My fiance signed up for Keiser College. They said that they walked him through the entire admissions, registration, financial aid, etc processes. When it came closer for school to start, we found that he could only get loans totaling the tuition. He was actually turned down for 2 different general student loans normally used to cover living expenses (we still haven't been able to find out why). We weren't sure if we could afford it, but tried to make a go of it. We found that he simply couldn't work full time and go to school full time. After he finished his first class (I think this was one month into his first semester) he tried to withdraw. They told him that there is no withdrawal and that he would be charged for an entire semester. My finance called his lender, who said they would be happy to reverse everything (likely he'd still have to pay the origination fees) but Keiser won't give them the money back. I'd never heard of a school doing this so he's tried talking to everyone up to the Provost. Keiser had no interest in making sure he could afford to go to school. They worked with him until he'd garnered enough loans to cover their expenses, then they handed him some websites and walked away. Can they do this? Hold his loans hostage and charge the $14, 000 after only one class? I haven't been able to find anything on their site with any numbers-even on tuition estimates or withdrawal policies!

Unfortunately, I have no good comments to offer about Keiser either.

I took one class with them about 8 years ago, which I completed but decided not to continue on with them. At the time, I was on active duty and was using Tuition Assistance which pays for your classes in full AS YOU TAKE AND PASS THEM. At no time was I told that I had to pay for an entire semester up front. Well now that I'm trying to use my GI Bill to return to school, no school will take me because they require all transcripts from previous colleges and Keiser is holding mine hostage. I've contacted the agency my account was given to and they are sending me a copy of the school's "ledger" as proof that I owe the money. Well as far as I'm concerned, if Keiser can't produce a copy of the contract or agreement with my signature acknowledging and agreeing to those terms, I don't owe them jack! As a matter of fact, if this is the case, I plan to put Keiser and their accrediting body on blast by contacting the local news in my area and they local news for the campus I attended. What they're doing to people is not fair and just complaining about it amongst ourselves is not going to help. KEISER NEEDS TO BE STOPPED AND SHUT DOWN!
I can't improve the quality of my or my family's life without an education or use the GI Bill benefit I've earned after 20 years of honorable service. Something definitely has to be done!

Seems like the comment about class action lawsuits is not a bad idea. If there are enough complaints to sallie mae and to your local congressman, they will lose the ability to obtain any federal funding. That would put them out of business and the way it sounds here, that would not be a bad thing. Has ANYONE had a good experience with Keiser?

My girl friend signed up for one class so she could be put on the waiting list for her program in Daytona, Flroida. We drove down there for orientation and we found out that they signed her up for a class in a week that she had told them she was taking with a local community college, and she had never stated she wanted enrolled in the secound class. After showing the school numberous emails reguarding not taking this class with them they said they would take her out of the class before it even started. A few weeks ago my girlfriend was billed for $2, 000 for that class they said they removed her from. After numberous attempts at contacting the school on reguards to the billing she was mailed the bill again stating that she had 30 days or they would send her to collections. Needless to say two weeks later she was contacted by a collection agent requestiong she paid her bill. We are in the process of finding legel help, any tips?

Unfortunately, Keiser University is attempting to rip me off also. I am being charged over $8, 000.00 for classes I withdrew. I refuse to pay for services I did not receive and would rather donate the funds to an attorney for legal action to save others from this unconscionable scam. A legitimate school will not conduct business in this fashion; only private schools that barely meet the criteria to operate as an institution of higher learning tend to deviate from common business practices. If anyone wishes to pursue litigation against this type of scam, you can count me in also. Attempting to attain an education in this economic environment is tough enough and we can do without a school’s financial shakedown.

I attended one semester at this school realized I was getting the run around and could not afford how much the tuition was. explained that to them and told them I would not be attending the next semester. I did finish and pay for the first. Yesterday which is 4 years after I stopped going I received a call from FMS which is a debt collector for keiser college telling me I owe them $2, 000. I told the man that I never once attended a single class for that semester and they refused to let me drop out. Now I am likely to be sued due to this since they have turned it over to a debt collector. The man threatened me with putting it on me credit, not being able to attend other colleges. I told the man I have been attending another college for over a year now, and if they put it on my credit I will sue them. The school tried taking out a loan under my name but they hade to return it as well as the grant since I did not attend one class. They harrassed me after that telling me if I returned and finished the program they would wipe out what I owed. This school is crazy and I am about ready to sue them if they put this on my credit!

I went there for paralegal training and withdrew after completing almost all of the classes. After my finals for the spring semester... I had two summer classes left. I gave them notice I was leaving due to severe health issues with my son. They assured me I would not be charged. I was not charged...however they accepted a Federal loan when I wasn't even living in the State. I have fought them for years. Now they took my tax refund. They are lying thieves! STAY AWAY FROM THIS RAT HOLE!

I have had my own experience with Keiser Career College and the way that they conduct themselves as a legitimate company is a crying shame! I first started the school with the intentions of becoming a pharmacy tech and more than half way thru the program a new teacher was brought in and she did not have a clue on how to do calculations and came to work every day late! What kind of person that calls themselves professionals when they show up to work late every day?
She was a student, a pharmacist reject from another major college, getting halfway through the pharmacy program and then dropped because she could not cut it! What really took the cake for me is that she did not order text books for the calculations class and going a whole week without a book! It makes no sense why this place should even stay in business ripping off students and not giving them the quality education that they pay for!

As far as I am concered, this is not a litigimate university. They wouldn't let my son withdraw after 1 class due to back problems. They made him take online courses for the remaining classes, which moved so fast, about 3 weeks each, he couldn't keep up. We lost the enitre semester 's tuition, and then they submitted for the next semester on the 23rd of February to all the loan programs. We sent them a formal withdrawl letter on the 25th, and they have not returned the loan money to the loan programs as yet. All in All, they say we now have loans to pay back in excess of $17, 000. None of which we have gotten any benefit from. Also, they charged us $100.00 withdrawal fee. That doens't seem right when we were between semesters. Total scam...someone should do something about this...they are preying on people who can not afford to pay back the loans, and who probably shouldn't have been admitted in the first place...STAY AWAY! Better yet, CALL YOUR CONGRESSMAN...I'm going to!

I went to game design there they are a a bunch of clueless idiots. Yes they do go ahead and handle all this "Fabled" paperwork for you and then they vanish. You get called and they forget or dont know why they called if you happen to miss the call and call back. They ALWAYS lose paper work and they are SO unhelpful its amazing. Noone down in the financial aid knows their job or even their role. Ive gone down on many occasions to speak with them and they cant explain a darn thing about what is going on or why you are having problems financially etc. As a previous poster said "they are all ghetto types" is totally true, funny enough Keiser puts themselves high up and says "We value our school and everyone in it must be dressed professionally, slacks, nice shirt and tie with shirt tucked in." I have to wonder about 95% of the people who go to this institution as they all dress like something out of a wanna be hip hop video and noone says anything about it because well if you do who knows maybe one of the minority groups will target you for racism...

I agree 100% about the quality of students who attend this school and their "car salesman" type tactics to get you to sign on the dotted line. I was not familiar with this school, and unfortunately did register. After two classes and seeing what the place really was, and being treated terribly as well as others by their financial aid staff, I withdrew. I also hired an attorney.

They got $7000.00 in loans on my behalf but never let me see any checks, how they were used, etc.. They refuse to return any monies to me, they refuse to acknowledge any wrongdoing and they refuse to return my transcript.

I encourage each and every single student of this school to write a complaint letter to the Better Business Bureau, Sallie Mae and any and everyone else possible.

I to will have to withdraw from Keiser College because I found out that the only loans I will get will only be loans totaling my tution . If they had been up front with me I would have made a different choice of school

Unfortunately I began this school and finished all the intro classes before my program's (Radiology Tech) core was to begin. Due to the economy being so bad now and jobs scarce and also my company's refusal to flex my schedule I had to withdraw...I simply could not leave my job 100%. I am in the process of withdrawing from this school and I am freaked my the comments made here.
I do have some observations about this school(Kendall campus). The students "allowed" in this school are scary, they barely speak English, write English, behave unprofessional and are literally "clueless ghetto types." I hate to say but it is true. Most failed their classes or got low grades but they were allowed to take the classes over. The professors are all wonderful but you can tell they are under pressure to make it easy for students to pass so that says a lot when students fail classes. Most of these students I can't even imagine in any type of professional setting.
Like others said here, Keiser is very quick to get you in and enroll you and they sign all the student loan forms without explaining anything about those loans. They are so quick to get you in school that, in my case, they "dumped' me in an advanced class without taking that course's intro class! Also this school is a private school and VERY EXPENSIVE...

Dont pay attention to losers like Bob. Obviously he is a ###.

Thanks for the info because they have been hounding me to go to their school. I simply dont return their calls since I know its a rip off. Make sure you didnt sign any student loan paper work. Once it has his signature he is scarred and needs to pay that money back. Its a hidden scam for schools like Keiser and ATI. Good luck.
