Mikel from Universal Timeshare called me today, he told me he had a person from Canada that would pay me $90, 600 for my timeshare. all I had to pay was an up front fee of $1, 800 for an RCI lawyer to take care of the legal things. he was going to send me a contract, but I have not seen one yet. Why would anyone pay me more for my timeshare than it's worth?
He was also very hard to understand.
SCAM!

I paid a fee of $598.00 charged to a credit card to have Universal Timeshare sell my Royal Elite timeshare on Sept. 9, 2012. This company guaranteed me that they would sell my timeshare. To this date, I have received only one call and regarding a rental that never went through and nothing else. I also dropped the asking price with them. I called for a refund of my fee and they tell me that I cannot have one. I feel I have been taken advantage of and want a refund of the fee charged me. This is a forum with more complaints made on this companies:

I was quite impressed to receive a call asking whether I was willing to sell my timeshare. I said I might if the price was right. They gave me an offer of $22, 500 for my 15, 000 points. This seemed quite reasonable however there were a few warning bells that went off in my head so I checked Universal Timeshares out with the BBB and some other complaint sites. They came up with complaints that included the exact sales tactics used on me noting that the $1, 800 "legal" fee to process the paperwork had to be paid by credit card immediately to get the process going and that I would receive the written contract with in the week. I was to sign that and they would close the deal and send me the money. I asked why the $1, 800 couldn't be taken out at the closing. I then got the story that story that this was not a real estate deal and the contract would have the exact same terms that were in the email they sent to me. The problem was that the email was not a contract, just a letter stating the amount to be paid and noting my 1, 500 points. I still had not given any proof that I owned these points which they did not seem to mind. When I again asked about the $1.800 payment being made after I received a written contract or at closing, the salesman told me that I didn't appear to be serious about selling. I assured him that I was but wanted the cash out to be at the same time as I paid the fee. He again said I did not appear to be serious about selling and very quickly ended the conversation. If you are in sales and have been assured that the seller is interested, why the abrupt change in attitude. I will also add that he gave his name as Chris Price and his number was [protected] ext, 100. I noticed that a 5/25/11 complaint on this site stated that the salesman he dealt with had the exact same phone number and extension but was under the name Chris Holiday. If you feel the need to change your name that you give, do you really expect me to believe your are legit? I only use one name! I concluded that doing this bit of research saved me $1, 800 and the embarrassment and anger I would have felt if I had gotten scammed.

i have also been contacted by them to sell my timeshare. They told me they had a buyer and that they had sold my timeshare. In order to close the deal i had to give them my credit card information and then the deal would close in 90 days. i asked for the contract so i could read it, but was told that they needed my credit card info first...this is a SCAM!. I told the sales rep to call me the next day and never received a phone call.

SCAM SCAM SCAM ! Beware do not give them your credit card information...there is no legit buyer...it is just a boiler room to rip people off.

Looks like a few of the Universal Timeshare employees got on here, and made some bogus reviews about their little "SCAM"

Timeshares are not anything, but "WORTHLESS" in any resale arena...

If you own any timeshare, don't get pulled in on these "SCAMS" ANY timeshare that you already own...no one will buy it for more than you ever paid for it...these kinds of "Vultures" are just coming in for a little bite of the action, to see if they can scrape up some of the damage most timeshare owner's now are trying to get out of...and these "SCAMMERS" are so much more aware of the situation than you will ever know being an owner...

BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE...Don't even consider their devilish offer...

Well I have been flabbergasted by the negative comments on Universal timeshare SA which I believe have been initiated by the envious competition from different companies. I personally had very good experience with Universal timeshare Sales associate which is why I recommended them to couple of my friends and they too had very positive experience with this company. Off course they asked for upfront payment which I guess anybody could sacrifice for a good rate and that too above the market rate. I too was very apprehensive about their strategy and reviews but when I checked their real references it turned out to be completely new story. I have spoken with Mike about the my unit and he very well explained me the whole process since I was relatively a new player the Timeshare Market. The buying process was seamless despite taking some time. Well I had the money the my hand as promised all thanks to Universal timeshare Sales associate. Hope this suffice everything about this company.

universal timeshare sa Complaints -NOT scam- Genuine Sales Associates.

HI. there is Amy Dsouza from Bakersfield- CA.

I am an associate here with my firm and last week on July 28th, I got a call from Universal Timeshare Sales Associate :

Give me an offer of $4000 for a timeshare and all. He offer me for $1500 to hire a Lawyer to take care of the legal things.

Whenever I ask him for documentations then he agreed for contract. But I have not seen one yet. Thats why, anyone can pay

more for my timeshare than its worth?

She was also very hard to understand.

I also discuss with her about 45 minutes and cleared all my doubts.
The timeshare and other amounts such like Fee etc.

Thank you UNIVERSAL TIMESHARE SA.

Chris Holiday at [protected] (x100) from Universal Timeshare SA just called me. He gave me his ID #4389659 like that number magically made the whole thing legit. He was very easy to understand, but honestly sounded like a member of the mob. After giving him absolutely minimal information about my timeshare (i.e. number of bedrooms, bathrooms and how many it would sleep) he came back and said they had a buyer on the phone that was offering $15, 000 for the unit (not bad considering they didn't even know WHERE it was or what week or anything). Coincidentally the buyer was from Canada. Mr. Holiday told me that they were interested in buying the unit due to the upcoming Memorial Day holidays. When I explained that my week was not a summer week but rather a winter week he said that what he meant was that they had people "in" due to the upcoming holidays. When I explained that they don't celebrate Memorial Day in Canada, he quickly changed the subject. Also coincidentally they wanted me to pre-pay legal fees of $1798 (I played dumb at first and told him I understood it was $17.98). Since I was assured that Universal Timeshare SA would receive no part of that $1798, I asked if I could deal directly with the legal team as far as payment (this was after going through a list of exactly what fees and services the $1798 would cover and ascertaining that they would all traditionally be handled by an attorney). I guess he got tired of talking to me because he hung up on me after that. Very clearly a scam.

We had the same thing happen. It is a scam. You pay the amount upfront with the promise to be reimbursed on the back end and it does not happen. I understand the group goes ahead and changes the name on your title so your legal troubles are only then beginning but you dont get your selling price or the closing/legal costs back.
