2/13/2007 -2/19/2007 debit withdrawals on banking statement that are unauthorized for unknown services. How did this company get access to my account number and get this authorized. I am currently unemployed and I need my money to survive. This is totally unacceptable!

I just got my Bank statement and saw that they took $32.90 out from TWX AOL.
I don't want this charge on my next statement. I don't know what it's all about.
I had gotten free AOL for a long time. Since my computer crashed, I have been getting charged again.

I have been waiting for weeks to get the papers from this company so I can get my money back. When I call its so hard to get through to them. Is there anyone who can help get to the right people so that these unauthorized payments will stop?

4years ago by Leslie Tharp

I have had charges taken out of my checking account for at least 4 years maybe longer.
I never opened an account with aol so I didnt think to look.I called the fraud department at aol and made a claim.Im fighting to get my money back. The charges started Janurary of 2005 But they say they can only go back as far as november of 2005. I gave them prove by my bank statements . They say it doesnt matter. I told them if I didnt get all my money back then I was sueing them. They told me they have deposited money into my account but it hasnt showen up yet.I agree we should get together and sue aol. Teach them a lesson. Iwont give up til I get my money back that is rightfully my.

On August, 22 I was charged 11.99 which was correct. On 9-17 I was charged 49.00 which is not correct. Also, On 9-22 I was charged 19.88 this is not correct. I do not owe these last two charges. Just what are they for? My monthly statement should be 11.99 is my original amount, this I owe. I expect a refund on my statement for these other 2 charges.

I tried the AOL number about fraudulent charges & got computer message after computer message to finally be told to call back tomorrow during business hours. I then called my Discover card & they were wonderful. Luckily I caught the charge after the second time, within a 35 day period, so I will be reimbursed by Discover for the entire $51.80 on my account. They asked if I wanted to change card numbers, but instead I asked for Discover to block all AOL charges on my card. They were more than happy to do that & will fight the AOL charges themselves. I told them that I intended to report this to the Better Business Bureau and they helped further by giving me the 800 number.
Thanks Discover for giving me a happy ending!

TWX*AOL showed up on my bill last month. I called AOL to complain & have them take off the charge. They couldn't help me since I didn't have an account number...since I don't have their service & did not charge any service. It showed up again this month (I thought perhaps it was a single time charge- WRONG!)HOW! did they get my account info?! What a scam. I will be using the fraud number given on the first page of this complaint & pursue this legally if need be. I am also calling the Business Bureau and the local newspaper about AOL & Time Warner (found out that TWX = Time Warner from this complaint site...I had no idea!).
Good luck to others who are being taken advantage of...let's take them down!

I also just tried to notify greendot pre-paid credit card that twx.Aol was trying to take money that I put on the card not them out in the amount of $77.88 for something I did not authorize. I seen these charges after it was declined twice. 4 days later after informing greendot the charges were not approved. Greendot still allowed this purchase 4 days later. This is my money that both company's did as they wanted Now what?

I found charges on two of my accounts going back 3 years. They total more than 1500 bucks. I have never even had aol services. When I called aol they could not find any info for any account in my name, yet money has been taken out for over 3 years. Anyone have any advice other than balancing my checkbook monthly .

I have been receiving mail only with the understanding that it was a free service. I would like my money back as this was completely unauthorized. I would like answer back from you ASAP. If I don't hear from you within 5 days take my name totally out of your books as I will go to another service.

I have an unauthorized charge on my bank statement, too. It's been going on for about 6 months. When I made an inquiry with my bank they offered to stop payment for up to 90 days and investigate it, but ultimately, the burden is on me to get them to stop. I don't know how they got my bank account number. I never authorized payment through my checking account. My credit cards require substantiation that the payment is authorized. Unfortunately, MBNA Bank only offers to establish a new account which is a huge hassle if you have automated payments set up for utilities, insurance, etc. But, all of this aside, isn't this a criminal act? Shouldn't we be reporting this to a law enforcement agency? I will have my bank stop payment and investigate, but if this isn't resolved in a timely way, I will report it to the police and/or the FBI to see if they are addressing incidents of this nature. Good luck to all of you in resolving this problem.

This is the 2nd time AOL has bent me over and given it to me. I usually pay my credit card via e-banking, so I don't look at my statement very often. I just happened to look and there it was "TWX*Xdrive by AOL" for $9.95 a month. I immediately called my credit card company and they sent a fax to me to dispute the past 60 days worth of billing. I then called those ### at AOL and told them to immediately terminate this account. I agree with everyone "AOL SUCKS". I have never wanted anything to do with them and as far as I'm concerned TIME WARNER is just as bad. I would not trust them for any service what so ever. Just pisses me off that a company can get away with this. I'm writing to.

WTF? I just got charged from TWX AOL Service? I don't even have AOL and I haven't used AOL in ten years! It's been ten years because AOL always sucked and now they're making me pissed. I don't even used that credit card either because it's only used for emergencies. Can someone help me with this? I'm going to call my bank and blow a load out tomorrow. What makes me really really pissed is that I don't even use that credit card.

I do NOT have an account or screen name or any affiliation with AOL. I have fraudulent charges taken from my debit account from TWX AOL service, also. I will aggressively pursue this with my bank, Clark Howard, and any other support I can find. I HATE AOL. The nerve of them to subtract 25.90 from my bank account without authorization and the nerve of my bank to allow them to do this.Clark Howard.com says there will be forms coming to complain about these thieves, but I have not seen them yet. I will take any advice from anyone who has this problem.

I just had an unauthorized debit from my checking account for $30.90. Notified my bank and called AOL. It's like talking to a wall - if you can get thru to a real person. I picked the option that you can open a new account on and told the person I couldn't get thru to a real person any other way. He agreed to help me and file a fraud complaint with their fraud dept., who is to contact me within a week. First number is [protected]. Fraud dept is [protected]. From what I've read, you have to call the fraud dept and get nasty with them before anything is resolved. That's just what I'm getting ready to do. Wish me luck!

AOL is unreal! I don't have any services related to AOL at all. I have Comcast High Speed Internet! My family has never had AOL. How did they get my banking information? Does anyone have a number to call about this? My bank is also stupid is somehow blaming me for this. They have never seen a charge from AOL on any bank statement before this one and they're blaming me. Aside from that they are upset that I am leaving their bank due to pathetic "security".

The same thing happened to me, I received a notice from my bank showing an unauthorized charge from ever private card for $49.95, I immediately contacted my bank to report this case of fraud, I have never heard of this company nor did I authorized this charge to my checking account, I now have to get a new checking account number and order new checks, etc, this is very inconvenient for me and I just wanted to vent and let someone know how upset I am
