T.J. Maxx - rude cashier

I wanted to return a pair of designer shoes, and when the cashier looked at the bottom of the shoes, she shouted that these had been worn. I replied that they were not, and she looked at me like I was the biggest lier in the world and accused me again of wearing them. I tried to explain to her and the manager standing next to her that I did not wear the shoes and I would never return used shoes. There was some dirt on the bottom of the platform, but I showed the manager the heel which was untouched. I wanted to bring another pair of the same shoes (or any other) from the store to prove that when you try shoes on, they automatically get dirty and I bought them dirty already (but, it wasn't so bad at all).

Finally, she gave me the money back, but did not say sorry or explain her false accusing. Integrity is a part of my life, and, naturally, I feel very disappointed when people question it in such a rude way. The cashier made a wrong assumption and never apologized. If she did not have an opportunity to learn some ethical manners when being risen up, at least the store should provide some training to improve and/or teach to appropriate behavior and customer service.

I work for TJX. I'm so sorry that happened to you! Whenever cashiers double-charge, which is always on accident, our supervisors and/or managers will return the double charge with no complaint whatsoever. She should have at the very least kept her mouth shut while her supervisor processed the double charge-return. If you remember her name you should complain about it to the manager.

But also, keep in mind cashiers deal with customers every day that try to steal and pay for stuff cheaper than it is listed for. So she could have been having a bad day filled with rude customers, and the pressure just got to her. But I'm sorry you had to deal with that. What's worse I guess is I'm also just a cashier, not a supervisor or manager, and I'm the one apologizing, not her or her manager. Sorry, again :(

Today, I had a bad experience because of one of the cashier ladies. I brought 6 apparels to check out, and it turned out 7 apparels checked out. I found it when I came out to drive my car. I came back to the service desk, and I said there's double charged. The cashier lady spent a lot of time to check all the items with the receipt trying to argue that I somehow missed or hid any one item. I was embarrassed but in fact showed her the same product number charged twice. Even after that, she did not say sorry, but she acted like she was condescendingly giving the money back. I felt so angry at attitude and rudeness. So I called the manager, and the manager came to say sorry right away. The manager said there might be the bar code detector problem. Since the same product was charged twice not in a row accidentally but twice after another item charged. I think it could be done deliberately. However, still, the cashier who made a mistake did not say sorry but said to my wife, "You look at me like you want to kill me!" Oh, my goodness! This was so rude and so intimidating remarks, and even my son who's 8 years old was standing beside us. I do not know how to complain enough this bad experience there today. The TJ Maxx is located at 2700 S Sutton Rd Hoffman Estates, IL

Want to say that I'm not happy with the service at my local Marshalls(same family), like you I experienced bad attitude and rudeness as if my mother and I were degenerates.

I didn't realize the amount of the other shoppers of these two names that have had received such bad service.

Yeah, most of the time shoes are tried on in the store so it ends up having some dirt on it. It should of been fine being returned if the tags and everything was attached.
