TVaddicts Sells junk

I waited for months to get the DVDs I ordered. They finally arrived and I found out very quickly that they were junk. Most of the DVDs will not play. I tried unsuccessfully to contact TVAddicts. Once they have your money, fogeddaboudit -- they're finished with you. Do not use these people. You WILL be disappointed. This was my first experience with being scammed. Since then I always check for reviews before purchasing anything on the web. After I purchased DVDs from TVAddicts I read several TERRIBLE reviews about these people. My advice: always do a review check before buying.

This is a company to be wary of. On June 10 I ordered a set of DVDs--"Car 54 Where Are You (the TV show). The only place I could find them was TV Addicts. I ordered using my Visa card. Later in the day I got an email saying the "card didn't work, to use a different card or try again, or contact the credit card company. I tried the card again--it is valid and isn't over the limit or anything. The same message--card doesn't work. This morning, I get two emails--the card worked and I was being shipped TWO (2) OF THE SAME DVD SET! I called the 800 number and got some Indian named "Jeff" who (though he couldn't speak English well) told me that "Yes, the orders are through and are shipped!" I told him I had contacted Visa earlier and that both had been charged to my account and I wanted one removed. He said he would do that. Later today (June 11, 2008) I get two emails saying the orders had been shipped. He told me that they had contacted the Canadian post office prior to shipping, that it was a standard procedure. I said I only wanted one set, he said he would "take care of the problemo!" He told me to call back "July 2" to check the status of the order--Three weeks from now! Okay. That's fine.

THEN--AND THIS IS THE KICKER--I GET TWO EMAILS SAYING THE DVD SETS ARE BACK ORDERED! UN-###ING-BELIEVEABLE! So I call the 800 number again, sit on hold for about seven minutes...then (you guessed it) Jeff answers in his inimitable broken English. I explain things. He says remember what he said "that morning: wait until July 2 to call!" I said I would not wait--he told me TWO HAD BEEN SHIPPED and now the order is back ordered? I go to the email sent me and clicked the "cancel and refund" hot button and get a message that "the refund option is not working--that I would have to call customer service!" Jeff says the request to cancel the one order is "pending" and that I should be patient and that the "orders have been shipped"--despite what the emails said!

I WOULD NEVER--NEVER ORDER FROM THESE IDIOTS AGAIN--NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE DEAL SEEMED TO BE!

I ordered the 'Invaders Complete Television Series' from TVADDICTS in December of 2006. The order number is 62366. In late December of 06 is sent notes about poor quality and defective recording. I have gotten acknowledgment of the problems and a promises to replace (I have all the emails) but no action to date. They have stopped returning my emails of late. Here are the major problems:

Disk No. 2 is not in good working order. Four episodes are supposed to be on the disk, however only two different shows are there, one each under two names and those have pauses and skips.

Disk 8, on Dark Outpost - the last portion of the program is viewable.

Disk 10, Has the same type problem as disk 2, that is The Captive = Believers & The Ransom = Task Force.

My conclusion is that this business is a complete fraud.

TVADDICTS - I reside in the UK and ordered a ($100) set of discs from this company. The resultant e mail claimed a confirmatory message would be sent within 48 hours. I received no such e mail and to date no discs have been delivered and my inquiries have been ignored. Unfortunately I did not see the complaints site prior to ordering, however, it is obviously a seriously fraudulent company and should be avoided at all costs, (complainants have mentioned money being stolen from accounts). DO NOT TRADE WITH THESE PEOPLE.

I ordered a dvd set of the tv series "Eight is Enough," which was priced at about $180 plus over $20 for shipping. They shipped it in a manila envelope and several of the cases were damaged. I immediately contacted them and, after many emails on my part and a few responses on theirs, they promised a refund. Although they stated my credit card was credited, it certainly was NOT. I did watch one of the dvds and it is of very low quality and appears to have been recorded straight from tv or from a tape made of the shows.

In short, the quality is quite poor and, when they bother to respond to a problem, they lie about it.

I ordered the full series of Hogan's Heroes from these people back in June.
The DVD's arrived OK but were badly packaged and all of the cases were damaged in some way. When I got around to playing the DVD's, most were unwatchable due to blobs and flashes on screen and bad audio. This is typical of the results you get when copying VCR tapes on to DVD. Some of the episodes are incomplete and in 3 cases, not on the DVD at all.

The last few DVD's feature CBS introductions ("CBS brings you this program in color!") and also some ads as to when the program next airs. Obviously copied from the TV. I have repeatedly emailed them for a replacement set, but I keep getting fobbed off. If one ever did arrive, I would be very surprised if the quality was any better. I strongly advise against dealing with this company or their accomplices DVDavenue.tv.

I have since ordered the same set from Amazon for less cost! Wish I'd known!

They are scammers, that's for sure. Now I would like to suggest that anyone reading this, and anyone reading this has been scammed by this company, file a complaint, not only online, but through the US Mail. I have done that and here is where you write: United States Government, Federal Trade Commission, Consumer Fraud Internet, Congress, Senators, Washington, D.C. 20001 with a copy going to Consumer Advocates Group, 1455 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest, Washington, D.C. 20004. I sent them copies of all the complaints listed on the Message Board. One person alone will probably not make a difference, but besieging them with complaints could make them take action.

I ordered "The Little House on the Prairie" Series 1-10 back on March 2007. I received my order and 10 weeks later and was very upset. Eight of the 9 DVD cases were damaged, I was missing Series #10, and the DVD's were HORRIBLE! They obviously were done unprofessionally. I then began emailing them that I wanted Series #10 sent to me immediately. Then I told them that I wanted a complete new series #-10. It took a few weeks, but I FINALLY got a response through email. They apologized to me and said that they would check on it. Weeks went by, I continued to email them and call them but got no response. My last email to the was that I wanted a full refund immediately. I now see that you can't even get on their website.

The bad part of all of this is that my 12 year old daughter saved up money to order these DVD's for herself. Now I can't get her a refund and she paid for a DVD that she did not receive.

I am VERY ANGRY ABOUT THIS WHOLE THING!

Both these company's are the same, and by what Ive now seen are just a bogus site. They seem to specialize in those DVD,S that are hard to get. Well they certainly are. They don't reply once they've taken the money, only to say your order is out of stock.
Surely you don't operate a viable business like this. I seem to have kissed goodbye to my £80 Although I have stopped my credit-card and looks now like I wont have to pay the bill as they've frozen account while they investigate. How are they allowed to continue to trade when similar complaints have been made as far back as FEB 2006. This is just a warning NEVER TO USE EITHER OF THE SITES. DVD avenue / TVaddicts.

I recently bought a DVD collection from a link I was given. I bought the complete series of the show Third Watch. When I got to season 2 I started having a lot of problems. 2 episodes have stopped working (one 1/2 way though, another 3 minutes into it!) and I have been unable to get them to continue.

THEN I realized that between 2 of the discs, there are TWENTY TWO episodes missing. One disc ends about halfway though one season, and than the next disc starts half way through the next! I don't know how they could have messed up this bad when making the DVDs (22 episodes!)

So of course, I emailed them telling them all these problems and I told them I want to return the product and get my money back! (You can not return an item from them until they give you a specific number, or something). I emailed them ions ago! Shouldn't they have emailed me back by now?! I emailed them again and still nothing. I mean, I spent over 100 bucks on this show from them, and they will not email me back! What am I suppose to do now?

I ordered a set of DVDs from TV addicts (aka dvd craze; they operate under several different names as well). Several of the discs wouldn't play at all, and all of them were damaged to some degree. I contacted them and they promised to send out replacements. Never got them.

I contacted them again, and they said the set was out of stock. It was, however, still available on their website! I contacted them several more times, and each time they reassured me they would be sending it right out to me. When I directly requested a refund, they ignored that e-mail, and I haven't heard from then since. It's been over a year now, and I realize I have been taken. I took a risk and bought the set from another online dealer (it cost about 1/2 as much as the one from dvdcraze had cost), and it has been WONDERFUL!

The dvdcraze set is worthless, and I no longer hold out any hope of them replacing the discs or refunding my money. Just wanted to warn other people to be wary of these sites, and keep in mind, they have several different aliases, but their sites all have the same phrases, so it is possible to tell which ones are owned by this unethical group.

TVaddicts Poor bootleg dvds!

I ordered the tv series rescue 8 for a relative and upon its arrival realized he had been duped. The discs were the poorest quality knockoffs i have ever seen. It looked like someone sat in front of the tv with an old movie camera and filmed it.The discs are obviously burned copies someone did on a dvr. The website has no contact info other than a number that is bogus. I assumed my relative had ordered from this company and that they were reputable. DO NOT give these maggots any business.

ordered complete series of night court on Jan 5th and my credit card was billed on Jan 7th 2008. I got one response that the order would ship in 5-7 working days, however my credit card had not been charged. This (bogus) company is taking our money, and smiling. Its about time someone took the bull by the horns and prosecuted them. My slow burn has turned into a raging fire.

TVaddicts Scam and cheating!

I thank everyone who lodged a complaint here, so I didn't make the same mistake, though I do feel bad for you. I'm a big Reboot fan, and when my dad sent me a link to TVAddicts that had all four seasons on DVD, I was elated. But he warned me to look into the company first, and I'm glad I did. I was not impressed by the unprofessional description they had: numerous grammatical and spelling errors, and the DVDs themselves were region-free, which is not a good sign. So I looked into the product: couldn't find anyone else selling it, which indicates it's not legit. Then I looked into the company itself, and I found numerous complaints against it. I would encourage those who are unsatisfied to lodge a complaint with the Better Business Bureau at http://www.bbb.org. As of right now, there's only one complaint against TVAddicts.tv. If enough people complain, the company may be forced to shut down.

I ordered the Sisters series dvd through tvaddicts in July 2007, they were very quick to ask for payment and accept it. I then emailed for a confirmation on my order and never heard anything concerning that, they then emailed me and told me it was a very popular series and it was on back order and would be shipped as soon as possible. I keep emailing them since then asking what was happening, eventually they gave me a bogus tracking code for Canadapost which i followed up on and lo and behold Canadapost had no record of it.

I did get hold of them a couple of times via Livechat on their website, with them promising that the dvd is on the way,but all the emails were worded the same time and time again.

Two people have contacted me via emailing concerning this company, telling me that they had the same experience and with advice and this is how i found this site. I have filed a compliant with Canadapost, i stated that i wanted them to know that this company was false using their name, as of yet i haven't received any news back. I also contacted the credit card provider, told them the situation and they said that the time lapse was too long and they couldn't help me.

I have all copies of correspondence with tvaddicts.

I too ordered from this company back on 12/4/07 - only the name they were using was DVDMonkey.com. I ordered the television series - 'Party of Five'. My credit card was billed for over $125. After about a month and no merchandise, I started emailing the company. I was given a bogus tracking code for Canada Post. It is now April 2008 - I do not have a refund nor do I have any merchandise.

I finally looked that company up on the Better Business Bureau website and found that I was only one of several hundred people ripped off by this company. They are being investigated by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. I wish that I had seen this website before I ordered from them. I will also double check with the BBB before making any purchases from an unknown company.

Well they may have gotten me when I ordered Hawaii five o and adam-12. I received one set but not the other. I called send e-mails and live chated with out any good. Then I got them I went to my bank and filed a fraud claim. I get my money back and they lose the one set they sent out. More people should file a fraud claim and get there money back and this would put them out of bussiness.

I also was doing research to make sure that the TVaddicts was legitimate. They advertised having the full six seasons of "Srubs". However, after I looked around the internet more, I found out that the sixth season will not even be released for another 2 months. There is no way the DVD set could be legitimate copies.

TVaddicts Horrible service!

Do not order from TVADDICTS! I recently ordered the TV series "A Different World" from tvaddicts.com. Upon first-time viewing of the dvds, the media skipped, paused, and froze several times presently the view ability. The discs are also missing episodes, which I later found out. So... like any decent person, I emailed TVAddicts and complained and requested a full refund. In their reply, they conceded to send me a new set of discs. The email is below:

"Dear Renee,

We apologize if we spoiled your enjoyment watching your favorite shows by receiving a defective discs. We will send you a brand new copies as a replacement of the defective DVD's set you received at our expense. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for your patience.

Sincerely,
Daisy"

Sooo... guess what happened, I never received the new/replacement discs. Whatever you do, DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE! THEY ARE CROOKS AND SHOULD BE PROSECUTED FOR STEALING.

Wow! I wish I had seen this site before I bought their product. I just received the whole series of Third Watch after waiting almost two months. Right off the bat, I noticed how the covors of each case where of poor quality. I had assumed I was getting a product that was legitimate. I opened up the package and noticed that one of the cases had been damaged. I checked the disks inside and none was damaged but when I open the other cases, 4 out of 7 disks inside where scratched to hell so I go to check the scratched disks to see if it where good. I found out, that not all disks were copied in the same format/same menu's. Disk #10 only had 3 episodes which the others where 8. Then I started to think, "am I getting all of my episodes!?" I guess not. Disk #7, instead of Third Watch (And all disks are labelled "Third Watch")its Melrose Place. All this was just one case out of three. I didn't bother checking the rest of them. Of coarse, I attempted to call them freak'n rat ###, can't get through to them. I go to the computer to find the web site and I googled "tvaddicts" and going down the list, I noticed this site. WOW! If you want to buy tv shows, buy from the actual company that made the show or series! I not gonna bother calling them now after reading whats on this site. I will take it in the ### on this one! Cheers all.

I received my order of Third Watch and it is a piece of junk. DO NOT EVER ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. If you have do not just accept your loss of funds Fight Back, . I am contacting the Canadian Gov and filing a complaint with the State Attoryney Office in the USA. It is agaainst the law to sell TV shows that have been recorded and copied from the networds. If you used a debit card for your purchase go to your bank and sign a statement that they are NEVER authorizaed to received funds from your account.

Boy, did I learn my lesson about human nature. These "people" are totally fraudulent. I can just ditto what has been written to date, except my favorite series is WINGS.
I contacted BBB and they replied quickly with a case no. and unfortunately had the same contacting problems I had. The "company/companies" may be in Canada or Yugoslavia! or not. I also contacted, fortunately soon enough, my credit card company and made sure no more withdrawls would be made from WEBDVD (or DVDDonkey, or TVAddicts, or TVDVDWorld, or whoever). Boy, do I feel like an internet idiot shopper.

I'am another victim. When I found TV ADDICTS. I was so

We ordered and paid for the complete series of "The Nanny". We haven't recieved anything yet. We ordered this two months ago. We recieved an email stating that this set was on back order, 2 months ago, but were given no expected time that we might be able to get it. I emailed them twice asking for ANY information on my order but never recieved an answer. We also called the number on the "back order" email but found that it was not a valid phone number. But they did charge the order to our credit card. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND DON'T ORDER FROM THESE GUYS.

Luckily, I did not get caught in their snare. While looking into TEK WAR, this website, as well as DVDDONKEY.COM, claimed that TEK WAR had two seaons with 99 episodes! That's outlandish. How many TV programs make 45 episodes in a year? Well, it so happens that TEK WAR only made 1 season with 18 epsiodes. Still, this is how these thiefs snare customers. They make products look better than they are. Then, they claim they are a secure website, but their check-out lane is on the http protocol, NOT the https protocol. That's a dead give away they are not legitimate. Then, when you go to buy the merchandise, they charge about 50% too much for shipping. On one fake order that I placed, they charged me $130 for shipping!
Another thing these predators do is they claim to have programs on DVD's that don't even exist, like STARMAN, for example. If you inquire about that claim, they will send you an email explaining that the DVD's were expertly made from TV recordings. This is illegal! That should be a red flag to any customer, but I suppose there are some people who are desperate enough to pay $99 plus $35 shipping for something that is not available anywhere else in the iniverse.

I'm convinced that this website is made by the same thiefs who constructed DVDDONKEY.COM. If you read the descriptions, in many cases they are identical. They also use the same time of java script for alert boxes. With a name like "donkey" and "addicts", it's plain to see these scam artists have a sinister sense of humor while they steal your money. They are con artists. They devote a lot of time to creating very legitimate looking art. This probably has fooled a lot of people. If there is justice in the world, these soul-less entities will be put in jail for a long long time. They've got to get caught eventually.
