Union Telecom repeated calling - despite being informed that I am on do not call list

I have received about 9 or 10 calls in last 30 days. On each occasion I have informed them that my phone number is registered on do not call list and requested that they stop calling me. A couple of times when I got upset at them, their reps kept on calling back just to be annoying! When I sought their phone number, I was supplied with bogus phone numbers. (their numbers do not show up on my called id and ignoring it only results in repeated calling by them.)

On the last two occasions I have asked for and spoken with a supervisor.in both cases they have ensured me that they will remove my name for good from their list, only to be called back again.

I have just registered a complaint on the fcc website. I hope this people are put out of business!

Guys, if you don't like it, go and sign up with Pulse Telecom. For $24.95/month you can make unlimited phone calls to India, Canada and USA (land line and cellular) and also to 16 European countries. All the calls are included in this plan.

Union Telecom fraud.. abusive language

http://www.uniontelusa.com and http://www.uniontelecomusa.com both are fraud guys..
They call for promotion.. After talking to them if you say no, they tell you wasted my time.. Let see you hang up the phone or I do..

How can u trust such guys, when u already paid.. Beware guys...

On top of that, they will not tell you that you will be charged for $39.50

They guys are fraud. I am working with my credit card company and trying to shut their shop off.

Protect your credit card and yourself. Do not become their customer.

Union Telecom unable to reach customer services

Union telecom usa is a big cheater. Their telemarketers keep calling you till you sign up. They also boast of the lowest calling rates to india. When they called me, they boasted of the lowest calling rates - 3.9 c per min for india. They also promised free 100 minutes per month for the first three months. When I asked about rounding, they said its 1 min rounding. Hearing all this, I signed up. However, later I found that they have 3 mins rounding and also they are charging lot of taxes.
I tried to reach their customer service but have not been able to reach them despite multiple efforts. Their online chat agents are always offline. If you try to register a complaint, you will get an error in spanish. Since I do not know spanish, I can't understand what the error is, but I have not been able to register a complaint at all.
They have also charged me $40 as refundable security deposit which I am not sure whether I will get back now or not.
I would recommend to stay away from union telecom. Dont ever try this.

Union telecom Custome services reps ...do not have good ENGLISH
Sales rep told me durong sin up thta when you cancel the services your security deposit will back with in 48 hours, today i called for cancellation and the SCR said it will take 40 days to return security deposit which is 39.99 .Rediculous... Union Telecom is the GREATE SLAMMER.

Union Telecom billing fraud

I subscribed to the union telecom 's service in nov'08 for calling india at 4c/min.in dec'08 I was started receiving calls everyday about a pending bill of over $15o. After requesting them to send the bill several times I received it. I tally-ied the number of minutes uniontelecom had charged me for against my telephone bill from my phone line provider and found a huge discrepancy. According to the bill from uniontelecom we had been charged for 2, 898 minutes and there was no explanation for a $40 taxes &other charges item. We disputed the bill, the phone rep. Of the company started using bad language and started calling us day and night and we kept telling them that there was a problem with the bill as the number of minutes according to our telephone bill was 1867 minutes. Finally on jan23’09 we offered to pay uniontelecom 74.68 for the 1867 minute and get a refund of the deposit of 39.99. They took the payment of 74.68 and hung up. Upon calling back to cancel the account unoin telecom’s phone rep started abusing. We are trying to cancel the payment through our credit card company - but in light of the several complaints against this company we have also complained to the fcc to take appropriate action. Please protect consumers by investigating union telecom usa.

Union Telecom USA (www.uniontelecomusa.com) is the biggest scam ever. They never refunded my deposit even when I cancelled the account without using it. The Customer service professionals are rude and tend to hang up without completing the call. Wonder how such a company is allowed to exist ?

Union Telecom IncorrectBilling

I asked my service to be cancelled and apply my security deposit of 39.95 towards final bill. Paid the final bill in september 08. Got an email from customer service that I owe nothing. Guess what in October got a new bill with one call from september and 9.95 late charge plus 39.95 they never deducted as a payment from my security deposit.
The company has zero customer service as I have been hung up a few times. No one is willing to resolve and they insist that they cannot take my phone numbers off. I am afraid that they are the biggest frauds allowed to operate in USA.

I have similar experiences - not only they are billing incorrectly, but are not returning my security deposit. They promise something & keep on bugging you to get names of friends to call/bug them. Now they are telling me that you have to wait for one year to get the deposit back - crooks. They are a big fraud.

Previous complain are very similar to mine. What can be done to file small claim in Miami Beach, Fl, from Los Angeles, CA?/---Can I contact Florida attorney general?

I also subscribed with Union Telecom for long distance plan that was wrongfully portrayed to me. Was told 100 minutes free to India for first 3 months at 3.9c/min. My $39.50 would returned if not satis fied. Also, I would be able to check my charges online right away, to monitor my free minutes used during first 3 months.
After 6 calls in first 3 weeks one of them said there is charge of $8.30 but no one can tell me including their supervisor what it is, since it is not posted. Agin, after 2 emails, (never replied) and 3 calls was told bill will be posted after 30 days of my signing.
I canceled my account immediately after I found hidden charges attached to long distance calling. I requested
my security back and since one year I am still requesting my security amount every week and just get a new one week promise every time I call. Look like this company is a big fraud. some how overlooked till now.
Finally, today was told that refund is only callin card and not my 39.50.
SOMEONE SHOULD FOLLOW THIS---May be with enough complains attorney can take it as a class actio suit.
By the way, the direct debit is done with a different name, which I can see on my bank transaction

Union Telecom unsolicited phone calls - 15 a day

I am fed up with receiving calls from union telecom. They call at odd hours, have no etiquette, address folks in local language (indian punjabi) and are relentless. After repeatedly requesting them not to call us as I already have the service they are selling, I threatened to complain to police. No affect. I have complained to the local police station to put a trace to my phone so that they can "trace" the caller. Also I spoke to their call center supervisor - pranjal and everytime they call me now, I repeatedly ask only for pranjal and remind him how they are harrassing their prospective clients. May be all shoudl just do this. After sometime pranjal also stopped coming on - line and they cut the phone.

I really want strict action to be taken against this company as it is invasion of privacy.

I am from UK, and they took £30 security deposit and told me that they would return the money back once not satisfied with service. Their service is pathetic so i decided to close my account but then they refused to return my money and instead gave me calling card no nd pin to use that amount. Thats really frustrating.

Plz beware of this company and don't deal with them. They are compete fraud company.

hi this roneld i m so much disappointed from the union telecom.i so much fad up from company.i told them i don't wanna take service but again and again they guys keep calling me and when i say something to them so they guys abused me.
i just wanna tell this to USA and CANADA customer plz don't take this service becoz i already have taken this before they guys took my visa no.and $39.50 but after sometimes i founded they guys charged ME 39 CENTS per call connection charge each call of mine.
plz beware abt this company and never take union telecom services..

Union Telecom charge for calls I never made

I have been charged incorrectly in July month for tens of calls to countries I never made. The customer servce disconnects the phone, without providing any solution. I saw multiple complains on internet for Union telecom and realised that this company is harrassing their customers and dupes them. Can someone help me find out how I can sue the company or get legal action against them.

For those fortunate individuals who haven’t signed up with this company yet:

Please DO NOT even try this company unless you want to experience misery. If you haven’t already, go sign up for DO NOT CALL REGISTRY @ https://www.donotcall.gov/

If you are already signed up for the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY, and you still receive sales calls from Union Telecom, please tell the Sales Agent that you are on DO NOT CALL list and request them not to call you again.

But, unfortunately more than linked you will continue to get calls from them. If this happens, please make sure to file a complaint by going to https://www.donotcall.gov/ website.

For those individuals who have signed up already and experience the FRAUD, here is what you need to do:

1) If you are already signed up, you must have given them your Credit Card number for their so called refundable deposit in the amount of $39.50. You need to call the Credit Card Company and cancel your Credit Card number. The Credit Card Company will send you another Credit Card with a different account number. This way Union Telecom will not be able to charge any fraudulent amounts on your Credit Card.

2) No matter what, Union Telecom will not refund you the $39.50. Therefore, dispute this charge with your Credit Card Company and they will take care of it as long as your follow their instructions.

3) Please make sure to report this company to Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Here is the link to file a complaint: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm?sid=d1e174&id=d1e353

4) Tell your family and friends about this fraudulent company. If you like, you can tell your enemies about this company as well and ask them to sign up so that you can take your revenge.

Only thing they may refund is a calling card. Can we complain to Florida, Attorney General or Better Busienes Bureau-----I will try, but wonder if others would do same for $39.50 back
For me it is a big deal and also possible outcome of something better. They promised me callin card.

I sign up with Union Telecom and after 2 month i disconect my services. because the agent tel me he is giving me 100 minutes free but they don't gave me. I deposite $39 Canadian and the agent told me once i cancelled the services i got my money back with in 2 days. now it's been 2 months and every time i called they said your money will be in your account with in 24 hours or 48 hours. I am so mad anyone know if we can complaint in police or not?

Talked to your credit card co. Tell about all charges that it is fraud. Cancel your card and get from bank as much as possible.I am 100% sure it is a fraud.
Talk to consumer protection branch, ministry of consumers . Open a file. Write a registered letter to Union telcom telling that you never made those calls, they are doing frauds and ask for refunds, including your deposit. Also tell them that ontario law requires that they close your account in 10 busineess days. keep a copy for ministry. and wait. Trick them slowly and slowly by making false promise. let them clear your balances. Then, if they don't close your account threaten them and deal with them strictly. They are all ###.

Union Telecom fraud

This copmany is fraud trying to rip of the customers charging their credit cards without their consent selling fake long distance plans same thing they did with me.
I am seeking the legal help and asking the government officials to investigate the matter. A formal cmoplanint is being filed to concerned departments and fbi.

I have the same experience from this company. They are fraud. I was told that they will credit my deposit whenever I close my account. But they are mean. They don't return phone calls when I called them there people are very rude and they gave me [protected] number and use 10 digits pin. I will have 300 minutes for $40.00 dollar deposirt. I think this company should be closed as soon as possible. They are the bad name for India.

Better business Bureau should look into it and we shluld get our money back.

This is really a fraud company. Same story but hope this comments will help new innocent people.

(1) I am from Canada, I have never given my credit card to any of US company or friends. After joinning this company I have provided my account details to charge $ 40 as deposite. With in 3 months I found there is e-bay purchase from my account and on contacting Bank, they found that the e-bay purchase was done in US and luckily e-bay policy is they will not use Canada credit card for US Purchase and hence they agreed that it was fraud as my card is Canadian card and immeidately cancell my credit card and credited $ 300 to my account.

Immediately I called Union and requested to cancell my account.

(2) Since Jan 2009, they have not paid depoiste $40 back to me. Everytime they said yes we will send you cheque in a week time call us if you do not received and that week is never came in last 60 weeks.

I don't know what to say to this company? People have realdy said all the possible bad words but by keeping bad words in this type of post will shows frustration but what will be impact to company or to new inocent people?

The company is Fraud, no dout. They charged more than 1000 minuits for 100 minitues calls. the charged my credit card for more than $192 for calls I never made, the credit card was givin to the company to pay for the depoist of $39.5 which they use in case if I am late for a month payment . Instead of cancelling my account as I requested and charge my depost the last month bill of $5.85, they charge the credit card after 4 months for $192. and asked me to pay the late month bill of $5 in order of me to receive my deposit. It is scam and fraud and mafia and they should not be in buisness.

Union Telecom is a fraud outfit. They charged my account with almost $1900 worth of charges, almost all of them to countries that speak Arabic languages. Libya, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, etc. This was all dismissed in 2007 as they indicated that they recognized that those were fraudulent charges. They also, I believe, sold my credit card number to someone just outside Vancouver, BC, where they charged thousands to my card. The card company gave me a new card with a new number and I picked out the legitimate charges and I paid them. This was all in 2007 and all of that was behind me, I thought. Now they turned the phone bill that was resolved years ago over to a collection company, and they call me all hours of the night and write me threatening letter in Spanish. I don't speak Spanish. Like most Americans that were born in the USA, I only speak English, and I do a fine job of that. The collection company out of St. Paul calls me at 2am, 3am and 4am asking for their money, but frankly they, too, don't really speak English, so it takes a while for me to figure out what the heck they are talking about. I could use some sleep and one of these days someone in my situation will be going "postal" in St. Paul. I'll be looking for the article in a newspaper or TV story.

Union Telecom has three phone numbers associated with those charges. None are familiar to me. They had no problem giving them to me. One was in Michigan, one in Illinois, and the other in Virginia. I called all of them but got recorded messages from answering machines that sounded like Americans. Union Telecom needs to be plowed under.

On January 9, 2009, I received a phone call from a representative from Union Telecom. This person offered me a calling card service that I decided to accept. In order to subscribe to the service I was required to give them my bank debit card number so they could withdraw a deposit of $39.50. I was told that if I did not like this service, all I had to do was to cancel it and I will get my entire deposit back. They indeed withdrew $39.50 from my account on that day. On January 15, I decided to cancel the service because I realized that it was not worth it since I already have a better deal with my phone company. I called Union Telecom and cancelled my account, and after they verified that I did not use their service at all, I was told that it will take them about 3-4 weeks to process my request and deposit the money back into my bank account. I called them back on February 24, because they had not yet deposited the money. This time they said, that they will give me back the money on that same week. In March I called them back to ask about the money and they claimed they changed their policy and now they do not give cash back, instead they give a $50 calling card. With this card I will be paying 6 cents/minute (the original rate when I signed up was 1 cent/min) while with my phone company I only paid 1 cent/ minute. They are not respecting the original contract where they told me that the deposit was 100% refundable. UNION TELECOM IS A FRAUD! Do not do business with them.

A [censored] telemarketer calls me from Union Telecom and he refuses to give his number and name?! WTF.. And he was extremely offensive and called me rude?! I didnt even say anything other than the fact that he shouldnt be calling me because My number is on the Do not call list. How is that rude? its not rude for him to tell me to shut up but its rude for me to say that? THE WORST COMPANY EVER! And the RUDEST Telemarketer i've ever came across to. He even hung up on me.

I do not agree with Frida Holler. It is totally rubbish. The UNION TELECOM company is definitely a fraud. They are charging totally wrong duration for the call. I have noted down all my calls which I made using their 1-800.. no. and when I got the invoice, the duration of the calls are all too high. For. Eg.: a 25min. call was recorded and charged as 44 min. I am not talking about the duration after connection or anything, this is the time calculated immediately after dialing the 1-800... no. and till end of that call. This was true in all the calls. Now, regarding the TAX, Not just Indians, I have seen many other nationals have this issue. This is not a nationality issue. It is something individual to individual. There is a reason to be angry with the Union Telecom since their taxes and other charges are around 35%. I do not see a 35% tax is reasonable to see. Union Telecom refund money

I have cancelled my account before 3 months.. Still they are not refunding my deposite of $39.95 back.. I have phone them many time.. And they telling me that it will be deposit by next week.. But still I have not received any refund.. They are also not providing well manner customer service and hanging the phone without my solution..
Please pass me any solution if you have any..

They did the same to me...Initial big bill without no reason...then lot of chase but no call back ever...no money refund...they said we never agreed to return you money back and will provide you with fify GBP voucher for talkin...even that has not been provided till today.

They didn't even refund my security of $39.95 after two months of canel my deal. The company is claiming that they will refund the security within 45 days of the cancellation of deal.

I have never used the service, but did give them my credit card number. I was charged over $200 in 3 months before I got the card company to stop accepting bills from them. These are the fraudulent phone numbers that I've been charged for. Wondering if there's any overlap with others being charged. All calls overseas too. They told me I must be calling overseas because it's an international plan. I was never told that when I first signed up. Still haven't received any refund from the credit card company.

You are absolutely right. They are big ###.BBB is nothing. Even, Attorney General's office/FTC are helpless at this point in time. Try to get money back from your card co. And never give them card again even my mistake. Contact deptt. of comsumer protection. Write a complaint to UT by cerified mail/registered letter ask them to cancell charges. Find the rules of your state and ask UT to close your account in certain number of days and they would be doing a illegal thing.

same happened with me. i made no calls and got huge bill called to pakistan etc.
no refund from three months and they are such a big fraud that they are calling again and asking for another credit card nos and say we will return your previous money.

Union Telecom Unnecessary bill

I got one moth bill and they add other person call in my bill. Also when I call somewhere its disconnected automatic and always they charges me 0.39. They making fool out of people!

I totally agree with the comment above. UNION telecome gives the WOREST services ever! I was told that it was a great service and all, but they are all LIARS! They are all in India selling there services and say they are calling from "New York'. I was getting wrong charges every month and would have to call to get it fixed. And when i called the customer service SUCKED! They cannot speak proper english.. EVERY month i called and at last i got tired of it and cancled my service.. They charged me $39.99 as a one time fee and was suppose to be "fully" refundable when i cancled the account. Instead they told me that its not refundable and that if i wanted i could get a calling card from them. What makes them think that I would want a calling card from them when i dont even like the services. I advice to all the future and current customers of this company to discontinue it.. They are all LIARS!

My comment is a sincere advise to any new potential customer of Union Teleom. DO NOT SIGN WITH UNION TELECOM. They are liars. They have a process of depositing a $39.50 in advance and they say that this is a 'DEPOSIT' and fully refundable. When I cancel my servise and asked for my deposit back, they said this was not a deposit but a one time 'ACTIVATION FEE' and not a refundable.
People who have issues with Union Telecom, please register your complains with Better Business Bureau(www.BBB.ORG).

I fully agree to the above cooments.
To me Uniontelecom seems to reflect what went on various states about a scam by cell phone companies who ripped customers and obsconded without further address.They represent a land lane example.
I am having terrible problems with regard to their erratic billing procedure without any sense.They have a habit of jacking up the minutes used to national and international calls by retaining the number correct so that the customers do not suspect!.They have diversified type of misleading the customers and charging them.
They add phone calls done by unknown to some one else billing and keep silent.I am quite charged for an international calls to a country unknown to me!
Each time it is a question of spending hours in educating and questioning them.They have a general practice of jacking up bills to some $50-100 dollars per each cycle.When questioned, they would say they have given discount of say #20 or $25 dollars.What is this discount unless they have charged someone in excess.

What they agreed on initial discussion for long distance and international rates are not the one which reflect the bill.
They have a stupendous track record of bad business practice to ripp off customers.Many a times even the toll free numbers are unanswered or kept down after disconnection when request mistakes are enquired!
Any one would be careful while entering services from them

Union Telecom unsolicited phone calls

I got a sales call from a telemarketer for Union Telecom New York City, saying he was offering 2.5c/min on phone calls to India. He sounded of Indian origin as well. His call was at approx. 7.45 on Sunday morning and he woke up my family, especially our baby, who started crying immediately. The baby had already kept us up for most of the night.

I told this telemarketer that I never wanted him to call again, that I was not interested in his product or ever hearing from him again, and that he should take my number off his calling list. He proceeded to once gain tell me about the benefits of his company's product, and at this point I got angry and yelled at him and then cut off the phone. He then calls me back to heckle at me, make fun of me and tells me he'll call back again. Unfortunately, his number was blocked on CallerID.

uniontelecomusa son un grupo o empresa de verdaderas estafas, manténganse lo mas lejos de esas personas de las ventas de ellos dicen solo mentiras, cuando te dicen que tendrás un 20%de descuento o te dicen que tendrás 20 minutos gratis aun mas cuando te dicen que una tarifa de preferencia! te mienten, las llamadas de larga distancia pueden ser muy caras o baratas dependiendo al país donde llames pero union telecom se cuelga bien gacho con esas tarifas si haces una llamada de 30 minutos usando su servicio es probable o mas bien no te sorprendas cuando tu factura salga con un saldo a pagar de $.30.00
alguien debería hacer algo para parar a estos estafadores .
es mas seguiré recolectando información para y pidiendo ayuda adonde sea necesario para frenar estos mentirosos de primera hasta alcanzar que el estado de la florida revise sus políticas y sus servicios .

I guess I am one more victim to this company. After reading the many posts I guess I'm not alone. They over charged just about every phone call we made, usually almost double the number of minutes of actual talk time; many times just "Ghost" calls that we never made (because my wife can't use her phone while at work and our cell phone bill does not show that we called Union Telecom access numbers). Sometimes they billed us for calls made from a phone number that we disconnected 2 years ago.
Other times they charge me for calls to weird phone numbers that we never call -even to different countries. Their "Managers" -if you can call them that, are the worst; very unprofessional, rude, just nasty. I guess they know their company is stealing from customers to they try to come across as rude so you don't bother calling to complaint again. ***DO NOT USE THEM! STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET ROBBED.***

I just accept the service for second time, I made hundred of calls to Cuba, where I'm calling, I'd changed all my debir and credit card numbers, and DONE... I win. They never ask you for your social security or any other info, jst your name and method of payment. That's it, NOW. It's time to get all our money back. Go ahead and ask for an renewal. Cheat on they and they will never cheat on you.

This company is really a fraud I don't know how come they got my nos ( home and cell ) some one called me the other day and the guy who called me he don't even know English and he was giving me different deals but I ask him how could you get my nos. he said we purchased the nos. from other telemarketers even though if your nos are non directory they will get you some how after going through all these thing finally I refused them to get this service with them what they did they simply start calling on my home phone and start talking to my wife luckily she talk to me about it and I simply say NO to her they are cheaters, fraud and ###.
so please be careful with these people.

I will make sure to expose Union Telecom USA's illegal practices, worldwide so this will never happen to anyone ever again.
Since I established service with them almost 4 years ago, First I gave my checking bank info over the phone to charge a $50 refundable deposit, and nothing more, which turned to be a big mistake.
To my surprise they started deducting the bill out of my checking account without my consent or authorization, they have been using my account without my permission, this is illegal, as far as the law stands, and even though I gave them the benefit of the doubt, calling many times, when I received apologies, and promised to be billed through mail, yet it happened again and again! I finally had a new card for that account. I started getting harassing collection calls for payment before I even get the bill in the Mai! I was pressured to give my bank account again, to avoid these calls, I refused, and requested to close the account, to be promised again that everything will be to my satisfaction etc;

I continued to have the same problem every month, and I requested to close the acct, many times, I was always promised that the billing improved, and I get some discount as a token of appreciation, till close to the end of September 2010, when the account was suspended! for late payment! as usual before the bill was received!

I demanded to close my acct, and refund me my $50 deposit, after deducting $15.94 to pay for calls made 8/15/2010 through 9/3/2010, that was the end of September! I was told that would be in addition to any calls made during September which according to a bill received today $17.24, which total to $$33.18, so instead of a refund of $16.82, out of my $50 deposit held by you for almost 3 years! I have a bill for $61.09, no mention of deposit!

Apparently they added $9.50 (late fees) the $17.94 for calls from 9/10/2010 through 9/27/2010, while the bill came in the mail today 10/20/2010! no justification it's pathetic! so I figured out they must have added late fees on the prior bill of $15.94, and that's the one pays for calls through 9/3/2010, that was to be deducted from the deposit by the end of September when I closed the account! some how turned to $34.35, no justification!
I ended up with a bill for $61.09 for an actual$34.35 plus unjustifiable late fees! on top of that there is nothing about my $50 refundable deposit! and it doesn't state this is a final transaction! they refused to refund me the $16.82, I really thought of taking legal action, but I have no time for low life scums, I just don't want anyone to fall into their trap.

I started with uniontell about a yr. ago. Tired OF calls keep dropping ( for them to restart and charge additional new connection charges) I requested to get my refund of $39.99 deposit they received at beginning of service. I was told that they will issue me only calling card ( worth $50) and I insisted on getting either the refund or apply my refund to my last billing. Everyday some one keep calling home and cell to get the payment due authorized and they were all saying we will keep calling until you pay and accept $50 calling card for refund.
Finally I thought some one in senior management may help me so the so called supervisor Arnold Richards came on phone and promised in the email to give me calling card of $50 and the rate will be 5 cents/min to India. I authorized bill payment to get red of them and he sent me the PIN etc for $50 calling card. THE CARD LAST ONLY 1 MINUTE AND NO MORE FUNDS AVAILABLE.

Union Telecom connection fee + wrong billing!

A telemarketing person called me stating that India calling is available at 4 cents a minute. I signed up for that. After a month I got a bill showing connection fee of 39 cents for each call. I called them and the customer service person stated that they have 2 plans: one without connection fee which is 7 cents and other with connection fee + 4 cents. After lot arguing he agreed to give a refund of $10 in next months bill. I got 2nd months bill, which showed 12 cents per minute and hefty tax of 30 %. I called them again. They were talking rubbish and I didn't waste more time with them.

Don't sign up with them.

CUSTOMER BE AWARE, THIS COMPANY IS FRAUDULENT.
Bad call quality unnecessary charges so i cut the calling subscription and the did not want to refund my deposit. If i have not involve the BBB, i would not have receive my deposit back. When signing up, they tell me that my deposit will be refunded within 24hrs upon cancellation, which also at the time was it noted on the "terms and conditions " (which off course no longer there but i have an original copy of the initial terms and conditions).. that did not happen. 8 weeks later i finally 6/28/2014, i finally receive my deposit. Also they are fund of taking money from your bank account without authorization. Am currently working with my bank and lawyer about this and will file a claim soon through a court of law because that is unauthorized withdrawal from someone bank account. Also from looking at their terms and conditions, this company has change their name from NuEra telecom to Union Telecom just to scam customer. i was once a NuEra telecom customer and the same issue happen with them. They should be band from the US market. Thank you BBB for looking into this, you guys are the best

Union Telecom promised to return deposit of $40 on termination of contract. Have been calling for 2 years and no money in sight. Always one digit is wrong in their address. They sent a cheque but since it went to the wrong address, what can they do. What kind of a system do they have that cannot keep a customer address saved correctly ? Why are companies like these being allowed to rip off their customers ?

Sole me their services with a refundable security deposit. With in a month I discover the billing is more then I thought. each call was calculated wrong. I cancelled my services and asked for my security deposit back. They said we have to wait until all my payments are clear. after they got all my payments. Then they told me that was not a refundable deposit. that was a activation fee. have to ever heard a activation fee on the home phone? may be a switch provider fee for $5.00. Activation fee applied only on the new Cell phone service in united states.

What a fraud company. Please do not buy their services. Hope someone investigate them and get our money back.

i gave security deposit to union telecom canada to make longdistance calls also gave credit card#. As i live in Brampton ontario . But when i received the statement most of the calls were made from vancouver BC area.And the phone company took money from my credit card . Now neither i m getting refund nor they returning my security deposit. There was no contract, I can cancel any time. I send 2 e-mails and no answer, I made too many phone calls every time a different story. This is about a four month old story and i am still waiting.

hi, i would like to tell you that the union telecom agent called me to offer better rates for calling to India and agent give me different rates and when he forward the call to manager to confirm the terms then the manager was telling me different rates which i refused.and and told them not to make any agreement and also told them not to take out any money out of my account. The manager told me that they will not take out any money because the contract has not been made. but even then they took money out of my account. Now after two years my account still shows activated. in these two years i have requested them to refund my money. Every time they promise to send my money back in two weeks. but that never happen . last time they offer me calling card wich i refused, because i do not beleive any more in that company. they are doing a fraud. they never refund my money

Union Telecom request a refundable deposit to start the long distance calling service. After trying the service for a few months and deciding for a better long distance calling service we decided to cancel and resquested the refund of the desposit. We began trying cencelling the service and requesting the deposit back in June of 08, and after being told that a refund check was on the way we waited. We never got the refund check, even after repeated calls. Everytime they kept making excuses. The last time we called in (November 08) they offered us a calling card to use and I asked them if the calling rate was the same as the service we had and I was told that the rate was the same. After using the card a few times the card was cancelled, and the amount of calls made were not even close to the calling rate we had when we signed for the service. I called customer support and requested additional calling minutes or a refund on what was left and was told that i was misinformed and they hanged up.
Do not use Union Telecom, there are better companies out there.

I signed up with union telecom services .There is no doubt that they are prioviding me good services with NO SCAMS in bill or otherwise .Its being 5 months i m using union telecom as the call rates are good as well as i have never faced any billing problem neither customer services with them .But from past few months i m recieving number 0f calls from union telecom from which i m piossed of... Its not that u should not go for this company but the concern is you should go for this company as you will save your money but make sure when you signs up get your name out of their calling list otherwise like me you will tired of picking their calls...

To make things simple, some guy by the name of Yuvraaj singh from Florida gives me a call and says there is a unlimited plan to India for 40 dollars a month. I sign up and within one month I get a bill for 148.00 I call up Yuvraaj Singh at his number [protected] and he tells me not sure why this happened. After days of waiting to hear back I finally get in touch again and he says maybe the policy changed not sure why will check and never gave me a call back. I yet to hear from him. I get a call from Union telecom constantly harrasing me and they are very rude. I try to dispute the bill saying it was unlimited and they don't listen and just blame it on you. Finally I said fine I will pay my 148.00 and when will I get my security deposit of 39.50 which by the way still states on the website its a security deposit and will be fully refunded and I was told you will not get it back because policy changed and I said what about your sales rep, they said does not matter what they said your security deposit is now a activation fee! I mean can they do that? Now I am not sure what to do but this company really needs to be brought to justice. I reported this incident to ftc.gov not sure what else I can do. It's just amazes me how this company is able to operate and no legal action has been filed yet for this company.

we signed up wiith the clear cut expectations of lower rates and refund of our deposit if & when we cancelled service.

the company is not running an ethical business, they bill you at higher than agreed rates, bill you for inflated time and now they are refusing to refund in cash and instead are offering refund only in calling card money.
