Unauthorized deduction from my VISA card
Complaint Rating: 0 % with 0 votes
Company information:

United States

They say that something that we had bought something either on line, on the phone or off of the TV and was offered a free $25 certificate (For something I don't know). They say that we got a free trial membership (In what I don't know) on 10-9-06 and started charging us $16.95 a month starting 11-17-06. We have never received anything from or about them, we do not know who they are. I called today to ask what the charges were and I was told that it was for discounts for "High end products, travel, etc.", the only income we have is Social Security, we do not travel, etc. I asked them for a full refund, the lady on the phone (Penny) said the membership would be cancelled and she would send it to some kind of a committee and they would send us a full refund, (When pigs fly), I think we have been had. My wife suggested we contact VISA and ask them not to honor any more charges from that company, I will do so.

Oh my God!! I know exactly how you feel! Two days ago on March 4, I had just re-loaded my empty Mastercard/Debit account with $100.00 to pay some bills easier online. I swear, not 2 minutes later, there were two charges:

WC *VALUE PLUS-V
800-475-1942 ,MN
Terminal: 55432868 -$24.95

WC *FUNSOURCE MNTHLY-V
800-475-1942 ,MN
Terminal: 55432868 -$ 24.95

The customer service rep I did finally get on the phone, was not only rude, but when I asked what these charges were for and who authorized them, he actually told me that there were three different memberships with different names, none of them mine, all linked to my one Mastercard number. Just the name thing alone should have been enough for them to assume the card could be stolen!! But then again, they were the one's who stole the money from me not ant of those names given. The guy also said that I have to give them my membership number or nothing could be done. "WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP". First of all, I said to him, " if I didn't make the charges how would I have a membersip number? Secondly, I asked him, "Why do I need that info now for a refund, yet not even my correct name or authorization was needed at all to make the charges in the first place."
