuming that US Bank would send an alert but the mistake was assuming the bank was honest, ethical and professional.

What department do you work in at US Bank?

US Bank charge me with fraud

I worked for a company near a us bank, I found out that the company kept all it accounts at the us bank. So I opened a checking account at that us bank, big mistake. My first pay check was placed on hold for over one week. They stated they needed to verify the check. I was promised in writing, after much complaining to have the check released and credited to my account on a specific date. I need to pay my bills and so on that day the check was to be released I sent payments. Well, I found out the check was not released, it was sent to us bank fraud division. They had to check to see if the check was a fraud. Mind you all was need was a call to the company less than a mail away. Us bank claimed this was standard procedure with a check for the amount on my paycheck.. Some $1400.00. After a mouth the what was left of my check was credited to my account. During all this us bank took money, insuffent funds fees out of my check, when one of the checks I wrote came in. I showed the bank manager the letter from them promising me the check would be credited to my account an a specificed date, her rely.."we were investigating a possible fraud"... I was never charged with any crime by us bank or any other agency or person.

Last month (November 2012) I accepted a job as a "Mystery Shopper". I received a check in the mail for $1, 290.00. I contacted the supposed employer and they gave me instructions on how to spend the money and send reports to them. I then deposited the check and waited for it to clear. Once the check cleared, I called the company to advise them. They advised me to follow their instructions on how to spend the funds. I did part of what I was told to do before the check came back as bad. My Bank (U.S. Bank) then closed my account, reported me to Chexsystems and sent my account to collections all in one week. I was NEVER given a chance to correct the issue. Plus, because U.S. Bank reported me to Chexsystems, My secondary bank (Citibank)closed the account I had with them. Personally, I feel this was Bad Business on the part of U.S. Bank because I've had my account with them for approximately 7-8 years and NEVER had a situation like this. Now because I have been reported to Chexsystems, I can't open a bank account. Also, The Collection Agency Harasses me on a daily basis. Is this Legal?

US Bank lease

US Bank "steals" again! Actually, my nickname for US Bank is the
"U Suck" Bank of America...Leased a Honda CRV for four years and turned it into the dealership on the due date. Not one late payment EVER! There were NO Excess Wear & Tear damages. The car was in pristine condition with 2, 000 miles UNDER the lease agreement. Then, a month later, I recieved an "End of the Contract" Termination fee for $420 bucks...WHAT! We've leased prior and have never been charged a penny for FULFILLING the lease agreement. I guess this is why the banks are such a struggling financial institution and need government assistance...yeah right. Not if you're stealing like US Bank! I'm done with them and will NEVER deal with US BANK for anything! I'm writing a letter to the car dealerships and urging them to eliminate US Bank as an option for financing any kind of auto loan. I feel like I have to personally do something to stop the dirty scoundrels!

I am a leasing agent with a large leasing company. I've never seen a lease that did not have a end of term fee. It's usually $250-$500. The company you should be angry with is the dealership you leased it from. They knew when they leased it from you, there was a fee. You should also be angry with yourself for not reading the lease agreement yourself. Never trust a car dealership, ESPECIALLY on a lease. I'm not defending US Bank, but in the case of the end of term fee, they all charge one. It pays for the inspector to come out and transport the car to the auction.

I have an auto loan with U.S. Bank and got the payment protection plan with it. I was allowed 30 days to cancel the plan with no charge. I decided to cancel and notified them within a few days. I even recieved a cancellation confirmation. They keep charging me every month for it, and after numerous phone calls (no one ever returns your call) they said I just have to keep paying the extra amount and it will be applied towards my loan balance. When I applied for this loan they said that if I cancel, the amont would be subtracted from my monthly payment. None of my statements reflect this and I can only assume I will pay over $700 for nothing.

In fact, your "guess" is totally wrong. The vehicle was in near perfect condition, as confirmed by the Volvo dealer who I did ask to inspect it at turn-in. US Bank's response to this was to point to the lease language that specifically disallows any inspections by any party other than their own inspection. On why I didn't keep the car after lease, the answer is simple: I did not choose that route because I wanted a smaller, more fuel efficient car. Anticipating this possibility four years previous, I chose to lease, rather than purchase, so that I would have that option. In my case, the issue actually has nothing to do with the condition of the vehicle (I am fine to argue over whether a 3/16" door ding is excess wear and tear), but rather concerns the one-sided nature of the lease contract language. Their standard contract defines excess wear and tear as any scratch, ding, windshield nick--anything--and leave the determination of such only to US Bank's inspector. The lease specifically denies the lessee any recourse to challenge the assessment or the charges, again determined solely by the Bank and its inspector. This issue is not specific to me, but is common to ALL US Bank vehicle lessees. When challenged on this point, US Bank simply responded that that is the lease language and I signed it. While that is a correct statement, it does not make it a fair, or possibly, even legal contract. In my opinion, it is a contract of adhesion and is patently unfair. And it is a practice that US Bank should not be allowed to get away with.

I filed a dispute concerning non-receipt of an item I had ordered. I get ripped off and somehow that gives them the right to keep my money!!! I am a single mother of 4 and they have every dime I have to my name...

US Bank increase in interest rate

I opened my statement today and found an increase in the APR to 15.24%. It was 5.25%!

My situation is similar to others that have posted. I pay on time and i've paid more than the balance due. I called twice today and ended up with a supervisor that treated me like I was an idiot. Where can I go to find out what the justification would be for banks to do this? That's all I was asking. What's going on? Things are happening every month - reducing limits on cards, changing terms, raising rates.

If there is nothing the banks can do, what can consumers do? Anything consumers try to do sometimes create more problems that affect the credit score. This whole thing is getting ridiculous!

yup, happened to me too. I`ve been paying my dues loyally ever since i got a US Bank card. I started off at 0% promotional rate till November 2009, then once that expired they jacked the rate to 9.15% in December 2009. Heres the problem, in January 2010, they jacked up the rate again to 13.99% without notifying me or sending me any letter!
i`ve had it with these idiots playing us like fools and here we are bailing banks out with our taxpayer money while their CEO's still rake in their millions in bonuses.
I think its about time we get together and sue these criminals!

06/03/2009 - Guess what! Same thing happened to us. We NEVER received any letter, (which they claimed to have sent). I have already filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and considered filing one with the BBB and whomever else I can think of! But then the thought occurred to me that if they can increase our rates like this, then they can probably close out our accounts for any reason whatsoever, so then I "backed down" because IF they would close our account it would again damage our credit. What a crock! Our interest rate was also increased to 15.24% - that seems to be the amount across the board. But you know what "still" worries me is that they made it a VARIABLE rate which leaves it open for them to increase IT EVEN MORE! YIKES - WHERE WILL IT END? I agree something does need to happen now - not next year. What good does 2010 do us - that only gives them more time to think of ways to screw us. Unhappy in Wyoming...

They did the same thing to me. I just called and they told me that they check my credit score every 90 days. Since they noticed a change in my credit score they increased my interest rate from 5.15% to 15.24%. I told them they had no right checking my credit scores as long as I pay my payment on time (which I do every month). They also told me that I should have received a letter indicating that my interest rate was increasing. I told them I never received the letter. I am waiting for a supervisor to call me back. The lady told me that this sort of thing won't be happening when the new law goes into affect next year - in the meantime the consumers are getting screwed! Something needs to happen now - not next year!

This seems to be a pattern with USBank. They do not give out any information when requested. When one threatens to excersize their rights USBank gets pissy. My trust administrator threatened to liquidate our real estate holdings so to "diversify our assets". That would have been disaster in this economic climate.

My advise: get a good attorney and push USBank to resign the trust. Make yourself the trustee! Start with letters to Diane Thormodsgard and Mark Jordahl at USBank corporate in Mn
