I dont have all the information because they still haven't sent my order which was filled 5/31/10.

This company stated 2-3 weeks for delivery it has now been 7 weeks and today I called about the order and it was just sent out and should be here within 7-10 days. Which would have been fine if they had let me know it was going to take more than a month to recieve it! I never would have ordered it in the first place. They NEVER notified me of the delay in shipping my order and now state they "can not" stop further shipments untill I recieve this shipment!

In addition to that I waited 1 hour and 20 minutes before I could speak with a customer service representative, on a system that told me my wait time was 17 minutes 4 times! I will NEVER EVER order anything from this company again and would like to advise everyone to do the same! Unless you like waiting several months to recieve something which was promised 2-3 weeks.

Tristar Products Not honoring their contract

Dealers #4842, husband and wife, TRISTAR Vacuum Products DO NOT honor their end of their own contract when it is cancelled. I paid $89.95 down payment 11/10/11, submitted a notarized cancellation 11/12/11 and am still waiting for my refund. Their contract states 10 business days to refund...what kind of calendar do they use? DO NOT let these people show you any product. Get one from online for a tenth of the cost of what they ask. They do not have any remorse for their behavior and will stall as they have with me at every turn. I have been told three times they were going to be at my house to return in person my refund...I'M STILL WAITING. It has been nearly two (2) months since this cancellation. SLAM THE DOOR IF THEY APPEAR ON YOUR PORCH. TRISTAR VACUUM is getting a bad reputation through their selling techniques. I will tell everyone I can NOT to purchase through a salesperson representing this company.

The same couple also took advantage of my 76 year old elderly mother and talked her into a 3 year $3900 contract on a vacuum cleaner. My mother never really new what she was signing. It is really disgusting to take advantage of an elderly person.

Tristar Products Non refunding no return of sales tax paid when contract was cancelled

A husband and wife tag team, dealer #4842, said they had to make one more presentation before going home that night...(it was 4:45 p.m. I had just opened the door and took off my coat from being at a funeral of a sister-in-law) they offered me a free Airwick dispenser (with no oil for it) for letting them present their product..it didn't ...dumb me, I let them inside my home. They talked and demonstrated for 1 hr. 45 min. I kept saying their product was too much money and I didn't want to purchase; they had an answer for every no I made...with a bag full of offers and all equaling to about the same monies spent in the end...to get them to leave, I said I would take the product. They wanted to take my old vacuum but I wouldn't let them...thank goodness I insisted on that 'NO'. They wrote up their contract, I signed and also referenced I might cancel it before the 3-day clause expired. Of course you have to pay down something...I paid $89.95 for sales tax of the contract products. They were selling in conjunction the vacuum product and an also very expensive air filter system. Both can be purchased for about $550 plus tax...I checked. My sales tax check was cashed the next day...I couldn't stop payment. I called their office, left a phone message I was cancelling the contract and sent a written letter to their office, notarized with date, the same day...day 2 of my buyer remorse clause Their contract says if it is cancelled your contract within the 3-day time frame, any monies paid out will be returned within 10 business days. It has now been 25 days and still no refund. I even sent them a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return monies. They are not honest dealers...just fast talkers with a "hurry up and get it done today" attitude to get you to buy their products. I would not purchase from them. They were quick to take my check and have no remorse or conscience in doing the right thing in returning my money. My education has now been increased and cost me $89.95. I could get it back but it will cost me more to do so. I have chosen to notify the general public of their tactics instead. If I want a Tristar vacuum, it will more than likely be purchased online. I have phoned these dealers two other times requesting my refund but they won't return my calls. ..and thus far, no money. I have also made a complaint to their Dealer Finance Company and was told they would contact their dealer and get back with me before 3 hrs...I'm still waiting for that call, too. I'm sure they're working on how to prevent people like me from challenging them. This whole setup appears to be scamming and door-to-door snake oil salesmanship. I thought I was sharper than that..I guess my defenses were down that day. I hope others read this and make themselves aware of the audacity of these people groomed to PUSH and BROW beat to sell these products. Oh by the way, I vacuumed the same area of rug they used for their demo and it is still giving me lint and dust...go figure...their vacuum was supposed to work magic. dah. You can never clean enough. No product will ever eliminate dirt, dust and lint to be worth the amount of money suggested by these dealers. Be smart, close the door.

I contracted to purchase the TriStar system in August, 2014 (at nearly $3, 000). The system included a carpet shampoo machine and two air purifiers. The vacuum never worked satisfactorily and the air purifiers were never delivered. The dealers took the vacuum for repair three months ago. Although they report it as repaired, they have not returned it. Despite having paid more than $1, 100 in monthly payments, I do not have the complete system. While the finance company assures my payments are current, the company has no authority regarding the dealer and has been unable to contact the dealers. In essence, TriStar is an absentee company (difficult to contact) serviced by unprofessional dealers (in my case) who provide poor customer support. The only part of the equation that works well is the finance company. Scam or unprofessional dealers? With TriStar assuming the role of an absentee company, and the finance company and dealers unconnected, I am leaning to the latter.

Tristar Products Returns policy

I got a phone call for a "survey" about allergies. A few days later, they called me again, telling me I had won a prize. They asked if I would be home to accept it, and that they would show me a little pig as well. I didn't know what that was but it sounded fun. When they got there, they gave me this presentation on their vacuume cleaner. I wasn't expected to be getting a sales visit, and they guy kept "forgetting" about my prize. I was impressed by the vacuum and decided to get it. Well, the next night, I realized paying 2, 500 dollars for a vacuum cleaner was a little rediculous, so I called the guy back asking for him to come get it. He then told me that he couldn't take it back and that I had to call the phone number on the form. I called the phone number the next day and the lady on the phone said I had to mail back in the cancellation, and was extremely rude to me about it, saying "you're not supposed to call us!" really snotty like. I was appalled by the lousy customer service. What's worse, is that you have only 3 days to cancel, and you have to mail it in. That isn't nearly enought time to MAIL in a cancellation notice. In reality, you have 24 hours to change your mind and then run like hell to the postal office to mail in the cancellation OVERNIGHT. Hopefully they will get it by Monday, which is the final day to cancel, but I have a feeling they will tell me that they didn't get it in time or have some sort of excuse not to honor my cancellation. They should at least take cancellations over the phone since you have so little time to change your mind. If they don't honor my cancellation, I am going to a lawyer, their tactics are really sneaky. I should have realized it before I got the vacuum.

Tristar Products Poor quality / bad business practices

Poor quality and overpriced. Does not perform as advertised on TV. This product has absolutely no support as a bra. The spandex material is cheap and skimpy so you might as well wear nothing. They make their profit margins by charging exorbitantly on S&H and on the Bra itself. They include NO PACKING SLIP. Then when you call customer service about returning the product they will attempt to get you to keep the product by saying they will credit you ~$12.00. When you say "no", they immediately double that amount, which is the original S&H you paid. They will even say you cannot return the product without charging you more money. I had to go through my Visa Bank to get a return authorization. The bottom line is it's a lousy product from a company whose sales are the result of overcharging for a product, as well as S&H. The bra does not perform as advertised. Then Tristar Products Inc. makes it extremely difficult to return the product for a refund. I have yet to see how long my refund will take (delivery took 6 weeks), and when that happens, they still keep my original $25.00 S&H - almost half of the original price for the product. Buyer Beware.

Tristar Products Lies

I received phone call from a marketing company saying I filled out a survey and that I had a choice of 3 prizes to choose from. A 3 day 2 night stay at a hotel in Las Vegas/San Fransico...several location choices inside of thier network, a indoor smokeless grill, or $1, 000 to spend online. All I had to do to receive one of these gifts was to allow a vacuum cleaner company to ask me some questions for market research purposes, that I would not be pitched a sale. She said that they don't even sell these vacuums to the general public, they are just looking for feedback on the machine as part of thier market research. I said to myself, if I'm not obligated to buy anything, 30 minutes is a small price to pay for hotel accomodations. So I agreed and a person was scheduled to come the next day. They required that both me and my wife be present.

The gentlemen shows up. Very courteous and nice. He asked us Some questions about our shopping habits, What credit card services we prefer. The survey portion lasted about 10 minutes. He then began to show us the machine, talked about its build quality, how it is made in the US. He demonstrated how it cleans. We were very impressed by the machines ability to clean what we thought was our already clean furniture. He showed us several demonstrations but this lasted for almost 2 hours. Finally after he showed us everything, he asked us that money aside, would this be something we would be interested in purchasing. We said of course, it looks like a machine that can do its job. He then showed quoted us a price of close to $3, 000 for the machine and an air purifier, and a few payment options with added between $700 - $1, 200 in interest on top of the already high price. I did a quick googling online and found some complaints from people. Mainly complaining about the price. I told him we had no intentions of buying anything today, that we thought the visit was for our input. He started to become very pushy. Every time I told him no thanks, he would say but why? I don't understand why you don't want this machine that will clean your house. He was very persistant. He took another 20 minutes to pack up the mess he made in our living room and the whole time was trying to convince us. He ended up calling his HQ and made us an offer. He said we can have a demonstration model for $1, 500. That's a huge price reduction! That made us very suspicious. How can he just cut the price by $1, 500? I continued to decline and he then said I can have a brand new machine for $1, 000.00 for 1 year no interest! A brand new machine for $1, 000! This is crazy! I told him I will sleep on it, and that if it felt right in the morning. I would give him a call back. He swore I would pay full price and that this offer is only good this moment. I never believe those things. I said, I am sure if I call you in a few days, you will give me this price.

He finally gave up and left us a brochure to claim our hotel accommodations. I've been searching online and found a few people selling this machine for much less than $1, 000. Never make a purchase under pressure. My advice would be to sleep on it before committing to a major purchase. If it feels right a few days later, then go for it. I am glad I didn't fall to the pressure. I hope this review helps others before they make a major financial commitment with TriStar

Tristar Products Won't let you cancel or adjust an order

I purchased the Joan River Great Hair Day powder and the color sent is way off what the customer service operator told me it would be. I wanted the light blond, and was told not to do that - that the "blonde" would work, and the light blond was more for grey hair. Well, not sure who decided on the color labeling, but the "blonde" is about as dark as you can get - not quite black, but certainly no where near a blond, dark blond, or even light brown, medium brown color. Subsequently, i have tried to change the order - just the color, but I can't get through to anyone - tried for days. There are prompts, but no option for a live customer service rep. I decided then to just cancel the entire order and that is IMPOSSIBLE - if you hit the option to cancel, you NEVER get an operator to help. They hold you hostage! I will NEVER purchase from Tristar again.

Tristar Products Genie bra

I received my order of genie bra's May14th. I am so disapointed in this producy. As stated in many complaints the bra's are nothing like advertised. I am a DD and their was no support at all. The material is very light weight. I could go without a bra and look the same with or without the bra on. They mention about putting a pad in the bra. How can the company get away with this false advertising. Some one needs to close them down. I'am going to try and get a refund, but I didn't even get a copy of the order in my package. Just more advertisements as to how great their bra's are.
What a rip off. A VERY DISGUESTED CUSTOMER.

Tristar Products Illegal sales practices

Like many of the others here, I also received a knock at the door by a young man holding detergent. I'd never had a product demonstrated to me before and was actually looking to upgrade my vacuum, so I allowed him in. Big Mistake. Within minutes, he had another man in the house with me and was pitching his vacuum cleaner quite hard. Telling me that the other gentleman was his brother and this was his first sale, and he might lose his job if he didn't sell anything...though the two men looked nothing alike. Pulled out family pictures for me to see, and would NOT take no for an answer. When I told him that I wanted to confere with my father first, he asked me if I needed daddy to make all my decisions for me and became more and more agressive. I ended up buying a 2, 000 dollar vacuum b/c I honestly did not feel safe turning him down as i live alone and he was deliberately using his body posturing and voice to intimidate me. While going over the 30 day "money back" information, he skimmed over most parts and told me that only little old ladies or mentally incompetent people used that clause because most intelligent people knew what they were doing. I just nodded along, signed on the dotted line, and immediately after they left, called the home office and told them I did not want the unit and that they were to come back and get it. This time I made sure they did not step foot in my house. They were extremely mad when they returned and tried to re-enter my house but this time I stepped outside on the porch with them and made sure my neighbors were in the yard without viewing and shouting distance. When they saw that I would not capitulate, they actually started yelling at me, and then threw my old vacuum (that they had taken with them at point of sale) off the back of their truck and onto the ground like a lump of garbage. He started in on the whole "you're going to get my brother fired" crap again even though I specifically found out from the main office that they were NOT related. After they left, I contacted the BBB and the Attorney General's Office for my state and while on that website, I read about illegal sales tactics of door-t0-door salesmen and what customers can do to protect themselves. Every single red flag listed was part of their sales pitch. I read both the site and their paperwork, found the necessary documents, sent my refusal of services notice by registered mail with signature confirmation, and have NEVER opened my door for another salesman again.

We purchased the Healthmaster Elite and used it twice for light duty, it then sat undisturbed on the counter for some time, the 3rd time we tried to use it, it won't even get power. I know now, after reading all the complaints here: https://www.consumeraffairs.com/homeowners/healthmaster_blender.html and other boards, that this is a widely known problem for the Healthmaster, that not only does Tristar not honor their product warranty, but they are now distancing themselves from the product, almost as if they never helped to sell it, of note, the original site, http://myhealthmaster.com/?reqp=1&reqr=nzcdYaEvLaE5pv5jLab= is merely parked for free at GoDaddy.com I have written Tristar corporate offices, and indicated that without abuse or misuse of the product, the customer should never be charged in such cases. If this were one of Tristars cheaper products, I'd be alot less angry, but as it wasn't, I'm officially complaining. Tristars CEOs should not expect their customers to take any less in satisfaction than they themselves should, were they the customer, instead of us. Furthermore, I think there should be some sort of legal action a group of people can take, that would stop this sort of sale in it's tracks or at least force the company to make good. Buyer beware!

I ordered the cardio twister a month ago. when i received it was missing three parts. I called customer service. I spoke to an operator named Neil. I wanted to get a three day ground delivery on the missing parts. He could not do that so i asked for a superviser. He would not let me talk to a superviser. Instead continued to argue with me. telling me I could ship the whole unit back or wait for the parts. I hung up. then i just got the parts. it's missing 1 more part.

In November of 2008 I placed an order for the Obama Presidential Coin Collection, on line by supplying my credit card number. To
Date I have not received the order. I order 5 of the five coin collection sets at $19.95 per set for a total of $89.95 plus shipping and handling. I failed to receive a confirmation number that I could track. At this point I just want to know if the order was ever received to ensure that credit card is not charged. Were they back ordered? This collector's set is one of a kind and I would like to know the status so that if I need to re-order I can.

A reply is required.

When I ordered the bras and was told it would be 106.00 i was thinking of cancelling but the associate told me I would recieve a 50.00 gift card from walmart so i ordered. My account was debited 106.00, did not receive and the money was put back in my account so i just forgot about it then 1 month later my account was charged 30.00 i had to call "product services" as it was listed on my account and had it returned to my account then my account was charged 106.00 again and I got notice that the bras had shipped. well today i receive them and they are padded which i did not order and no walmart card. when i called genie bra they said they had nothing to do with the walmart offer and gave me a number to call well they said they are "product servies' and since I cancelled my membership (30.00) i did not qualify for the gift card. called genie bra and the superviser said big deal and so what basically. i will be sending the bras back and not exchanging and i will try the ahh bra instead!

The stopper in the spout came out so I ordered 2 replacements. So far, I have received 3 shipments of a replacement kit that includes the bucket, the wrench and the plunger for a total of 4 of each. I know have 4 buckets, 4 plungers and 4 wrenches, and one non-working juicer.

Emails to the company go unanswered and the phone service for their 'Customer Care' is horrid. They lie to you, put you on hold, then lie some more. The tracking of your package on the site is wrong.

Would strong advice any consumer to find a list of all of Tristar's products and steer clear of them completely.

As a senior citizen needing to have speeedy delivery of the Healtmaster, I made the sacrifice to pay it in one payment with promise of delivery in 5 to 7 business days. I ordered May 4, 2011 and tracking says I will not receive it unitl May 17, 2011. So do not believe Montel's promise of delivery. You might as well pay it in 4 payments, you will not get it any sooner. I ordered the elite model of health master. I should have known better than to truse anything they tell you when you order. They also try to sell you and offer every thing in the book to get you to pay more. No you can just call and place a simple order with no fuss or bother. He may have his heart in the right place Mr. Montel Williams, but I am afaid he is more interested in his pocket book than he is some old lady out here trying to get one of his HealthMaster elite units. Yes, I really am who I say I am.

TriStar operates in Arizona under the name of a company: Healthy Home Systems. Easy enough to look up. Preffered Credit is their "Loan" group.

Preffered Credit numbers (New Tristar credit group?)...

[protected] - (I have no idea who this number is for, but this is how the finance company contacts me)

[protected] (Preffered Credit HQ?)

Anyways, my experience with them has been something that I have ZERO doubts was illegal. They asked for my social, credit card, and told me I would have a job if I bought the vacuum and that after doing a certain number of demos it would be free.

The job promise is what got to me since my family was one of those that lost their home in the economic crisis. So I agreed and I thought what I filled out was a contract about the conditions. Anyway, they took me for "training" at their office after they had gotten on the phone with several people. I did the training and went for my first few 'demos' that week in which I realized the misleading nature of the company.

Then at the end of the week I asked for my paycheck and they said "What? That's only for commission". Then I asked when I would be recieving my Tristar to which they replied "Oh, you have to do this many demos and sales, then you'll get a free one which you sell to pay for the other TriStar you got on credit".

Then I found out later that they had used my info to faslify documents saying that I had worked in a place I've never heard of, nor have ever stepped foot in, so that THEY could make a sale. There was no FREE Tristar, even after all the demos, and now the credit company keeps calling and when I say they falsified statements, they say I commited fraud. I was 18 and only had a job when I was 16, I had no credit. I tried to tell them, but they just said that I was overstepping legal boundaries and they would keep quiet if I just kept paying. This is the situation I find myself in still, 2 years later.

Tristar Products Fraudulent warranty

Bought a Montel Williams Healthmaster blender June 2009. Paid extra to get heavy duty motor. It worked until October and then the engine stopped. The reset key did not work.

I was told I would get a replacement due to lifetime warranty. almost 6 months later still waiting to get a response. When I call them I get "transfered" to someone, I then get "cut off"! 8 times this has happened.

I have received two cards in snail mail from Tristar saying that there is a delay. REALLY?

Be warned! Don't purchase anything from these people and don't purchase this product. it is NOT worth the money.

Tristar Products Poor quality

Purchased both the tristar pump 12 ga. shotgun and the camo 20 ga. semi. Both guns held up for a while then the bolt came out of the pump and soon after the semi stopped ejecting. I use my guns and these could just not handle it. I would suggest staying away from these guns if you plan on actually using them. The pump was repaired and did funtion for about six months and guess what, another problem. The shotgun would not eject spent shells. The 20 gauge followed close behind with another problem. I now let them sit alone in the safe because I would dare not try to pass them along to someone else. I do take care of my firearms so that was not the issue, poor quality is the problem.

I bought a TriStar over under and when I got it out of the box the finish was very marginal. Lots of scratches on the receiver, the safety barrel select switch could hardly be moved, and the bluing on the barrel had a few bad spots. I understand that I bought a budget shotgun but TriStar's website states that their quality is excellent and a top priority. I also inquired about purchasing an extra barrel in a 20ga so I would have a conbo set. The reply I got back was that this was impossible to do and I should just buy a 20ga gun. My issue with that is the Tristar Over-unders are made by Khan, Khan also makes the Mossberg Silver Reserve 2, that is offered in a 12/20 combo set for 807.07 This calls to question that fact that if the Silver Reserve 2 is offered in a combo and is made by Khan, then why would TriStar tell me that it was impossible and or it would be way to expensive to manufacture. Khan offers a 12/20 combo themselves for 869.00 using a nicer wood, which is still a good price for and entry level over under. The price difference between the Mossberg and the TriStar was 100.00 I should of got the Mossberg, I could handle it a look at the fir and finish before purchase and to be talked down to by them as if I knew nothing about gun manufacturing was enough for me to sell my TriStar and purchase from another more reputable company.

Tristar Products Sales men

Last night we received a phone call about getting a free vacation package if this guy could come out and show us this vacuum. We said no but the lady on the phone said that we were not obligated to buy anything. We were told that it would take only 45 min but it actually took 2 hrs. When he got to our house he was very nice but at the end when we told him that we could not justify spending $3550 on a vaccuum he started to get smart and very rude. He proceeded to tell us that our house is filthy and he almost wouldn't leave. Him and my boyfriend proceeded to argue on the subject for 30min while he continued to put us down. He also said that simple minded people are the only people who cant justify spending that money and instead living in filth. He got a huge attitude and also made sexual comments althrough his presentation, which I beleive to be incredibly unprofessional. We liked what it did but in this economy we are not going to spend that kind of money on a vaccuum. We asked him for his card that way when we were ready to buy one we could call him. He proceeded to tell us that we had to buy one tonight or else could not get one and that he did not a a business card. What kind of "Proffessional Company"(LOL) doesn't give their potential buyers a business card. This business is ridiculous and after reading everybody elses complaints I am so glad that we did not go ahead and purchase one.

Truth About Tristar

This is for all of you consumers out there, that have been sucked in by Tristar Or are about to. Please read this carefully as I am going to tell you guys the truth about Tristar, how they work and what they do.

I was broke for a while, and checked the newspaper for a quick job, I had just lost my last one due to lack of work, So I came across this add that said “16$/hr set up and display call XXX XXXX. So I did, they asked me to come in for an interview and I did, at first it looked a little shady, and I wasn’t sure why there was so many vaccums around but I didn’t think much of it.

So once I had my very brief interview, they called me the same night and asked to come in for training on the weekend, so I did.

It was a Saturday, and as soon as I walked into the room I noticed another 10 people sitting around not knowing what was about to happen, and a big cardboard box in the corner of the room. We all sat there aimlessly, waiting for a manager or just anyone really to come in and tell us what was going on. A few minutes past and maybe another 5 people came into the room for “training”.

After a while, 2 guys walked into the room with paperwork, welcomed us and we just chatted about what everyone wanted to do in the near future, how much money the wanted to make and whatnot. Then he pulled out the big cardboard box and pulled out a VACCUM! Apparently its called an air purifier, but by the looks of it, it’s a machine, with a hose, and a brush at the end, and you use it to suck up dust and clean your home, so IT IS A VACCUM! The 2 managers seemed to be very offended once everyone was convinced it was a vaccum, and they basically started to do a demo, that took about ohhh 30 minutes. They let us use the vaccum and try it out, It was a neat machine, but at this point I knew what was happening and they were recruiting sales people.

Then they went over to the whiteboard and wrote the price of the machine on the board…yes $2900, and asked all of us to write down in our notebooks how much money we should get for selling one of them things. Everyone had a different answer, I wrote down $100-$150, I didn’t want to cross any lines or anything and I wasn’t exactly sure so that was my guess, I mean $150 bux per sale isn’t that bad, They had a look at everyone’s answers and went back to the white board.

Now get this, A Junior Sales person makes $400 PER MACHINE SOLD! INSANE HUH?! After selling 30 machines you make $800 per sale, and once you have reached your goal of selling 50 machines you get $1200 a POP!

Don’t believe that ### story about how they get paid by just demonstrating the machine to you, we get $25 bux if we’re lucky.

No one there was a starving student, They were hiring people and training them to become professional sales people!

So at this point all of us were in shock and thinking…ohh well that’s good money, but how easy is it to sell one of those machines. They were chatting for a while and then let us have a lunch break.

2 hours later we returned and there was about 7 or 8 people out of 15 left, the rest of them realized it was ###, I stayed, unfortunately.

Then the training started, we sat there for hours and hours almost every day, and finally they had us team up with the professionals that sell 4-5 machines a week and makes $1200 on each sale. All of them drive nice cars, and shop a lot, you might want to follow your salesperson out the door, because they’re instructed to park their nice car a few blocks away to not attract any attention.

So the work started, every morning at 10AM we would meet up in different areas around Calgary and deliver little scratch and win cards to peoples doors and stick them in the door or somewhere it was visible, we did that for 2-3 hours every morning, you weren’t allowed to go home, afterwards to shower because you had to be back for an hour training again and afterwards it was off to do shows, this gave people enough time to wake up, find their cards, scratch them and win…Oh by the way…EVERY CARD IS A WINNER, and ALL of them ARE THE SAME THING, you get a piece of paper that lets you book a hotel room for 3 days at a destination your choice, there is one in Calgary, and one in Kelowna, all the other ones are far away, and chances are you’ll never use them.

So after we had training (once delivering those damn scratch cards) we noticed that there was about 3 girls coming into the office and had their own special room set up in the back with phones and whatnot, we were waiting around for the other sales people and our managers were in their offices on the phones trying to sell the machines.

A buddy of mine and I snuck into the room and checked out what the girls were doing, they were following a script (there were strict rules about following it) and there was phone books stacked in the back. Each girl had several pages ripped from the phone book and was just going thru every single name on the list and calling, that’s when they do the survey, and apparently one girl said that you had to do about 15 pages of surveys a day, and there is 10 slots on every page for a survey…THAT’S A LOT OF PHONE CALLS. Once the surveys are completed they give them to the manager who hangs on to them for a couple of months, then there was another girl who had all the survey pages cut up and started calling everyone letting them know they won a prize for doing the survey a while back (the survey takes 30 seconds so chances are you wont remember it) and to claim your prize we have to come to your house and demonstrate an air purifier. THAT AT THE END WE WILL TRY OUR VERY HARDEST TO SELL IT TO YOU!

People started calling in a few hours later that they had found a bingo card at their doors and they had won, a lot of people were excited, surely id be too if I won something, then the sales pitch comes in and the managers tell them that to claim their prize they have to watch a demonstration first about the amazing air purifier..its a damn VACCUM!

80% of people hang up and forget about it, the other 20% of people fall for it, and that’s when we get sent out on our missions. I felt really bad for older folks that were on their pension and cant exactly afford a machine like this at all, but they would fall for it, and the salesperson would maybe give them $200 bux off or something for a trade in their old vaccum. The old vaccums are SOLD on EBAY! So the company makes EVEN more money.

Don’t believe the story about the demo taking 15 to 20 minutes, it takes a good 2 hours to do a successful presentation, once we come in we HAVE to call our manager from YOUR phone and pretend like we care and how nice you and are how many kids you got and a dog and what not, this gives the manager more info on how much dirt there could be in your house, which will make the sale go even smoother later on, then we get on with the demo, afterwards we HAVE to call your manager again and that’s when the sale really starts, they do not let off, I felt so embarrassed whenever I had to put the clients on the phone with my boss as he just kept pushing and pushing and wouldn’t take no for an answer. I had to do my job, but if people didn’t want it, they didn’t want it, and there was times where I told a few clients that this machine really isn’t a big deal and I don’t get how they can save money on it down the road, sure it takes out all the dirt, but so does every other vaccum, except the really cheap ones at walmart without the brushes, those are crap! And don’t buy those, im serious! If you want to invest in a good vaccum, spend 100 bucks on it, and if it breaks in 2 years, whatever buy a better one, because they get better and better each year.

They made us work from 10am till about 10pm every day, without really making any money, because HEY, you’re self employed and why do they care.

What the machine is bought for is $500, the owner of the company gets $500 from every sale that is made by everyone, the manager that talks to you on the phone makes another $500 from EVERY sale that is made by everyone, and the rest is for the sales person because they are the ones out there selling them.

So technically, $2200 bucks is just for the sales people?!?! Is that right?!?

That’s why, if you cant afford the $2700 machine, they will keep dropping the price till about $1500 so they can still each make some money off it. Tristar is a deceitful company. All they want is your money, which is why I quit shortly after.

Its not worth your time watching a demonstration that takes over 2 hours, then someone pressuring you and making you feel low about not buying the machine, and in some cases get insults thrown at you, because YES, the salesperson or at least the couple I was with, were pretty offended after they were about to get kicked out, their mood suddenly changes and they become hostile. They will NOT leave your house if you try and kick them out, so either you DON’T let them in, or you have to call the cops on them. We are instructed to use your phone no matter what happens, only if you are in danger should you leave the house.

I warn all of you, if you really want to buy the vaccum, buy a new one over ebay that costs you $200 bucks, I got one myself, spend $250 on it, including shipping and handling and that was over a year and a half ago, it still works great and cleans my house, but NEVER would I buy anything from them directly. If you find a bingo card, burn it!

Just thought I would post this for everyone and warn all of you, it’s the best I could do, If you feel like dropping me a message please do so and maybe we can share our experience.

Thank you,

Mark L.

Good luck getting it serviced because you cant buy a new tristar online like ebay or even Craigslist. go to www.tristarclean.com and it will tell you that you have no free servicing and anything bought online will not be warrantied. good luck.. oh by they way you still bought a tristar so ...guess what quit talking bad about it if you bought one just to bad it was used and not warranted.

My brother got roped into working for Tri-Star. He worked for 2 weeks before he got frusterated with not selling any vacuums, except to us, which we got cheap cuz he worked for them. He was promised gas money for distributing the bingo cards but never did. He was told were to go for the demonstrations, suppose to be good leads but in one day he had 3 people turn him away and spent 5 hours in total waiting for a call to tell him where to go.
On the vacuum side, it is a good vacuum but the cord isn't retractable, rolling around is difficult, it's heavy, and the vacuum handle when put together doesn't stand easily.
Overall, if you're looking for a job don't go with selling vacuums. Although they make a good point for the cost (You get regular maintence, and use of a steamer 25 times) who will spend $2700 ?

Tristar Products Fooled by fools

I ordered the Air Climber from Tristar Products Inc. which is based in Fairfield, NJ. I know this because I had done a research on the company. But the mistake I made was that I did all this after I was fooled by them. Their product the Air Climber is a total waste of money. It gets you nothing. I ordered it, paid for it through my credit card and was charged the very same day. Well they did not deliver the product on time though. They are punctual when they have to take money but when they have to deliver service it s horrible. This product of there is worthless. I tried it for around 3 months and have not seen any changes. Not even a slight change in my weight, it is totally useless. They advertise it very well but I should have understood that they are good at false advertising. I don't understand how I could believe in these crooks. Their product is nothing but a joke. They talk about so many things about results you will get after using the "Air Climber". Well, I saw none of those. Don't get fooled by these fools!

Tristar Products Customer service and scam

I'm sorry for the length of this, but I've been searching all afternoon for contact information for TriStar to file a complaint. Of course, all that is coming up in my google searches are negative experiences with TriStar sales calls, and phone numbers that don't work. So here is my own negative story. If you want to get to the best (or worst) part and skip the rest, then scroll down to the last few paragraphs where it gets really juicy:

One weekday, we received a scratch Bingo card in the mail. I scratched it to find out exactly what it was, full well knowing that it was probably going to be a "winner" of some sort of "prize" - and so would be all the other cards received in the neighbourhood. It turned out I was right in my assertion, and I had "won" one of the prizes listed on the back of the card - but to find out which prize, first I had to allow someone to come into my home to demonstrate some "cleaning products". The person I spoke to about it over the phone promised that it was not intended to sell me anything, but to offer them my feedback on the products. My husband tried to talk me out of it, but I didn't really have anything better to do that afternoon and was curious to see which prize I had "won". So I arranged a time for this guy to come to our house.

He showed up on time and brought with him another man whom he told me he was training. My husband was in the backyard cutting the lawn, but the salesman told me he could not go on unless both of us participated (which should have been my first clue that this was nothing more than a high pressure sales call). So he reluctantly came in the house to watch this demonstration which was promised to be no more than 20 minutes, but somehow turned into 2 hours.

The sales person was heavily tattooed, checked his cell phone text messages repeatedly throughout his time with us, and consistently used poor language throughout his presentation - particularly the "F" word. I have to admit that during the presentation, he had me convinced that this was a pretty good vacuum. However, we were never planning to buy one that day because we already had a vacuum and were not in the market for a new one. I honestly thought that we were simply offering feedback (I had participated in focus groups previously), so we were not wasting his time. Throughout the presentation when the salesman would ask us if we had any questions, my husband would ask "Yeah - how much is it?" to which the man would respond, "We'll get to that ..." Had we know this vacuum cost a ridiculous $3000 we would have kicked the guy out of our house long before the two hour mark.

By the end of the presentation when the price was finally revealed, the pressure really began. First he wanted to go out back to have a cigarette to give my husband and I time to "talk it over". We told him he didn't need to bother because we simply were not in the market for a $3000 vacuum. When he asked us why, I was honest and told him we could not afford it. My husband and I are just starting out. We just bought our first home and paid for a wedding. He is in the military, and I have a ton of student loans we are paying back on our modest incomes. And to be frank, what percentage of the population can afford to shell out $3000 (plus tax) on a vacuum cleaner?

Well then he started with the monthly payments. We could pay $30 per week (or close to that) for 5 years. He insisted we discuss out and he went outside to smoke. The guy he was training stayed in the house with us. When the salesman stepped out, I immediately turned to the man he was training and said to him, "You can tell him to quit with the pitch, because we really aren't buying one today." The salesman came back in a little while later and we told him too. Well then he started in with a whole thing about how he can only make this offer to five people a month and he could offer it to us if we could "keep it on the down low" - like he was doing us a favor or something. He offered us the vacuum for $1500 plus tax and we could make payments of approximately $12 per week. By this time, the company we had been expecting (my parents) had arrived after a five hour drive from my hometown. They were patiently waiting for this sales call to end so we could be free to greet them properly and so I could start dinner. I really just wanted these guys out of my house as the visit had run way past the time they had told me it would take.

He tried leaving again for us to talk over the new $1500 price with the payment plan. At this point, I stopped him and told him AGAIN that we were not interested. My husband told him, "This isn't the kind of thing we can decide on on the spur of the moment. We would need to sleep on it." The salesman said that was not allowed and we would have to make our decision right then and there. So we told him NO. When he asked why I again was honest and told him we cannot afford a $1500 vacuum either.

This is the point where I was completely insulted. Up to this point, I understood his tactics. I have a degree and background in marketing and sales. I got that he was trying to make a sale. But when he responded to me, he told us that $12 is coffee money - and that he felt sorry for us that we could not afford to spend $12 per week. My mother almost lost it on him hearing him insult us that way! He did not say he felt sorry for us that we were missing out on a great product - he clearly said he felt that way because we could not afford $12 per week. Now before you start feeling sorry for us too - don't get me wrong. We have an extra $12 per week. We aren't poor. But that $12 per week still adds up in the end to a $2000 or more vacuum cleaner with all the interest and tax added in. And I would rather put our $12 per week elsewhere - towards home improvements or student loans.

From that point on it was just completely awkward. He continued telling us how sorry he felt for us as he boxed the vacuum back up. Then he practically thew the dust and hair he had vacuumed out of our area carpet (the only carpet we have in our house) back onto the rug. This guy was clearly pissed he lost a sale. Then as he closed the door and exited our home, he turned back to me and told me he hopes we get some better jobs so we can make some more money and not be so poor. Are you serious?

Anyway, after he was safely out the door and drove away in his Mercedes Benz, my father gave me a look to show me it was clearly a stupid idea to let this salesman into my house. I guess I learned my lesson, and I won't be falling for those "free prizes" again, huh?

I had the EXACT same pitch to me last night Only it was one guy. He wouldn't leave. He was there for 2.5hours. I was so tired that I said yes. I really can't afford this vacuum. It's very nice and does what it's supposed to but I really don't need it. And the prize I won was NOT worth it. It's a 2 night stay in a hotel. NOT in my province. I am NOT impressed.

Tristar Products - Tristar vacuum? What a joke!

Tristar? What a joke. One evening my aunt and I were sitting at home, when there was a knock at the door. It was a young man who had a bottle of laundry soap, offering it to us in an exchange for them to come in for a demistration on a vacuum cleaner made by a company named Tristar. He and another young man came in. What a mistake.First this was only...

Tristar Products Unauthorized charges

Beware of Jack LaLannes Power Juicer scam on TV by Tristar Products Inc as they will scam you as they did me. They show and price a Classic Model PJ at a price of two easy payments of $49.90 each and an exorbitant S&H of $44.96. When the package arrives you discover that they have invoiced a Deluxe PJ and billed your credit card in the amount of $105.85 with a balance due of $59.95 as the 2nd payment. This amounts to hidden extortion. ($49.90 + $44.96 does not equal $105.85. They say that 'Deluxe' doesn't mean the Deluxe PJ when they ship out a Classic PJ model. If you pay the balance due and complain you can send it back for the same S&H. That amounts to being overcharged $18.99 plus 2-1/2 times the normal UPS charge for shipping. There are several other sites that only charge $14.95 for shipping. I've learned my lesson and will teach others to never buy anything from a TV Infomercial, especially Tristar Products Inc. My brother is a ghost writer for a popular magazine and he will help me spread the word. Always check the Internet before buying anything lest you get ripped off like I did!

I ordered Genie bras on March 22 and received them about May 13. They said it would be about 4 to 6 weeks. It was over 7 weeks.
I put on one of the Genie bras and wore it for a full day. By the end of the day my breasts hurt! I felt like someone had been hanging on them all day. There is ***NO*** SUPPORT whatsoever. I am returning them, but I see no return label in the bag they came in. There was not even a receipt in there.

The title is true on two counts. I ordered the flat iron because the infomercial indicated that you would not burn your head or ears because the edges remained cool to touch... Not... then the handle became extremely hot - too hot to keep holding on to so I decided to send it back. Well that was back on 7/23/08. After speaking to a representative and waiting a long time for a return label I have still not received my refund of $139.97 less S&H. I have called the company on several occasions and they assure me that my refund will be credited to my card. So far nothing.

One month has passed since my last phone call with a representative who indicated that a refund was on its way. When I called today the recording said that the offices are closed and are opened only from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday - Friday. Well its 2 p.m. on Thursday and no answer. I think I have been had. I will wait about two more weeks or until my next statement... then I'll probably report this to the Better Business Bureau.

What you'll need to do, is find the phone number for both Value Plus and Taste For Savings (each has their own phone number, you can find them online) and call up both companies, demand that you cancel and make sure to threaten legal action or the attorney general if they don't - if you do this they'll refund all your money.

Tristar Products Predatory sales practice

Predatory sales person coerced my elderly mother (78 yrs old) into purchasing this over priced monstrosity for over $1500. She cannot afford it on her Social Security. She lives in subsidized housing for crissakes and how they ever got her financed shows that there are predatory lending practices at play here with Bay Finance. This whole thing stinks to high heaven. These are the same predatory lenders and practices that we are bailing out. All the while my mother is an unwitting victim as are we all. ###!

you say Dyson is the way to go?... Did you know that Dyson is first made in Germany. second that before Dyson came out he had another vacuum called phantom that when people tried to get fixed or do the warranty on it, he filed bankruptcy. The whole point is the man who invented the dyson had 3 different vacuums that the company so called invented and he always filed bankruptcy. Just like any vacuum it still clogs and still blows dust. I hope anybody that uses a dyson or is thinking about getting one, should just buy the cheapest vacuum called bissel powerforce it will pick up the same 50% of the dirt like the Dyson. You settle for the get buy all the time but understand the good will always be better in the long run! Good luck on your many vacuums your gonna buy in a life time!

4 years ago, we received a phone call asking us to sit through a demo of a "home cleaning product", we were told that it would take 10 minutes, and we'd receive a free 3 day vacation.
The next day a young man showed up with a huge cardboard box. It took him 10 minutes just to get everything out of it, then another 5 minutes to put it all together. He said it was a tristar vacuum. He proceeded to suck up some sand from a container, then asked if our current vacuum was as good as the tristar, I told him yes, and said that I wanted to show him a demo of my own.
The BEST way to test any vacuum, is to hook it up to another vacuum (hose to hose), and turn both on, and see which one stops first.
I pulled out our Dyson, and hooked the hose up to the hose of the tristar, and turned both on. It took about 2 minutes for the tristar's motor to burn up. I have done the same thing to rainbow's, filterqueen's, hoovers, dirt devils, and I have always had the same results.
The tristar ($3000 + for a new one). Is too big, too complex, and has too many pieces to justify being bought, just like any rainbow, electrolux, or filterqueen vacuum's.
Dyson is the way to go, I've sprayed paint stripper on my walls, and then used my dyson to suck the old paint off after 10 minutes time.

Tristar Products Bogus company

I operate a business next to my house. One day a few weeks ago a guy came by and said he was thinking of doing business in the area, he sold air purifiers, wanted to meet some people, see if his product would do well here. (I'm already skeptical). He hands me a raffle card to fill out for $500 free gas as the grand prize. I did. He asked me a little about my business and left.
One week later I received a phone call from this company telling me I had won a drawing and I could choose between two prizes, a cutlery set or a free trip. (more skeptical) Figuring the trip was bogus I picked the free cutlery just to see what would happen. They asked if I would be home tomorrow and I said yes, I'd be working next door, they asked if I would participate in a survey about their product, I said sure. No one came.
Three days later I received a call to 'follow-up' on the survey and they were shocked that no one came out. They showed up two days later to deliver my free trip brochure. I told them that I asked for the cutlery and nothing was said. They asked when my husband would be home to participate in the survey. I told them not until later that evening but he would not participate anyway, if they had something to demonstrate, do it now. They would not demonstrate the vacuum-air purifier in my business, had to be my home. They came back at 6:00 that night and handed me a free vacation brochure (still no knives) and carried in a huge box and started assembling the vacuum cleaner. I told them I was not going to buy one but it didn't matter. I told them I chose the cutlery and it was never discussed again.
During the demonstration, which lasted 1 1-2 hours, he asked me how much I thought it cost and if I came within 50$ of the price I would win another prize. I guessed 1700$ and he marveled at my guess and said it was 1679$. I never saw my free gift. He explained to me how the price started at 2500$ and the sale price brought it down to under 1700$, if I bought it today he would knock off another 400$ and wrote down several easy payments for me to choose from. I declined all of them. Then he has the nerve to ask me WHY I wouldn't buy one, was business not going well, was my husband working, etc. Rude. I told him that I could not justify buying a vacuum cleaner for that amount of money.
I found out later that the 'free' trip was also a scam and I would have to listen to another sales pitch once I got there and had to put up 50$ of my own money first.
There were two people in the car they drove, one person came in and the other left. He had to use my cellphone to call his 'ride' to pick him up and we waited another 20 minutes after the sales pitch for him-her to arrive.
I am hoping that someone from the company calls to follow up on their visit to see if I changed my mind about buying the vacuum so I can tell them all this. The cutlery set is just a lie I guess, they figure who in their right mind would choose knives over a free three day vacation. It was 1 1-2 hour of my life that I will never get back. Bogus, bogus, bogus.
