I became a UOP student in March of 2017 I couldn't complete my paperwork there uless I signed up for a student loan. I was a single parent at the time with 3 teenages at home one being my nephew. I was making $25, 000 a year and on food stamps. I did FASFA the beginning of that year and qualified. I ended up with a $3500 loan through Sally Mae because of UOP not to mention only 1 of their credits transferred to another college. I am so upset with all this crap that I have been through with UOP it just makes me sick. I can only imagine how many others this has happened too!

UOP hater!

I registered with University of Phoenix back in 2017, I later withdrew from the classes and a couple of years later I re-registered and was told that I owe approximately $1800.00; which I thought was outrageous since I withdrew. Later I paid with the amount and re-registered. My work load became more intense at work because I had to also work another position, and with that I emailed and called and told them I would have to end my classes and was told that I should withdraw and I wouldn't be charged. Well, low and behold due to identity theft I got a copy of credit report and who was on there...The University of Phoenix...I sent an email and told them I do not owe this money and they refuse to zero it out. What can I do to get this off of my credit report? I am disputing the claim that I owe this money and they will not work with me.

I have been a student since october 26th and I have been having the most miserable time so far. The school seams to be fun, but I have not seen a dime as far as grants or financial aid. I have been too two colleges and I have always gotton money asp. I have been having to use my daughters child support to pay for the internet and all my supplies. So as far as I am concerned I would not even give this school a referral. And I don't even drink or smoke or use any kind of drugs, But I know someone who uses her school money for drugs, just makes ya wonder what kind of school this is. so far I do not think very highly of this school.

In 2017 I attended Axia College online. What a mess. They must have contacted me 10 times a day AT LEAST until I was approved through the federal government for funds. Then all of a sudden all these Axia people who were supposed to be there to help disappeared.

They started me on a class without notifying me. They then treated me like an elementary school child and took away a class because they said my attendance was not satisfactory (I am in my 60's). Then I begged them back for the class they took away and they stated that my attendance was not good enough (What?) even though I had no idea I was enrolled. Then I could never get in touch the same counselors who said they would always be there for me for any question or problems I may have.

I was almost finished with my one and only class and ready for final tests when toward the end of the class I answered an participation question.

Upon answering that question I was verbally and viciously attacked by another student for my answer. It scared me so bad that I I backed out of the class and tried to call a counselor. No one would return my calls.

During this time is when Axia College finally gave the class back they had taken away but no one called to tell me and I was not about to login due to the student who attacked me. I could get help from no one. However, when it came time for monies to be paid you better believe they called me. I will not pay a dime for one class I never attended to a class I never knew I had to a college that will not return phone calls and I did not approve any federal monies to be paid to Axia. They are coming after me hot and heavy for $2, 000 for one (1) class.

I will not pay them. They have destroyed my credit. I will not pay them. They have harassed me for monies by sending me one letter each day for over 3 months. I will not pay.

There seems to be no numbers they supply a student with if the student has a problem. They do not care about you after they know the money is approved. The money is their bottom line. Period.

Question: Do the teachers at Axia College have no control over the classes that they cannot see what is written before it is posted online? I was fearful for my life upon received the student attack. It is only a matter of time before something bad happens to another student because of what Axia College is doing and if I were a teaching at Axia I would be very careful because Axia is using you and if you have not control over your classroom are you really a teacher?

Axia College is a dangerous place to attend and anyone should know that you can be attacked by another student just for doing your work. Everyone attending class there need be very very cautious!

This college is treading on thin water and should be reported to federal authorities for misappropriating the federal monies they receive for your attending college there and the Texas Attorney General for a verbal attack on a student and the Department of Education for approving them for monies in the first place.

I have kept all my names, dates and documentation. Please everyone keep yours also because this will happen again sooner or later.

Axia College is liars and thieves. I do no want to see anyone be hurt, physically or mentally. . This college is out of control. Any college that is incapable of protecting its students is unacceptable.

Horrible school, horrible customer service. I started one class and I tried to withdraw from the class because I had just started a new job and I was living in a hotel room for two weeks. In that time I fell behind. When I approached my instructor, she gave me pointers on how to try for a D. When the class was over I was told that if I had sought help to leave the class sooner they could have helped me. Because I didn't pass the class financial aid didn't cover it and I couldn't continue the class until I paid the $1700 for one class. They are over priced for such horrible customer service. They wont help in any way and they will mess up your credit. They also have no fear of the Better Business Bureau. Save yourself the effort and just register for online classes with a community college or your local state college.

In 2017 I registered for AAHCA/Medical records and the counselor put me in another classAHCA the day before, then did not change this, which I am sure was intentional and a good bonus for her. The courses ran the same until four months before graduation, then they wanted me to take out another loan to complete a course I did not register for and offered me one class for free. I still needed four other classes and would not even be certified as I was told when I enrolled. Even though I had copies of enrollment papers and all emails. letters. I contacted BBB, Consumer affairs, FTC, Department of Education, Student loans, Attorney Generals, Senators, College and University Accredidfation office( Accredidation office I never heard back from). I was told nothing could be done since they cannot help with courses or funding for a wronged education, it was out of there jurisdictions. . I think the Government is involved in a scam with student loans so they can collect that interest. I would think the University should be paid if the proper degree is received, but they must offer up some great campaign donations. I don't see how they can get away with this. Like many others I have been scammed by financial aid and University of Phoenix just to be in debt with nothing more than a $20, 000 for a General education which is worthless. If anyone knows other sources to send a complaint please let me know at renje2000@yahoo.com

My name is Maya and I am complaining about the University of Phoenix/Axia College. I have been with the University of Phoenix/Axia College for one year and it was going great in the beginning. My grades were perfect and I had no problems until my last two courses which were Environmental Science and Cultural Diversity. I was told in my Environmental Science class to express how I felt about nature and not to mention my HONEST opinion, that's exactly what I gave and I was attacked by the instructor. That is just the beginning of my problems with UOP. In my Cultural Diversity class I was told off by one of the students who happen to be older but i did not sweat it. The student told me that I need to open up a African American history book. We were told in the beginning of the course to write a autobiography of ourselves and that is with every course you start at UOP. I am an African American and I found the remark to be very racial and prejudice. I also stated in one of my discussion questions that I was from a mixed ethnic background and I felt I was attacked for it. I recommend anyone who wants to go to this scandalous school read up on your facts first because if you do not do this they will leave you in the dark and drag you though the mud so please be careful. I am in the middle of a situation right at this very moment with UOP, they want a very hefty amount of money for classes that they failed me in and not to mention again they asked my HONEST opinion and I gave it. I should not be punished for my personal opinion especially since it was asked for. In my time at UOP, I have only heard from my adcademic, financial, and enrollment counselors a few times. They tell you to call and leave a message if they are not available but contrary to popular facts they do not call you back. it is the same process with emails they do not get back. So, once again I recommend for anyone who badly wants to go to online schooling or should I say distant learning make sure you read all of the complaints and all of the paperwork they send in the mail it will help you see how scimmish and scandalous they are.

I was recently blocked in the online community because I reported Religious Abuse. There were people making comments ( I made None) Only reported what I saw were people were stating any religious beliefs other than their own were going to "Burn in Hell". I found this to be very inappropriate not to mention against anyone that read this university online community against peoples First Amendment Rights. So I reported it. Now over three weeks I have been blocked in all communities by the AC office stating I wrongfully reported abuse where there was non to mind my own business, get over it, and move on. They did not only block me there but I have lost my Library, Help icon and many more. I would really like to know what right do I have and what can I do about this. We as student do pay resource of 95.00 per class and if I am being denied these things. Then why should I pay these fees? Please advise me on what I need to do.

The University of Phoenix crossed an ethical line. After endless computer trouble I knew I needed to drop before the 2 week deadline, they wouldn't let me drop. They went as far as to post threads in Arizona to meet the class requirements. Just enough to allow full billing. Then it was"sorry we can't help", How convenient. I refused to pay, they refuse to let go of the credit report they hold hostage.Anyone with a similar complaint should contact Leanne Chitwood http://arizonabbb.org/ not that she was any help, I don't think anyone realizes how often this crap happens.

I attended uop in 2017. They were extremely helpful signing me up, but when they started pushing financial aid, I informed them that I had the montgomery gi bill and did not want a loan. They persisted and told me to do the loan for the time period until the gi bill kicked in. I now owe sally may $3000.00. While taking classes, they increase tuition so I had to pay out of pocket as well! I finally got fed up, emailed my counselor, the teacher and staff member that I was pissed and quitting school. I attended 2 weeks and now I owe them $1100.00 out of pocket for not canceling the proper way. They will not release to my new school until I pay and since I put uop on my list of schools I had attended while applying for my new university, they will not accept me until I get uop transcripts sent to them. One big student trap. Beware vets or anyone interested in uop, they are not worth it and the government should warn all veterans about uop's shady practices.

I can't wait to cut my ties with University of Phoenix and I was suppose to graduate from University of Phoenix next month. However all of a sudden at the last of my current class (1 more before graduation) they told me I can't move on and graduate ontime and unless I pay $ 400.00, and I havee been looking for a job since last July 2017, and a month ago they told me I was short $ 300 and unless I pay that I can't move on to my next class, and now they told me I am short $ 400 or they won't allow me to attend my last class and graduate in June.
If I have a choice I will NEVER EVER choose University of Phonenix EVER!

University of Phoenix will not be Employer of the Year any time soon. They treat their Enrollment Counselors with little respect. It is all about numbers, even though they deny it. While they state company policy is not to contest unemployment benefits they do. One manager in the Southern Arizona Campus even questioned an employee why he was taking so many days off on his approved FMLA. May I say Illegal. The campus director on this campus has allowed his middle managers to operate in a frenzy mode. Sometimes when you let some one go without good reason you irritate more than the ex-employee; you irritate an entire village.

I really have only one complaint with UoP and I have done my BSM and MBA through their online program. My complaint is that they allow students into the MBA program that cannot even speak proper English. If you have taken UoP classes online, you understand there is a participation requirement. This requirement states that you must post within the class 2x, 4 days a week. This is a simple request yet some students can barely form a whole sentence.

I would like to see UoP raise their standards for the Master’s program. I expect people in a graduate level degree program to be able to communicate in complete and proper English. With the standards where they are, I am slightly embarrassed to tell people that I received my MBA from UoP.

I really do not see any reason some students would continue to progress without a good grasp of the English language. I have to wonder; Is UoP passing students just for the money?!?!

*Note – your grade is based on your performance but also on team projects

I have just one question I am hoping someone - anyone can answer. When an Axia instructor gives an assignment that is accompanied with a rubik, does the teachers grading of that assignment need to follow the parameters set forth by the rubik?

online course for doctorate level does not meet even SC high school level standard. I am a high school teacher and took the introduction to their doctorate level course and I decided immediately that the product is not to par. When I informed them of my issue the customer service was aggressive. Rubrics are hard to understand with no detail. The teacher comments are too vague for learning. Teacher comments of discussion did not align with the class discussion thread. I took 2 courses in 2017 and it was not like that. This university is no longer institute of learning, but a cash cow.

University of phoenix is not releasing my excess pell grant funds. They have ripped me off by not only making me take extra classes to complete a "new" degree program, after I was enrolled in a program they said was no longer available. Then while I was attending on "ground", I had to transfer to an online degree program. I have since discovered they are offering the original program. They made me take extra classes to complete the "new" program. I can not transfer my credits and I am one class away from graduating. They have told me over and over again that I would receive my excess pell grant funds. Now they say I was out of enrollment for 29 days, so they can't release the funds. I passed that class. They didn't bring this up until after I contacted them wondering where my money was. They are the worst college ever. Ripping off student in this economic resession should be a crime. Don't ever go to university of phoenix. They are a scam of the worst sort.

I was desirous of expanding my education at a late age in my life and wanted to get updated on some issues including computers and programming, management today, etc. I started with The University of Phoenix with a few online courses. Well, I'm sure many experienced what I did with the ever changing financial councelors, academic councelors and every other person that worked for The University of Phoenix being there one day and gone the next. One email worked one day and not the next. No one knew what the other person was doing and one couldn't get a question answered at all. It was obvious that this, what I call COMPANY, not University, was growing faster than it could handle and their very own management was way out of control. They had no idea what they were doing. They had the nerve to attempt to teach courses on management? There were so many screw ups, so many wrong answers, so many lies, so many problems presented to me in a very short period of t ime that I couldnt' concentrate on my studies as was the case with so many others at that time. Finally, (I thought), someone came to my aid and told me that The University owed me $2243.00 as a credit and it would be put on my account. Well, needless to say it never appeared on my account and now two and one half years later three credit reports show me oweing exactly $2, 243.00 through a collection agency called APOLLO which is owned by The University of Phoenix. After countless calls, countless emails, countless mailings, notes, etc I just couldn't achieve one inch forward with all this. Finally, I just decided to send them their $2, 243.00 but I put on the back of the check that they had to take me off of all three of the credit reporting agencies and show "Paid in FUll" on them. I also said "this check is paid without prejudice". Well, Ms. Genie Winship, the Account Analyst after getting the money in her hand said she would return the check to me and wanted an other check re-issued to her. I simply wrote her back and said NO. I told her that if she refused payment that I would not re-issue any check and that she nor the University would EVER get one red cent from me for eternity. I mean that. I am disabled. I am near a PH.D. Degree, which I don't need and I don't need them, nor the University for anything. I could care less about what APOLLO GROUP says about what they THINK I owe them. I do NOT owe them one dime and when I decided to pay them anyway, they refused my money. Therefore, I say they get nothing now. This so called University treats students who are sincere like a number, not a student. It is MONEY, MONEY, MONEY and that's all that matters to them. I got sick of it and I want all who read this to know that you are in for a ride when you deal with The University of Phoenix and it is NOT going to be a nice ride. It is going to be a wreck.
Damage Resulting = This has cost me time, wasted energy, postage, fees to consultants, research fees and physical and emotional stress which is unbelievable over what I thought from the beginning was going to be a pleasant experience. It turned out to be a NIGHTMARE!

Phoenix University is charging me for a class I did not take. Was told by financial ad-visor would receive partial credit for a class and now does not want to honor the credit.

wanted to go from online to campus for my accounting degree and was told by counselor would be better if I stayed online. Was told to stay online and major was changed and class drop. Was not told had to pay for class, now ready to graduate is been told I owe 1200 for the that my counselor dropped.

Need to pay or change graduation date to a later time so that I can get another loan to pay for this class.

Within the two years I have been in Phoenix online classes my financial ad-visor and couselor has been change 3-4 times and the each one has given me a different story from the other.

I do not understand if my financial ad-visor said I would no have to pay and sent in for credit it is going to be denied and I have to pay for a class I did not take and is no longer part of my major.

When I asked why this was not explained to me and why I was forced to stay online and change major when all I wanted to do was to change to ground campus. No answer said they apologize my counselor did not inform me of that. But they are not willing to give me the credit for the class all they want is more money.

Hello, everyone. I would like to remain anonymous for personal reasons. I'm starting my third year at the University of Phoenix, which means I'm starting my Bachelor's degree in 3 days actually. My Associate's degree was earned through the Axia College of University of Phoenix and I have to say that I am very surprised with the education that I have received. This school has been a dream come true for me! I have a 3.8 GPA, and I am very excited about starting my Bachelor's program. However, I decided to look into consumer's experiences with the University of Phoenix and Apollo Group and I am literally about to have a stroke! There are more negative comments than anything. So, the reason for my post, it's not really a complaint, is that I need some answers if anyone has any insight. My enrollment counselor did not tell me that the Bachelor's program at UOP was in the group learning style. I don't think I will benefit from this as a student, which is why I chose online learning instead of the traditionally classroom setting. Does anyone have any experience with group learning at UOP or any other online college. What should I do? Your help is greatly appreciated! Please respond ASAP.

My daughter is/was who knows? a student of the University of Phoenix. She was so excited and was told that she had received the financial aid and that she would receive her degree to be a school teacher. I told her to check out these type of message boards before commiting to the program. She did not take my advise and is now paying the price. I did my ABA with AIU onlilne and I recieved books, something UOP does not provide to their students. I had a email to each instructor for questions, something UOP does not provide their students. She has failed the 4th course because her work is not posting and she can not get in touch with the teacher, advisor or dean. I hope this complaint will assist someone in making their decision not to attend UOP, as my daughter has found out, Mother knows best. AIU is okay but I am attending Virginia Tech for my Bachelors in Healthcare Management as they offer a better program and their accreditdation is not as wishy washy as AIU's.

I completed the requirements of the MBA program at the University of Phoenix while under the impression that my credits would be fully transferable to any "Regionally accredited" college. After completing the MBA program, I enrolled at my local community college for some technical courses regarding web development and sustainability. I discovered that I could not only use any of my courses as transfer credits, but that I also have an outstanding balance of well over $3000 that the University of Phoenix claims I owe for courses that I have completed.

While working as a part-time delivery driver last year, I was the victim of an attempted armed robbery and a brutal assault. I was just beginning a course that I had to withdraw from due to injuries to my skull, neck, back, and face. After speaking with five different people who represent the University of Phoenix, I am being told that I was charged for this course by two of them, and not charged for it by the other three.

Since I cannot satisfy this debt with a settlement through the collection agency the University of Phoenix has not authorized to take any less than full payment, I cannot receive my official transcripts for financial aid to continue my education.

So in summary, I am being told that I owe over $3000 despite the fact that I was using federal student loans to pay for the majority of my Masters Degree. I am being told two different stories about whether or not I was charged twice for the course which I had withdrawn from due to unforeseeable circumstances that I later completed. I am being talked down to by the financial advisors that I've spoke with thus far because of the debt they have convoluted. I cannot receive financial aid until I pay the balance in full in order to receive my transcripts.

I may, in fact, owe this debt in full, however, I cannot get a straight answer as to why I owe this money given the fact that I was using financial aid. The financial advisors, and the University of Phoenix dispute department have done a sub-par job at clarifying how and why I am being charged with this debt.

All in all, I am very disappointed with the administration of University of Phoenix and its policies, and a lack of respect to the students time, money, credit, and energy. Until I receive a clarification as to where, why, and how the debt was incurred, I refuse to pay.

I enrolled with the university of phoenix in july of this year and i did not begin classes because i hadn't received my financial aid award package. When i asked the university for this they said I was to get it from the department of educations so i called them and they told me this comes directly from the school i have asked numerous times for this and at this point i am yet to receive it, they wanted me to start classes even before i knew how much i was awarded and how it was going to be disbursed. Don't let them fool you the department of education told me not to ever start a class without knowing how much i was awarded and how the money was going to be disbursed.

While the education may be sufficient for some people, it's only valuable if you lean to the HARD left, as far as socialism goes. The instructors are VERY socialist in nature and if you do not follow their ideals then you get docked or threataned. Complaints to the school go nowhere.

The big ### of this school is, if you don't complete it(I dropped out to go back to my old school), they send 50% of your loans BACK to the loan company and then come after you for the money. They also deny you your transcript until you pay that off. Then they tell you that you have a responsibility to pay them.

As a citizen I have to be held accountable for my actions, a nd they should be too. They were stupid enough to send the money back as punishment for not graduating from their school. That sounds an aweful lot like extortion to me, which is illegal, yet they continue getting away with it, and their excuse is since they are an educational institution they are exempt from the law. Why do we even have laws now if everyone is either exempt or above the law? Might as well do what the government and corporations do and start using our constitution as toilet paper.

I transferred from another college to the University of Phoenix with approximately 12/13 classes to go to get into their fast trak program to complete my degree. I was told by UoP that all my credit hours would transfer over. So I started the first class on May 11th, 2017. Well, my transcript had not been updated in their system before I began, but they assured me that everything would transfer over. On May 18th, I checked to see if my transcript had been rec'd and updated in their system. It had, but only 54 hours were transferred over. Rather than completing approximately 36/39 hours, I would be enrolled longer to complete at least 66 hours @ $12, 500 per 24 credit hours. This is the equivalent to a little less than 3 years. This would put me in financial debt of approximately $37, 500. I contacted them immediately via email and left a voice message. My call was not returned until the next day. However, prior to this I rec’d and email or phone call EVERYDAY from my 3 advisors. When they did respond on the following day, I was told more or less that's what it is.

I withdrew from class on the morning of May 19th.

The same day I withdrew, I rec'd a demand for payment phone call and email for $403.00. The phone call said that if I withdrew right now before finishing the class, I would be financially responsible. So the next day I got a call that they were turning it over to a collection agency as I was past due on the debt. Yes, not even 24 hours after I withdrew, I rec'd emails and phone calls saying just that. And every day since, I have rec'd calls and emails.

Well today, I rec'd 3 phone calls w/their number blocked and 2 emails saying, that my bill is now $721.00, because I didn't pay it within the first week of withdrawing. The total amount of $721.00 is due by June 10th, 2017.

It has not been 2 weeks and these ppl are harassing me because I w/drew. From the 19th, when I officially withdrew until today, it has been 13 days total.

I have a debt of almost $800.00 for 9 days of “learning team”. In my opinion the UoP is an absolute joke and their unethical business practices prove it.

I really loved my classes at University of Phoenix, and had just started into my first semester of classes. I had received a loan to help start me off. After the third class, and starting into the fourth class, I became very ill. I had to have an emergency appendectomy, and they discovered something even worse underneath the area they removed. I was out of school for days. When I came back, all seemed okay, but my health was a real challenge. The ONLY secular hope I had going for me was my schooling, and the doctors were saying that I might have an incurable disease, and that I needed to stay focused on something that would give me hope. One day, the teacher came to me and said that he couldn't find my name on his class roster anymore. He had to manually add me in each week. I went to my counselor and asked them what was wrong. They advised me that UOP only allows a 29 day break from classes, otherwise you are considered dropped. Although she knew that I was ill and in and out of the hospital, she neither told me that there would be a problem, nor advised me to do anything more about it. She said that they would "fix" the problem, and I should continue taking my classes. At the end of the class, the English Professor had to manually enter my grades and attendance in the system. The situation was still not resolved. I went back to my counselor, and asked her what needed to be done. She said they were still working on it, and told me to go ahead and start the next class. One day, the class was there on my UOP classes log, and the next day it wasn't. She said to go ahead and go anyway, since they were "still" working on it. After a few days, she came to me and said that I should "sit this class out" until they fixed the problem. The next thing I knew, every month they said this. My health was deteriorating because I felt so depressed about this. A year later, I received a call from a UOP representative saying that now would be a good time to start classes again. I asked them if the problem had been cleared up, and they said "what problem?" After they checked, they said they would work on it. During this time, I received a letter from the Loan department stating that I had defaulted on the loan because I had quit classes. I NEVER quit! I was asked to wait to come back by UOP! They did not care, they wanted their money. If everything would have been done correctly, then my loans would not have come due until the date that I signed up for on them. I called UOP, and they said they would straighten things out. Two months later, I got a letter from the Loan company saying they were going to impact my credit rating and possibly start deducting the money from my paychecks. I called UOP again, and they said they would work on it. Then one month later I was able to speak with a "specialist" who said that she could fix the problem and get me back into classes. I was so excited thinking that finally this problem had been solved. But it turns out that she only "fixed" their side of the equation, and too bad about the financial part. Of course, now I couldn't get a loan anyways because I had a defaulted loan on my records. When I was well enough to finally get a job, that agency kept telling me that they were going to garnish my wages. I was not making enough money to support myself, and by all this time I would have graduated from UOP with by BA in Business Management! My cohorts had already graduated! I told the agency that I had a claim with UOP regarding the default, but they did not care. UOP certainly did not care, and they continue to call me and email me as though they did not do anything wrong. I just received a letter from the IRS that I will not receive any money from them because they have applied ALL of my tax return to this EDFUND group. My complaint was not that I didn't owe them the money, but that I signed a contract stating that I would stay in school and complete the courses and then my payments would start. I did not choose to leave, UOP forced me to leave. I would have been able to get a better paying job by now had I been able to just completed what I started. As it is, I am barely able to squeak by. Not to mention that my credit is ruined because of this. I have no idea how to get any resolution on this matter, because I have never been able to find any group that cares enough to do something about what is happening at UOP. I know that I can't be the only one that these types of things have happened to. What else can I do? Please send valid suggestions to NancyDruDC3@aol.com. Thank you for your time reading this, I hope that you will fare better than I have.

I have been experiencing a living nightmare since Nov. 2017. UoP/Apollo Group has so much money and power that they can afford to buy anybody and everybody. It is the most unscrupulous organization I have thus far come to know.

Please let your voices be heard. E-mail Dale Hillard at the DOE: dale.hillard@ed.gov and Linda.Henderson@ed.gov. Let them know how many people are suffering the abominable consequences of joining a school that we had no idea was going to literally ruins our lives.

Also, has anyone organized a peaceful and lawful protest against UoP? If I can get just one person to join me, I will DO IT! In the meantime, please inundate the folks at the DOE with e-mails. Persistence will pay off. I am afraid of what the UoP organization can do, but I can not allow fear to paralyze me into hopelessness, helplessness, and seclusion. I will not allow them to make me a prisoner in my own home.

With only five classes left to take, the University Of Phoenix suddenly returned part of my student loan back to the lender. The financial counselor told me the next class must be paid out-of-pocket before they will let me continue.
Wondering what happened to the AZ Grant I applied for months ago, I checked their website. It said I was awarded their grant. Bonnie Gonzales, a financial counselor at the University Of Phoenix told me she could not find any information. I telephoned the office for AZ Grant that day. The representative from AZ Grant told me I was awarded their grant months ago and they have been waiting for the University Of Phoenix to approve it. Then, Brad Beyer, a financial manager at the University Of Phoenix told me told me I might quality for the AZ Grant, but they are still reviewing all the students who signed up for it on their website and my case was undetermined. Once again I telephoned the office for AZ Grant. They assured me I was already awarded this grant. The financial counselors at the University Of Phoenix lied to me about the AZ Grant.
I was also awarded a Pell Grant two months ago. I am currently not attending class because the financial counselor told me the next class must be paid out-of-pocket by me before the Pell Grant can be applied. This is ridiculous.
Over a year ago, while stating my concern over the high tuition, the enrollment counselors at the University Of Phoenix assured me I would be graduating in May of 2017. I wish I would have paid more attention to the smiles on their faces. There was no smile on my face, but believing I would have my bachelor's degree in May of 2017 was just enough to get me to sign up for the program at the University Of Phoenix. Now it feels like a con artist tricked me out of my time and thousands of dollars.

The MSN/FNP program is in jeopardy and some of the instructors have become belligerent and abusive. now that we are well over halfway to our degree, there is chaos and they are being investigated. Beware. Do your home work before signing anything with this "institution".

I have conversed with many students of UOP who have had issues with student funding . I have, also, conversed with many students of other credible universities who did not experience issues with receiving their funding or charges relative to their education. I am aware that I have wasted both time and money with UOP and will advise others of the dilemmas they will face with UOP. I find humor in their marketing schemes that advocate the importance of an education when, in fact, the importance is their major financial gain. I wish you the best in obtaining your goals; however, it seems that UOP enjoys their ability to destroy the vision of accomplishment.

I have been attending uop since August 2017, because of my financial situation I couldn't continue to go to school and I asked for a break on August 2017 my financial advisor told me this would affect my financial aid and I might have to pay loans back. I felt a lot of pressure from my counselors to return back to class especially from my financial counselor, making me feel like I was going to lose my financial aid if I didn't return soon. so I returned to school even though I wasn't ready and I ended up having to drop the class and now I have to pay more than 300 dollars or return to class next week for it to be paid by financial aid. I feel Like all my financial advisor cares about is for me to attend class so that my financial aid keeps coming In. I don't know what to do, I know that a lot of people have complaints and that this is not as good of a school as I thought but I have a little over a year and I get my bachelors I don't want to just quit, have no degree and have to pay all this money for nothing.

If your advisors were aware of your circumstances, you should have have easily either been approved for an leave of absence or at the least referred to disability services (this department assists with situations of all types temporary or chronic). Granted, documentation of your illness would have to be provided, but if that is the case they would probably work with you. They really hate disability discrimination complaints and lawsuits.

I should have graduated in February 2017; however, UOP scheduled me for only one class, rather than two, which extended my graduation date. I had major medical issues that required me to break from classes. I was given only a short absence before I would be billed for that class. I was advised that I now owe $800.00 for a portion of that class, and until that is paid, no records could be accredited. In addition, I never received the Pell Grant money for that period. My education, (and student loans), have all been in vein. Thank you Phoenix!

I am attending UOP and they have been giving me the run around about my FA and Pell grant. They took all my Pell grant of 5, 550. And Student loan of 9500 and I was told my classes is 9800 and the overage is mine. Well I have not received one red penny from them and I been going to UOP since March and it is April 29 and still no funds. Now they are telling me I need to pay for other courses and giving still lying. I'm fed up I never miss class and my grades are good they need to be shut down.

I'm not here to bash because that's not my style, however, what in the world made you sign up with that university? They seem like a scam to me, always have, if you are going online to a university, pick a reputable one, like a university in your hometown or state that offers online courses. I agree with you, if they are making statements like that, that isn't right especially on a school site, that shouldn't have even happened and should have monitors reviewing comments because you (and anyone else in school) is not there for that, you are there for an education and who wants to see such negativity. Too much of that going on that's why everything is a$$ backwards lol. If I were you, finish out your semester and find another university (either go find one to sit in or find a decent online school) and get away from them. Something about them always rubbed me wrong.

Citizens of the United States of America do not attend this university. They overcharge, do not communicate, and at the end of the day you will get screwed. Stay away you all have been warned.

I filed a formal grievance with the University Of Phoenix. The financial department still denied that I received the grant and never answered my questions directly. It is insulting I have to deal with people who outright lie to me. Brad Beyer lied to me.

I too suffered the misinformation of the uiniversity of phoenix. I am currently on my way to the court house to sue them for fraudulent billing. They never traznsfered my credits to a college i was attending and have claimed credit against my credit report. This action halted my funding and has motivated me to sue the appollo group for 120 million in mental anguish and damages. The key here is that you can not buy time and they have wasted mine and my education has been put at risk. They have stolen money from government by neglecting the the concerns of the students and claiming services not rendered. I am disabled and they violated my civil rights. I am putting a class action lawsuit together to cloase the apollo group and there false claims bureau. If i am compensated they will be closed forever

I have not received my Pell Grant money in 4 1/2 months. I agree with your opinion of their practices and will pursue this at a higher level.
