U-Haul International - took a tow dolly without calling or anything while we were still renting it.

On Saturday, October 3rd we rented a U-Haul truck and tow dolly to move my aging 78 year old Mother from Oregon to Washington State. It was due to be returned on Monday, October 5th. We arrived to my residence that night (the 3rd) in Washington state. The next day we unloaded her little car and unhooked the tow dolly so we could take the UHaul truck to storage and unload it. We were gone for about 45 minutes. When we got back home the tow dolly was gone! Nowhere to be seen. I then called the Police and reported it stolen. A neighbor said they saw another UHaul truck pull up about 10 minutes after we left. I then proceeded to call the nearest UHaul and ask if by any strange chance did they pick up our tow dolly? They said no, of course not. During all of this time my 78 year old Mother is stressed out beyond words, worrying she will have to pay for a tow dolly. not to mention my Son is walking all through the neighborhood searching, and my boyfriend is driving all over trying to spot a tow dolly. Finally we decided we would return the Uhaul truck as there isn't anything else we can do. Upon checking the Uhaul truck in, we told the people what had happened. They were very nice. A moment later the gal at the counter said, wait a minute, your tow dolly has been checked in at another Uhaul. She then called the other Uhaul that had the tow dolly. They were closed early but I did talk to a gal that was in charge of them. She said they had picked it up and she was confused as to why because she had been told by that we had dropped the tow dolly off in front of the Uhaul distributor. Someone is lying through there teeth. The tow dolly was parked right near my house when one of them basically stole it. We still were suppose to have it for another entire night and day. After much arguing and trying to get some kind of fair restitution for all the stress we had been through all she did was say she would refund $50 back to my Mothers account! Really? I have used Uhaul so many times I can't even count. If that is how they treat their customer I couldn't be anymore disgusted. My Mom was sick with worry for hours...hours. $50 is a insult and a slap in the face. Someone needs to lose there job and my Mother should at the very least be refunded for the entire fee...Uhal truck, Tow Dolly and all! Not to mention the police being involved. If need be we sill go to small claims court and press charges. I'm certain we will win with the police case number our neighbor witnessing the real location the tow dolly was picked up which wasn't in front of the distributor, and fact the tow dolly was stolen before we were even required to return it. I want some accountability from someone for my 102 pound 78 year old Mom having to go through Hell.
