Very poor quality control!
Complaint Rating: 100 % with 1 votes
Company information:
TVDVDWorld
Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
United States

Quality control is very poor, in all 3 boxed sets I received Approx. 20% of the DVD would not "open". The good news is when I called to ask what I could do to get replacements, I was told I would get a refund [$ 400.00], it was credited to my account i 3days. To be fair, if this company had better quality control of their products, I would have been satisfied with all 3 sets. In my case they were HONEST.

Anthony, what number did you call for resolution? There is no answer at 1-866-646-0645.

I called DVD Express at 1-800-787-1219 and they indicated I would be getting a refund.

Buyer BEWARE on tvaddicts.com and the scam artist hiding behind 1-866-646-0645.

Update -- as of yesterday at around 12:00pm EDT, all the sites of this crook, i.e., tvdvdworld.tv, tvaddicts.tv, and www.allmyfavoriteshows.com -- have been disconnected!

SOMEone has been reading here.

Buyer BEWARE before dealing with online companies one does not know, EVEN if they come up as a result of a Google search.

I bought the Barney Miller DVD series from this same company. Recieved the package today (may 20, 2008). It is very obvious that these are DVD-R disks with pressed printed (quite badly I might add) labels attached to them. It's funny as working in manufacturing I can tell you this probably would cost $5 total to produce at home. Guess you really need to reasearch before you buy online. I will not and would not recommend dealing with this company. I am taking this to the local police department. I am not sure what they will do, I live in a small town and the police officers here are pretty bored most of the time. I am also contesting the charge on my credit card. Last I checked copywright infringement is a federal felony in the united states.

>>I am also contesting the charge on my credit card.

Mike, I did the same. No resolution yet.

Unfortunately, the crooks are back. Their sites are up again.

How can they be stopped?

Mike, they are in Canada. What recourse is there to shut them down permanently?

Well I got the bank to issue a credit to my account. I took the package there and showed it to them. They are in the process of contacting the company. They advised me to hold onto the DVD's until I was told otherwise. I suggested taking them to the local police department or even the Cleveland branch of the FBI. I have no idea if it will shut them down or not. But what I do know is for each copyright infringement (at least in the United States) there is a $250000.00 fine. I am holding 140 of them. So who knows, I would assume Canada would have similar laws. By my calculations that is like 45 million dollars in fines. I am also going to contact google. Having some experience with IT/Computer related stuffs I do know that to get your search to pop up on google's front page costs serious cash. There are companies that do nothing but charge for it (where your website will pop up on a search engine). I have to admit if they were up front about what I was getting and charged accordingly I wouldn't be so miffed. Hell if half the recorded DVD's they sent me worked I might have just let it go. I have a hard time throwing $100+ out the window though.

Ok just a quick update for anyone who is paying attention. I contested the charge with my bank (I used a debit card to pay). The bank did issue a provisional credit. Then they wanted proof that I returned the DVD's to this seller. I took photographs of the DVD's and sent them to the bank with the shipping documents from USPS. I could not get anyone on thier 800 number (at dvd world) and my emails were returned with fatal errors (IE the email address no longer exists). So I figured I would ship this back to the return address on the original package. I expedited it airmail (cost about $38.00) and the package was returned back to me with a note from Canadian postal authorities claiming the address did not exist. So at this point the bank has closed the investigation and given me my money back. Yet I am out about $40 (the certified letter photo's etc I sent to the bank cost an additional $5). So hey it sucks but I suppose I can chalk it up to my own actions. Don't buy anything from these people and always do reasearch on who an online seller is. I have had nothing but exceptional success with amazon, ebay, and yahoo. At least when going through these websites you have recourse.
