There was a charge on my cc for $19.95 which I did not authorize. The charge was on a date I was out of the country!!! I called and got an employee name and id#. The employee told me the charges would be reversed--we shall see. I have no idea how they got my cc# in the first place. 04/19/08

Same thing happened to me today. I was balancing my accounts and saw this Dealmax charge from 4/17/08 - called the number and they told me that they'd reverse the charge and cancel the account. I googled Dealmax and saw this and several other similar complaints.

I just cancelled my credit card and will be filing out the paperwork necessary to get the $19.95 back from my card company. My card company will investigate this charge and if they find that it was indeed a fraudulent charge, they will reverse the charges.

Don't wait for Dealmax to reimburse you - you may just find more charges on your card.

I had a similar problem happen to me and "DealMax". I canceled the card, and I am in the process of a charge back to them.

I don't understand how these ripoff companies can still be in business. I am looking to make a website against DealMax and Privacy Matters to warn people of their unethical billing practices.

Usually companies with a high amount of "chargebacks" have their merchants acccounts canceled so they can't process credit card transactions. I haven't read 1 story of any happy customers.

I have been twice on my credit card for the $19.95 and have two over drafts charges on my bank account, that I did not authorized and I want it credit to my account as soon as possible I don't ever recall been a member. I will have to report this to my bank as soon as possible.

I had the same charges appear for several months. I thought they were from my wife, and my wife thought they were from me (I work out of the country, hence the misunderstanding). When my wife lost her credit/debit card, and had to cancel it, and the charges still appeared I knew something was up. My bank is trying to get the money back, and my wife called Dealmax, and they said they would cancel "my account" and credit me back for the last month. Dealmax claims that I signed up through a transaction with www.vitacost.com, and that Dealmax sent me an email that I responded to authorizing the subscription. The first part I can't verify, and the second part is untrue, unless they have found a way to log into my email as well. Unfortunately canceling my credit card while I am out of the country could leave me stranded, so it's not an option. Does anyone know if a class action is appropriate in this situation? I feel violated and I'm determined to get adequate retribution!
