I received a charge on my card from TLG company which I never authozie, they said I was signed up when I purchased airline tickets from Allegiant, I authorize Allegiant to charge my card to pay for my airfare not to subscribe me to other companies I dont know. I called this company and they didnt want to return my money is only $16.99 but if this is charge on a monthly basis during a year it could add up to a lot of money for something I dont use or know about. Now I have to call my bank to report this charges and which I never authorize it's just a waste of my time of being back and forther. I have never called this company until today because of the charges they made on my account...also never received any paper on the mail or e-mail saying i was enroll in this...

I want to prevent other people of going thru what i'm going right now, now i dont even feel online purchases with direct companies are secure since i dont even know if my information has been provided to other pple i dont even know about.

Chery see my note above to Bob - you can go on to the Better Business Bureau and search the company and put in a complaint... I am also going to be putting a complaint into the Attorney General tomorrow for the state they are incorporated in. Im pretty sure Im going to have a fight on my hands but I intend to be refunded the almost $100 they took out of my account over the last 10 months! Dont give up.. keep fighting them.

I too booked a flight through Priceline in April and in June I started getting charged 11.99 and I called right away and canceled and filed a complaint with my credit card company! I've booked through priceline before and never had this issue!

04/10/09 From the sound of these complaints, we were not the first ones to get hit by Great Fun Scam.
We got very little satisfaction from talking to Great Fun.
They always change the subject when I ask "hOW DID YOU GET OUR CARD NUMBER?". They promised twice to cancel the so called membership and send a credit to our credit card. FOR ALL CHARGES. It has been almost a month and the credit has not been sent. I am about ready to call the STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL

I had the same thing happen to me and it was a result of ordering tickets on Fandango. I called and talked to a supervisor who said she would reverse the charges and discontinue the charges and cancel the service. We will see what happens.

I have gotten repeated fraudulent charges from this scam-shop over the last two years. I call and cancel. They (supposedly) issue a credit to my card. The charges stop. Then, six months or so later, the charges start up again.

I called them today and cancellecd yet again. They said they are located in Ohio. Has anyone contacted the attorney general of the State of Ohio about this buisiness?

I KNEW I shouldn't have agreed to the 30 day trial for GreatFun! But Great Fun said that as long as I cancelled before 30 days, I would not be charged a penny. GREAT FUN Online Savings Lied. I called by the 10th day and got a cancellation code and everything. We are STILL being charged $11.99 each month. My credit card company is going after them now but that's beside the point. It's just wrong and Great Fun is not to be trusted.

I made a purchase on Avon.com and that is how Great Fun got my cc acct. info and began charging me 11.99 for the past six months. I have called the 800 number and have cancelled it. They claim I will no longer get any charges and that they will reimburse me the complete amt. charged over these past. I hope they keep their word...time will tell.

I made a resevation with TransAir and there is a link that ask you if you would like to find out about move savings. Once you click this link--you have automatically signed up for their Great Fun-- there is no information on what the savings are, and you have no idea that it is going to automatically charge your debit or credit card from the resevation you just made with the airlines. This shouldn't be happening and should be illeage for this company to do this. There is not a number to reach to call so someone about this.

I have now received two unwanted charges from TLG Fun on my credit card without authorization. It appears that I cashed a check by my bank not noticing that I automatically was enrolled into this program. Be sure to read the fine print, even when your bank is sending you a rebate check!

I emailed GreatFun yesterday and got their response today. They said they were unable to process refunds via e-mail. They told me to call theur Membership Department toll-free at [protected], opt 5 between Monday - Friday, 9:00a.m. - 11:00p.m. (EST). I called and spoke to Representative (first name) Chai #100188. She asked her supervisor about the refund and it was approved. They said they will refund the money to my credit card account in 10 biz days. I called DiscoverCard right away and asked them to note the above information in my account as proof. We will see if GreatFun will do what they promised.

I totally agree with Betty and Tom. I was just getting ready to pay for my DiscoverCard bill today and found this $11.99 charge from GreatFun. I called their technical support line [protected] and spoke to Omar who cancelled my account immediately. He gave me a cancellation number and his extension number. However, for refund of the initial $11.99 charge, I would have to call their membership dept tomorrow [protected]. Omar also explained that I supposedly "signed up" with GreatFun back in Aug, 08 when I purchased an airline ticket online from www.airtran.com. I will call their membership dept first thing tomorrow, and I hope the rep will be as helpful as Omar was. I'm just glad that I caught this very early on. After reading all of the complaints online, I feel unsafe to purchase anything online anymore. How can companies just hand over financial information to company like GreatFun? This is just not right. I will let you know what happens tomorrow after my call to their membership dept. Wish me luck!

This is TLG Great Fun... We just found out today that we were taken by this company for $36.00 out of our bank account. Here is a link to their information with the BBB of CT.

http://ct.bbb.org/WWWRoot/Report.aspx?site=29&bbb=0111&firm=41001179#complaint

They need to be shut down! They have been scamming people under all kinds of names for years by sneaking in under "legitimate" websites and swiping your credit card info. to sign you up for crap that you don't know you are ordering and you never receive. We talked with "Nancy" an "Executive Supervisor" this evening and after our conversation are being reimbursed $108 in total for all of the charges they have helped themselves to from our bank account. They say that Tom clicked on box while on the Columbia House website. He did not do that, he certianly didn't give them his banking information or permission to take money from the account! They also say that they have been sending us travel cupons and a magazine for the past year, nothing has been received from them... ever. "Nancy" told us that we may have "mistaken it for junk mail" to which we responded that maybe they disguise it as junk mail so they won't be so easily discovered! As for a magazine, none has ever been delivered to us and as for "TLG Great Fun" we had never heard of them until they were noticed stealing money from our bank account today. We need to get together and find a good lawyer to take up a CLASS ACTION SUITE against these jerks and every internet site that gives/sells them our banking/credit card information!

I agree with all of the posted complaints. I noticed on my last Visa statement TLG Great Fun for a charge of $11.99. I looked back at my previous statements and I've been charged this amount since July and first noticed it. I will be calling this company and complaining. If these charges do not stop I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and may still do that anyway. I did not authorize this charge.

I was ripped-off by ALG-whatever. I just bought Tickets through Cheap Tickets, last December, only to now realize that $11.99 is being deducted from my bank account. I never signed up for anything. I never received anything. So far I am out $119.90. I’m out of the country now, so it’s going to be an expensive task to try and retrieve those unauthorized payments. I’ll be sure and Youtube it too.

Thanks for the phone numbers to these two companies. I just found charges on my VISA from both TLG Complete Homeowner and TLG Great Fun for $12.99 each. At this time, the charges are pending so the bank could not give me their phone numbers. What other action can be taken to continue to alert the public to this fraud and get this company closed? I am also a member of Classmates.com. I'm going to start by contacting the Better Business Burea.

It seems to be there has to be a better screening process via credit card charges. Also I do not plan to join any other organization unless I know they will not sell my banking info.

Im going to write to the Readers Digest/That's Outrageous article. Any other suggestions, please post.

Sincerely,
L.B. Jacobs

This company slips in when you are making a purchase online and their page comes up with "How would like to save 15% on your next purchase?" Your charge card which is open, then is copied and suddenly you are billed, in my case, 12.95 each month! I complained and threatened to report them to every organization I could think of including Senior Abuse! They first offered two months refund, then six then finally the entire 12 months refund. I am waiting for my next statement. You never receive anything for the so-called membership. I will inform my charge company if the refund is not given.

I purchased an account with classmates.com and apparently when I did I somehow was signed up for an "account" with TLG Great Fun. I never authorized the three charges for $12.99 that were posted to my credit card. In fact I caught the second charge on the card and telephoned the credit card company. It was a weekend and while we were trying to figure it out TLG got me a third time. I cancelled the credit card. Monday morning I telephoned TLG Great Fun, cancelled the TLG "account" and demanded my money back, telling them I had never authorized the account. The TLG Great Fun service people I spoke with refused to refund my money. I persisted and the parent company, Trilegiant Corporation, sent me a form to fill out for a "request" for a refund. I returned the form. I am going to submit the complaint to the Consumer Advocate of my States Attorney's Office regardless of what happens. I am not holding my breath that they will give up my $38.97 voluntarily. I suggest anybody who has similar problems with TLG Great Fun contact their States Attorney's office. Anthony John.

The same thing happened to me - unauthorized use of my credit card. "Great Fun" owned by the Trilegiant Corporation would not consider refunding my money. The only thing that worked was filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau at http//www.connecticut.bbb.org. I also filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. After some back and forth denial on their part, they ultimately refunded all of the monthly charges for almost a year.

Good people: Do all these charges come through a JC Penny 'Family Rewards' program?
I found that an unauthorized charge on my credit card was actually from Penny's for
this 'discount service' every month. I did not even authorize that. I also recieved a bill
from Pain Vanish for a product I did not order.
Probably you wouldn't be reading this unless you've already had problems, so this email
won't prevent that, but there's safety in numbers, and we must stand together and let the
'scammers' know we're onto them.
